Only one hdmi connector
I have a dvd player and dvr cable box. My tv has only one hdmi connection. How do I connect my Apple tv to television?
You could:
1 - swap HDMi cables around when you want to watch different sources - cheap but hassle
2 - get an HDMI switch
3 - get an AV amp
4 - maybe connect the DVD player or DVR using a different connection and use HDMI for AppleTV?

Cable : HDMI switches expand the number of available HDMI ports on a high definition television allowing connection of cable boxes, Blu-ray players, and game consoles. The problem with most HDMI switches is that you have to either get up to push a button, or hunt for the remote control, to switch sources. This automatic HDMI switch is a plug-and-play away from offering everything you are looking for in an HDMI switch. Select a single output from up to three devices for signal delivery to your HDTV. Smart operation provides complete control for connect-and-forget operation. Powering on a device gives it output priority over the other devices. By powering down the device in use, output priority is returned to the last powered on device. Note: Auto switch function only works for components that do not output continuous voltage over HDMI port when turned off.

I tried what you said again but without success. I even updated the driver so that that audio driver is the same as the graphics driver i.e.. NVIDIA but this has not helped either:

Repeating myself. I have received an Apple TV. All of my TVs have only one HDMI port and it is being used by my cable provider. Does anyone have suggestions on how to set up the Apple TV and still have access to the cable provider as well?
Not very elegant and shows that nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems. Thanks for the help though!

would need informations concerning the headset jack on the left of the laptop. Whereas in my old X60s have been two connectors for Microphone and stereo earphones (separately), now in the T400s only one connector is left, combining those two functions. As I would like to keep my headset: What kind of connector / adapter has to be used? Is the new jack stereo or mono?

problem solved here: I have bought a Belkin "Y-adapter" picture here
Works great with a mono headset (1 x micro and 1 x headphone, both with stereo plug).
The microphone uses the top of the connector, the headphone uses the second port. Perfect.

You could invest in an HDMI switcher. I used the Rocketfish model from Best Buy with my plasma HDTV before finally updating my AV receiver. It has auto-switching (which works better than my old auto-component switcher) but also comes with a remote control for those who prefer manual control. -

AppleTV has always been fickle about HDMI connections - it is likely a compatability issue with the switch.

Hi. I own an Iphone 4 running ios 5.1.1. I used to be able to watch a video using my HDMI adapter when i was running ios 5.0.
But i recently wanted to use it and i saw it would not work at all !!! I was running ios 5.0.1. Then i thought i should update my iphone to make it work again, but in vain, my adapter seems to work no more... I of course tried to restore my iphone and checked my hdmi cable. don't own the hdmi adapter but got the component and composite ones and they work fine with my iphone4 with latests os
what I would do if I was me
first step of troubleshooting would be to reboot the phone

second step then I would try another ios device that is supported with the device (of cause only iphone4s and ipad2 and up support mirror so for testing I use youtube as I know that support the tv out feature)
trying out the other ios device would rule out that the cable is damaged and you just happend to notice around the time you updated os
third step I would try other devices that use the pin30 cable to see if the connector in the iphone was damaged -

My TV is mounted on a wall so I can't connect the Apple TV device. Is it possible to connect to an HD Cable Box and send signal to TV that way? Other problem is that Box only has one HDMI socket so would also have to use a splitter. Tried Apple Support but couldn't offer a solution. I can't be the only person with this issue surely?
Help!No, unless you are using a home theatre system already, your only option is to connect to the TV.

I installed the DMS once, but my experience how to use it is poor.
In the Backend ( Transaction CV01N i think,) you can store search variants using the prefix you have defined for the DMSRM (default is KM_<theName>). This variants can be used to filter out several documents. There must be a way to give authorizations on them. Maybe you will have to use a security manager, i don't know.. in our case the user persistence (authScheme) was SAP-System an no TREX involved.
It is not much, but maybe it helps...

Ok. I've answered my own question. For anyone else with difficultites with a receiver, please read.
1. HDMI connection has sound, so despite the manual's dirction that you need an optical cable for sound, this is incorrect.
2. When connecting an HDMI cable from Apple TV to a receiver, you often need to "assign" the input on the receiver. On my Denon AVR-590, I need to o under the menu settings, then assign the input to Apple TV.
Example: I have run the HDMI cable from Apple Tv to my receiver, HDMI input #2. I then go the the menu option on the reciever and assin the HDMI #2 to being active.
That's all I needed. Hope this may help someone out there! danny -

Have you done a wireless scan of the network to see what the wireless network looks like?
I would use the program INSSIDER on a wireless laptop and scan the network for all the 2.4ghz networks.
This will allow you to select a channel that is not being used and should stabilize your wireless.
If someone is within range of your wireless signal and their signal is strong enough they can disrupt your signal.
I would try that and let us know how it goes.
