Only one Tamron lens on my lens profile list?

My lens profiles in the distortion correction list are small. I looked at the official list and mine is not right. I only have one Tamron lens profile. Nikon and Canon only have about 6 lenses each. What gives?

......oh.......well that answers my question. My pics are JPG. Thats kinda sad to hear especially since canon doesn't do distortion correction on non canon lenses. There's only one tamron lens for JPG, so sad. I was going crazy uninstalling and reinstalling and trying to find downloads for them. Thanks for the info. My frustration level has just dropped substantially. Thanks again!

When I add a new lens profile - Samyang 14mm f2.8 - .lcp file into the "LensProfiles > 1.0" folder, I appear there are many lens profile items can't show in the Lightroom lens profiles list.
Please tell me how can I add these items into the LR lens profiles list........... thanks!!!

Sorry my bad, should have put.
Your custom Camera Raw & Lens Profiles should be installed to the User folders…
Lightroom 5 no longer uses the shared ProgramData (Windows) / Application Support (Mac) folders for Camera or Lens Profiles. Instead, it stores the built-in profiles with its program files.
When you create camera or lens profiles, they must be stored in the user locations listed below. If you previously stored custom profiles in other locations, you’ll need to move them to these user folders, otherwise Lightroom won’t be able to find them.
    Windows—C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ CameraProfiles \
    Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CameraProfiles /
For the lens profiles, substitute the LensProfiles folder for the CameraProfiles folder.
The camera and lens profile file extensions are:
.dcpr—camera profile recipe file used for creating/editing a profile in the DNG Profile Editor
    .dcp—camera profile
    .lcp—lens profile

  • Tamron lens profile missing

I have just installed LR5 on Windows 8. I cannot find the lens profile for Tamron 27-40. Any ideas? I had this available with LR5 on Windows 7.

What lens are you looking for?  I don’t think there is a 27-40mm.  Do you mean a 24-70 or 17-40?   And what are the rest of the lens model specifications:  max aperture, stabilization, optical quality, etc.

  • Lens Profiles listed as available, but missing in lr4

    Hello,
the lens profile of my Samsung 12-24mm F4-5.6 ED is listed by Adobe.
It still does not appear in Lightroom 4.4 (french version).
I shot with a NX300, only Raw Format.
I'll be thankfull for any help.

What is your source of the information that the 12-24 is supported by Adobe?  Adobe supporting the raw format of the camera is not the same as Adobe providing lens profiles for a particular camera.  Of course, some cameras have lens-profiles build into LR that cannot be turned off, and these will not be listed as distinct profiles you can choose between, they are just always applied.  Usually this situation is for point-and-shoot cameras that don’t have removable lenses, which your NX300 is not one of.
Searching the lens-profile files, themselves, that were installed by Adobe LR 4.4, LR 5 and PS/ACR 8.1, I can only find three Samsung NX lenses that have profiles from Adobe, all three for raw:
    ·         Samsung 18-55 f3.5-5.6 OIS
    ·         Samsung 30mm f2
    ·         Samsung 50-200mm f4-5.6 ED OIS

    Hi,
my customer is complaining about InfoView (Document list) wasting too much screen estate. For each list item (report, folder etc.) InfoView displays two lines, one for the name and one for the description. Is it possible to configure InfoView to display one line only, leaving out the description?

    Hi Joern,
You can set the user preferences  to not display the description in the section: Document List Display

  • Lens Profiles not working in Lightroom 5.4?

I've got OSX 10.9.2, Lightroom 5.4, latest Camera raw, everything up to date.
When I "Enable Profile Corrections" for an image shot with a Sony a7r and Sony FE 55mm lens, it should automatically retrieve this profile:
      /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony/SONY (Sony FE 55mm F1.8 ZA) - RAW.lcp
Well, it doesn't.  The only Sony lens available in Lightroom's Lens Correction panel is "Sony DT 18-200mm."  But there are several dozen Sony lense profiles in the "Sony" directory.
And more puzzling, the camera "Make" menu lists 8 manufacturers (Apple, Canon, DJI, GoPro, Nikon, Sigma, Sony, Tamron) but leaves out a number of others — Fujifilm, Hasselblad, Leica, Mamiya, etc.
And as with Sony, only one Tamron lens is listed.
I've tried re-installing Lightroom fresh, and no luck.
Photoshop works fine and has all the lens profiles.
Anyone else noticing this?  Got a fix?
    Irked in Cambridge,
    Mike

I only shoot in RAW, and I am having this same issue. I shoot Nikon with a Tokina lens. This morning, Tuesday October 14, 2014, I had this setting. I closed the program and restarted it, and now I only have Apple, Canon, DJI, GoPro, Nikon, Sigma, Sony, Tamron lens profiles. There was not an update, nor did I actually change any settings. What is going on here?
I talked to customer support, whom suggested that I was stoned out of my mind because these profiles do not exist in lightroom. I did as the rep asked, followed the link and downloaded the "new" profile. Now I can't get it installed. Meanwhile, my photos are waiting for me to edit them. Can someone please help out here?!

  • Missing lens profiles in L4?

Why so litthe of them so far? When will be updatet to at least L3.6 amount?

    Lee Jay,
    Thank for your prompt reply.
I ordered L4 (box) and try the trial version in the meantime. I need TAMRON 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3DiII VC PZD B008E lens profile, but L4 shows only one Tamron lens profile (SP AF 28-75 mm f/2.8). Is it because it is trial, or the mistake is somewhare else?

  • Lens Profile: designating a default.

For my 6D I took the 70-300 VC Tamron as my longer reach walkabout lens. Lightroom has a humongous number of Tamron lens profiles, several of them for every each lens, with some cryptic acronyms. Is there any place where one could find out what they mean?
Furthermore, its always a bit of a hassle to select the proper profile for the 70-300 VC lens. Lightroom always points to the much older non-VC lens. It might be a problem of the EOS-6D and/or Tamron EXIF data itself, that the brand of the lens is not recognized by Lightroom. One has to to select Tamron as the brand manually for every image.
Lightroom points than to "70-300 f/4-5.6 Di A 17E" but there exist also a profile 17N, 17P and 17F. Furthermore, below I see tro profiles for the VC version, and one more for a non-VC 70-300.
    SP 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di USD A005S
    SP 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD A005E
    SP 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD A005N
Maybe the missing VC is a typo only. I take the A005E on a hunch, and I do not see any difference to the A005N. Maybe "E" is for Canon FE mount, and N is for Nikon's F mount?
This lens make and model issue seem to be more complicated: I used to own a 17-35 F/2.8-4 for my Nikons. The D300, and a few years later the D7000 have both recorded lens data in such a way, that Lightroom always assumed that the lens is made by Nikon: The default profile was (Make: Nikon, Model: 17-35 F/2.8-4, Profile: D700 17-35- F/2.8-4). Of course no such lens exist from Nikon, the profile was probably donwloaded by me using the Lens Profile Downloader. Maybe its author was confused about the "make of lens" versus "make of mount". The profile name might be just a string, thus Lightroom does not know that its not a proper profile.  But the real mystery starts when I change the 'Make' from Nikon to Tamron: Lightroom selects than the following Adobe made profile(??):
    18-200 F/3.5-6.3 DiII A14N
(Of course a battery of profiles for 18-200 exist as well.) Wow, how comes? I noted this with LR3 and LR4 already, no improvement in LR5. A profile for a Tamron 17-35 exist though in the profile list, albeit I think I also downloaded it using the Adobe profile downloader tool:
SP AF Aspherical Di LD [IF] 17-35mm f/2.8-4 o77
    That's a long one :-).
I am  not sure if all the issues can be resolved, considering the mix of Adobe provided, and user made lens profiles, albeit chosing a 18-200 lens for a 17-35 sure appears like a bug to me.
Can we actually select a default profile to a lens / mount pair, matching the lens in use?
Maybe the trick would be to find the profile files and to remove the profiles of lenses which we do not have?
    Thomas.

There are a plethora of Tamron Lens Profiles, because Adobe provide them for Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony. The profiles are quite easy to find and remove, but each time you update/upgrade they will return.
I seem to recall that there have been problems with 3rd party lenses not identifying themselves properly before. I can't remember why, but I'm sure if somebody knows they will post.

  • LR3 final (not beta) can't find new lens profiles

Hi all.   Just downloaded and installed the production release of LR3 and was disappointed to find the lens profiles I had created and saved to the standard location  (...\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\) were not available in the lens correction panel within Lightroom.  I presume this is because lightroom is looking for them in a different directory, but it's a mystery to me where that is.  Please help.

There are two types of lens profiles, one created with the camera raw images (called the raw lens profiles) and the other created JPEG (called non-raw lens profiles). LR/ACR will only load raw lens profiles. Ideally, you want to use raw profiles in the LR/ACR workflow. In you are in a hurry and you only have a JPEG profile, check out this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/2856442#2856442 on how to turn a JPEG lens profile into a raw one.
Essentially, you open up the lcp lens profile in a text editor, and and replaced every occurence of
                      <stCamera:CameraRawProfile>False</stCamera:CameraRawProfile>
    with
                      <stCamera:CameraRawProfile>True</stCamera:CameraRawProfile>
and resave the file. Then LR/CR will be able to recognize the new profile.

  • Changing a lens profile in Notepad?

I recieved a Samyang 14mm F2/8 (used on Canon 50D) this weekend, and can not find a profile for it. I did find one for the Canon 40D using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, and it is not recognized in LR 5.3, on Windows 7. After looking at in Notepad, I tried changing all references to Canon 40D to Canon 50D, hoping it would work, at least enough for me to test this lens. It is still not recognized in LR, and I am wondering if anyone has tried to make a change such as this, and had it work for them. If all elses fails, I will create the profile!
    Thanks,
    Larry

The Adobe Lens Profile Downloader should automatically install the profile to the correct user folder. Check as ssprengel has outlined to be sure the profile is actaully in the correct folder. The only profile I see is for raw image files. If you are using JPEG image files this raw profile will not show inside LR in the Lens Profile list. You can edit the lens profile in Notepad so that it will work with JPEGs and save it with a different name (add_JPEG). Keep in mind the vignetting correction is slightly different for raw files than JPEGs, but the distortion correction should be the same. You may need to set the Vignetting slider to a higher or lower setting than 100 to get a closer match for JPEGs. Procedure here:

  • Lens profile default

I cannot get lightroom to remember my lens profile default.
.I have created a custom develop profile with sharpening, clarity and vividness and so on selected and in the lense profiles.  I made made sure I had selected Auto or Custom and the correct lens..then i updated my develop profile making sure I checked Lens Corrections and yet the profile does not remember the lens although it remembers everything else
..I also try setting the default with  Alt/ Set default under lens ;profile corrections  again trying both auto and custom and still I cannot get lightroom to consistantly apply the profile ,..,and I have just bought a second lens and so the problem is about to get worse and to make a bid situation worse I cant find either one of my lenses listed,,16-85 and 55-200 Nikors
I just want to have lightroom apply the appropriate profile to each file as a default..that is all I want but I just cannot get it done..
and i cant change the color proile either even with the Alt/Set default button but at this point that is a secondary issue..
    I have windows 8 and lightroom 5
    Thanks

The selection of lens profile against whatever image you use as template for your Develop preset, needs to show "Default" - not "Auto", or "Custom".
Then when the preset is applied to other images, LR knows to use whatever profile is currently assigned against their lens data, for that image type (raw / non-raw).
E.g. setting up a new profile assignment or installing a new profile will straight away, retrospectively activate that chosen profile against relevant images provided they already have "Default" selection in place. Or else setting them to Default, will achieve the same thing straight away.
"Custom" seeks to apply a particular, specific profile regardless - and sometimes a profile cannot be (mis)applied, e.g. if there is an image format mismatch.
"Auto" seems to disregard user-selected profile assignments ("set as default"), employing only built-in lens profile detection.

  • Missing Lens Profiles

I've just upgraded to 3.4 from 3.2 on a Mac 10.6.6 (mostly because one of my lenses finally has a profile).  But I only see the new lens profiles listed when I'm working with a RAW file.  They don't show up when I'm working with a jpg image.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

thanks for the answer.  I just found another post on this too.  Sorry about that, I should have spent more time looking.

  • Wrong lens profile assigned by LR5

When I enable lens profile correction, choose default, auto or custom, LR5 will assign Tamron 28 75. However, the correct lens is the Tamron 24 70 (nikon). I checked my Lightroom 5 lens profiles list and the Tamron 24 70 is listed. How do I get LR5 to recognise the correct lens?

It may be that the same lens-id is recorded in exif for both of those Tamron lenses so LR cannot tell which one is actually on the camera.
To fix this, after you’ve set the right lens by hand, click where it says Setup: Custom and choose Set New Lens Profile Defaults.
This will save your changes so when LR sees that lens-id it’ll use what you’ve set even if it would automatically have chosen some other lens.
For this to work with new images you should set the Setup to Default rather than Auto as your LR Defaults.  The difference is Default uses any custom settings and Auto ignores them.
If you make a mistake then you can choose Reset Lens Profile Defaults to make it forget the new default for that lens.

  • How do I create a new lens profile?

    How do I creat a new lens profile for a Canon EF135mm f/2 and EF200 f/2.8 in lightroom 3.3?

    Hi Simon,
Thanks for your reply.   I figured it out, I  downloaded the new version of Raw 6.3 and now I have the lens profile and others  such as crop constraint and
chromatic abrerrations.  I was looking for these items in Photoshop Raw
    Thanks,
    Aideen
If I understand you correctly, you found and downloaded a lens profile that matches your camera and lens, and you don't see the profile in LR?
    1. Make sure that you relaunch LR after you downloaded the lens profiles.
    2. The type of lens profiles (raw or non-raw) matches your image type (raw or non-raw). Namely you can only apply raw lens profiles to raw image files and vice versa for the non-raw profiles.
