Only partial or samples of the songs play

I recently purchased an album and only portions of the songs play.  It shows the length of each song, but it only plays snipets.  About the same about of time the samples are played when listening in the iTunes Store.  Any suggestions or ideas about what might be wrong and how I can correct it?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • TS2776 why does my computer give me a cant find files notice when syncing my ipod? only about 1/2 of the songs transfer to computer out of the ipod. and the file must be on the ipod because i can play the song on it. i want to transfer all songs to my ipa

why can't i transfer all songs on my ipod to my computer and then to my new ipad? i keep getting a message saying that about half of the files couldn't be found, and only about 1/2 of the songs went to the ipad when i first synced. the files must be on the ipod, because i can play all 448 from the ipod when disconnected from the computer. and all songs show up on my devices at itunes and can be played on the computer. but only about 1/2 are going to the ipad. i am no tech genius, obviously, but could someone please help me? thanks

Apple does not support transferring files from the device to the computer if they are third party.  It is great that you were able to transfer the ones you did.  There is a way to do it but it sounds like you already did it because if not half of them would not come over.  The files can probably not be found because they are third party and the files are not compatible with the transfer process.

  • Only 1 minute and 30 seconds of the song plays that I pick

Just bought a new computer and downloaded iTunes, as I previously had it downloaded on a laptop. My song library shows up, but when I play a song, only 1 minute and 30 seconds of the song plays. Is this fixable?

I just downloaded a song and only got 1 min. 30 sec.  It's suppose to be a 2 min. 35 sec. song.  Did you find out how to get the complete song?  If not, it's a waste of money and confidence in Apple.  Thanks!

no, i had to leave so i logged out and when i opened itunes on my mac and went into the downloads tab it only had one paused download listed. i resumed the download for the one movie listed and the other one never showed up. its been about two weeks since i initially bought the two movies so i figured something was wrong.

  • I downloaded an entire album off of itunes today. When i went to the library to listen to them, four of the ten songs only played to 45 seconds and then stopped completly. Where as the rest of the songs played fine. Is there anyway to fix it?

Just brought the MacPro and first time using iTune and Yes I authorized the computer. But for a few purchased songs, only 30 seconds of the song plays and for one song off an album, a pop comes up saying I need to authorized the computer, but I do this and it says it is authorized already. I click on the song to play it and this process repeat (saying it is not authorized, then saying it is already authorized)

  • Only about 1/3 of the songs on MP3 CD play in my car ....

Hey, so I made an MP3 CD using itunes, got 119 songs on there. Earlier today I discovered while driving that about 1/3 of the way through the songs the CD started over, as in that is all it recognized as being on the CD for whatever reason. The songs are grouped by Artist and they play using folders, it got up to "F" (Foo Fighters) or folder 31, which is about 40 songs or so. I honestly have no idea what is going on. I have the CD in my drive right now and it is showing all 119 songs are burned on there and they all play fine on my PC. So is this something to do with my car or what? It is pretty weird to only have 1/3 of the songs playable for no apparent reason.
Anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks!

Does this only happen with the tracks you have downloaded from the iTunes Store?  Perhaps you should work the suggestions in this Apple support document first.

  • Is there any way that I can have songs in an iTunes Playlist without having the songs play in my regular music list.  For instance: can I have a Playlist of Christmas songs without having them play in the routine shuffle of my music library?  Thanks -Rog

Select the songs, press CTRL+I to Get Info, on the Options tab set Skip when shuffling to Yes.
If you want to the hide the songs from your main music view you could consider changing the media kind to audiobooks or podcasts if you don't mind the side effect of them showing up there instead.

  • New songs synced to my ipod wont play, the songs play fine on itunes and appear on ipod but wont play..any help appreciated

New songs synced to my ipod wont play, the songs play fine on itunes and appear on ipod but wont play..any help appreciated

So, if you select one of these songs on the iPods screen, and try to play it, what happens?  The iPod does nothing?  It skips to the next song?
It's possible you will have to do a Restore on the iPod, if there is data corruption on the iPod causing this problem.  The Restore erases the iPod, and removes any corruption.
NOTE:  There may be a hardware problem, such as the iPod's hard drive becoming unreliable, that is causing this problem and data issues.  It may continue to operate as long as its data stays mostly unchanged, but if you do a Restore to update the hard drive's data in a major way, it is possible that the Restore will fail and leave the iPod non-operable.

  • Anyway I can highlight the song playing in my playlist on my computer screen?

Anyway I can highlight the song playing in my playlist display on my computer screen?

On the computer screen, the playlist displays a small speaker icon to indicate the song playing. Another song is highlighted in blue. One would think the highlighted song would be the song playing since it attracts the most attention in the list. Instead you must seek out the tiny icon. So I would like to know if there is a way for the song playing to be highlighted.

  • Up next doesn't seem to work properly with multiple speakers over airplay. The status bar on the computer shows the song playing, but not over airplay. When I restart the song it plays, but the same thing happens when the next song cues up. Any ideas?
