Only publish specific pages

How do I only publish specific pages and mark some not to be published to save time when uploading / have some pages which I keep but don't have up online? Thank you!!

Are you publishing to MMe or to a folder and using ftp to upload?
When you publish to MMe, iWeb will publish your whole site. If you want to hide pages that you are still working on, then just go to Inspector and Pages and click do not show page in navigation menu and it will not be shown.
With ftp, I think you have to upload the whole site folder, but there are some ftp programs out there that will allow you to upload individual pages. Again, hide the page and take it out of the nav menu.

Melanie ~ It depends where you're publishing to and the FTP app you're using...
If you're publishing to MobileMe, just hitting the Publish button should upload only updated pages.
If you're publishing to another host, the FTP app you use needs to have a "synchronization" feature: Cyberduck is often recommended and Easy iWeb Publisher is an alternative — see this article and video. (Both Cyberduck and +Easy iWeb Publisher+ are free.)

How to change background color only in specific pages???

Hi! I try to change color of background in pdf document using adobe reader, but it only changes all pages together and I can't find a way to do it on selected pages(or even select them). For example I need to change only 1st and last page to grey background color and leave the middle pages with white background color. Please help! Thanks

I seldom use Word so I can't help you with that problem. It could be in the way you are adding the background in Word but again, I use it about oncve a month.
If you have Adobe Illustrator, you could do it there by adding a colored box in a layer behind the text (you can open the pdf directly in Illy).

Setting the "Email" Button to only send specific pages in a PDF

Hey everyone, couldn't find this question on the board, so figured I'd give it a shot.
I have a PDF I'm making w/a coverpage, what I'm trying to find out is if I can set the "email PDF" button to specifically send the PDF without the coverpage included (so...if the cover page is page 1 in a 5 page document, the pdf emailed would only include pages 2-5).
Not sure if this functionality is possible, but I figured I'd reach out to the experts - thanks in advance!

Adobe Reader is simply for reading/printing PDF's (and possibly a few other things depending on the PDF). You can find more functionality in the full version of Adobe Acrobat. In this case, with Acrobat you can simply remove the first page then email the rest.

Publishing changed pages only

How do I get iWeb to only publish changed pages? It is taking an incredibly long time for my uploads because it is re-publishing my entire site each time I make a change. Also, is there a feature in either iWeb or iPhoto that lets me shrink my picture size? Thanks.

Like you, I also have iWeb 1.1.1 and publish to .mac as my host. I just did a test and created a test page within my 'Site 1' (Note, names have been changedc to protect the innocent, as Sgt Web used to say). It was the only page/site with the red color. When I clicked publish, the progress window said "Creating welcome", then "Creating Site 1", then "Creating Page 1" (that's first page in Site 1) then "Creating Page 2", etc through all 24 pages in Site 1. Then "Creating Site 2" followed by each of the 5 pages in Site 2. Then "Creating Blog" followed by each of the 4 entries in my blog.
so I conclude that you must be born under a lucky star, as I'm clearly not experiencing the simpler world that you are. I'm envious!

Restricting Multiple Users To Only Their Specific Areas Of A Site

I think I understand the basics of user authentication and
password protection for areas of a site using PHP/MySQL, etc. Maybe
I don't however.
My question is: If I have 10 users how do I restrict each
user to only their specific pages in the site so that they can only
see their specific pages and not every protected page?

I'm trying to get a blog module going, I've even deleted the html insert bog with the tag in and re-published which then I don't get the error but as a result no blog either. But then I add the tag in again and publish the error comes back. I've used the dev console and it says that my musicians sample.css is out of date but why is it only out of date when I add in html to my muse site?
HELP!!!! I've searched other threads and to no avail I'm publishing so no direct ftp going on. the only thing I changed in business catalyst was the module stylesheet in order to style the blog. I've tried uploading and replacing all files nothing seems to work. the site is here:

It's only this page as it has the blog on. Also I've noticed when I've re-published occasionally it will show the mobile version on my desktop and not the desktop version??? no idea why that's happening so I've had to turn that off. any explanation on why that is happening would also be much appreciated.

I haven't received an answer as of yet, I'll post t on here when I do. I de-activated the mobile site because it's my clients site so he needs it to be operational during the day. I hope someone gives me an answer soon.

I understand that a Phase Listener runs for ever page in the application, however I want a phase listener to only run for one page at the beginning of the application.
I discovered I can't use a Filter, because the JSF Application instance always returns null.
Thus, I thought a Phase Listener would be a good approach.
Thoughts?

Use XMLP to pull only specific pages from larger PDF template?

We need to be able to pull specific pages or a range of pages out of a larger template to use to merge data into and return to users or the selected delivery method. I've seen a lot of information about how to add page numbers to PDF templates / documents, but nothing about how I can pull out specific pages. We know this can be done using iText or some other technology, but does anyone know if this can be done using XML Publisher at all? This is a big issue for us and could determine whether we end up using XMLP at all or go with something else. Any info would be helpful.

Try this :
1. Edit the page
2. Click "Access" in the banner at the top of page.
3. Under "Access Settings" select "Specify Access Settings"
4. Enter the username into the "Grantee" text box
5. Select "MANAGE" from the drop down box of permission levels
6. Click "Add"
7. Click "Apply"
8. Click "Clear Cache" to activate the changes
9. Click "Ok" to return to the page.

TS2580 Only my welcome page published, not the links to the other pages. My server says they are there, but not showing up, any ideas? Thanks.

I developed my web site and published it with myserver. However only the first page shows up, no other pages, and the links to the other pages are missing on the welcome page. The host tells me that it is a software problem, that the pages are on the server. Pleae advise?

You could have determined the presence of the pages by typing the pagenames in the URL.
The second option was to connect to the server and see with your own eyes what is there.
And since you do not use a Sitename in the URL, I assume you uploaded the files yourself instead of letting iWeb do the honours.
Regarding the Photo page, I do not see any photos on the page. Yet they are on the server too :

If you did put the files on the server yourself, verify that you did upload every single file iWeb creates.
Edit : since the directories are open, you may want to consider closing them. Ask your webhoster to do it for you.

Email specific pages ONLY from PDF

Is there a way to extract and email only specific pages from a LiveCycle designed, Reader-enabled PDF using Adobe Reader 8? (i.e. the form has 20 pages total, but I only want the user to email Page3, Page5, and Page7 at once using a button)...

I think the only option would be to hide the pages.
pageName(or subForm).presence = "hidden";
and then after the email routine finishes show the pages again.
pageName.presence = "visible";
If you had all the pages you want hidden in one subform then it would just be one line of code.

When i publish the website only the home page is live (site menu broken)

Help! I have created a basic site with about 4 pages and a blog. When I try to publish it (both on .mac and on own domain) only the home page is accessible. The site menu does not seem to be working.

You used the automated publish to .Mac? You didn't publish to a folder and then copy to your idisk, did you?
If you publish to a folder, can you go into that folder and open the main page and navigate around? If not I'd say the whole thing is corrupt or something. I'm just asking if it works BEFORE you upload it to .Mac or a third party host.
Have you tried starting over? Or at least make a new site with two pages on it and see if you can go back and forth between the pages.
If you think it's corrupt and there is nothing else in iWeb I would delete the domain file from ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb before you start creating again.
Don't get mad at me for asking - you aren't trying to navigate around in iWeb are you? Mistaking it for a browser?? Sorry, had to ask.

When publishing to PDF, only the first page is published.

Have not been able to find the setting to allow all the pages to be published. In Word or WordPerfect, when I publish to pdf it only publishes the first page.

Acrobat, absolutely, does not control Corel WP publish to PDF.
Nor does it control the MS Office 2007 Save As to PDF-XPS process.
Corel's WP "publish" to PDF does not involve any Adobe / Acrobat related processes.
Until recent releases, WP used an 'in house' routine to create PDFs.
Not that long ago Corel hooked up with Nuance to provide an improved "publish to PDF" feature.
With regards to Corel's WP file format; it is good to know that neither older WP versions nor the current version is an Adobe PDFMaker "supported" format .
I suspect that this is due to Corel having made the business decision to go their own way with providing a PDF output process.
Best bet for obtaining WP file to PDF information is at Corel's WP user forums which have knowledgeable and helpful participants.
As to Word - again, the MS Office Save As to PDF-XPS method is totally a MS process.
No Acrobat involvement.
What may be the source of the issue you have is a possible conflict between the Nuance stuff and the Acrobat stuff.
It is not uncommon to encounter conflicts when multiple PDF creation processes are installed.
Regardless, the issue you have is not an Acrobat exclusive one.

I would like to know how to apply some script on specific pages only.
I would like to apply it on pages number 4 to 50 on a 50 page project, and so exclude page 1, 2 and 3.
