Only saving what I edit camera issues
I have edited a few home movies and have taken then down from like 2 hours to about an hour, alot was bad shooting, camera issues, etc.
I notice the project size has not changed and have even dragged some of the clips out of imovie and see it really never deletes anything, what is the fasted way to have a new project with just what I want in the timeline?
Do I have to export it to a full dv file and then reimport to imovie?

iMovie 6 uses nondestructive editing. That means that if you use only 4 seconds of a 20 minute clip, iMovie saves the entire clip in its project files, even though you put only the 4 seconds into your timeline. Deleting the trash or dragging some clips out of iMovie does not change iMovie's files.
If you are certain that you will not need the rest of the clips again in this movie, yes, you can export it as quicktime, full quality and then reimport that quicktime movie into a new iMovie, and it will contain only the clips that were in your timeline, so its size will be smaller. Any edits you made will be incorporated and the movie will be created as one long clip, without separate audio tracks for any audio you added. You can still edit, but it is a bit trickier. If you have only cropped the clips and have not added titles, effects or audio, you can still do that by splitting the clips where you want the titles, effects and transitions. You can add audio wherever you wish, just be sure to lock the audio clip in position so that it remains with the correct video.
If you are going to be making a DVD of your movie using iDVD, the movie's size is not a factor, only its length in time. For single-layer DVDs, the maximum time for its contents is two hours, and double that for the dual-layer DVDs.

available for all users of this project server) when trying to insert a new column in the Gannt Chart View.
Due to this what all are the columns that inserted in the project plan, will be lost when open the project in the next time.
I have opened the Enterprise Global Template and cross checked for Gaant Chart view it is showing the table as "Entry" only.
The requirement is what all columns are required for the project plan, manager will insert in the project first time. Next time on-wards it needs to be display the columns when opened the project from server by default.
We are unable to reproduce this issue in our Dev Envt.
Could anyone of you please help me.

I suggest to remove Gantt Chart view and Entry table from Eglobal. These are default views from client and it is highly recommended to not use them in Enterprise Global.
Whatever a user ist doing on a view or table which is included in Enterprise Global will be reset on next open - therefore you receive this message.
If you need some server wide defined views and tables, create them. But remove Gantt Chart and Entry.

Thank you for the update for remote access for desktops.
Personally, I do not want to give remote access to anyone but myself as privacy is my friend. Can this remote desktop software still be for me personally unless I allow access and for my MAC lap top only? What if I do not update? I do use this lap top in other countries. compatibility issues with what?Apple Remote Desktop is off be default. It has to be enabled for some one to be able to remotely connect to the computer. And then, you still have to have a user name and password on the computer to remotely connect with.
If you want to see if remote access has is enabled for Apple Remote Desktop; you can find the setting in, Apple Menu, System Prefrences, Sharing. If it's enabled, Remote Management or Screen Sharing will be checked.
Beucase Apple Remote Desktop Agent is part of the Mac Operating System; even if your not using it, Apple Software Updates will from time to time offer updates for ARD Agent. Software Updates can some times be stacked ontop of each other; so chosing not to install an update, can mean other updates you may want may not be offered. At least until you install the updates those updates require. Also software updates can improve the security of your computer. -
I backed up my iMac with a "WD My Passport" using the Time Machine option and tried to restore my iMac but it only saved my applications none of my documents, photos nothing else! What happened?
There should be two sparse bundles on the TC, one for each Mac. If you click the TC in a Finder sidebar, you should see something like this (in Column View):
If you see the sparse bundle for the iMac there, but not on the window where you do a full system restore (after starting from your Recovery HD or OSX Install disc), they may be corrupted (especially if your iMac was failing at the time of the last backup).
Try repairing those backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
Then try the full restore again, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #14. Note that if you suspect problems on the most recent backup, you might want to select an earlier one. -
Edit camera raw in Bridge stopped working CS5 (and star rating removed)
I have always had the 'double click edits camera raw settings in Bridge' setting enabled. Half way through editing a batch of 1000 images, instead of opening in Bridge the image opened in Photoshop. I checked the selection in Bridge, re-enabled it, closed Bridge and opened a few times, re-enabled again, re-booted my system, but it still opens raw files in Photoshop. This is extremely irritating as I now have to switch windows every time I go to do the next edit. I don't need Photoshop running for 90% of the edits I am doing. I made no changes to my system during the time that I was editing.
Any ideas?

At the same time as this error occurred Bridge now removes star ratings as in the following sequence:
1 Give image 3 *
2 Double click to edit and raw file opens in Photoshop
3 Edit and save image.
4 Click done and return to Bridge
5 The 3 * rating has been removed and the saved jpg also has 0 *

I have partly solved the problem. I normally convert to DNG but did not do so on this occasion. In the batch were files from a Canon 5D and and Canon 5D mkII. A very small number of the 5D files have the problem above. I converted all these to DNG and I can edit normally. But I am still at a loss as to why some files exhibit this strange behaviour.The forum is not dead; moribund, perhaps. :-)

For the past few weeks my computer will slow down when I have been on Safari for awhile, then freeze, and then just go black. I have to press the power button and then it goes to a black screen with the apple logo and a loading bar underneath when it reboots. I'm not sure what is causing the issue, but on my previous mac it would have an error message if something like this happened that I could submit. Any suggestions of where to start to solve this issue?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
What exactly is the issue with CS5 and the retina display?
Just picked up a late 2013 MBP with retina display and have PS CS5 running on it.
What is the exact issue that I should be having when it comes to running CS5 on these machines ? Is it just that the UI looks fuzzy? Other than that it seems to run fine and my photos look fine also.What issue?"
That is what I am asking...Like I said, I am able to open CS5 on my new retina mbp and edit image files with no issue..the only thing that I notice that seems off is the text of the UI seems "fuzzy"....
So, what I am asking is what exactly is the problem supposed to be that I should be seeing? -
Lumia 1520.3 Front Camera Issue
As Lumia Denim update is expected on the last quarter of the year, will it fix the front camera issue of the Lumia 1520?
My phone is originally running on Lumia Black and the phone is working perfectly until i installed the dev prev. Regardless of what camera app, once front camera is called, app automatically close. Done soft reset, hard reset and Nokia Recovery Tool but to no avail, front camera is still useless.
Hope the next iteration of the software will fix this problem.hi mate, sorry to hear of your problems. have u tried installing Lumia Cyan as this may fix your issues (i.e. has the correct optimisations and driver updates for your Nokia). i know it is a pain to hard reset and update manually to Lumia Cyan, but it may be the only option before taking your phone to Nokia Care for inspection

I am starting to do graphic design. I know I need to get a decent camera in case a client needs pics of his business, work or whatever in the print ad. my question is what type of camera do I need and how many MP should I have without getting way more than I need.
I not only work in graphic design, but I shoot professional sports photography. I can tell you that you will not need to spend a lot on a camera to take static photos. In fact, you probably won't even need to get an SLR, although it might be worth it if you choose to shoot moving objects in the future.
Currently, I have a Canon EOS1D that I use for sporting events, but something like that is flat out overkill for what you would need. I also have a Canon A700, which looks much like a standard pocket point and shoot digital camera, but it's actually a hybrid, which means that you can make several manual adjustments as you would on any more expensive SLR. The camera is 6mp and 6X optical zoom, so the resolution is high. Quite honestly, unless you're making posters, much over 6mp is overkill. What you want to watch for is the optical zoom number. A good MP number and Optical number is what you're looking for. Pay no attention to digital zoom as that is meaningless. We took that camera to Greece and got amazing photos, better than anything my EOS1D can take.
Other things to consider if you're buying a camera for static shooting.
VIEW FINDER: Most Canon cameras come with a view finder. While hardly used, if you're in bright sunlight, you might not be able to see the LED screen. I used this a lot in Greece as there was a lot of bright light and not many shady areas to shoot from. Many Nikon cameras of this style do not come with view finders, although Nikon makes a top-notch camera as well.
FLASH: If you're shooting indoors for studio shots or product shots, you will want a flash attachment. The smaller camera usually don't come with these. The on-camera flash will not be good enough for these purposes. Again, depends on what you're shooting.
The small hybrids will run you in the $200-$500 range, depending on your options. If you want the whole gammut, flash attachments, SLR capability, and a variety of lenses to choose from, and the ability to shoot motion, you will need to spend a little more. But, Canon has released a number of excellent lower cost SLRs the past four years. Look at the EOS Rebel lines. I've owned a Rebel and it worked amazing, even for sports photos. Rebels run in the $500-$900 range.
If you're thinking the smaller, hybrid type cameras would work best for you, I would suggest checking out Crutchfield.com and BestBuy.com and looking through their Canon lines to see what might interest you. Crutchfield has excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff, so they can answer questions that most Best Buy employees won't know.
If you want to take a larger step up and give yourself more options, try B&H Photo (bhphotovideo.com) and select SLR Cameras, then Canon. If you want something above and beyond the Rebel line and money isn't really an issue, you can choose from the EOS 40D, 50D and beyond ($1,300 and up). The one I'm looking at is the EOS1-Ds Mark III, but it's way out of my price range at the moment - $6,500! That one is the sports photog's dream.

Can someone explain the icloud to me please? Where are all my old pictures and how can I see them? Photostream only holds 1000 and when I sync my icloud to my mac it only imports what is on my photo stream.
When you enable photo stream on your Mac, in imports photos currently in your photo stream. However, photo stream only keeps photos for 30 days, even though up to 1000 photos will remain on your device until you delete them. When you enable photo stream on your Mac, you will only receive photos added in the last 30 days, as the others are no longer in your photo stream.
If you want to get all your old photos on your Mac, save them to your camera roll (if they aren't already there) by opening your photo stream album, tapping Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. Once they are in your camera roll, import them to your Mac as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Another option would be to create a shared photo stream containing the older photos and invite yourself (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99). Then check Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto>Preferences>Photo Stream and you will see this shared photo stream on your Mac. -
Z1C camera issues - manufacturing date? recall?

I went through the whole thread about the camera issues.
Sadly I got a bad phone as well (black version).
The flash leakage isn't the only problem, the camera looses focus during video shooting as well, and the most bothering thing is the photo quality on regular photos (manual mod, different ISO, whatever..) which is poor even compared to the Galaxy S2 !!
I was very dissapointed, and it seems the local retailer isn't familiar with the issue..
I'm willing to wait but I am afraid suffering users will be forgotten and Sony will focus on the Z2/compact/whatever they will release next...

Thanks !!Hi to all Sony fans the camera is actually very good but the thing that screwed it up is the stuperior auto that is **bleep** the owsome hardware under the hood,regarding flash bleeding iam not seeing any bleed,so after testing i found the follwoing results for owsome pics:
1-iso 50 for shooting 0 to 1 meter far away from the object.
2-iso 100 for shooting 1 to 2 meter far away from the object.
3-iso 200 for shooting 2 meter and above.
or use camera zoom x its not great as manual mode but it is way better than stuperior auto if u want to shoot good photos at great speed in the dark well its android so there is alternative to any **bleep** app
for shooting a single face but the focus on face detection,for multiple or large objects but the focus on multiple autofucos

Set the text item's Enabled property to False at design time. Then, using SET_ITEM_PROPERTY (see Forms Help), set to Enabled in the relevent part of the code on the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED triggers on your Insert and Update buttons. Similarly, disable on your Save button once the cnahges are saved etc. -
I have systems running both OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.4. My G4 Dual 500 sees OS X shares just fine, but the OEM 9.2.2 installs on my Powerbook 1G Ti and Powermac Dual 1.25 do not (in Network Browser). What might be the issue?

The only way to install OS 9.2.2 is using the install CD/DVD that came with the Mac, since these are special versions of OS 9.2.2.
If you just want to run classic mode, copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.1 (or better with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2) installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System.

Ever since I had updated my phone to ios 6, i noticed that it no longer saved photos to my camera roll. If I take a picture on Instagram, it will not automatically save it to my camera roll as it used to do, nor does it save any image, I just want it fixed.
To gdgmacguy your a f****** idiot for one I'm having the same problem as pennymar. And you tell me to quit whinning. You got more problems then the iOS 6 you did not answer my question nor the other 13 or whatever you replied to within a 30 min time frame. You must got nothing better to do then to harass people and to pretend you know something about apple products. Which you don't from what I've read the other advices you should have gave to other people. But you didn't you replied a question back to the people asking a question. So if your not gonna use these community forums the right way don't use them at all.
