Only seeing Audio File in AME on Import or Export to Queue from Premiere

Hello All...
I don't have alot of experience with AME... I"ve exported a sequence from Premiere Pro, Selected setting and added to the Queue in AME... all I see show up once the AME window opens is an Audio File.
When I open a Premiere project directly from AME (using the dropdown menu) I get the same result... I've tried this with a few Premiere Projects. Am I missing a step here???
Also... I'm confused as to why I select all the transcode settings in Premiere Pro when exporting media... and then there are presets again in AME... don't the settings carry over from Premiere's export window?
Thyanks for any help...

I'm wrestling with this same issue.
I'm on Windows 7using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
I'm producing a two disc, dual layer DVD set for 100 families of my son's marching band.
I have a half hour "masterwork" of interviews, performance segments, rehearsal sequences, credits, etc that I've edited together complete with sound, etc.
I also then have various other video segments from the season, some high quality (1920x1080) and some lower quality.
Rather than import everything into Encore and have Encore transcode them all at the same quality, I wanted to ensure that the half-hour piece and certain other segments were transcoded as high quality as possible and given the largest file sizes I could and then transcode other segments as needed so everything would fit on the discs.
The company I'm using to duplicate/replicate the 100 DVDs from my Master DVD advised me to encode them FIRST in Premiere Pro as desired, and THEN import those files into Encore.
I've used Adobe Media Encoder a lot to export the individual segments into files I could upload to Youtube and have had no problem.
But now, two things happen:
1) AME automatically designates the "Output File" with an .aac extension
2) When I do an "Import As" of the AME encoded file in Encore it only loads an audio file (obviously)
Whassup?
Here are the settings I use in my Export Media dialogue in Premiere Pro CS6:
Format: MPEG2-DVD
Preset: NTSC Widescreen High Quality
Output Name (and filetype): ______ name with Save as Type of "Video Files(*.mpg)
BOTH the "Export Video" and "Export Audio" boxes are checked
Filters Tab: left as is, don't do anything here
Multiplexer Tab:
choose the "DVD" button (vs the "None" button)
Bitrate Type: left as Variable which is what is selected as a default
Video Tab:
Codec: Reads MainConcept MPEG Video
Quality: increase it to the max of 5
TV Standard: NTSC
Frame Rate: 29.97
Field Order: None (Progressive)
Pixel Aspect Ration: Widescreen 16:9
Render at Maximum Depth box checked
Bitrate Encoding: I choose CBR for my high quality segments and VBR 2-pass for my lower quality segments
Bitrate: kick it up to the max for high qulaity segments, adjust as needed to get the filesize I want for my lower quality segments
Audio Tab:
Audio Format: Dolby Digital
Codec: Dolby Digital
Bitrate: At least 320, sometimes higher for the segments I want to be the highest quality
I check the "Use Maximum Render Quality" box
I chose "Queue" for everything and then let it run overnight
So... what am I doing wrong, helpful experts????

This is going t drive me nutty....
When I go to import a music file, FC can only see artist files, I have created an audio file with the same name as my FC project but, FC does not see this file..

*I'm assuming you're locating these particular songs by using the Finder, and not just navigating inside of iTunes?*
    That would be correct
*What kind of file are you talking about? When did iTunes give you the option of creating custom song files? Are you talking about a custom playlist?*
Not a playlist, I created a folder, then named this folder the same as my FC project. Then dragged the music for the FC project into the folder.
*What file are you talking about? Can you provide an extension for reference?*
My mistake, not file but folder in ITunes
*Where are you looking for these "files"? In iTunes or the Finder?*
From my FC browser ; import > folder > music > ITunes > ITunes Music > list of music folders. now it is here I see the list of all the artists music folders, however the folder I created does not show.
*It sounds like you're creating a playlist in iTunes, then trying to import that playlist in Final Cut. Why not just right-click on the song in iTunes, then select "Reveal in Finder", then drag that file into your FCE Browser?*
It's not a playlist, it's a folder in ITunes. as I said I can import the song from my library just fine. I just thought that surely there would be a way to import the folder of audio, rather than one song at a time ..
Sorry for all the confusion guys.

  • APE 12 exporting to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

When exporting (rendering) a HD video through Adobe Premier Elements  12 to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

I'm actually surprised that you can playback ProRes files in Windows Media Player, which normally exploits neither QuickTime components, nor reverse-engineered decoders from ffmpeg library... So as to be able to successfully import ProRes media into Adobe products you have to get QuickTime 7 installed (the latest version is 7.7.4). If your files are not corrupted and you didn't somehow install something like K-Lite codec pack on your machine, you should be good to go.

  • How do i set up flash player to run only the audio files

How do I set up the flash player to run only audio files?  Every time i set up I tunes to work,, the flash player takes over all files that it wants and I cannont see my files for work.  I want it to only auto run audio files and not my GIF's, & TIFF files.

Well I had a terrible brain burp!,, I ment to say Quick Time.  In my business I have to go back at times and view TIFF files.  Every since I installed ITunes on my new computer...  Quick Time opens the files where MS Photo Viewer used to, and I can only see page 1 in Quick Time.  This is a problem for me as the only way I can view my TIFF files is to save them to my desk top and then open them in MS Photo Viewer.  Then I have to delete them after viewing..  I view files several times a day and this extra step has become a very larg pain in the fanny.

  • Exporting slideshow leaves includes only one audio file, leaves off others

I have a slideshow which is fairly long, and uses several songs from an iTunes playlist. When I play the slideshow in iPhoto, the slideshow works perfectly. However, when I export the slideshow, either by exporting to a Quicktime movie or sending to iDVD, the photos export properly, but only the first audio file from the playlist is included in the slideshow. Therefore, when I play it, either in iDVD or Quicktime, the slideshow has audio until the first song ends, then the slideshow has no audio, and is completely silent.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a way around it?
    Brad

    Hi Bradley,
Yes, others are experiencing it and it is a new bug introduced from one of the updates. apple is aware of it and so far no solution has been found.
Only one song exporting with Slideshows
Right now, this seems to be a know problem/bug. There have been some work-arounds. Don't know if the problem is with iPhoto, Quicktime or a combo of both.
-From Bob Worthington: re-ripping the cuts I wanted as background music for the DVD as a single cut in iTunes. I then made a playlist containing the one extended cut of music.
-Old Toad: share to Quicktime from iPhoto and then import the resulting movie into iMovie you can extract and delete the audio from the video and add the two songs to the video and save.
Quicktime Pro-open the movie and bring up the Movie Properties menu window. In the top window select the audio track and delete it.
If you want more than one song you'll have to join them together with iMovie or some other application. Then open that joined file with QT Player. Then do a select all and copy. Now go to the QT window of the movie and select the Edit->Add to Movie menu option. You don't want to scale it because it will change the play speed of the audio unless it's time is exactly the same as the movie.
You could go the other way, open the movie, select all and copy, and then past with scaling to the audio. That will change the speed of the movie and transitions to fit the audio track. In this case the resulting video file will have the name of the audio track file that you started with.
You may have to play with it a bit to get exactly what you want. Be sure to work with copies of all the media files for the project.
-Peter Burtwistle: I opened the Qt movie that iPhoto makes when you export to iDVD and removed the sound track.
Then made a new soundtrack by opening all three songs in QT, then cutting and pasting them together.
Finally use QT Pro's 'Add to Movie" option to add the soundtrack to the original movie.
This worked well and was fast to do too.
-Joe Lombardo: I ended up having to extend the songs by 20 seconds so I brought them all into GarageBand and made some edits. Then I exported them all to iTunes as a single track and used that for the slideshow

  • Compressor only yields audio file

I am compressing http://compressor academic 3.0.5 a FCP project and only get an audio file. I am using the same settings I have used for the last year... DVD best quality 120 mins which would normally give me a dolby digital file audio and an MPEG 2.5.0 vid file, plus a batch file.
My DVD burner suddenly is burning DVD's that won't play on the TV, when I asked about this in the forum before I was told to try it in another DVD player...I just did a batch of burning 2 weeks ago and everything was working.
    Please any suggestions
    catherine

Make certain you set the destination to the same place for both audio and video.
As to "all of a sudden" DVDs are burned that won't play, make certain that you haven't created a HD DVD instead of SD DVD.

  • When exporting 708 captions from Premiere Pro CC I only see the first 708 caption. Help?

Hi, our company just switched from Final Cut Pro 7 to Premiere Pro CC and we went from macs to PCs. I use the CaptionMaker program to create .mcc 608/708 caption files that I import into premiere, and I'm having a problem with the 708 captions. I embed the 708 captions in an mxf op1a file (I'm attaching a screen grab of my sequence and export settings) that I then copy to an XDCam disc, but when I play the disc back and check captions through our QC monitor I only see the first 708 caption and then the rest never appear. The 608 captions are there, but just the first 708 shows up. I've also had this problem when I print to video and when I create the captions in premiere instead of importing a caption file from CaptionMaker. And I was able to see 708 captions on a source that was captioned out of house so I know my QC monitor is working properly. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me to try? Thanks for your time.

I am not sure what product the dubbing house is using to master the tape.  I will try to find out.  As far as the file creation, I am using MacCaption to create the 608 & 708 .mcc file.  Bringing this in to Premiere and exporting out the MXF file.  I have contacted Telestream, the owner of MacCaption, there head of support says that other customers have had the same problem exporting out of Premiere.  They have tested caption files and the files are fine that this is a problem in Premiere.

  • I am trying to export a video from Premiere Pro.  I have both audio and video checked and the sequence is active but only the audio exports.  There is no video at all.  Can anyone tell me how to get the video to export.  It was working fine until today.

Premiere Pro CC has been working fine until today.  I have completed my sequence and it is active.  I have both audio and video checked when I am exporting using H.264 with Match Source Hi bitrate.  I am choosing entire sequence.  The audio exports but the video and title does not.  Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this so I can complete this project?  Please!

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Unable to import or export ratings & labels from PC to MAC...HELP PLEASE!

I want to copy my cache files from a PC with windows OS to a mac in order to keep labels, ratings etc visible in my mac. But, I can't manage this transfer successfully even though i've tried through tools>build and export cache. Can anyone tell me how to transfer the cache files from the pc to the mac and so that the cache file are actually legible in the Adobe Bridge in the mac?

Can anyone tell me how to transfer the cache files from the pc to the mac and so that the cache file are actually legible in the Adobe Bridge in the mac?
Assuming you did use Bridge also on PC the labels and ratings should be available after just copy files from PC to Mac, either directly or via external HD. (Mac reads most of the HD formats but not al of them!)
Labels, rating and IPTC metadata are stored in the file itself when using common formats like jpeg, PSD Tiff etc. DNG files have the info also written in the file itself. Only Raw files use a side car XMP file to store this data in.
If you have set the option to save image settings in Sidecar XMP files (on by default in the camera raw preferences in Bridge) all your info is already stored in those files (same filename as the raw but with the file extension .xmp instead of the raw format)
Bridge handles XMP files as hidden so to see if you have them go to the menu View and select 'show hidden files'. When the sort order is at filename you will see the XMP icons next to the image thumb itself.
Or just look in the folder where you stored them on your hard drive.
On your Mac Bridge needs to cache them first so that takes some time but then your rating and labeling should also appear again. ( I don't think it is wise to copy the cache files because the systems are different but that is just a guess, not experience. However new cache build dis not much work and with a lot of files you can do it overnight)
If you have also build a keyword list you should export the list on your PC (use the little wing menu top right of the keyword panel) and import the list again using the same menu in Bridge. The keywords are also still in the file but will appear in italic until you choose to make them persistent with right mouse click. That is however a lot of work and export import of the keyword list will solve that.
And feel free to try, you are only copying the files (and you already had made an extra back up, ain't it...) so nothing bad can happen then

  • Did the new update screw something up? My AME won't queue from Premiere

It was working fine last time I used it, but now when I go to File > Export > Media in Premiere, select my settings, and click Queue, it will open Media Encoder and then nothing will queue. The queue remains blank with the "Not currently encoding" dialogue. So I try again with Encoder already open. Encoder will flash for a second (move to the front of my screen in front of Premiere and then move behind it again), but still won't add anything to the queue.
So I restarted everything and tried again, no luck. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro CC altogether, no luck. Encoder will also not open a project or sequence to queue when I use encoder's internal File > Add Premiere Pro Sequence. I select Open, but the queue remains blank.
Could this be completely unrelated to the update? I installed the CS6 family recently so that I could use Encore, and I uninstalled everything but Encore shortly after. Could that have altered how Premiere Pro CC and AME CC communicate? Should I uninstall and reinstall my entire creative cloud? Thank you for your help!

I think AME installation has gotten corrupted somehow.
Please try each of these steps and see if they help:
    1. Hold the shift key while launching AME.  it will reset AME's settings. Perhaps one of these settings got corrupted.
try your tests, see if that helps.
    If that doesn't help...
    2. Well, I don't have any other solution except to uninstall AME and re-install it.
unfortunately, AME doen't have it's own installer.  In order to uninstall AME properly, you have to uninstall all the apps that install it.  So please uninstall all these CC apps if you have them on your system.  Flash pro, Premeire pro, AE, Indesign, Prelude.  Now check to see if AME is still on your system or not.  It should be gone.  if you still have AME 7.1 on your system, uninstall the remaining CC products until AME is uninstalled along with it.  Make sure AME application is not on your system any longer.  If you still have AME on your system, well, that's not good.  we have to run a cleaner tool to remove it. hopefully it won't get to that point. Now that AME is uninstalled, you can re-install just Premiere Pro CC. See if the issue is resolved.  Hopefully this will solve the issue.
Let us know if you still have issues after following these steps.

  • How do I import and export PDF's from Ibooks

How do I import and export PDF files from Ibooks on the IMAC running Mavericks?
How do I sync my PDF files in IBooks to the IPAD when they were not purchased from the bookstore?
I noticed that I could email the PDF and then add it to IBOOKS on the IPAD.
Is there a 3rd party IBOOK type reader that will address this issue?
When I upgraded Mavericks it moved all of my PDF files in ITUNES application to IBOOKS and removed all reference to those
books in ITUNES. When I purchase a book from IBOOKS store on the IMAC, the books shows up in IBOOKS on the IPAD.
All of my PDF files will not sync up with the IPAD.
I do hope this is a problem that Apple will address and would like to know when the fix will be available.

    Hello,
Thank you. I found that option you pointed out. I can now change it from 1080i to 1080p and I can chance the resolution. However I still can't change the frame rate. It still stays at 29.97.
Could this be due to the camera? I am using a Canon VIXIA HF S100 with 30p and 24p frame rate options. I suspect that it does not really shoot at true 24p and only does 24p within 60i.
Frankly, I don't really care about getting 24p support too much but it would be very nice to have the option.
I'll keep toying with the program. Still, anymore ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you Wild Giles.

  • Can't See Audio Files in iDvd for Slide Shows Once Applied

When you select music from iTunes for the iDvd Slideshow (I created it in iDVD, not in iPhoto), there is no place to see what songs you have in the playlist. Unlike the photos in the slideshow that can be removed and moved around.
There should be a similar window for the Audio so that you can add or delete selections.
It may be that it is easier to do this in iPhoto rather than in iDVD. I'll try that next.
Thanks to anyone who knows if I've missed the place to see the songs to be played for the iDvd slideshow.
    Thanks.
