Only show selected movies on AppleTV 2
Some of the movies in my iTunes library I would prefer to hide from or make otherwise not accessible for my kids when they use the ATV2.
On the ATV1 i was able to simply uncheck the movie in iTunes and then re-sync. In ATV2 the movie remains visible when unchecked (?). ATV2 has parental control, but that is very clumsy and also does not work with ripped movies (e.g. my old James Bond collection).
I need a solution that allows me to keep an overview of all the movies that I own at least in iTunes.

You could rate your non purchased content with a 3rd party solution such as iFlicks (There are others), but as you say it might restrict them from playback but it doesn't hide them.
Yes it's a step backwards from the Apple TV 1 and I don't have an ideal solution, but here is one workaround:
Create another user account, remove the offending content from iTunes in your current user account and place it in iTunes in the new user account. This allows you to close iTunes in the second user account and hide the offending content.
This solution will only work on a mac as it allows two user accounts to run different instances of iTunes at the same time, I don't believe windows does this.

I restarted computer (PC) and all of my Apple TVs (3), and it still only shows 27 movies. I don't know if these movies are in my iCloud, but they are the same movies for all the Apple TVs.
I ran into this problem this morning, and after spending an hour trying to figure out what the heck happened after the 6.0 upgrade, I finally figured out my problem.
Check the, "Home Videos" category via your Apple TV. I have no idea why this happened after the upgrade, but my videos and playlist now show up in the "Home Videos" category. -
I only want Home Sharing to ONLY show selected playlists
How do I get my 2010 AppleTV to only see selected content from my iTunes Library? I went into iTunes, Preferences, Sharing, and selected Share selected playlists. Then I picked a few of them. Trouble is, I am still seeing my full library when I view it under Computers on the AppleTV. What am I doing wrong?
This is frustrating. I have all the latest models and OS's running, and there is no way to hide my iTunes **** stash from AppleTV. On Thanksgiving, everyone wanted to see pictures of the new house, and I was soooo excited to show everyone house snazzy AppleTV was and how you could look through photos from the computer. And then I realized navigating through the menus that it was probable there would be video thumbnails popping up on the screen that I would have to blaze by to get to the photos tab. Not good. I aborted the mission midstream, and had to blame 'technology' and resort of pulling out the computer. Clearly, Apple is not designing software for those of us who mingle our **** with the rest of our lives. The checkbox thing does not work. The parental controls do not work (either on AppleTV or in iTunes). I suppose the best way to hide certain stuff is to create a different library for iTunes and then select that library when you open iTunes. Then it seems there would be no way things could slip through the cracks...so to speak.

Home sharing can only show songs movies, but not books and apps

but can only see songs, and movies in the sharing, but not books and apps.

Why only sometimes does movies on Apple Tv show the buy option, I need it there all the time?
Two reasons:
The movie companies control what Apple can sell/rent - sometimes they simply change it to purchase only or rental only.
Secondly, if your Settings for Itunes store are set to HD sometimes you won't see an option to purchase or even teh movie at all if it's only available in SD.
There are also sometimes discrepancies between iTunes on computer and AppleTV implying the stores work slightly differently or have different connections. Check if it's available in iTunes.

AppleTV only shows unwatched items
Until recently I have happily streamed all my iTunes video to the AppleTV, with content showing up as watched or unwatched as appropriate.
However since roughly the time of the iTunes 9.0 upgrade I've noticed that AppleTV 'hides' watched items as soon as they're complete. Rather frustrating. I don't sync any content over so it can't be that it's only showing synced items (something another person suggested)
Anyone got any ideas? Everything's as up to date as possible.I'm not clear from your post if you've set the itunes connection up as a streaming library (any but the top entry in Settings>Computers on AppleTV) or as a sync library (that also streams automatically).
If you right click on the AppleTv device in iTunes you'll either have a 'Stop streaming' or 'Stop syncing' option which will tell you which it is. (Don't select it just read it).
Anyhow if you have more than 2 tabs available in the device for this AppleTV you're likely to be syncing, so check the setting therel - it's possible iTunes 9 has reset some parameters or added something new.

My deleted contacts still show up when I want to send a text message. But when I go to my address book there not there only when I want to send a text MSG there name comes up and if I select them it only show there number not name in the message. How an I get rid of that
Try this...
have a text convo with the person you want to delete. Go to the top contact in the text convo, hit edit contact, and delete that contact.
That resolution came from another thread on this issue, and this did solve to poster's issue. -

Could you please tell me why as a Brit resident in Japan therefore having a billing address that is Japanese is forced to only get service from the Japanese online store? Is there not some way of allowing me to select movies and music to buy and download from other stores. Why do am i forced to try to nread Japanese when I have selected English as my language. The price for Downloads is no different and even if it was I am happy to pay. This also applies to Movie rental which is crazy and extremely restrictive. I a supposed GLOBAL community why does Apple do this.
You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence (As proven by valid billing address of credit card) and ONLY while inside the borders of that country.

How do I ONLY show movies that are downloaded on my devices ?
On my iPad I want to only display the movies they can watch without being connected to a network, the ones I have downloaded to that device, is this a setting option?
You can also go to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Show all>Videos>Off. That will remove the movies that you have in iCloud, but that are not actually on the iPad, from the videos app.
You can turn off music in that setting as well, if you like. -
AppleTV 3 only showing Apple logo when connected to very new Panasonic plasma - worked Ok with older Panasonic (2007) - have reset AppleTV, tried 3 HDMI cables.
Tried again as you suggested - no luck. Ref sequence below
A. Pressed menu & down to reset Apple TV
B after reset & restart pressed menu & up buttons to change resolution. After pressing both buttons for 6 sec, LED starts flashing - released both buttons. TV screen blank. After 20 to 30 sec horizontal lines came on screen remained for 20 sec then screen again went blank. Waited for couple minutes. LED still flashing - pressed Menu button for 2/3 sec - flashing stopped & LED glows continuously. Screen blank
C. Reset the unit again by pressing menu & down. When it restarted - while LED was still flashing, got orange color screen with Apple logo in the middle. This screen remained till LED stopped flashing & then screen went blank -
I have an Insignia with built in DVD player. It worked fine (in Color) for the first year or so. Now no matter what I do
every movie only shows in Green. Any suggestions?sounds like an issue with the internal dvd player. I would try connecting an external to the TV and see if you get the same results. Sounds like an issue between the output of the dvd player to the display (all internal) If it works externally then i would stick with the external solution.

Appletv only showing pink music icon
I'm new to Appletv (today) and my tv screen will only show an image of the unit plus a cable and the pink music icon. I can't get back to the menu so can't do anything. Am i stuck until i buy a micro usb cable? If so I'm not happy.

Selection Screen on Web Report only show filter area varieables.

I am using WAD 3.5 and web template uses the query developed in 3.5, This report has two selection variables one in filter area and one in Rows section.
We recently did the Ehp 1 upgrade and after that it automatically showing only variable selection for character in Filter area. To show all I have to hit "All".
For Query designer query I was able to change the property in RSRT but for Web report I am not able to change and it is still showing only one selection screen instead of Two .
Have you faced any such issue. Please can you share your thoghts on how to correct it.

if you are able to see both variables in rsrt we could say that the variable definition are ok ( option: ready for input in variable definition)
So open the web report on web application designer and in the web template Properties search for "Force Variable Screen display" option and check this option.
