Only Show Unwatched Episodes

Ok, so maybe I am crazy, but previous to updating to 3.0 (or 3.0.1) I thought when you chose 'Unwatched' from My TV shows it would display the unwatched shows and then when you chose a show it would only show unwatched episodes. However now it shows unwatched shows and then when you choose a show it shows ALL shows.
Is this correct? Has it always been this way? Selecting 'Unwatched' is nice to filter down the TV shows, but it makes a lot more sense to filter the episodes too. I'd like to sync everything and just be able to filter out the things I have watched quickly.
I am currently doing an 'Automatic' sync, but have tried switching it to 'Custom' and still the same thing.

It has changed slightly but don't while I can see it is a bit annoying, I myself haven't had too much issue dealing with it.
Prior as you said, unwatched shows just shows that were unwatched then when you went into show to see episodes, you saw just the unwatched ones.
Now as you said, unwatched shows shows that have unwatched shows then going in to see episodes you see all episodes of that show.
While I can see it is a bit different, at least you are filtered to the show so your initial lists were small and quick to find unwatched stuff. Then you get all episodes of that show and blue dots for ones that are unwatched.
Not sure of the logic for the change, but is it really that bad?

  • ITunes only shows 10 episodes posted at a time

Hello...I am trying to figure out why iTunes only publishes 10 episodes of my podcast at a time.  I just posted episode 17 of The Seamus & Opie Show and everytime I post a new episode the oldest one drops off.  How do I keep ALL the posts listed at the same time?  Please help.

Please always post the URLs of the Store and your feed when you have a query - how do you expect to get an answer if I can't look at the feed?
Searching on the title you give brings up a podcast at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-seamus-opie-show/id500495929
    using a feed at
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheSeamusOpieShow
Is this the correct podcast? All 17 episodes show, both in the Store page and when subscribing.

  • After submitting a podcast, it only shows one episode and never updates?

The podcast was approved on the 17th September, but it only ever showed one episode, and has never updated.  Can anyone help?
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/bethany-church-warrington/id562744688 pulls a feed from http://bethanywarrington.com/blog/?feed=rss2&cat=4
The feed is generated from Wordpress.  Thanks

Thank you, I think you're right.  The 12th september one has an extra line in the RSS:
    <enclosure url="http://bethanywarrington.com/audio/120909%20Sermon%20John%20Addison.mp3" length="0" type="audio/mpeg" />
Every post should have this, because they all have links to MP3 files.  The only weird thing is, I don't know how made this one post different, because I always submit every MP3 the same way with a link in the main body of text.  How do you think I could add that into every post?

  • My feed only shows one episode, please help

Im using Drupal to publish a podcast the original feed is: http://enredat.org/rss.xml
and using feedburner to publish to itunes: http://feeds.feedburner.com/enreda-t
    my itunes url is: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/enreda-t/id492031599
Im not sure how to fix it, im new to this, please help
    Thank you

Thanks, this did the trick for me as well. I have a podcast that is currently up to 3 episodes, but iTunes (both the store and the subscribed feed itself) only showed episode 1, even after several days.
I'm using WordPress, with the PowerPress plugin. After reading this thread, I checked the raw XML of my feed and noticed that only the first episode had the <enclosure> tag containing the URL of the episode's MP3.
I quickly realized I had made a silly mistake: PowerPress adds another section below the text box on the WordPress post editing page, where you explicitly supply the URL of the MP3. I had done that on episode 1 but had forgotten on subsequent episodes.
Immediately after making the change, I was able to refresh the subscribed feed in iTunes and the new episodes showed up. They're not in the store yet, but I expect they will be within 24 hours when it gets refreshed.

  • AppleTV only shows unwatched items

Until recently I have happily streamed all my iTunes video to the AppleTV, with content showing up as watched or unwatched as appropriate.
However since roughly the time of the iTunes 9.0 upgrade I've noticed that AppleTV 'hides' watched items as soon as they're complete. Rather frustrating. I don't sync any content over so it can't be that it's only showing synced items (something another person suggested)
Anyone got any ideas? Everything's as up to date as possible.

I'm not clear from your post if you've set the itunes connection up as a streaming library (any but the top entry in Settings>Computers on AppleTV) or as a sync library (that also streams automatically).
If you right click on the AppleTv device in iTunes you'll either have a 'Stop streaming' or 'Stop syncing' option which will tell you which it is. (Don't select it just read it).
Anyhow if you have more than 2 tabs available in the device for this AppleTV you're likely to be syncing, so check the setting therel - it's possible iTunes 9 has reset some parameters or added something new.

  • IWeb Podcast Blog: Main Page Only Allows 5 Episodes: Submitting to iTunes

    Hello-
I have a podcast published with iWeb '08's podcast blog. I noticed that the main page of the podcast only shows previews of 5 episodes that you can click on. I know that you can easily change this with the inspector, but I don't want to have to many on the main page which will cause long page loading times. The problem is, in the RSS feed, it only shows the five episodes on the main page. I submitted this RSS feed to the iTunes store and got it accepted, but, just as I suspected, iTunes only shows the episodes in the RSS feed. *Is there a way to get a RSS feed for the archive of my podcast? If so, how can I change the feed iTunes has?* Could I just insert a RSS feed button on the archive page? Would that work?
    Thanks for all the help-
If this helps, my podcast is located at www.greatcommercialspodcast.com

If you go to the podcast page and use the inspector, clicking the RSS button at the top of the inspector window, then click blog you will see that it allows you to change the number of episodes shown on the main page. Could it be this?

  • Only uploads SOME episodes of tv show purchased from iTunes?

I downloaded an entire TV series season (as a unit, not each episode individually). When I hook up my iPod to my computer, only 3 of the 13 episodes transfer. Any idea why this is happening, and is there anyway to get the other 10 episodes onto my iPod?

Do you have the iPod set to sync only unwatched episodes?
Connect your iPod, then when the summary screen appears click on the TV shows tab to check.

    Your feed is at http://blacktribbles.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
When subscribed to in iTunes the recent episodes show, but the Store hasn't updated for some time.
There appears to be an issue with the feed. In the episode 'WRESTLING MARCH MADNESS: Final Bracket & Championship' of 31st March you will find in the 'description' tag the following line:
    4. KURT ANGLE
At the end of this line is an invisible character which seems to be wrecking the feed - although it works OK when suscribing in iTunes it won't load in a browser (and I also found the feed very slow to load, which won't help matters with the Store)
This sort of thing usually happens when you paste text in from a word processing application and manage to include one of the invisible control characters. I don't know how easy it will be do do it in Podomatic but you should delete that entire line and retype it to remove this charter.
You should keep an eye on the time it takes the feed to be accessed - if there is a long enough delay (and it was quite some seconds when I tried) the Store may well timeout and fail to read it. At the moment it's showing a cached version from the last time it was able to read it.

  • Not showing past episodes of podcasts. i.e. Comedu Bang Bang shows 301 episodes but I can only see ten. WHY?

Not showing past episodes of podcasts. i.e. Comedu Bang Bang shows 301 episodes but I can only see ten. WHY?

When I search the store for 'Comedy Bang Bang', on the results screen I get :
To the far right of the Podcast Episodes heading is a 'see all' button/link. Or clicking on the podcast name above it takes me to that podcast's episodes.
On the list for that particular podcast I see whitespace if I scroll down the screen too quickly, but scrolling back gets them to (slowly) appear.

    Hi bibisandoval,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If the movie has completely downloaded, I recommend deleting the movie and downloading it again from your list of purchased movies. See this article for the steps:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to play the movie, you can report an issue with this purchase using the steps in this article:

  • I have downloaded a TV episode of itunes but it is only showing the HD version. How do I get the SD version to play on my ipod?

I have downloaded a TV episode of itunes but it is only showing the HD version. How do I get the SD version to play on my ipod?

When buying HD versions of shows, only the HD copy will automatically download now (probably due to requests from people who don't need/want the SD version and complained about it being forced on them). The SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select TV shows. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the shows and be able to download them.
    Regards.

  • Why is i-tunes only showing my 1st 5 episodes?

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-pot-cast/id437400241
    and here is the feed
    http://web.me.com/therealpotheads/The__Real_Potheads/The_Pot_Cast/rss.xml
I have 6 episodes but i-tunes is only showing the first 5. It's working well on iweb.
                                -Mike

iTunes is showing all six episodes. It's actually picked up the most recent very quickly, as it's dated today. It often takes 1-2 days before new episodes appear in the Store (because the Store caches the feed and checks it periodically for updates) although subscribers will see new episodes immediately.

  • ATV "10 Least Recent Unwatched Episodes" issue

Okay, I am so excited that they finally included a "10 Least Recent Unwatched" episode option with the new ATV update. However, I am the only person whose episodes are not syncing in the order they should?
    EX:
I have the entire series of Sex And The City and I wanted to just sync the 10 least recent unwatched episodes and view them. I am in Season Two episode 3 (which is unwatched). BUT when I sync, using the "10 least recent unwatched" option is syncs episodes; 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18. But mind you episodes 3 - 18 are all "unwatched" so one would think it would sync episodes 3 - 13. Why is this happening?

I think iTunes is using the order in which the show was added. So if you added a bunch of them at once, it's using the order in which it decided to process them. So to make it work right, you have to remove everything, then re-add them in order.

  • How to identify Unwatched episodes?

On the gen 1 ATV unwatched episodes were easily identifiable. Is there a way to highlight on the gen 2 ATV which episodes have not been watched?
At the moment I see "recent" , "all" , and then the various generes. No indication of unwatched episodes. I have to click into each show/episode to read the synopsis to figure out if I e watched it or not.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

As I said, when you use the purchased option you are connecting to the iTunes store and redownloading what you have already purchased, the iTunes store does not keep track of what you have watched, only what you have purchased.
It's the iTunes application on your mac/PC/iPad or whatever that keeps track of whether you've watched something or not, you can only use the watched/unwatched/play count feature of iTunes, if you use iTunes, which means homesharing.

  • Itunes doesn't show all episodes of a subscribed podcast

    Hi,
I am new to itunes and couldn't find the answer to this question:
how can I see all episodes of a subscribed podcast? In my library it only shows the most recent one.
      Windows Vista

If you see an arrow pointing to the right, next to the titlem change it so that it's pointing downwards. That should show all the eps & download all the episodes.
