Only some movies I have placed in iTunes "Movies" are viewable via Apple TV. Why? Also some movies have blue dots in front of their titles and some don't . Why?

Please understand I am a frustrated customer like you, , but the availability of movies that have been shown before is dependant on licencing from the rights owners. Sky quite rightly have to pay the film studios for the ability to show to Sky's customers. As I understand it they purchase the right for a period of time, hence when the right expires then it has to be removed. The costing of the movies does reflect on the anticipated popularity of the programme, hence an older less popular movie might seem expensive but if not many people watch and pay that would be right. The apparent silliness of having movies in the store and on demand, allows those people who do not have a movie subscription to rent the movie on a one off basis. I agree that Sky seem to be licencing some programmes for shorter periods and it really upsets me when movies appear in buy and keep but not available to rent only. I recently queried Sky about Fortitude being available in OnDemand until 2022!, then of course found out that Sky owns the rights of the series. I can only say be careful if you are a movies subscriber and wish to watch a movie, not to select the Sky Store version if it is available in the Movies on Demand section. I recently wanted to watch a film that I found in Sky store at a cost, and just to be sure I searched for it and found it was to be shown on Channel 4 in a few days. I don't think we'll ever understand how such decision are made as to how long they licence movies for and how the charging model works with the film studios. Logically you would think that a smallish fee to have available indefinately and to pay the studio fee based on the number of rentals would be better, but that might be difficult to administer and Sky would have to have extra server storage fees, which they outsource. If not then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your Mac's iTunes find it ? If that doesn't find it then see if it shows in the 'redownloading' area under Quicklinks :
Whether you can redownload the film depends upon what country that you are in, and if the studio/rights-holder allows redownloading. Does the film appear under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes

CS6 to older, or newer to CS6?

Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

I just rented a movie from my iPad2 and tried to play it through my ATV2 with AirPlay and same problem.... This is absurd guys. Apple I know there are copyright hoops to jump through but come on!! The whole pitch behind AirPlay and AppleTV was to make it easy to watch my purchases on my TV no matter what device they were on. Now I've got to hold my iPad in front of my face to watch a movie for nearly 3 hours!! And when I go to the support site I have no option other than to send an email to billing, screw this. I've not bought a DVD since I purchased my ATV2 over a year ago but if you guys are gonna pull this crap then what incentive do I have to continue the use of something that may or may not work the way it was advertised.
By the way, this is the first time I've had this problem because I normally rent straight off the ATV or my computer, which by the way I was considering replacing my PC with an iPad but looks like you guys aren't ready for me to make that kind of a switch.

I had a problem with a 5.0.3 project that would cause 5.0.4 to crash. Apple asked for a copy of the project and later told me it was because there were some empty text layers. Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
In my case I still had 5.0.3 on another Mac and could clean up the project. If empty text layers might be the problem, do you know someone with an earlier version who could open it and remove the empty layers? I'd be willing to give it a try if you'd want to send me the project.

...if you're running Mountain Lion. I'm in clamshell mode right now, so I don't have any mirroring options. AFAIK, there's no more "Show displays in menu bar" in Mountain Lion.

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Purchased movies from iTunes on iPad. Movies have transferred to iTunes on Mac BUT I'm unable to wee/watch movies on my Apple TV. I can see all the other movies I have purchased on iTunes on my AppleTV but NONE of the movies that I purchased on my iPad.

This one has me confused. I have all my devices set up for home sharing. I can stream music and movies from my iphone to my Apple TV. I can stream from my iMac to my Apple TV and from my iPad to my Apple TV.
However, the movies that I originally bought with iTunes on my iPad have transfered to my iTunes on my iMac BUT I can not access these movies through my Apple TV.
The movies I bought on iTunes on my iMac have a small half blue circle and the ones purchased on my iPad do not. Not sure what this means...
This has me really confused and I'm sure it might be nothing more than a simple setting somewhere but I would love to figure this out. It's almost like there is some digital right on these movies and it's not allwing me to access this from my other Apple devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Movies in my iMac's iTunes do not show up Apple TV(1st Gen)

So frustrated. Movies in my iMac's iTunes do not show up on my Apple TV(1st Gen) in the Shared Movie area. I've done the Media Type fix to "movie." I've re-started and re-booted and changed the Apple TV from ethernet to wireless and re-connected iTunes. Renamed the library. Everything's up to date. Grrr.

I have now restored Factory Settings on the Apple TV. Looked promising until iTunes hangs everytime I tried to enter the podcast page of the sync options. And I get errors that my newest movies, created in Final Cut Pro X with the Share with 720p Apple Devices export settings are not compatible with Apple TV.

Because the file are no longer where they were when they were imported into your computer and added to your iTunes Library.
Did you move, rename or delete the files after adding them to your iTunes Library?
Do you use any other programmes, which may have moved, renamed or deleted the files, for example, Windows Media Player?
Were the files added to your computer's hard drive, or to an external drive which is no longer connected, or has a different drive letter now?

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps
