Only some pages of my website made with Muse can't be edit in the Business Catalyst Admin Console... How access all my pages edit possibilities ?

My website is made with Adobe Muse and published with Business Catalyst.
Some pages can be edit on the Business Catalyst Console, but, unfortunately, some other pages can't.
Why some pages and not others ?

I have try the edit mode with Firefox and Chrome and no one doesn’t work.
For the french pages, I must reload the page to have the blue blocks. And if I do that on an english one, it switches on the french one...

Hi,
I have just checked at my end and it seems everything is working fine and I am able to edit even the English version pages.
Can you please try some other browser or in a different system to edit your site and check if you are able to do so.

There are a few bugs with the simap.xml generation but basically you have got a manual sitemap.xml there.
Because you see it in the folder structure (you should not if it is dynamic) it is a static sitemap.xml and will never be udpated by the system.
Delete that one there and if you go here in the new UI: /AdminConsole/#!/Utilities/SEO.aspx
Ensure the sitemap.xml is turned on.
Wait for a day and you should see the new sitemap come to life.

Template published with Muse in a subfolder is ignored by Business Catalyst

I published a Muse site to a subfolder in BC.
When I create a BC template by inserting {tag_pagecontent} on a page.
The published template is ignored by BC.
It creates a "templates" folder in my subfolder, the page is put there...
But when I want to select it as a template in any of the popups where you normally find your templates, the page isn't there.
If I move it manually in BC to the top level "template" folder, it pops up everywhere.
It would be nice if BC "looked" in "template" folders in subfolders as well.
This has been posted on the BC forum as well.

To do stuff like that will always need custom coding and things like API work. You will never be able to use Muse for that, its a basic site design tool that can hook up to BC modules. You will need to use coding software and have custom API work done for things like this.

No but you might try Flux. It can open existing websites and is a very good alternative to iWeb which has been discontinued by Apple. You can still use iWeb but will have to build your site from scratch. If you do decide to use iWeb check out Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site which has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the creation of the new site.

When the computer was new, I had the same issue I have now. It was new and I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. Today, I can not burn to play on a reg cd player. Inbetween, I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. I keep giving up and then trying months later.
I have recently made the cds that play on the computer. I have also tried in the last month to make a dvd copy, it played. I have gone to people's homes and tried the cd's burned in my computer. They are not recognized. This last round I have only used the cd-r but have tried many others in the past. I am running out of money to keep buying different brands, kinds, etc. I figured it must be my lac of knowledge and am trying to get some new here.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

When you break it down..
- Ecommerce implementation that hooks into payment gateways.
- PCI Level 1 compliance
- Intergraated SSL so you do not need to pay for a certificate
- SAAS - Updates and new features auto installed which you do not have to worry about
- Support access to Adobe support staff most of the week
- Server support, mainatance etc which you do not have to do or pay for
- Blog, eCommerce etc all in one and not having to pay extra for along with the big one...
- Marketing system in there and 10 email accounts as well in there.
When you consider the stability and scalability and start adding those costs on other systems, to get to that level you would be paying as much if not more anyway and have your bits scattered across multiple systems trying to integrate them in.

In my site is a formular made with the HTML Widget of iWeb.
And if you only click on the send button it shows you a jQuery Dialog.
But you can't see the full Dialog.

I would only that the jQuery Dialog appears in the middle of the main website and not in the HTML Snippet!

Open the webpage after publishing and add the code there.

And why would you want to use jQeury for a <form> ?

If you want to try another website creating package, I would have a look at http://www.webacappella.fr. Somebody else on this forum said that they were going to use this, so I had a look at it myself and was quite impressed by it.
You can download the free version to try it out and see what you think, but it is very easy to use and you can drag and drop and it does contain things that we all wished that iWeb has, such as the ability to integrate buttons with rollover and you can also add drop down menus, contact forms and Google maps and you can also publish to any server.
There is no learning curve involved, as with things like Flux 4 and it is very simple and intuitive to use - you can use a built in template and modify it or you can start from scratch and create your own template and once you have your header, navigation menu and footer in place, you can save all this and then apply it to all your other pages with a click and then with other pages, you can just go in and alter the content. If you wish to alter the template, you just go to the template page and alter it there and every other page is then altered automatically.
You can also add your own code if you want to. This tool might just give the new EasyWeb software from Rage a run for its money and the other good thing about WebAcappella is that you are not tied into purchasing hosting, like you will be with Rage - you can publish to any server that you want.
Have a look and see for yourelf. The only other draw back is that it is not cheap to buy, but you can download it and use the free version to see what you think. The paid version has SEO built into it.

Editing a website made with iWeb

I don't know what information I need in order to gain access to "edit" it. I understand how the program works and everything, but I just need to Edit it and I don't want to create a whole new website. Thanks so much!

You'll need to obtain the Domain.sites file that the webmaster used originally to create and publish the website. Once you get a copy of it you will be able to make any changes to the site, publish those changes to a folder on your hard drive and then upload them to the server with a 3rd party FTP client like YummyLIte, Transmit or Cyberduck.
If you're running Lion or Mt. Lion the following will apply:
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

I found out how to do it, you drag the bounding box of the image container or rectangle to the edge of the browser boundary - as in the gray area around the edge - it snaps to it and the edges of the container go red to show this, and when its previewed it spans 100% of browser width. Is there any way to connect a mobile site made with Muse to a MySQL database?

I've began the beginning stages of building a mobile site with the trial version of Muse and am really enjoying the functionality and ease of use. I'm eager to purchase the full version but one question stands in the way at the moment.
The plan with this mobile site is to have it offer many if not all of the same features and functionalities of the desktop version. In order to achieve this I need to be able to sync the site up with a MySQL database, is there any way to achieve this in Muse? If not is it possible to do this once the site has been exported as HTML or uploaded to an FTP host?

It would take a significant amount of work as you would have to change the pages to PHP. You would also lose any more compatibility with Muse.
An alternative would be to host with Adobe Business Catalyst and upgrade to the eCommerce hosting plan and do your database functions using Business Catalyst Web Apps. It is a bit of a learning curve but in my opinion the better option than hosting on third party hosting and trying to convert everything.
Keep in mind that even if you change the pages to php to add mySQL connection this would all have to be done by hand or with Dreamweaver. Muse does not support Database connectivity or dynamic content. The only real practical workaround is to use Business Catalyst along with Muse.

Age verification for website built with Muse.

A site I'm building with muse needs to be able to first verify if the visitor is "18 or older" or "Under 18" only allowing them access to the site if they are 18 or older. I have seen this done on other sites using PHP script. I am a novice when it comes to code, however I with some basic instructions I can figure it out. I plan to host the site with c-panel access and I'm wondering if I can put the PHP script in the PHP fold in c-panel and then paste the HTML code in muse if this will work?? I know someone out there has built a site with Muse that has age verification. Any help would be massively appreciated.

You can certainly ask people to tell you their birthday… assume they tell the truth and hope they are so dumb that they don’t just reset the script and pick a new date when your script informs them that they aren’t allowed in but there is no way a web site script can restrict people for age because it’s just a machine and can’t think.
