If there is a hardware cause of the problem or other, they may fix it or
at least diagnose the underlying cause...
Your other post was changed into a new thread on its own, here:

When posting in an old topic, your issue may not relate to the original
cause of the problem someone had a year ago with different hardware
and another build version of OS X.

  • Intermittent beeping sound from my PC internal speaker. How to disable it?

I have a HP Pavilion 1070d PC.  I get an intermittent beeping sound from my PC internal speaker.  It seems to engage when the hard drive starts working when it's been down for a while.  How do I disable the beeping sound?

    Domgoh, welcome to the forum.
Normally, the beeps that come from a computer are BIOS beep codes.  They are warnings that something is wrong with the computer.  At the bottom of the page in the link that I provided are codes for different motherboards.  Review them to see if this is what you are receiving.

  • No sound from headphone or internal speaker

I have an iPad 4th gen, there is no sound from the internal speaker, nor from the headphone jack.  I've swapped all parts in the ipad and another motherboard works, but this one is obviously stuck in some mode I can't really explain.  When I volume up or down while on the home screen, it shows volume up and down fine, but I think it should show ringer up and down.  I plugged in headphones, and unplugged them, and it gets stuck thinking headphones are plugged in, but there is no sound from the headphones.  Youtube videos do not play, they appear to start playing but they ultimately just sit there and never play.  Itunes store sample music does not play either.  I click on the song I want to play a sample of and the play/pause effect of the sample graphic flashes and nothing happens, like I never hit play.  I've tried airplay to my apple tv, and when I select apple tv from the bottom swipe up menu, it goes right back to the ipad, it will not try to air play. This is a very strange situation and I'd like any help I can get.  I've reset all settings, upgraded ios to the latest, cleaned out the headphone port, swapped the main headphone/camera/mic/volume button cables with working ones, I've changed the internal speaker with a working speaker...I'm stuck.

    Hi,
As you mentioned, the HDMI sound may take over sound, disable HDMI sound may help. Pleae try:
    Right click the speaker icon
    Select Playback devices
Right click HDMI sound and disable it

My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked.  It only plays through it's internal speaker.  All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc).  How do I fix this?

    I would try in oreder:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Only sound from left with sum stack

Hello! When I create a sum stack this happens (only sound from left speaker:
But I want it to look like this:
All the tracks that I used to create Sum 1 worked perfectly (like Sum 2). What to do?

    Hi
There is no problem. As you said the notebook supports Line-in; headphone & S/PDIF jack and Microphone jack.
If you want to connect the HiFI or another device you have to choose the headphone & S/PDIF jack. Only this port provides the audio outputting.
The both another jacks provide only the function for signal (sound) receiving!
My notebook provides the same jacks and I have connected the notebook to HiFI (5 speakers) via Y-audio cable like this one:

    Hi,
Sorry I misunderstood, central (center) speaker is the one sit at the middle, we normally call  Left, Right and Center speakers. Anyway, what is your speaker icon (bottom right corner) says ? Does it look like this ?
    1. If NO, double click it & turn it ON
    2. If YES, right click it, select "Playback devices" and turn it ON, it should look like this:
    3. Otherwise, please post back

  • All of a sudden loud sound from the right

All of a sudden my macBook Pro is making a loud sound from the right which I think is the fan? It happens when I first turn it on so it is not too hot.
I'm concerned because my last ibook g4 had a dead hard drive in less than a year..this sound is somewhat similar to the clicking hard drive, but forgive my ignorance the hard drive is not on the right?
Is this a normal new sound? Does feel that way.
    cursed with macs.

    MissWit,
Its the fan, you got two one in each side.
I have same problem, but mine often appears when the MBP is warm or let me say been running for a while, at the same time I feel vibrations when I touch the casing or maybe housing is a better word, well the aluminium cover...
I am 99.9% sure the hard drive is located to the left.

  • Static From Right Internal Speaker

I am hearing static from the right side internal speaker whenever I adjust the volume control up or down. It lasts for about 10 seconds then goes away. Muting or volume level has no affect on the volume of the static. It also occurs when I pull up the "sound" window in "system preference" and then goes away after about 10 seconds. When I plug in headphones, though, the static is muted and I don't hear any static in the headphones. One last peculiar thing is that when I have the charger plugged in, the static occurs all the time and never goes away except when the headphones are plugged in. BTW the Macbook is only two weeks old.
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

This has happened to mine too, I'm taking it in to the apple store tomorrow to have it looked at.

  • Sound from front right speaker not working, playing out of le

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Fatalty and it'ss a little under year old with all current drivers. The front right speaker plays no sound but the front left speaker plays what is supposed to come out of the front right. I have it set on the 5. surround sound but it doesn?t work on any other settings. A week ago everything was working fine I have not installed anything new since then. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or something set wrong on my computer. Does anyone have a solution or know what may be causing this? Also I checked the speakers, they work fine.Message Edited by Nowise0 on 0-04-2006 03:52 PM

I ghave this same problem with an XFi Elite pro card and a 5. speaker system. To get sound coming out all 5 correct speakers and subwoofer i have to select 7. speaker set up then 5., then 6. and finally 5. again then it works fine - I have to do the selection in THX from game consule mode to get it to work.

  • I AM GETTING NO SOUND FROM MY RIGHT SPEAKER AND ALL VOLUME LEVELS ARE TURNED UP

I HAVE CHECKED ALL VOLUME CONTROL SETTINGS AND BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SPEAKERS ARE BALANCED AND TURNED ON 100% BUT WHEN I TEST THEM, I ONLY GET AUDIO OUTPUT WITH THE LEFT SPEAKER, AND NOTHING FROM MY RIGHT.  I HAVE AN HP PAVILLION G7 RUNNING WINDOWS 7.

I have tried all the above and nothing seems to work. Any other suggestions?

  • Only getting sound out the right side speaker

Just this morning, I realised that I am only getting sound out the right side (built-in) speaker on my iMac 24 inch.
Any ideas as to why/how this is happening. It was working fine last night.
Do I have to take it in for repair??

thanks- yes that was the answer!
god knows how i altered the setting. must have been a keyboard short-cut and i did it by mistake...!

  • HT4528 Sound from the built-in speaker badly cracks and breaks

Hi, I need a help on trying to figure out what's wrong with my iPhone 4..
I've had my iPhone for about a year, without any major issue. But recently I noticed that the sound coming from the built-in speaker cracks and breaks to a point it barely makes any proper sound. The weird thing is that this happens only for alarm, text/phone ringtones, and during calls when I try to use the speaker.
At first I suspected it was the hardware issue, but when I play music it works just fine. I tried restoring the phone, but that didn't fix the problem.
I'm thinking about taking it to Apple store or Verizon, but my Apple warranty seems to have expired and I don't know what Verizon can do to help. I should still have the protection plan through Verizon, but it doesn't cover much.

  • No sound from front right/left speakers in 5.1 setting SB Audigy 2 ZS

    Dimension 550/E50
    XP Media Center 2005
All current Windows Updates (SP3 & all MCE updates)
    5. surround sound was working fine until some software changes took place (however, I dont know which was directly related)
    A) Intel Chipset update from A to 7.2.2.006, A3
    1. It fixes issue with USB keyboard/mouse hang until reboot while installing.
    2. It fixes yellow bang in USB controller in Device Manager on a system with USB keyboard/mouse while installing.
    3. It fixes a bug where a 3rd party SMBus driver was being overwritten.
    4. It fixes Installshield issue with silent mode.
    5. It fixes issue in PCIUtility.sys during install on 64-bit OS.
    6. It fixes untranslated language strings.
    B) Some Microsoft AutoUpdates
didn't discover the loss of front speakers until several updates had run. Restored back to December 08 without any improvements.
After the chipset update, I de-installed all SB and Sigmatel drivers
Then Re-installed the SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio driver
and then re-ran the SB Installation CD
    still, no front r/l sound
then, i ran the Creative AutoUpdate application and installed recommended updates.
still no sound front l/r --
i switched the rear l/r cable with front, so i know the speakers are fine.
    what else can i do
how can i tell if the sound board is faulty

I used the Creative Diagnostic application's Speaker Test and after hitting Restore Defaults, the front right speaker is not as quiet, though still much quieter and muffled. Still no sound from the subwoofer.
