Only the top section of safari toolbar is visible

At launch Safari appears as a narrow horizontal strip, only the top of the browser window is visible and half of the website field shows.
Clicking the green traffic light restores the complete window but the toolbar and bookmarks are still invisible, though when the curser moves over some of them they briefly reappear but remain inactive.
Also the content of the window has moved up and ranges from where the toolbar should be, making and top level buttons on a website inaccesible.
I have deleted restarted and reinstalled Safari with no result.

Hi,
Click View from the menu bar then click Customize Toolbar.
Drag the default toolbar or customize.
If that doesn't help, you may have inadvertently installed a third party Safari add causing this.
Follow the paths here.
/Library/Application Support/ Move the Conduit file to the Trash.  
 /Library/Application Support/ Move all of these files to the Trash: SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle  
/Library/InputManagers/ Move CTLoader to the Trash. 
/Library/Receipts/ Move ctloader.pkg to the Trash.  
/Library/ScriptingAdditions/ Move any Conduit / CTLoader related files in that folder to the Trash.  
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/ Move Conduit to the Trash.  
Relaunch Safari.

In my itunes library I have apps for the ipod. All of the apps were together, and now I have two different sections to my apps. The first one says 44 apps and the second section says 143 apps. When I connect my ipod only the first section goes on

Can you take a screen shot of the iTunes screen and post it? I do not really understand what you mean by different sections.
What model iPod and iOS do you have? Maybe the section that does not sync are not compatible with the iPod.
Were all the apps purchased with one account?
Do you have any Restrictions one that would prevent syncing? Settings>General>Restrictions.

Downloaded latest version of safari and it wont open properly only the top of the page open???

i was running safari on my ibook and all of a sudden it stoped working it wouldnt load the page only the top of the page would load. so i went to firefox but when i stream videos of firefox they always seem to be jumpy. so i have recently downloaded the latest safari again and i am still having the same problem as before where only the top of the page ill load?? i have the latest updates of osx 10.5.8. i believe its something to do with my computer???

How can I recognise the text in only the top portion of a page?

I am using Acrobat XI Pro and wish to recognise the text in only the top portion of a page. The document is made of of pages of music and I only want to be able to search the title section of each page. Recognising the text in the body of the music makes it difficult to search and find each piece. How can I apply Text Recognition to only the top portion of each page? And if possible how do I apply this to multiple pages simultaneously?
The other option I considered was separating each piece into its own file. However it is convenient for me to have all the pieces in one file if possible.

How can I sync ONLY the top photo in the stack?

I sync various Aperture photo albums to my IPad and iPhone. The problem is that when I have 'stacked' images (eg. one image showing in the album and two other copies 'hidden' underneath), all of the photos in the stack are copied to the ipad and iPhone. So instead of seeing just one version of an image, I see as many as are in the stack. How can I sync ONLY the top photo in the stack?

I solved my own problem.
The sync problem seemed to only occur on smart albums. There is a new check box option in Aperture 3 when making a smart album: "sync stack pick only." One click and the problem is solved!

Can I put only the top image of a stack in a Mobile Album?

I have an album that contains stacks and I would like to put only the top images of these stacks in a Mobile Album. Is this possible?
I have tried to make a new album and only put the top images in this new album without sucess. Is it possible to have a stack of images in one album and only the top image in another ablum?

Hi Surendra,
My target is to find a convenient way to transfer my best photos only to my iPad
By using stacks for similar photo and putting my best shot on top I reduce the number of images displayed in the organizer. A typical stack contains of 8 shots.
Then I put my best stacks in an album. By using the Slide Show in PE I have a convenient way to display only my best shot and tha's OK for my computer were I have a lot of disc space.
But on my iPad the size of memory is limited and it also takes some time to transfer a huge number of images so now I want to find a convenient way of tranfering only the top image of each stack. If I could have a separate album containing only the top images from each stack the task would have been easy.
Now this is not possible so now I hope there is another solution than acually making a separate copy (a new file) of each top image and put these copies in a separate album. This will of course work but it will end up in having two identical images showing up in the organizer and so I do not really like this idea.
I hope I have managed to describe my intention and do you have an idea for a workaround or do I need to make separate copies?

When I turn off private browsing and refresh the page, everything works again.

I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

Only the "first section" of CC notes is shown on each slide.

I have a lot of TTS and CC notes in my presentation. Although, the box of every "CC note" section is clicked, the CC notes don't proceed beyond the first section. I have looked at the CC timeline, and the second second should begin at 13 seconds, the third at 19 seconds, and so forth. During playback, the only the first section is shown for the entire slide. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

OK. Then something isn't quite making sense for me here.
I just performed a quick test readin of the first line of CC text showing in your screenshot and it came out at 30 seconds. So I cannot see how the TTS text voice (which is usually slower than mine) would come out at only 14 seconds or so. It would have to sound like a chipmunk to fit that amount of text in the time frame you say it is using.
My guess is that the CC text is not appearing perhaps because you have far too much text in each line.
Try breaking up your text in so smaller chunks. For example, here's a screenshot of the module I'm currently working in. I always set my CC text up so that no more than one line is visible at a time.
I have the CC options in the skin set for the CC section to be 3 lines high and the text is as shown below:

Okay, as I'm working through this I see that I have to add the "Admin" account to each file with "read only" permission. Simply changing the "everyone" account access does nothing.
So how do I change the permissions settings in iPhoto or Aperture to give each exported file the desired permissions? I cannot locate a setting in the iPhoto or Aperture applications.
Also, I added a password to the user account. It did not change how files are output.

Imported CAD file..multiple line on top of eachother...selecting only the top "layer"

I have imported a CAD file and after closer examination it seems that the file was created with redundant lines on top of each other. Is there a way I can select only the top "layer" of lines?
I say "layer" in quotes because this file has no actual layers.

You can implement mouse listener for panel and you can identify buttons in the panel with the mouse event of panel using MouseEvent.getComponentAt(MouseEvent.getPoint()) instanceof JButton or not.

I used the ticker tape mode to add subtitles to a clip. When playing it in the pc, the Subtitles are fine, however, when playing it on the tv, only the top half of the words are visible. Any idea why?

I would agree with Keith Barkley, it may be the TV Safe Area. You can see what spots might be blocked out or cut off by going to iDVD and opening the original DVD project, under the View Menu > Show TV Safe Area. If your title gets cut off by the cropping rectangle displayed, that may account for the cut-off.

On safari the bottom part of the screen is greyed out. only the top inch is fine. how do i fix this?
