Only used data in variable screen from Cube.

Dear all,
Are there any ways to specify in the variable screen to only use master data which are only available in the cube for selection rather then showing up the entire list from the master data info object. Thanks in advance for the reply.

In the Info cube maintance screen,we have option like Strcture specific settings in "Extras" menu option. Here we cam set this property for each existing characterstic.

Hello all,
One of my user once asked me she needs to run a report for some employees, i said you can just type that in employee varaible input box.
She said I need to run the report and I need it for 120 employees, she has the employee numbers in excel sheet.
What is the best way of doing this if any ?

This can be done from a flat file, which has list of all values.
If you are using Bex 3.5, then we have an icon in variable screen bottom right to upload values, where we can specify the path of the file.

How can I utilize text variable in my book which only uses data merge on the first chapter?

Hey ladies and gents, I'm trying to automate a process here and running into trouble. I have the first chapter of a book with several data merge fields (legal documents etc), and want the later chapters to pick up from what I have already merged via text variables or SOMETHING. From what I've tried, the options available to me are limited and buggy.
Using the running header with character styles almost worked, but it removes all visual tracking in text around it (I assume this is a bug) and it only works for the first/last instance of the style. I need something that will fill in all instances.
Here is an example of what I'm doing. In the ch1 document of my book I data merge the Name, Age and Occupation of a person. In chapter two I want to have a variable that takes the name that was merged in ch1. Any ideas? Doesn't seem possible!

I need some solution that references live text, specifically different fields that have been data merged. This solution needs to work between documents, so your cross-reference suggestion was in the right direction. If I data merge 'Plan Name' from a CSV file into my first document and mark it with something (character style, paragraph style, text anchor etc), I want to have places in my other documents that pull that exact text from the first.
If document 1 says 'the plan is XXXX', document 2 will copy that name, i.e. 'According to plan XXXX'. Whatever solution this is it's what I'm looking for.

ODI: Using Date in Variable - Suggestion

I have created a refresh variable - DAY with following code:
Select TO_CHAR(sysdate,'MM/DD/YYYY') from dual
Variable datatype - Alphanumeric
Now I am using the siame variable as evaluate variable in a package.
The Evaluation condition is also the same - Select TO_CHAR(sysdate,'MM/DD/YYYY') from dual
However, the ODI is not evaluating the condition properly and always returns false.
Any guidelines where i am going wrong.

Please try below select query in both refresh and evaluate variables, for date variable hope you provided Logical Schema in date variable
SELECT '<%=odiRef.getSysDate( )%>' FROM dual
In Refresh variable:
pass above select query
place same variable in pkg with variable type Evaluate
In Evaluate variable:
by default above select query will available in Refreshing tab and in Evaluate variable property give Operator as = and Value as above select query.
This will work

Data to be deleted from cube conditionally

Hi,
We are facing a problem in maintaining data from ODS to CUBE. Actually some data is loaded in cube and agian the same set is to be rectified which needed delta. The DTP has been created as delta loading . but every time data is loaded the total data from ODS is loaded to CUBE. So we need that data set to be delted from a huge cube and needed fresh loading from ODS.
But from cube data can be deleted toatally. But here data is to be deleted with some keys i.e. conditionally.

Apart from what my other Friends have suggested.
Try to delete the Data based on Date as far as possible.......And also laod based on date.
So that there is Stability of Data.

You cannot didrectly check the condition...
what you have to do is.. write a inside the method as below and set the flag...and use the flag in condition editor...
SWC_GET_TABLE CONTAINER 'AGENTS' lt_agents.
loop at lt_agents ino wa_agents.
if wa_agents = 'A'.
lv_flag = X.
endif.
endloop.
SWC_SET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'FLAG' lv_flag.
Create an export parameter FLAG as char1 with export marked.
Do the neccesary bindings from task to workflow.
Then in workflow check this flag in condition editor.

How to get only latest date and other columns from table

this is a table, here id,name,date is composite key.
I want to select id,name and date so that latest date (e.g., for id 123 date 12/4/2010 be selected) is selected for each id and each id and name should be selected once.
So what will be its query?

Why do I receive messages with only a date, no subject, no from, no body, etc.?

at varying times I receive messages with a blank subject, no entry in [from, to] no body, but a date in 1969.

I tried emptying the inbox, deleting the 2 files, and restarting TB.
I did the same for Sent and Trash.
I also deleted all .msf files for all inbox sub-folders and for all folders and sub-folders under "My Mail".
the problem persists.
My inbox has many sub-folders and sub-sub-folders should those be moved to My Mail?
Another problem I am having. I do not know if it is related.
I have a stack of filters that move incoming mail into folders. The stack ends with 2 filters.
(1) a filter that checks whether FROM is from someone in my mail lists. It then moves the message into a folder called "Known Sender".
(2) a psuedo-ELSE filter that check whether the subject contains a very improbable string. It put the message in a folder called ") Suspicious".
Sometimes I still end up with folders in Inbox that clearly should be in the two folders, "Known Sender" or ") Suspicious".

Web pages only use part of monitor screen

I just got a new computer, and I installed the latest version of Firefox. Unlike on my old PC, when I open Firefox, it loads in the middle of my monitor screen, leaving about 3-4 inches of empty screen on each side.

Skip only Archiving data from ECC to HANA through SLT

Hello,
SLT is configured between ECC6 as source and HANA as target, real time replication is enabled. I have a situation, where I have to skip the replication for only those data which are deleted from the database after archived. But normal deletion process should replicate in HANA.
1st we are archiving some data in ECC6 and after archiving we are deleting those data or moving those data into content server. For this process those data also being deleted from HANA. How to restore those deleted archived data into HANA.
We cann't stop the server in the time of archiving.
Any help on this would be great help.

are you using a "Side-Car" approach in your scenario?
If yes, I think the best solution is to use SLT for a 1:1 trigger based replication.
BODS is used more for the scenarios where you have to prepare your data (e.g. data cleansing).

Bookmark with Variable screen and UserExit

We're using the bookmarks in portal of N2004s.
If someone starts a bookmark it's possible to bring the user first to the variable screen. But I recognized that the userexit is not activated for some variables after changing them.
concret:
I called a report with time-selection week = 10.2007 - the report has keyfigures which are restricted by a userexit variable which is previous year (calculated by time selection - 1year) - so the report shows me the keyfigures with previous year 10.2006 and 10.2007 - I save this as a bookmark.
calling the bookmark with this link: &bookmark=46LQ49TMUQ8BRH3O91VEH0XMK&variable_screen=X
the bookmark shows me first the variable screen. The user can change then the time-selection. But when i change now the time-selection in the variable screen from 10.2007 to 20.2007 I get in the report stll 10.2006 and 20.2007.
So it seems to me the bookmark doesn't run through the user exit to fill the variable "previous year".
How can this be activated?

I debugged now the user exit and it seems as following:
- calling a bookmark with selection_screen=x but without the parameter clear_variables=x does run through the user exits step 1 to 3 before showing the variable screen. After changing a variable the user exit is only enabled for step 3 and not anymore for step 2 - that's why the previous year is not updated.
- calling the bookmark with selection_screen=x and clear_variables=x runs user exit with step 1 before selection screen and then after entering variables step 2 and 3 - and the previous year is filled correctly. But this is not useable, because the user want's to have selection variables prefilled.
Has someone an idea how to bring the bookmark without clear_variables=x to the point to run the step 2 in user exit after changing variables in selection screen?

Variable description not appearing in variable screen

Hi Experts,
we have created a variable which is ready for input. While executing the query, the variable description is not appearing in the variable screen, instead variable technical name is only appearing in the variable screen.
The same variable is being used in two queries. In one query, it displays the technical name and in the other query it displays the description of that variable.
your solution would be greatly appreciated.

yeah......it is strange. As soon as the variable screen comes up, all the variables normally shown in description rather than a technical name, unless you select "Key & text" OR only "key" OR only "Text".
But, in this case this particular variable is showing in technical name, the description itself is disappearing from the variable screen.
No changes have been made to variable. The same variable displays with descriptions in other query. so difficult to analyze.
