Onplus - Generic custom SNMP monitors

Hi,
I just got an OnPlus agent today and playing with its capabilities. I have a few questions.
1. I have a customer who has a few non Cisco switches too. These are snmp capable switches. Can you define a custom monitor within OnPlus to monitor specific OIDs?
2. Does OnPlus process snmptraps and syslogs too? If I configure all cisco devices to send traps and syslogs to OnPlus, can I get it to generate the alerts on certain match conditions?
3. Does it do any kind of performance reporting at all? e.g. Interface utilization, CPU etc. for 5 min, 1 hour, daily etc.
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi All,
This feature does work..

  • Prime Infrastructure - Custom SNMP Template

    Hi,
Has anyone managed to get the Custom SNMP Template to work in PI 2.x? I can't get it to present any relevant data (yes, with generic dashlets).
I've tried to pull CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB and other third-party MIBs with no luck.
I'm starting to suspect this is yet another not-so-ready-feature of PI....

  • Displayport to DVI Adapter finds Generic Non-PNP Monitor

I have a 6 week old H8-1420T Envy C1U69AV#ABA, Windows 8 64bit, 1GB Radeon HD7670 and I am trying to connect two Dell 1905FP monitors. Each monitor works fine when connected to the DVI port. When I connect one monitor using a HP displayport to DVI dongle adapter, the system reports it as a Generic Non-PNP Monitor and the screen remains black. I tried the adapter on another system and it works fine.
I updated to the new "8.982.10.1800 Rev. A 3 Jan 2013" driver on the HP site but it didn't help. The AMD drivers will not install because apparently this is an ugly step-child video card, not a real AMD. If I knew that I wouldn't have purchased it with the system.
I have the original CD from the 1905FP when I bought them and it doesn't have a driver file on it (didn't need one with XP). When the monitors work, they are each reported as a 1905FP.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

You can make sure you have the newest AMD drivers by using these steps.  I have not had any issues updating the AMD driver using these steps on custom built and OEM systems.
I will be honest, I'm not certain if the driver will correct the issue but it is worth trying and having the newest driver may not hurt.
    Let me know what happens.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 (1.3.0.20) Custom snmp

After importing custom snmp MIB and deploying it I cannot find where can I see the pulled data?
Where do I go to create custom report or custom dashlet to show data pulled through custom mib and custom snmp template?
    thx

    Hi Bart
Take a look on the PI user guide for version 2.0.
On page A-7 you see how to Add the Generic Dashlet and map it to your custom SNMP template.
For me it works OK for table display the attributes.
When I change for Chart display I can not choose the attribute to plot.
I allways get ifIndex as attribute to plot.
I am using the RFC1213 mib and the ifTable.

  • Nagios SNMP Monitoring for NSS devices ?

Has anyone managed to utilise the inbuilt SNMP functions of the NSS with nagios efficiently ?
if so, what plugins are you using and how have you got them configured ?
    Steve

There are some threads in this forum regarding this already. It is not as easy as monitoring a switch or router. the controllers combine the AP mac with the oid for unique lines. You can glean some snmp info off the controllers by using some of the generic OIDs and controller specific OIDs, but you will need an snmp monitoring program that you can load the WLC MIBs into and then tailor your monitoring of the controller based on that. I use Cacti, which is really awesome, but I would need to grab the complete OID off each controller based on the APs on it, which is fine as long as the AP is on that particular controller and not another one. snmpwalk is your friend in this case.

  • Snmp monitoring for wlc 4404

    Hi,
we use a snmp monitoring software called Nagios in our LAN. Now we have two WLC 4404. Is it possible to monitor values via snmp? Is someone else doing it so?
Witch values can be monitored and for what values is it wise or practicable to monitor it?

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 - Show on event view all snmp trap (SNMP monitoring work)

    Hello everybody,
Sorry for my english, I write normaly in french, but we have more result in english.
I have a problem with SCOM 2012. I try to catch all snmp traps sended by a 2960 CISCO switch on a EventView with a specific rule (Authoring->Rule->Collection Rules -> Event Based -> SNMP Trap (Event) based on the object target "Node")
I creat a specific management pack juste for the rule and the views.
SNMP Monitoring - CISOC 2960 => It's OK, I can have the processor state, utilization, etc ...
SNMP Monitoring Ubuntu computer => It's OK, I can have all the state I want.
SNMP Traps => The switch or the computer send traps over the network, and I can see in wireshark, the server receive the traps
SNMP Service (Windows service) => Disabled
SNMP trap (Windows service) => Disabled
Health Service (Windows service) => Enabled
Port 162 UDP => Open and listenning by the MonitoringHost.exe
Firewall rules => Everythinks is OK
SNMP Trap send version is => 2c
SNMP Monitoring device version is => 2c

    Hello Yan Li,
I read your link, and I found this :
The network devices must be discovered and registered as ICMPSNMP devices.
And when I make the dicovery the first time, ICMP doesn't work, so I put only SNMP. This morning I tried with ICMP and SNMP, but the same problem come to me. And I found the rootcause of the problem with this post : http://www.code4ward.net/main/Blog/tabid/70/EntryId/105/Troubleshooting-Network-Discovery-in-SCOM-2012.aspx
I allowed the SNMP service, ping, and Health Service, just after I try a second time to dicover my device and it's work (ICMP and SNMP).
I recreat all my management pack and the rule. And now it's work! Thank you very much for your help!!
    Have a nice day

  • WAAS SNMP monitoring

    Hi Patrick,
These traps are associated with the ENTITY-MIB and DISMAN-EVENT-MIB MIBs.  The ENTITY-MIB provides basic information about the WAAS device, such as name, description, type, etc.  The only trap associated with the MIB is for an object called entConfigChange.  It is described as:
"An entConfigChange notification is generated when the value of entLastChangeTime changes. It can be utilized by an NMS to trigger logical/physical entity table maintenance polls."
The DISMAN-EVENT-MIB is used by WAAS for custom SNMP triggers.  You can configure custom SNMP triggers to monitor specific SNMP objects and generate a trap when a defined trigger is met (i.e. CPU utilization exceeds X over time period Y).
If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
    Regards,
    Zach

  • Need help in creating a 'Generic txt log' monitor

    Hi
We require some help in creating a 'Generic txt log' monitor.
    In a txt-log a system is writing log-entries of a job.
When the job is running successfully, the entries is like this:
First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
Second line: CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished
When the job is NOT running successfully, the entries are like:
First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
Second line <this could be anything>
So, how to we create a monitor that trigger an alert if
First line = "CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution"
and second line is NOT "CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished"
And closing the alert if the entries are once again gets:
First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
Second line: CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished
    Thanks in advance
    /Peter

You may consider using script monitor, below is the coding of script section:
Assumption: the file is stored in c:\temp\AppLog.txx. You should modify the file path for your own situation
    Dim oAPI, oBag
    dim strComputer, objWMIService, PerfProcess,Perf, PerfPro
    Dim PerfMems,PerfMem,Mem
    Set oAPI=CreateObect("MOM.ScriptAPI")
    Set oBag=oAPI.CreatePropertyBag()
    Set objFileToRead = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").OpenTextFile("C:\temp\AppLog.txt",1)
    Dim strLine,PreLine
    Dim jobFail
    JobFail=false
    do while not objFileToRead.AtEndOfStream
     strLine = objFileToRead.ReadLine()
     if PreLine<>"" then
if strLine<>"CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished" then
                   JobFail=true
                else
                   JobFail=false
                end if
                PreLine=""
             end if
if strLine="CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution" then
        PreLine=strLine
     end if
    loop
    objFileToRead.Close
    Set objFileToRead = Nothing
    If JobFail then
     Call oBag.AddValue("JobFail", "Yes")
    else
     Call oBag.AddValue("JobFail", "NO")
    end if
    Call OAPI.Reten(oBag)

  • Urgent - Related to generic customer exit for Query

    Hello Experts,
We have a query whose selection screen has two user input variables, plant and fiscper. Let say user enters 001 plant adn fiscper 0012007. We have about 100 rows for this selection. Each row has three date fields D1, D2 and D3. we have requirement that out of these 100 records only those records which meet the condition that D1 falls between D2 and D3 should be displayed as query result, others should be ignored.
Is there any generic customer exit (Like we have customer exit to manipulate virtual keyfigures) that gets called before query result is displayed where we can play around with the query result before it gets displayed? I am not talking about user exits for customer exit variables.
Please throw some light on this.
    Thanks
    Sundar

    Hello Sundar,
You can use conditions for the requirement mentioned.
Create a Contition on date D1 with operator "Between" and instead of hardcoding the values for the condition use variable entries. There you can create a variable with Customer exit type - to get in the selected range of dates between D2 and D3.
    Thanks

  • Add a custom alert monitor set in Central Reports of NWA 2004s

    Hi,
I installed recently netweaver administrator 2004s to use central monitoring. I created a new CCMS monitor set with RZ20 and was hoping to see this set in the Monitoring -> Central Reports view set of the NWA (drop down box with all the Alert monitor sets defined in the CEN), but it wasn't there. Is there a way to add custom alert monitor sets created with RZ20 in the Central Reports "View Set" of the NWA ?

  • SNMP monitoring of Oracle 10g?

    Hi there,
I'm curious about using SNMP technology to monitor Oracle 10g databases.
I've done some light reading on the subject and I'm now at the stage
where I have a few questions.
-What exactly do I need to configure in my Oracle 10g environment?
-Is Enterprise Manager the best and/or only UI available for me
    to carry out configuration chores?
-I see no SNMP specific documentation for 10g; why is that?
-I do see a good document for 9i:
Oracle SNMP Support Reference Guide Release 9.2.0 Part Number A96672-01
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/em.920/a96672/toc.htm
Is the above document suitable for configuring SNMP monitoring of Oracle
    in a 10g environment?
    -moi

I'm able to set up traps via the EM website following these instructions:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b40002/notification.htm
However, what I'm really looking for is the ability to do snmp gets. I need functionality similar to how the old school DBSNMP under OMS used to work. These commands seem to be totally missing. I found the following documentation:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b16244/chap2.htm#sthref74
Which indicates there should be an snmp subfolder under $ORACLE_HOME/sysman, but that folder does not exist in my installation. I installed Oracle EE. Is there another package I need to install in order to make the subagent run like a normal snmp agent?
So far if I do a:
    emctl start dbconsole
that starts up the EM Website and I can use that no probelm. If I...
emctl start agent -- I get:
    Starting agent ... started.
issuing a 'emctl staus agent' gives me a normal status message. Things start to get strange when I try to start the subagent, which to my understanding is what I need running in order to to talk to net-snmp, which is the master agent running on this host. Here's what happens:
    [zaro@cheetah bin]$ ./emctl start subagent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
    Starting sub agent .....started
    [zaro@cheetah bin]$ ./emctl status subagent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
    Sub agent is not running..
I guess my question is how do I get to have the ability I used to have back in 8i to start up dbsnmp and then have my SNMP monitoring app "discover" the agent and use its instrumentation to get data?

Is there anyway to monitor network traffic on the newer Time Capsules, similar to the SNMP monitoring previously?

Yes, that is what Bridge Mode is for.  Just connect the Time Capsule to a LAN <--> Ethernet port on your "main" router.

  • Prime\SNMP Monitoring of dynamic interfaces

Hi - Is anyone aware of a method of monitoring the bandwidth utilisation on a dynamic interface on a WLC?
I'd like to monitor the traffic on each dynamic interface to generate usage stats on centrally switched guest and employee SSID's.
    Thanks

You have to get that stats from switch where you defined those SVI. WLC dynamic interface not terminate any L3 traffic  & switch SVI is the place to go.
If you have netflow monitoring or simple snmp monitoring tool, you can get that stats from the switch.
