  • News products life cycle

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is a way or a tool on the Cisco website, to know the life cycle of a product? (end of maintenance, and of support, end of sale, end of life...)
This concerns news products, not formers for which information is of course on the Cisco website
    best regards

    Neha,
Yes, you can use the same Forecast profile for Lifecycle Planning which you use for Statistical Forecasting.
In the Master Forecast Profile, Make sure you Activate the " Lifecycle Planning Active" indicator.
    Other required procedures being:
    Creating Like Profile
Assigning the Like profile to Products/Characteristics in the Assignments section/table.
Let me know if you have any questions,

    Dear All
Is    PLCM module is suitable for design engineering professionals.
    Regards
    Karthik

    You can try this....
In the first page when user click the update button you can get that value and set this to request level like given below,
public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    if(pageContext.getParameter("Update")!=null) {
//Get the value of required field and set that in parameter
    pageContext.putParameter("LogItem",pageContext.getParameter("longItemID"));
In other page you can get that value through getParameter method in FormRequest Method
public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    String longItemDesc = pageContext.getParameter("LogItem");
    OAMessageStyledTextBean bean = (OAMessageStyledTextBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("BeanName");
    bean.setText(pageContext,longItemDesc);

  • Automatic Life Cycle Management in OWB?

    Hello,
i actally read a white paper (Integrated ETL and Modeling) about OWB. In this paper is a chapter about Life Cycle Management. This chapter sounds to me, that OWB automaticly detects changes in the source or target system and made a message to the programmer.
In my OWB (10g) I detect changes when I deploy my mappings. So it could happen, that i worked a few days at my mappings, not knowing that sources or targets have changed. That is extreme painful!
Is it possible I have overlook this feature of OWB?

    HI,
when you feel like source tables got some changes, jus try to import again, then it will show you, whether the souce changed or unchanged.

  • Vulnerabilities and Life Cycle

What vulnerability drove the creation of Adobe Shockwave v12.0.3.133? What is the product life cycle/support for versions 12, 11 and 10?

    Hi Tim,
For Life cycle you need to maintain Manual proportional factor for the particular characteristic combination till the product gets maturity statues (100%).
Running proportional factor using shipment history takes to old products /Location. What i can suggest you is
.1.Run proportional factor using shipment history to APODPDANT and copy proportional factor to another key figure where you can call adjustment proportional factor key figure, maintain proportional percentage to life cycle products / location to the new key figure and assign to forecast key figure to generate forecast .

my older iPod my husband wants to use and his netbook does not have cd drive. How do I down load iPod and iTunes info for this product so he can now use it?

Your question(s) is/are a little hard to understand.  So your husband has an iPod as well as a netbook and he wants to be able to sync iPod with this netbook is that correct?  If so, he'll need to first download and install iTunes assuming the netbook is running some version of Windows such as 7, Vista, or XP.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
As for importing or ripping music, he'll have to either use an external CD/DVD drive that is attached via USB or rip the songs to another PC you have with a built in CD/DVD drive.  Once you have imported them to the other computer, you can transfer the songs to an external hard drive or to his iTunes library via Home Sharing.
If this isn't quite what you were looking for, please clarify.

  • Servlet Life Cycle. .can anybody say whether this is correct or not

    Hello everyone
Servlet Life Cycle. This is what i understood .can anybody say whether this is correct or not
According to sevlet specification, servlet life cycle has 4 stages
    1)Loading and instantiation
    2)Initialization
    3)service the request
    4)destroy
When we start webcontainer, webcontainer looks for deployed web applications and reads deployment descriptor of each web application. In the process of reading web.xml webcontainer container creates servletcontext object for holding context parameters and servletconfig object for holding servlet init-parameters after finding the servlet classes of the web application.
After finding the servlet classes webcontainer loads the servlet classes.
Loading can be done in 2 ways
1)When Webcontainer starts(loads) the webaplication by using load on startup in web.xml.
    or
2)when first request comes for the webapplication
Say webcontainer starts the webaplication by using load on startup in web.xml ,Webcontainer creates an instance of servlet class and call init method of GenericServlet class by passing ServletConfig as parameter to init method i.e init(ServletConfig config). The code that is part of this init method initilize the ServletConfig variable of GenericServlet class and call init() method of GenericServlet class.
So when a request comes, webcontainer creates HttpServletRequest object,
HttpServletResponse object ,identifies the servlet class based onthe URL and
allocates a thread for the request and calls
service(ServletRequest req,ServletResponse resp) of HttpServlet class by
passing HttpServletRequest object, HttpServletResponse object as arguments.
Since req, resp are of type ServletRequest,ServletResponse they are type
casted to HttpServletRequest , HttpServletResponse and calls
    service(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse resp) of HttpServletand
here request method is determined and either doGet()/doPost() methods are executed.
And finally when desroy method is called.

Mostly, but a servlet that has been initialized may service any number of 0 or more requests before being destroyed. So the life cycle might be:
    1) Load
    2) Initialize
    3) Service a Request
    4) Destroy
    or
    1) Load
    2) Initialize
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    4) Destroy
    or
    1) Load
    2) Initialize
    4) Destroy
For any given <servlet> definition, you might have a combination of all:
    1) Load (instance 1)
    2) Initialize
    4) Destroy
    1) Load (instance 2)
    2) Initialize
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    3) Service a Request
    4) Destroy
    1) Load (instance 3)
    2) Initialize
    3) Service a Request
    4) Destroy
And for some Servlets with special configurations you might get:
    1) Load (instance 1)
    2) Initialize
    1) Load (instance 2)
    2) Initialize
    1) Load (instance 3)
    2) Initialize
    3) Service a Request (instance 1)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 3)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 1)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    3) Service a Request (instance 3)
    3) Service a Request (instance 1)
    4) Destroy (instance 1)
    3) Service a Request (instance 2)
    4) Destroy (instance 3)
    4) Destroy (instance 2)
Finally, if you have multiple <servlet> entries in the web.xml (maybe with different servlet names and mappings) then you could have multiple parallel chains of this sort of life-cycle.
The key concept you have is correct. But once you understand that it is important to know that you really have no control over the lifecycle of the Servlet and that you should not assume anything about it.

  • What is the total life cycle involved in any project

    Hi ,
Can n e body help me in knowing  the complete life cycle of any project.
Starting from the point customer wants to implement SAP for their business to implementation and support.
    thanks in advance,
    sastry

    Dear Sastry,
It actually depends on various factors, such as :
    1. how many modules they want to implement.
    2. Team Size.
    3. Organizational Structure (Volume of data)
    4. Legacy System
    5. Business Complexity etc.
There is no hard and fast rule that every project should be completed in a particular duration of time. Depending on the above factors, it may vary any where from 6 months to 18 months or so. (Approximately, it may be less than 6 months or more than 18 months in some exceptional cases).
Usually it is divided into phases:
    1. Project Preparation : Project team, infrastructure, Software, Steering committe etc will be identified in this phase.
    2. Business Blue Print : Re-engineering of Business process and BBP sign off.
    3. Realization : Analysing Gap and Realization of possible customization and development effort
    4. Final Preparation : Development and Configuration
    5. Go Live and Post Go Live support : Going Live and Support after go live
You would allot specific time periods for each of these phases and will set milestones accordingly.
or it could even be like :
    Project Start
    Analysis
    Design
    Design Freeze / Client Sign-off
    Construction
    Testing
    Implementation
    Project End
    Project Management Framework
    Post Close Review
    Training
    Change Management

  • Error while executing transport in HANA's application life-cycle management

    Hi everyone,
we're currently developing our HANA-based software and would like to use HANA's application life-cycle management: transporting our product from one system to another. Everything seems to be set up correctly: two different systems, correct privileges, a product comprising delivery units comprising packages as well as a transport route between the systems. However, the transport always fails with the following error (example for a transport of a single DU):
[imdbhdb][HDB][2014.05.07 15:10.01.404][TransportService][0] Transport (delta) has been started for route ID: 1020 (Deliver Unit Transport)

[imdbhdb][HDB][2014.05.07 15:10.12.402][TransportService][0] There will be 1 delivery units which will be transported.
[imdbhdb][HDB][2014.05.07 15:10.12.895][TransportService][12] Failed for DU: PERSISTENCE Vendor: LO Error: HTTP request failed. Status: 500. Error: Unable to retrieve end export time stamp.
[imdbhdb][HDB][2014.05.07 15:10.12.917][TransportService][12] TransportServiceError: Error occurred while performing the transport.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Lukas

    Hi everyone,
I am sorry I bothered you with this error. It was caused by me since I forgot to export a top-level file. This file must have defined a variable errText which other DUs depended on and could therefore not be activated.
Now, the transport works perfectly well and I'm really happy with it.
    All the best
    Lukas

  • Creation of BP through Web UI.with Life cycle stage concept.

    Hi,
I am working on Life cycle stage.
I have added the field " Life cycle stage" field in the Web UI.
But now when i go to create a BP with a life cycle stage XXX, it throws a error saying "BP category 1 does not fit the data in category 2" and "Data contains errors and cannot be saved"
Please help me in saving the BP thr web UI.
    Regards,
    Vinay

    Hi Tariq,
I'm not sure if you have the latest SP - recently, a new BADI - BUPA_SET_DEFAULT was released which allowed defaulting of fields in the BAPI and Web UI scenarios. You can use that BADI to default the fields for country, name, and even other address fields on the Web UI.
If you don't have this BADI in your system, do search for SAP notes, which will also have the documentation about this.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Rishu.

  • Xcelsius 2008 - Life cycle management

    All,
We have developed Xcelsius 2008 dashboards (by QAAWS) which are published in BO XI 3.0 Enterprise Infoview. How do we promote Xcelsius dashboard from development to production? Do Import wizard help on this?
Below are the workflow that I think about:
    1) Create QAAWS in both development and production
    2) Create dashboard in Xcelsius 2008 in development through WSDL URL created in QAAWS
    3) Publish the report in BO 3.0 Infoview.
    4) Through Import Wizard, import dashboard from dev to prod.
My question is how do we map the imported dashbaord in production to production WSDL URL.
Please let me know the above approach for Xcelsius 2008 life cycle management is correct.
    Thanks
    Jai

Thanks Jon. So all I need to change Web Service URL from:
    http://bodevserver:8080/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/queryasaservice
    to
    /dswsbobje/qaawsservices/FIAR?WSDL.
But how will this change to production server WSDL URL when this report moves to prod by import wizard?
Below is the work flow I did in QAAWS client:
    1) Created 2 URL one for Dev and another for Prod
    2) Created first URL in development through QAAWS client and deploy the same in prod by changing the prod server name.
    For Dev --> http://bodevserver:8080/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/FIAR?WSDL
    For Prod --> http://boprodserver:8080/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/FIAR?WSDL
I am still confused how these above 2 links helpful in Xcelsius to do life cycle managemnet without any mannual interpretation.
    Thanks
    Jai

  • Is This Even Possible? eDirectory syncing passwords with external RADIUS servers.

We are currently have a solution that allows us to use a campus RADIUS
server as the authentication mechanism for accessing the Internet. We want
to integrate this so users can authenticate with their campus IDs but gain
access to the Novell server (home directory and printing) using the same
    information.
    Is this even possible?
So, essentially, we would like the external RADIUS' user/password data to
be synced with the eDirectory data, but have the eDirectory receive updates
from the RADIUS (or LDAP, Kerberos or whatever system is necessary). Or is
an all-Novell solution the only possible way to use RADIUS authentication?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    -=Bryan

    Hi Bryan,
As jim said, you can use idm to do this, but another option for you
might be to use somthing like freeradius and point it back to
    edirectory as its authentication source.
    Cheers,

  • Product Build Cycle Time

    Hi everyone,
I have been asked to investigate our Business Content data for production cycle time information.  They would like me to develop a report that gives them all of the time intervals that make up the product build cycle - things they want included are "Rework", "Test", "Wait time for material", "Engineering development", "in stores time" and any other time that would be counted toward our product build cycle time.   Could someone please point me to the Business Content and/or reports that report off of it that might have some/all of this information?  Your help is greatly appreciated!
