Onscreen Timer or Clock?

In iMovie '11 (v9.0.4), is it possible to have an onscreen-clock done in post?
For example, video of kids doing the 50-yd dash, and an elapsed time counting up in the corner, like in the Olympics?
Thanks,
Steve

You could get a video (probably online somewhere) of a timer and then use the  picture-in-picture setting.
If you want something that looks a little cleaner,  drag the bar that makes you clips larger or smaller to the 1 second point. Then put the text tool onto your video. start it at zero.(0:00) make the text stay for only 1 second, then change it to the next second. (0:01) etc.
That will be very time consuming, but it should work.

  • Need a dual time zone clock app that runs like a screensaver

I have a first generation iPhone and I am wondering if any of the many world time zone clocks available as apps have the ability to run over or replace, until touched, the iPhone screen itself, which contains numerous app logos. Hope that makes sense. Thoughts?

What about adding another to Dashboard?
There are some for $20 but not menu bar:

  • No 'time connected clock'

    Hi,
A question concerning two different Macs with the same behaviour.
    1. I gave the eMac (listed below) to my folks when I moved up to my G5 and did a clean install so that they could start out fresh-I know its probably light on RAM, but they pretty much just use it to email friends and family-not real big users.
After setting them up, I've noticed that there is no 'time connected' counter in the top toolbar( this was present before I re-installed). The only way of knowing that connection is ongoing is that the telephone icon has all the bars or 'droplets' bolded (when they disconnect the droplets are greyed out)
The dropdown menu is ticked to 'show time connected' as is the box in Internet Connect. Opening Internet Connect panel (when conected for any length of time) shows the counter at 00:00:00.
    2. I installed 10.1.2 then upgraded to 10.1.5 on a friends Graphite slot loading iMac that was previously running 9.2.2 (256MB RAM with appropriate firmware updates etc). His machine is in exactly the same situation with no time connection clock visible, again 'show time connected' is checked in the dropdown menu and Internet Connect panel.
Both computers were loaded with the original disks that came with the respective machines, permissions were repaired before and after any installations, no third party apps were added. It's not a big drama but just makes me curious-any takers?
Bear with me-I have neither computer at hand to answer any further questions on specs and will be away for a couple of days, but will endevour to get back to any of you that reply.
    Cheers,
    Jane

    Hi ali b,
Unfortunately I had no luck with your suggestion re: deleting the file
    com.apple.medemmenuextra.plist.
Incidently, the 'show modem status in menubar' was still checked as it was originally and I didn't need to change that, as such the time clock still sits at 00.00.00 with no movement.
I walked my folks thru' this over the phone, which wasn't tricky-but I guess I'll have to pack a lunch and head over there and have a hands-on tinker if there are any other suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Jane

  • HT201250 Time Machine clock not rotating

Since upgrading to Yosemite the Time Machine clock does not rotate when backing up.  However when opening Time Machine the backups show in proper order.  Any idea how to make the clock rotate again since that is the indicator the backup drive is working.
    Thanks,
    Hal J

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Timer on clock app dimmed

On my clock app, the section where I adjust the time I want for the timer is dimmed out. It's only for the timer, world clock/alarm/stopwatch are all working perfectly only the top half of my timer section is dark. Anyone have any ideas? I have already tried soft reset, restarting and resetting settings. The countdown time displays normally once I start the timer but just when I want to set the time, it becomes really dim. The bottom half(area with start/pause) always displays properly.
    Thanks!

Have you tried switching between the Timer, Alarm, Stopwatch, etc?  Switch to one of these, exit, close the app as I described in my first post, reopen the app and then select Timer.
If still no joy and you've alrady done a reset, your next step is to restore with your backup.  After that it's restore as new, i.e. without your backup.
Or download a Timer app from the App Store.

  • Problem with Timer in Clock app in IOS 8

I've noticed an interesting change, a bug I suspect, in the Timer part of the Clock app in IOS 8. If I set a timer for say, 5 min, and I happen to check the timer before the alarm sounds, so it is showing on the iPhone, the alarm goes off, But I cannot stop it, cancel it, whatever. I have to go back to the home screen to tap done. This wasn't the behavior before. I suspect is shouldn't be now. Anyone else seen this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have a reproducible bug with the alarm in iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 5. If the alarm goes off when the phone is sleeping I normally can silence in 3 ways: 1) use "tap to stop" on lock screen; 2) use power button to return to sleep mode; 3) use vibrate switch to turn ringer off. However, if I inadvertently swipe down to access notifications when the alarm is going off, when I return to lock screen the alarm can no longer be silenced by 1 & 2 listed above (only 3 will work). Powering off will also work, although I have read here that some are having the alarm remain on even after reboot. I can reproduce this problem as often as I attempt.

  • HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-one Series change time on clock?

clock on printer screen says it is 7:34PM.  Actual Central Daylight time is 2:35 PM.
    This question was solved.

I could not find any settings button, but I was able to scroll down to preferences.  From there I selected Country/Region and I confirmed that U.S. was correct.  Then I selected Date and Time where I changed the time from 3? PM to 10:08 AM which is my daylight savings time.

  • Displaying GMT time in clock app

    Hi,
In the clock application, how does one show GMT / UTC time?  In the World Clock part, there is no city listed as GMT/UTC.
Some people have suggested that Reykjavik be used.  That's a workaround.  Is there a better answer, or can I submit a feature request?  I am running 10.3.1.1767.
     RWW

If I am not mistaken the original request intended to ask for a possibility to diplay real UTC/GMT.
In WInter the time in London is the same as GMT, but in the summer the UK is using summer time. The clock for London would show GMT+1 then.
According to this Wikipedia entry Iceland is using GMT+0 all year round.
On a BB10 device this is problably the closest you can get right now.
It would be nice if Blackberry could and an extra UTC entry to the list of cities/time-zones.

  • Time indicator (clock) runs slow and getting slower

I have had problems with the clock for quite some time. First, when I travel, if the computer is shut down and only on battery for quite along time, when I restart the computer, the clock needs to be reset before the system will boot.
This past week the clock has started to run slow. And it's getting slower.
    Any ideas what's wrong?

Sounds like it's time for a new CMOS battery.  Search around online for one that works for your model laptop.

    Hello Ravens Fan
I have had an attempt (unsuccessfully) at your suggestion, but not much luck I'm afraid.
I'm kicking myself because I should know how to do this.
I have attached my attempt. Would you please take a look at it and see where I'm missing the next ingredient.
    Kind regards

  • Flexible DWS With Fixed Time For Clock In

    Hi Experts, Please Advise
The issue is exactly like the following example
an employees required to work 9 hours a day
they can come from 8:00 am to 09:00 am but from 8:00 to 9:00 is not tolerance, the system required to calculate 9 hours from clocking in with maximum clocking in 09:00 am
Emp X clock in 8:00 he must clock out MINIMUM at 17:00
Emp Y clock in 8:30 he must clock out MINIMUM at 17:30
Emp Z clock in 9:00 he must clock out MINIMUM at 18:00
but clocking in after 9:00 am is not allowed
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks

    Hi Islam,
You can check it that employee's clocked in before 9 am or after that through below PCR. Create a one constant in T511K and store as 9.
         HRS=PBEG
         HRS?CXXXX     (XXXX= Constant)
           Leave
         <
           Leave
         >
           COLERYYE     (YY= Error message no)
Insert this PCR with PTIP function after P2011 function in time schema.
    Check and tell me.

    Sankarsan

  • Default Time for Clock Timer

Every time I go to set the time on the timer on my iPhone, it's at 1:30. At one point, in the past, wasn't there something where it would stay at the previous setting?
Is there a way to make it stay at the previous setting when the alarm goes off?

If your iphone is jailbroken ...
    Open
    //private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mobiletimer.plist
Then modify the TIMER_INTERVAL value to a number of seconds of your desire. (note that the app only deals with minutes, so you'll have to set it to a multiplication of 60 sec, e.g. 0, 60, 120 etc')
You can use whatever property list viewer to do that.

  • Question about implementing a clock using a Timer object

Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question but I think so, as it regards a Swing component. I want to add a timer (a clock that starts at 0:00 and keeps track of how long the app is running) to a frame. I am just curious if using a Timer is the proper way to keep track of time, and just repaint() the clock object every second? (or more frequently if desired)... or is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance for any comments/feedback/help!
    Brian

    Hello,
Timer is not accurate. You can use Timer to display your component repeteadly, and System.currentTimeMillis() at each call to deduce the elapsed time.

  • IMac Clock Changing to Random Time

After turning on my iMac, sometimes the clock displays a random time, nowhere close to the current time in my area. I have the clock auto set on which syncs through the internet, but that does not seems to help at all, in fact, i think it syncs a different time zone than i have set. But the catch is that once i go to the clock menu to reset the time, the clock goes back to my time zone. What could be causing this?

Which time server are you using? Apple Asia would seem to be the appropriate one for you.
I would make sure that your time zone & city and time server are setup appropriately for your area and see what happens. Probably wouldn't hurt to restart as well.
