OO4O, OCI-21560 when selecting records with XMLTYPE column

When I try to select records from a table with XMLTYPE column
Set sqldynaset = oraDatabase.dbcreatedynaset("select * from tab1",
ORADYN_READONLY)
I got the error message:

    A few weeks ago, my camera doesn't do that, but since 1-2 weeks it becomes impossible to record with it.

  • Import is very Slow with xmltype column in oracle 9.2.0.7

    Hi
    We are using oracle 9.2.0.7 on Solaris
    The import without XMLTYPE column is faster the import of the table with XMLTYPE column.Also when we do the export in direct path it is still going for Conventional(I suppose this is correct for XMLTYPE).
    Is this the general behaviour of XMLTYPE...if so how to improve the performance of the import.
    Can anybody help us out in resolving the issue.

  • Find size of table with XMLTYPE column STORE AS BINARY XML

    Hi,
    I have a table with structure as:
    CREATE TABLE XML_TABLE_1
    ID NUMBER NOT NULL,
    SOURCE VARCHAR2(255 CHAR) NOT NULL,
    XML_TEXT SYS.XMLTYPE,
    CREATION_DATE TIMESTAMP(6) NOT NULL
    XMLTYPE XML_TEXT STORE AS BINARY XML (
    TABLESPACE Tablespace1_LOB
    DISABLE STORAGE IN ROW
    CHUNK 16384
    RETENTION
    CACHE READS
    NOLOGGING)
    ALLOW NONSCHEMA
    DISALLOW ANYSCHEMA
    TABLESPACE Tablespace2_DATA
    - So HOW do I find the total size occupied by this table. Does BINARY storage work as LOB storage. i.e. I need to consider USER_LOBS as well for this.
    OR foll. will work
    select segment_name as tablename, sum(bytes/ (1024 * 1024 * 1024 )) as tablesize_in_GB
    From dba_segments
    where segment_name = 'XML_TABLE_1'
    and OWNER = 'SCHEMANAME'
    group by segment_name ;
    - Also if I am copying it to another table of same structure as:
    Insert /*+ append */ into XML_TABLE_2 Select * from XML_TABLE_1.
    Then how much space in ROllbackSegment do I need. Is it equal to the size of the table XML_TABLE_1?
    Thanks..

    I think foll query calculates it right while including the LOB storage as:
    SELECT SUM(bytes)/1024/1024/1024 gb
    FROM dba_segments
    WHERE (owner = 'SCHEMA_NAME' and
    segment_name = 'TABLE_NAME')
    OR (owner, segment_name) IN (
    SELECT owner, segment_name
    FROM dba_lobs
    WHERE owner = 'SCHEMA_NAME'
    AND table_name = 'TABLE_NAME')
    It's 80 GB for our Table with XMLType Column.
    But for the second point:
    Do we need 80GB of UNDO/ROLLBACK Segment for performing:
    Insert /*+ append */ into TableName1 Select * from TableName;
    Thanks..

  • Creating Select List with multiple columns

    I want to create a select list with multiple columns. I followed the demo application model described in the by Denes Kubicek (Currently my reference for APEX !!)

    I created this anonymous Pl/SQL function at a application level ..Then I followed up to create a select list with a function inside. However I could not create select list with the command suggested in the demo which is
    select getcrops(cropid) d, cropid r from crop;
    APEX (2.1) returns a error message. What am I missing ? Should the function be called from somewhere else after creating a regular select list..? Where the functions (Pl/SQL) should be ideally stored for application level access..? and for across application level access ? How can I check the function works good. Help is appreciated.

    Still really one column.
    If they need to be independent then you've got to have three selection lists.

  • WebService get list 750 records with 8 columns in mx:DataGrid atleast 2 minutes

    I am using WebService (ASP.NET) to get a list of customers (around 750) records with 8 columns using mx:DataGrid. It takes to list data in the mx grid atleast 2 minutes from offline development data server[SQL SERVER 2005]. It could be better if the list populate the datagrid with-in 1 minute. I didn't find how to resolve the problem. My WebService returns the ArrayCollection within 1 minute.
    Any hints would appreciate!
    T. Ghosh

    It doesn’t matter how many records, what matters is how many attributes and sub-objects.  One customer returned 100 records, each with a transaction history of some 10,000 transactions, although the transactions were not displayed in the datagrid (it would be later in the detail view).  Then the app was configured to convert the records to typed objects.  As one would expect, it took forever.  You might have to create a custom converter or just use the SOAP/XML.

  • OCI-21560 when using XMLElement

    Dear All,
    I've just made my first step regarding to the XML field, but the following select caused me an error:
    select XMLElement ("colors", color) from my_colors;
    OCI-21560: argument 3 is null, invalid, or out of range
    I was looking for answers on google and here, but I couldn't find anything usable.
    One did tell me, that the reason of the error might be using Oracle version 9.2.0.4, so I patched it to 9.2.0.6, but the problem remained the same...
    I do really hope that someone has the solution here and won't hesistate to share it with me! :-)

    Kind Regards,

    You should report this in a service request on http://metalink.oracle.com.
    It is a shame that you put all the effort here to describe your problem, but on the other hand you can now also copy & paste the question to Oracle Support.
    Because you are using 10.2.0.3; I am guessing that you have a valid service contract...

  • How to select records with certain fields unique while others not

    Hi,
    For example, I have table with 6 columns, called 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F'. There's no unique constraint built-in, and I would like to select records that have both column 'A' and 'B' unique. What should the sql statement look like?
    Columns 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F' can have same data in different records or null, not a concern.
    Thanks.

    select A, B, max(C), max(D), max(E), max(F) from <your_tab>
    group by A, B
    select * from (select t.*, row_number() over (partition by A,B order by null) rn from <your_tab> t)
    where rn=1they are not the same, but seem to meet your needs both.

  • Faces issue when selecting 'edit with CS4' (or any other external editor)

    Ok, so I have a work flow where I effectively use Nik Plugins. I have the complete set so that i can use them in Aperture and CS4. I correct exposure and white balance and crop in Aperture but then have automators set up in CS4 to apply Nik plugin effects via a batch change process ie no manual adjustments needed, start the batch and come back 20 mins later. Anyway thats somewhat irrelevant....
    Once stage one is done in Aperture I select faces and see that all looks fine. Suggestions appear over faces etc as you'd expect. BUT if I then select edit with CS4 (via right click) on that image it creates a duplicate image (as its non-destructive) and opens it in CS4. Fine. But if you go in to Aperture the faces on this duplicate image are now all messed up. They are not at all over peoples faces but seemingly in random places. Right click and selecting detect faces does nothing. So in summary if I edit anything with CS4 and hit save so that the changes appear in Aperture then hit faces to tag people I have to effectively start from scratch and delete all the faces (not over peoples faces) and add new faces.
    The best way to illustrate this is with screenshots. See this link for 2 screenshots of the issue. http://adamlewis.zenfolio.com/screenshot
    Can someone else confirm they have this issue at all first off to see if it is a specific issue to myself or a generic Aperture issue?
    After that I guess we can proceed with troubleshooting and solutions.
    PS I have repaired my library and rebuilt it and have upgraded Aperture to the latest 3.2.2 (released today / yesterday but note the issue was found under 3.2.1 so its not a 3.2.2 specific issue).

    Maybe I should have made it clearer in my original post. The 1st paragraph was just for colour. The fact of using Nik has nothing to do with the issue. The below quote is the issue:
    "Suggestions appear over faces etc as you'd expect. BUT if I then select edit with CS4 (via right click) on that image it creates a duplicate image (as its non-destructive) and opens it in CS4. Fine. But if you go in to Aperture the faces on this duplicate image are now all messed up. They are not at all over peoples faces but seemingly in random places."
    Thus the issue is generated by merely selecting Edit with CS4. ie no editing done in CS4 and not even saved in CS4. Just selecting edit with CS4 in Aperture creates the duplicate image in Aperture (and sends it to CS4 but lets assume we do nothing with it there at all) but creates a duplicate with face tags in the wrong places.
    After further investigation I changed my external editing software option in preferences to Pixelmator and the same issue occurs.
    So to replicate the issue in my place there are 2 simple steps that I need to make (and would like tested by someone else):
    1. Tag some peoples faces in an Aperture image
    2. Select edit with (any external editor)
    Then go back in to Aperture (immediately) and select faces on the duplicate image created and see if the faces are in the correct position.
    Note I have my external editor set to TIFF 8 Bit 300dpi using Adobe RGB colour space.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Issues with selecting value from XMLType column

    I want to retrieve values from my XMLType column. Can anyone tell me why this works

        extractvalue(CCD_DOC, 'title') as Title
    from CCDwhere ClinicalDocument is the root element?
    I don't get any errors from the second one but the three XML-derived columns are null. The values are not retrieved while the values ARE retrieved using the first method.
    Thanks!

    According to the documentation, I should be able to create a structured XMLIndex on the XMLType column with the following syntax:
    SQL> create index eci_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl_virt_xmlix on eci_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl_virtual
    2 (INV_DTL_IMG)
    3 INDEXTYPE IS XDB.XMLIndex
    4 parameters ('PATH TABLE RIED_PATH_TABLE')
    5 local;
    When I do this, I get the following error:
    create index eci_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl_virt_xmlix on eci_schema.rev_item_earn_dtl_virtual
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29958: fatal error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-30959: The indexed column is not stored in CLOB.
    What am I doing wrong? Based on the Oracle documentation, I was under the impression that 11.2 XMLIndex would work with Object Relational storage. Is this not the case?

    CREATE INDEX ECI_SCHEMA.REV_ITEM_EARN_DTL_IX7
           ON ECI_SCHEMA.REV_ITEM_EARN_DTL
                      extractValue(inv_dtl_img, '/revenueInvoice/service/transportation/mstrTrkngNbr')
    TABLESPACE ECI_REV_ITEM_EARN_DTL_IX7_ITS

    /Elements that occur at most once in each document can be indexed using extractValue(). Despite the fact that the index appears to be a functional index, when we create the index we automatically re-write the create index into a normal btree index on the column that contains the value for the element identified by the xpath.
    Eg in the case of a functional index based on extractValue, defined on XMLType using Object relational storage, with an xpath that identifies a node that occurs at most once in each document is not a functional index, it's re-written into a plain old vanilla btree index. You can actually check this by looking in the system tables
    Eg
    SQL> connect system/oracle
    Connected.
    SQL> select table_name, index_name from all_indexes where owner = 'OE' and table_name = 'PURCHASEORDER';
    TABLE_NAME                     INDEX_NAME
    PURCHASEORDER                  LINEITEM_TABLE_MEMBERS
    PURCHASEORDER                  ACTION_TABLE_MEMBERS
    PURCHASEORDER                  SYS_C0011037
    SQL> alter session set current_schema = OE
      2  /
    Session altered.
    SQL> create unique index PO_REF_INDEX on PURCHASEORDER (extractValue(object_value,'/PurchaseOrder/Reference'));
    Index created.
    SQL> set lines 250
    SQL> select index_name, index_type from all_indexes where owner = 'OE' and table_name = 'PURCHASEORDER';
    INDEX_NAME                     INDEX_TYPE
    PO_REF_INDEX                   NORMAL
    LINEITEM_TABLE_MEMBERS         NORMAL
    ACTION_TABLE_MEMBERS           NORMAL
    SYS_C0011037                   NORMAL
    SQL> select * from dba_ind_expressions where table_name = 'PURCHASEORDER' and index_owner = 'OE'
      2  /
    no rows selectedFrom the above we can see that the index created on extractValue has been re-written in a plain old vanilla BTREE index, and there is no definition for it in dba_ind_expressions So assuming you were able to create the index and insert the data you should find that your index is not a functional index.
