Ooma Service Blocked?

I have the Verizon 4G LTE Router and cannot get my Ooma to make outgoing calls (incoming calls work fine).
The Ooma diagnostics report ports 123 and 53 are blocked.
I've tried the following, to no avail:
Forwarding ports 53 and 123 to the Ooma device (after reserving its IP address to make sure it doesn't change)
Putting the Ooma device in the DMZ
This leads me to believe Verizon Wirelss is blocking my VoIP service. Their technicians, on 2 separate calls, denied this and said all ports are open.
Am I missing anything? Is it possible to get Ooma running the the VZW 4G LTE network?
Thanks!

Verizon is blocking your communication on those ports as they are not some of the few normal and well known ports used by most users.  VZW is blocking access from the network firewall level which means there is nothing you can do from your device to allow the communication.  VZW will not make an acception when it comes to thier firewall.
Here are your options:
1. Purchase a Static IP Address for $500.00.  Static IPs are outside of VZW's NAT Firewall where custom port configurations are allowed.
2. Setup a VPN to a server on a network that normally allows this communication.  VPN's can be established on a PC or at the router level if you care to purchase or configure your router to do so.
3.  Cancel your VZW service and sign up with someone else who does allow those ports.  No recomendations for you on this particular subject.  All wireless ISPs are likely to behave the same way so you would likely have to go DSL or Cable.

  • Email service blocked and BBM not working on BB torch slide

    HI.
I have real issues with my phone. First, my BBM stopped working, so I thought it was the bbm rim server because all other applications were working(whatsapp, email, facebook etch). Then I stopped receiving emails. Again, I didn't take it too seriously until I tried to send emails and a red cross appears with a message saying "service Blocked".
At this point, it is strange cause my browser works and my facebook. What really got me pissed was that my whatsapp stopped working as well, and I'm no longer on my mobile service plan, I'm using wifi at home. I was two seconds away from resetting my phone when it occured to me that it might not solve the problem.
I have looked at other possible solotions online and my phone does not have the advance system settings or the enterprise activation menu. I don't know what to do, HELP!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Some clarification is needed...I cannot tell exactly if your device is a BES-enabled one or not...if it is, then stop now and seek support from your BES admins as they control, well, everything.
If you are not BES, then with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Then again...
    misskedia wrote:
and I'm no longer on my mobile service plan, I'm using wifi at home.
If, by that, you mean that you have allowed your mobile service plan to expire, then that could explain everything. There are many services on BBs that are proprietary, and access to them requires subscription to an adequate data plan from your provider, regardless of the channel you use them through. Even if you only use WiFi as your connection pathway, you still must have an adequate data plan from your carrier in order to do many things, including email and BBM.
So if that's the case, then it explains everything...sometimes, when a data plan is allowed to expire, it takes the carrier a few days (sometimes longer) to "catch up" and shut things down that you are not paying them for.
    Good luck!

  • Can't accept BBM invitations and Invites sent show as "Pending for Authorization" but recipients are not receiving them either (PIN Message Status : Service Blocked)

I recenly changed device from BB Curve 8530 to BB Bold 9900 and ever since then can't accept BBM invitations and Invites sent shows only as "Pending for Authorization" but recipients are not receiving them either. Tried sending PIN messages  but  I got a red x next to the message and the status says: "Service Blocked" .
When my phone got lost, I was lucky that I just synchronized my device to my BB Desktop. Not only was I able to retrieve my contacts (phonebooks and BBM) but also ALL txt msgs and even call logs
Anway, that happening, I assumed I don't need to re-send all my BBM friends invites since some were able to communicate with me. But for those who have deleted my profile (knowing it got lost) and were still on my contact were the ones affected. I tried deleting them and sent an invite only to find out that: I can't accept BBM invitations and Invites sent shows as "Pending for Authorization" but recipients are not receiving any. (they also have the same pending for authorization notice on their end)
When I tried to send them a PIN message I get a red x next to the message nd get the service blocked message.
Help I do not know what else to do.
** FYI: new contacts added with my new PIN have no prob sending invites and me accepting them all.

    Hello Lhea,
This issue is most likely Caused by the BlackBerry not being provisioned for BlackBerry Data Services.
Please have a look at the following article that covers "Service Blocked" when sending a PIN message:

  • 'Service Blocked'

I have the new 8900 - I have had no problems setting my home email up on BIS, but have had major issues with my employers BES. After much pain we have managed to get must funtionality working. I can receive mails, and it will update sent mails from my PC on the handhelp (all wireless) - however I am unable to send email from my handset - I get the following error message 'service blocked' and the message fails. Does anybody have any idea what the issue may be? I am O2 in the UK as my provider - my employers BES is in India.

That issue has to be resolved with the carrier. If you contact your carrier thay can check over your account and make any changes needed to your account. They can also make sure that you have the BES plan, and not the BIS plan.
If someone has been helpful please consider giving them kudos by clicking the star to the left of their post.

  • Blackberry Redirector - Reply error (Service Blocked)

    Hi All,
My company is using BES but I don't have right to access using my own Blackberry.  Therefore I want to use Blackberry Redirector to redirect the email to my own Blackberry and reply email.  But I have a problem when using Blackberry Redirector to reply email.
My detail is shown as follow
    I am using BIS only
I am using BB Bold 9000
install Blackberry Desktop Manager then Blackberry Redirector
After installation, my BB can receive email and calender.
    email:
when I sent from my laptop outlook, it can also be updated in my BB
when I receive email, it can also be pushed in my BB (but if more than 2k message I cannot receive and cannot request to retrieve more)
calender (strange in this part, as I surf in forum someone said suppose I cannot receive calender using BB redirector):
can be updated when I add or modify a calender in my outlook
cannot update to outlook if i update from my BB
A little bit strange, I can receive my company email even when I switch of my laptop.
But using redirector (I don't sure I am using redirector or not to receive email as I can also receive email when my laptop is off), I cannot reply or forward email and it will shown "Service Blocked" in the send out email.
Does anyone know what can I set in my laptop side?  As I guess the problem is because this is only a single way communication.  My laptop is within my company network and there may have some security issue, therefore it can transfer the message out of the network but outsider (i.e. my Blackberry) cannot communicate from internet to my company internal network.  Should anything I can set to guide a route towards my laptop?
Actually I don't sure what happened inside.  Could anyone give me some hints on it?  Thank you.
    Best regards,
    kenny

    Hello kenny_cheung
If you are getting email when your laptop is off then you
are not using redirector.  Calendar will
not update OTA in either direction if you are using redirector or if you are
using the BlackBerry Internet Service.  The
only way to get OTA calendar is if you are on a BES.
It sounds like you are connected to the company BES.
When you get an email on the device if you scroll up to the
top what does it say for received using?  It should say Desktop Secure if you are on the
    BES.

If your company has Outlook Web Access setup on the Exchange
server then your best option would be to use the BlackBerry Internet Service
    (BIS).
You can find more information on how to integrate an Outlook
Web Access account with BIS at the link below

  • WiFi Service Blocked

I am travelling internationally and after a week, I am suddenly no longer able to send or receive emails over wifi.
When I try to send an email, I get an X with a Status: Service Blocked
I suspended my Virgin Mobile service for the month that I am away since they do not provide roaming coverage outside the USA.
I am in Costa Rica and am able to visit some websites (i.e. Google News Espana), but not all (i.e. Google).  This is annoying.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Maybe I should get an android phone?

I use my own WiFi in my home. This is not provided by my BB carrier but unless the BB carrier enables the device to operate wirelessly it doesn't work.
When I leave my home I can connect to WiFi "hotspots" provided by my home internet provider but only if my BB has it enabled it which it has.
You cannot "roam" with your providers service but that shouldn't prevent wireless connection to, say, your hotel WiFi UNLESS, by suspending your carrier service, the phone is no longer enabled.
The instructions for the BB clearly says "and your wireless service plan supports it." By virtue of your suspending your service, you may have fallen foul of this statement because you have effectively cancelled the service no doubt thinking why pay for the phone service when you won't be there to use it.
This isn't a BB issue - or I will be most surprised if it is - its one of not having a suitable data plan attached to it. Hence the reason to suggest trying to buy a temporary service for the duration of your visit.
Somone far clever than I, may be able to suggest a differnt approach; but fundamentally, no plan means no service.
I suppose you could try and contact your carrier.

  • Listener Service Blocked

Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003
One Listener Service with Two instances
I understand you, the reader, may have some experience working with Oracle Servers and I am hoping you may be able to shed some light on my current issue.
I have Oracle 10g Version 10.1.0.2.0 Standard running on Windows Server 2003 SP2. There are multiple database instances; as you know each instance has a SID, its own service “OracleService<SID>”, memory space, files, configurations, etc.
Each database runs though the same listener with an individual listener service.
There are now six databases on the system (mastsch1, indosch1, bathsch1, bathsch2, bathsch3, and bathsch4)
The most recent database, bathsch4, is a clone/copy of bathsch3.
I chose to use the Database Administrator Console to Clone an existing database (bathsch3) to create a new database (bathsch4).
What I ended up with was a single listener service “bathsch4” reporting two instances “bathsch4” READY and “bathsch3” BLOCKED.
I’ve checked lsnrctl services and status to gather this information, validated the PATH, and registry settings, and tested resolution of TNSPING which all report the same issue.
    Issue 1:
I need assistance in understanding how exactly to alter “bathsch3” so it runs again in its own listener service “bathsch3” and is no longer BLOCKED.
Thankfully, all of the other databases (mastsch1, indosch1, bathsch1, bathsch2, and bathsch4) are running correctly.
I walked through many scripts and diagnostics to get were I thought stopping and starting the service would bring me back to completion, but ended up after a system cycle back to the same problem, so I’ve clearly missed something.
In the process of researching this issue, I found that my listener.log had grown exponentially and was at 700 MB already. The majority of this log was the windows service “OracleServicebathsch3” attempting to connect to the database.
I shutdown the database and stopped the service which drastically reduced the rate of growth.
    Issue 2:
I need assistance in understanding how exactly to set up the listener.log to either rollover or truncate after 20 MB.
If you believe you are capable of provide me with any helpful guidance? Please do so, I am happy to answer any question and provide every bit of information you feel would be of assistance.
    Thank you,
    James

Thank you for your response - I will definitely attempt your suggestion for item 2.
With regards to item 1, it appears that I'm not explaining the listener issue well enough.
On Windows Server 2003 R2 with Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 Standard running if you were to check the listener status, I appear to have only one listener with the correct endpoint.
If you check the listener services you will see that one listener service, with the name of the new database, is listed as having two dependent instances, the original database, bathsch3, and the new database, bathsch4.
The original database, bathsch3, is blocked.
I need guidance on how to uncouple the original database, bathsch3, from the “bathsch4” service and get it back on its own service.
To follow is a run of the listener status in case it helps to “see” what I am saying.

  • Service Blocked in Listener

    Hello All
To be able to write a rman backup to a share I need to have the db service and listener started as the same user
that I use to write to the share. According to MOS:
How to Configure RMAN to Write to Shared Drives on Windows NT/2000 [ID 145843.1]
On one machine I have an issue when changing the user from local to a domain user.
The service becomes blocked in the listener, I have also restarted the listener with the same user.
I have confirmed that the user are member of needed groups (ora_dba, administrators)
and have the required policies granted...
What do I need to do to change th service to ready ?
If I change back to local system account the service is ready again.
    Appreciate your feedback and comments.

  • Windows Services blocking application of patchset for 11.1.0.7

I'm trying to apply the patchset to bring Oracle database from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7. Things are running smoothly as-is, but I want to be current. When I try to apply the patchset, it complains that 37(!) windows services are holding files that oracle needs to update. Some of the services I can stop (and I do), but some I can't, either because windows immediately restarts the service or there simply isn't a Stop capability available (e.g. DCOM Server Process Launcher).
I've tried rebooting (several times) - no luck. (BtW, This is on XP Pro, SP3).
Any suggestions on how to get around this? Even to discover what files are being held might help. The log files just list the services causing the problems.
    Thanks for any help!

That's a known problem on XP,although I didn't yet see that almost all services are involved. Normally the installer complains about some locked DLLs only. Nevertheless try the following workaround (and make sure - as already said - no Oracle service is running):
    1) Rename $ORACLE_HOME\bin to something else
    2) Reboot the machine
    3) Rename back to $ORACLE_HOME\bin and try again

  • Location services blocked by firewall

    Hi,
I have an ipad 4 (iOS 7) in which i am using location services to track. I am using the wireless network at my work office which is firewalled. How do i configure the ipad so that i can see it on location services? I have already added the proxy settings into the wireless settings and can access external websites etc but still cannot see this ipad on location services, it just shows as Offline. I have ensured location services is turned on on the ipad and all restrictions are off. Is there anything else that i can attempt?
    Thanks

Let's back up. What do you mean when you say you want your ipad to work "so that i can see it on location services?" Are you talking about Find My iPad?
Location Services is a sub system that allows applications to access location data. Having it turned on has nothing to do with tracking your iPad. In order to do so, you need to associate the iPad with your Apple ID.
If you haven't already done that, follow these instructions.

very interesting.. that is probably the issue.
Which allows them to "advertise" every time you mistype a URL. Use other DNS servers and you'll get the proper 404 bad url page.

  • Is SIP service blocked on the data plan for a Jet Pack.

I get fine SIP service on my local WIFI and none on my Verizon Jetpack. Seems anti competitive and illicit to me.  I have 4 bars of 4G service.

We can use our SIP service over our own Internet/WIFi connection using a computer to receive the WiFi and “route” the connection to a SIP phone via the RJ-45 connector on the computer.
When we switch from our WiFi connection to the Verizon Jet pack WiFI service on the computer, SIP service no longer works.  When we switch back to our own WIFi connection, SIP works again.

    Yep.
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as additional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • How to add a new filter in an existing web service method (BIWS - WEBI document)

Hello Experts, we have 7 web service query's connected to a dashboard. Basically it is one WSDL URL and 7 Get Methods...Web service queries are BIWS (via WEBI document instance). There are filters setup for each of these web service methods.
Recently there was a request to add 2 new fields to the webi document and also the 2 fields need to be included as filters in the 7 methods. I know there is an option to edit the method, but when i edit the method, i cannot find the 2 new fields in list to set as filters. Can anybody help me understand how to add filters to an existiing web service method? I do not want to delete the method and republish the block as web service.
Any help will be great and points rewarded.
    Thank you
    Ann

    Hi Ann,
The reason you are not able to see any of the new columns as a option to select in your web service block is because when you have published that block, they were not present. Add these two new objects in your block and publish it again. You will be prompted for duplication content. Select the highlighted block for duplicate and now you can see the new added objects in the filter option. Update and this will overwrite your published block. Please note, web services do appear to behave weirdly when used with dashboards so I request you to please try it in a separate test report first.
    Hope that helps.

  • Problem about Calling SQLplus Web Service on Aspen Watch Server

    Hi all,
We're using MII 11.5 and trying to call a web service from a Aspen Watch server through the web service block in transaction. The web service enclosed a function call ExecuteSQL which will accept a sql query function and return a set of Data. Now, using the same web service on two different servers, we got a success(server A) and a failure(Server B). On the failed call, right in the first page of enter a URL, it will return a "SOAP Service could not be loaded: The element type 'META' must be terminated by the machine end-tag '</META>'" error.
According to the admin of the web server, the web service on both servers can be called correctly when he created two simple ASP pages. After serious testing, he thought that the only reason should be MII may not be compatible with .Net 2.0 binding web service. The following is some comparison we made to the two servers.
                                                                                    Server A / Server B / Error, if applicable

    Hi all,
We're using MII 11.5 and trying to call a web service from a Aspen Watch server through the web service block in transaction.
                                                                                    Server A / Server B / Error, if applicable
    .Net Framework installed on MII server:                                 1.1, 2.0 /      1.1, 2.0
    .Net Binding:                                                                          1.1 /               2.0
IIS version on MII server:                                                 6 /                 6
From MII server broser to Server A web service:                 Yes /      Yes
From MII server browser to Server B web service:                 No /     No /      Return on web "The test form is only available for requests from the local machine"
From localhost browser to Server A web service:                 n/a //     Yes
From localhost browser to Server B web service:                 Yes //     n/a
From PC browser to Server B web service:                                No /        Yes /     Return on web "The test form is only available for requests from the local machine"
Credentials required to run web service:                                 No /     Yes /
