OOPS concept not included in java

Could anyone help me which " OOPS concept " is not included in Java
thanks
Dilip

It's more the latter than the former.I think I understood what you wrote, but Im not
sure. And I am being nervous, a little...
It means that the key reason for omitting multiple
inheritance of implementation from Java is for
reasons of simplicity rather than performance.
[url=http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-1998/jw-

problem'My unerstanding wasa that the diamond problem is really not that big a deal. There can be ambiguity if the language allows it, but all you have to do is select one of a handful of possibilities and put that in the lang spec and, poof, no more diamond problem. Not sure what specific problems there are that are less tractable though.

  • Properties files in a Java package not included in DC build

    We are developing a Portal Standalone DC and i have a JspDynPage component within it. and i need to do internationalization in  it. so as part of that i want to keep multiple resource bundles(properties) so that i could manage my properties files easily, For example
    MSS.properties
    MSS_es.properties
    ESS.properties
    LSO.properties
    since portal by default has no way to do this bcos it allows only one resourcebundle to specify in portalapp.xml file, i have kept the resource bundles in java package like
    com.companyname.portal.resources.
    when i export from NWDS with selection of "i want to add non java resources into jar " option from windows->preferences->enterprise portal ->application development studio, it exports all the properties files as part of the par and everything works. but when i do the DC build it ignores all my properties files and it is not working. any suggestions on how to resolve this??? does SAP provide any other way of handling multiple properties files inside a PAR?????

    We are using NWDS 2004 SP19.  and yes i have defined three default SCs as dependencies. I tested with 2004s NWDS and it seems work fine. I am able to resovle this issue by moving my properties files into another java DC and create public part in java DC and use those public parts in Portal application DC.
    So The problem of not including the properties files into Jar seems to be issue only in Portal Application DC not in Java DC. thanks everyone for the quick responses..

  • When included  import java.util.* then why include import java.util.Gregori

    Hi,
    In my program I hava inported the java package like
    import java.util.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.text.*;
    then for using some classes like Gregorial calender,Date etc,I have to again import
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.sql.PreparedStatement;
    import java.util.GregorianCalendar;
    As far as I know if I have import the above like
    import java.util.*; then it means I can use any classes in java.util ,but if I am not importing
    import java.util.GregorianCalendar;
    import java.util.Date;
    my program is giving error.Can somebody tell me,where my concept is wrong.
    Thanks

    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.*;
    //import java.util.Date;  // <-- needed to avoid "the type Date is ambiguous"
    public class PackageEg {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Date test = new Date();
    }This code gives an error when I compile it, but if I include the
    java.util.Date import it is good. The reason is that there are two
    possible Date classes - one in java.util and one in java.sql. The
    compiler cannot figure out which one I mean.
    If I include a specific class like java.util.Date, then this one will be used
    in preference to any .* imports. (These are called "imports on demand")
    This explains why you need java.util.Date, but the other two are a
    mystery. As far as I know PreparedStatement and GregorianCalander
    are unique names within the packages you mention. Could you post
    some code that will not compile unless the specific import statements
    are there?

  • OOP concept in pl/sql

    I am new to pl/sql , i want to understand the oop concept please anybody guide me.... where it is used in real environment?PL/SQL supports a number of OOP concepts - such as abstract classes, inheritance, polymorphism and so on. I did a basic example of customised data types in {message:id=2352848} - here I've explored using custom data types for dealing with 1000's of variant data attributes (called MIBs) from hardware devices (instead of using varchar2 for all values).
    What I do not consider a good idea though is mixing OOP with actual database design. Relational design is by far simpler, and provides easier use and better performance.
    The same consideration needs to be given for PL/SQL. PL/SQL is usually used as a database interface layer - instead of the Java/.Net/etc client having to know the db structures and use SQL, this is abstracted and presented via a PL/SQL interface. In such a case, using OOP in PL/SQL will not be of much benefit as using custom SQL data types on the client side is not the norm. (it is supported by the Oracle client driver, but requires a more complex approach than simply using standard SQL types already supported by the client language).
    Within PL/SQL itself, OOP can be beneficial. It can be used to make something complex (e.g. like DBMS_SQL cursors) into a much simpler and more flexible OO interface instead.
    Using OOP in PL/SQL is no different than using any other programming technique - in that you need to make sure that it is the better option for doing the job. That it makes writing code easier. Makes maintenance easier. Makes the code more robust. Enables the code to perform well. Etc.

  • Error while extending controller: class name is wrong or not included

    Hi All,
    I am getting this error while I port my extended controller class to the custom top and assign this controller to the page. I have made sure its the class file that is copied. The directory is correct, the permissions were given using chmod 775. There exists a soft link betwen the custom top and the oracle top as well. What else am I missing here?
    Error: oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Could not create Java class: (oracle.apps.ap.oie.entry.webui.XXEntryFlowPageCO) associated with region: (GeneralInformationPG). This is probably because the class name is wrong or not included in project.

    :( Started out with that Gyan. If i do give the path with xx. appended to it, it lets me save and when i log back in and there are no changes to the page. I go to the personalise option to find the modification has been overwritten. I was told that this is so because Oracle doesnt recognise the xx.path and since there exists a soft link already the standard path with the new controller name should work.
    i have really tried both of these options and am not sure what could be wrong. thanks for all your attempts to help. anything else i can try?

  • OOPs Concept ! - Why Static Methods can't be redefined in its subclass ?

    Dear Experts ,
    I had searched the SDN , but unable to find out the satisfactorily answers ..
    Can anybody let me know the reason for the following Confusion in Oops Concept
    Question 1: As we know , We can Inherit the Static Methods in the Sub Class , But we can't redefine it in the base class  or       Sub Class  ?
    Question 2 : Why can't Static Method be Abstract ?
    Question 3 : Can a Class be Abstract or Final Both, If yes, then why ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Saurabh Goel

    As per the above discussion two of your doubts have already been clarified  so I am taking only third one.
    A class cannot never be Abstract and final both coz Abstract signifies that the implementation of the class has not been defined completelyi.e. may be some methods have been defined but few methods are still missing implementation. 'Final' is used for those classes/methods which cannot be redefined  means the complete implementation of the method has been defined no one can implement further logic under the same method.
    If you are saying your method is Final then it cannot be overridden and Abstract implies that method implementation is yet to be defined which can only be implemented if that class/method is not 'Final'. So both the terms are contradictory.
    Hope it clarifies!!!
    Thanks,
    Vishesh

  • WDrawingSurfaceInfo not found in Java 1.4

    Hi,
    Code:
    WCanvasPeer wcp = (WCanvasPeer) c.getPeer();
    if (wcp == null)
    return 0;
    WDrawingSurfaceInfo wdsi =
    (WDrawingSurfaceInfo) wcp.getDrawingSurfaceInfo();
    This code is residing in a class(myWDrawingSurfaceInfo) which i have created & included in the package sun.awt.windows by using the command
    "package sun.awt.windows" in the first line of the program.
    If i use Java 1.3.1, then the code is compiling fine. But, when I use Java 1.4.1, I get the following error. "class WDrawingSurfaceInfo not found in class sun.awt.windows.myWDrawingSurfaceInfo"
    Can anyone please help me point as to what is happening here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rudra

    Yeah, you shouldn't be using these classes.
    All the classes that are not in the java.* or javax.* packages are subject to change at Sun's will. So don't count on them being there.

  • WorkShop 3.2.0 - WEB-INF/classes not included in war file

    I've created the "Faces Example" project in Workshop Studio 3.2.0 and it's running fine. However, when I export the war file to run it on another server the class files located at "WEB-INF/classes" are not included with the war.
    Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
    thks!

    Unfortunately no, the issue with output folder being ignored occurs only with example apps bundled with Workshop product.
    You can try the following workaround:
    - In Workshop, Project > Properties - Java Build Path, switch to Source tab - "Remove the source folder listing" - Click OK and dismiss Properties window.
    - Project > Properties - Java Build Path > Source Tab, add the same source folder entry - Click OK
    - Export as WAR
    With this you should see the class files bundled under output directory structure (Ex: WEB-INF/classes).

  • Project librarys not included in WAR file with deployment (WEB-INF/lib)

    Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.2
    Project Libraries are not included in WEB-INF/lib when deploying. Although the files are selected in the deployment file at 'Contributors'. Within the 'filter' the .jar files are missing.
    To solve it i have to register again (i have already made the librarys project library's) the files within Tools->ManageLibrarys as user library's.
    The other workaround is to make the library's System Library's within the project.
    In my opinion it is a bug that you must include the project librarys as user librarys within the 'LibraryManager'

  • SJWS SP3 - Not including some jars from war file

    I have a problem when deploying my application using the new Java Web Server SP3 that when my application is deployed my weblogic.jar and j2ee.jar are not included in the classpath that is created.
    I have turned on finest detail logging and it does not say why these jar files are not being included in the path.
    They are in the war files lib dir just like all the other jars(about 14 of them).
    The only way I can get the app to run under SJWS is to add these other two files manualy to the classpath in the server.xml file.
    This app runs fine under JRun 4.0 with no issues.
    Why is this server dropping these jars and not even telling me it did it? What can I do to make it include these files in the proper classpath?
    Thx

  • Which is better to use in alv functions or oops concept

    hi,
    actually some people are using function modules
    and some are using oops concept
    which one is better
    could anybody suggest
    thanks,
    kalyan

    I assume you've found TLFTextField in Flash Pro (I can't remember if Flash Builder made a TLFTextField class or not). Anyway, if you're considering using Flash Pro, here's some background on the TLFTextField class:
    This class was created primarily for backwards compatibility with Classic Text coding. If you used Flash Pro CS 4 or earlier versions, and you wrote ActionScript for your text objects, you were using TextField objects. So, when you upgraded to CS 5, and you decided to convert all your old Classic text objects to the new TLF objects, all your code would have broken were it not for TLFTextField class. TLFTextField implements the TextField API so that your existing TextField code can be used in the TLF environment.
    So, if you're an ActionScript programmer who is already comfortable programming using the TextField API, it certainly makes sense to continue doing so but using TLFTextField objects. However, if you want to take advantage of the new TLF features, the old API doesn't really give you the ability to do that. So, the TLFTextField provided a new API:
    function get textFlow():TextFlow;
    The TextFlow class is the top level class of the TLF model objects. Using that object, you can then set attributes on your text just as if you were working with TextFlow in Flash Builder. So, in essence, TLFTextField provides backwards compatibility, continued use of the familiar API set, and access to the TextFlow model class.
    Another nuance to be aware of is that if you choose to embed fonts, TLF requires the newer "DF4" (for DefineFont4, based on the SWF Tag name) vs. the older "DF3" fonts that TextField requires. For text on the stage, Flash Pro will do all the tricky work for deciding when to embed DF3 and when to embed DF4 fonts, but just be aware that mixing Classic text and TLF text when using embedded fonts can cause a "double tax" on your SWF size because it may embed the same font both as DF3 and DF4.
    Good Luck!
    Rusty

  • HI   ALV USING OOPS CONCEPT

    hi
    i would like to have coding for total and subtotal in alv using oops concept and (not using function module).
    also i would like to have coding for cell color and heading and footer.
    thanx in adv
    rocky

    Hi Rocky,
    please check this link
    http://www.****************/Tutorials/ALV/Total/text.htm
    While modifying field catalog , try the following.
    Field-symbols: <lfs_fieldcat> TYPE lvc_s_fcat.
    LOOP AT i_fieldcat ASSIGNING <lfs_fieldcat>.
    CASE <lfs_fieldcat>-fieldname.
    WHEN 'LOSGR'.
    <lfs_fieldcat>-coltext = text-007.
    <lfs_fieldcat>-do_sum = c_x.
    ENDCASE.
    ENDLOOP.
    Or if you want to use field symbols.
    data: total type ref to data,
    subtotal1 type ref to data.
    field-symbols <total> like gt_sflight.
    field-symbols <subtotal1> like gt_sflight.
    call method grid1->get_subtotals
    importing
    ep_collect00 = total
    ep_collect01 = subtotal1.
    assign total->* to <total>.
    assign subtotal1->* to <subtotal1>.
    Best regards,
    raam

  • SC creation using oops concept

    Hi we are writing code in SRM7.o using oops concept, based on FM BBP_SC_APP_EVENT_DISPATCHER events which triggers while creating SC from portal.
    am using the class /SAPSRM/CL_PDO_BO_SC_ADV and using the methods of following class which suitable for the events.
    if any one created same SC or any related to this code, please share with me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi There,
    SRM 7.0 already uses object oriented programming, i.e. ABAP Objects. Why not just use what is already provided?
    Regards,
    Jason

  • Sub total in ALV GRID using oops concept

    Hi,
    If Plant (VBAP-WERKS) is not the same for all items on a Sales Order (VBAK-VBELN is the same for al items) then create a separate line on the report for each different plant specified in the line items.  Copy all fields from the original order line except for plant and Net Value.  Net Value should be the total of item Net Values for all items with the same plant in the order.
    Example:
    Data:
    Order----                     Item-             Plant-                                     Net Value---
    123----          010-               3467-                      100.00---
    123----          020-               7865-                      50.00---
    123----          030-               3467-                     80.50---
    Report:
    Order-                     Plant-                  Net Value---
    123-          3467-                  180.50---
    123-          7865-                   50.00----
    I need to dispaly the Report format in ALV Grid using oops concept...
    no need of calling any function modules.
    Regards,
    Nithya

    Hi
    Here is example code
    This is the method to be called:
    get_subtotals
    Use
    Returns the current subtotals of the ALV Grid Control. Having created totals for at least one column, users can calculate at most nine subtotals. The list is sorted by the values of one or several columns (called the subtotals column). If a value is changed in the subtotals column, the subtotal is displayed (this is also referred to as control level change).
    Integration
    Before you access the subtotals value, you use the method get_sort_criteria to get the sort table . One row of this table describes properties of a column in the output table.
    • If the field SUBTOT is set for a column in this table, the column is a subtotals column.
    • The field SPOS then indicates at which level (see below) the subtotal has been calculated.
    • The field FIELDNAME contains the name of the subtotals column in the output table.
    Based on this information, you specifically access the values of the tables passed (using reference variables COLLECT01 to COLLECT09).
    Features
    CALL METHOD <ref. var. to CL_GUI_ALV_GRID>->get_subtotals
    IMPORTING
    EP_COLLECT00 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT01 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT02 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT03 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT04 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT05 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT06 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT07 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT08 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    EP_COLLECT09 = <reference variable of type REF TO DATA>
    ET_GROUPLEVELS = <ínternal table of type LVC_T_GRPL>.
    In order to access the values of EP_COLLECT00 to EP_COLLECT09, you use ASSIGN to dereference the relevant reference variable in a field symbol of your output table type (see below).
    Parameters
    Meaning
    EP_COLLECT00
    Points to the totals line. Since there is only one totals line which, in addition, has a unique totalling area, no further information is available for this table in table ET_GROUPLEVELS.
    get_subtotals
    EP_COLLECT01 to EP_COLLECT09
    Point to the subtotals line. For each subtotals level, there is one reference variable. Each of these variables points to an internal table that has the type of the output table. EP_COLLECT01 points to the subtotal at the hightest level, while EP_COLLECT02 points to the subtotal at the second highest level, and so on. The levels are derived from the sort priority (field SPOS in the sort table ). The column by which the data was sorted first, is the highest subtotals level.
    ET_GROUPLEVELS
    Manages all indexes for the individual control levels. The fields of the table have the following meaning:
    • INDEX_FROM, INDEX_TO: Rows of the output table for which the subtotal was created
    • LEVEL: Subtotals level (see above)
    • COUNTER: Number of rows for which the subtotal was created
    • COMPRESS: For this subtotals line, the user has hidden the associated rows.
    • COLLECT: Indicates the subtotals table (01-09) in which the values are stored
