Opacity keyframing not working

I have 2 video tracks on top of each other, I'm controlling the opacity of the top track with keyframes. only the 1st keyframe is registering any effect: when I have it set to 100% the entire track is visible, 0% and the entire track is invisible.
I have only 2 active video tracks, both time remapped (1000% and 50%). (although even when I delete the track below it still fails to work). I'm using 5.0.3

Do your time remapping, nest the clip into a new sequence, and then add your opacity keyframes to the nest. This forces opacity to be applied after the time remap; otherwise, the opacity is applied before the remap.

I believe that if you do not use the automatic ken burns effect you need to set the effect for each photo - pick one or two and with the KB slider to the left set the view for the beginning photos and then slide the slider to the right and set the end view - then it will transition between those two (I'm thinking that you can turn auto automatic and override it for just the first slide by making the start and end the same so the transition does not really do anything

Motion/opacity (still) not working when using Time Remapping

Okay: here's my beef. This bug has been around since CS3 and definitely CS4. I was hoping it would be fixed with the arrival of CS5, but apparently it still has not been resolved.
If you use Time Remapping in PPro, you can't use any of the other keyframing features, such as motion or opacity. If you do, the video simply disappears. Rendering won't help either. The only way to get Opacity to function is to superimpose a bar of black video on top of the clip (or any other color matte if you like it fancy) and have the Opacity on that clip work in reverse. How to get motion within such Time Remapped clips to work is still a bit of a mystery to me...
Has anyone else found this tedious/annoying/irritating?
So, dear Adobe, when can we expect a fix for this? Hopefully before CS6...

I have this same exact problem in CS6.
It definitely has to do with time remapping. I have used Opacity keyframes EXTENSIVELY in this film I'm editing, and suddenly when I apply time remapping keyframes, I can't use opacity on them. Ouch!
My solution was (In case someone Googles for a solution and finds this, like I did...) to delete all effects and time remapping, apply the Opacity Keyframes FIRST and THEN add the time remapping last.

Layer Opacity shortcuts not working on mac OSX 10.9.5

Hello,
I work on a macbook pro retina (OSX 10.9.5.) with photoshop CC and the shortcuts to change the layers' opacity don't work. When I press a number (with a tool other than the brush tool), I know it should change the layer's opacity depending on the number pressed.. but it does nothing. Which is strange because when I use this shortcut technique with the brush tool, it works just fine. Does anyone has the same issue ?
Is there a solution to fix it ?

I tried with the num lock and also with the shift key, but nothing happened . I already use the numbers at the top of the keyboard (the MBP retina doesn't have a number pad : first I thought that this was the reason it doesn't work, but then I saw that it worked just fine with the tool brush..) I'm really confused by this.

Motion Keyframes not working/Ken Burns effect etc

Hi,
Have had some good advice relating to my previous issue with motion control/ken burns effect etc... but followed all advice from all parties and still no success. I cannot seem to lay down any motion key frame to set a parameter at the start of a clip. Could I have done something/touched something on the keyboard that has resulted in this? Anyone had this problem before? Suggestions welcome.

Try now this procedure; this is slightly different from the suggestions you had in your previous posts (that BTW work perfectly with me), but should still get you to what you want.
I assume you want to zoom in an image from 100% to 120%, but the same procedure may be applied to any Motiom parameter.
- move the imported image from the browser to the timeline; now you have a new clip in the timeline with the imported image
- open this new clip *from the timeline in the viewer*; a way to do this is to double click the clip in the timeline (make sure you are using the Selection tool (a) to double click); now you see the image in the viewer. Make sure the viewer scrub bar is dotted: this means that what you see in the viewer is actually coming from the timeline and not the browser!
- now select the Motion Tab in the viewer: you are going to set your keyframes there
- move the playhead in the Motion tab to the point where you want the zoom to begin (you'll see the selected image also in the canvas, since the playheads in the canvas and timeline automatically follow that in the viewer); then click the grey diamond between the numeric and the graphic part of the Scale control. This creates the first Scale keyframe with the default value of 100% (and the small diamond is now green, meaning a keyframe is set in that position)
- now move the playhead in the viewer to the position where you want the end of the zoom; again click on the same diamond as above to set a keyframe in the new position, and change the value of the Scale to 120%. The graph on the right now changes to show a slope up from the first to the second keyframe.
If you follow this exact sequence you should be able to get what you want, and with minor variations you may apply also keyframes to any other Motion control, at the same or at different positions.

Gradient with no opacity is not working correctly

I was wondering if anyone had any idea about this problem that I've been having. For some reason when I create a gradient that goes to zero opacity on either end it gets all scattered.
It was working fine and now I've reinstalled it in Windows Vista 64bit. I remember I had this problem the first time I installed it as well but then I turned the update on and it just went away before I really cared too much. Now I've got the update on and went and downloaded the 10.1 from the website and it's starting to bother me.
I went and got the latest drivers for my video card which is a Nvidia 8600 gt, but I'm leaning towards the card being the cause of the problem, but any ideas would be helpful.

I had someone ask me if the dissolve blend mode was on and it wasn't, both of these gradients were applied to the background layer.
And to all you Vista nay sayers I use Vista 64 at work and I've never seen anything like this there before.

The only thing I changed since I've installed it is the scratch disk settings and those have nothing to do with it. I don't see a gradients options per say, but I have been through all the preferences and I turned on 3d hardware acceleration and flipped all the other switches and moved the sliders, I didn't notice any change. If there's another options menu I should be checking let me know (I have CS3 and I think they combined the options and preferences into one menu) And the blend mode in the layer palette is set to normal or to nothing (test is mostly on the background).
And the only problem I'm experiencing with the program is this issue. Everything else works exactly as expected and I haven't noticed long think times or anything. As far as I can tell it is specifically a gradient with a loss of opacity.

Opacity Issues, 3D enabled on layer Opacity does not work, turn it off and it functions normally.

I have a PSD/Text layer with 3D selected, Scale and Opacity are set. The layer in photoshop is a text layer, if this why it is not allowing transparency?

Convert to Keyframes not working????

I have a layer and in that layer I have two pieces of media (a PNG and some text). There is a throw command attached to the whole layer with a "Ramp to final value" set. I want the movement to "ease out" but when I select everything in the layer and then say convert to keyframe ie cmd-K nothing happens, I get the "this could take some time" warning, but there are no Keyframe????
What am I doing wrong? Any ideas. First time I'm using convert to keyframes, so don't know if I'm doing the right thing.

2 things - since the behavior is attached to the layer, you need to select the layer to do convert to keyframes - if you select the objects inside the layer nothing will happen since no behaviors are applied to them directly.
Second, the Throw behavior needs to have "Affect Objects" turned off, otherwise it is applying the animation to the objects inside the layer while still applied to the layer itself.
Basically, convert to keyframes needs to work on something that has behaviors on it directly, and also is affected directly by those behaviors.

Opacity not working?

My photoshop brush isn't working right and I can't figure out why. The opacity seems to be stuck between 30-70% or so, and doesn't change. I have set the opacity at 100%, turned off all tablet options, and turned off fade. The opacity doesn't change. When I use a smaller brush, the opacity seems lower around 40%, and when I use a very large brush, the opacity changes to about 90%. This is without me fiddling with settings, just changing between the regular, round, hard brushes. Also, when the brush is very big, it appears to be fading in at the beginning, and fading out at the end, even though I have the fade turned off.
I have already reinstalled photoshop, reinstalled my tablet, restarted my computer, and tried using the brush with all kinds of settings. Nothing is helping. I am using a wacom bamboo, photoshop elements 5, and window's vista. I would really appreciate any help!

It sounds like corrupt preferences. Reinstall won't fix that. You'll have to do a reset.
First, reset the brush tool and see if that corrects the problem. (With the brush tool selected, look in the options bar (not the toolbox) for the first brush icon on the left hand side. I believe, it will be a slightly different color in E5 than the other icons. Click the little arrow next to the icon and select "Reset Tool".
If the above does not work...
The next step is to reset the application preferences. (Click the icon to launch the editor. Immediately after clicking the editor launch icon, press and keep holding in the alt, control, and shift buttons. Continue to hold these three keys in until you get a dialog that says something like "Delete the Photoshop Elements setting file" click Yes or OK. If the program loads normally without this dialog, you did not grab the three keys fast enough and need to start over).

Auto keyframe and auto transition not working

auto keyframe and auto transition not working and I have a creative cloud, in addition the auto keyframe works in the getting startel lessons....

In order to use these you need to have the autokey frame and transition selected
OFF ON
and have the first key checked then move the playhead to the new position and it should add the transition.
Did you try this and it is not working?.

Toggle clip keyfram button not working...

I recently upgraded to the latest version of fcp and I'm trying to do a variable speed change.
My toggle clip does not work. When I click on it, nothing happens. the tick marks that show the speed are not showing up. (I have also tried opt T) anyone know if I have a setting wrong???

Effects and key-frames not working on some clips Premiere CC 2014

Hi. I am having an issue where effects and key frames applied to both audio and video are not working, but only sometimes. Even after I render or export the video, the effects are not showing up. For example, trying to adjust volume using key-frames on some clips works fine, and not at all on others. The key-frames show up and I can see the volume changing in the effects panel, but it is not happening. Another example is changing the opacity on some video clips and it does not work sometimes. Same thing, I can see the key-frames and the values changing, but it's not actually happening. I have uninstalled and re-installed premiere pro and media encoder with no luck. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Nvidia drivers with no luck. Just to restate, this only happens on some clips and rendering or exporting the video does not help. My computer specs are:
MSI GT60 Laptop:
Intel Core i7 4800MQ (2.70GHz)
16GB Memory 1TB HDD 128GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M 8GB
2880 x 1620 16:9 3K Display
Windows 8.1 64-Bit

Here is the exact screenshot. Now I'm also trying other effects as stated in my original post. But this effect is just an example. Is there really something that I'm doing wrong here? Or am I forgetting something? Is there some special "adobe doesn't let keyframes work on mpg's" rule or something silly like that?
I wish that I could post a video, but I don't know how.
Please let me know what I need to do to make this work properly.

Fade not working

I cannot get fade out at the end of a clip; using the Rt click/Fade/fade Video out or Fade Audio out.
I've consulted the manual and a search on "Fade" and "Fade in" brings up nothing relative to that menue option; it just talks about transitions.
How does the option know what end to apply a Fade to? It seems to be working on the front end of the clip on track 1, but not that back end. How can I tell if a Fade has been applied to a clip, and how do I remove a Fade?
I have a couple short clips on track 2 where the Fade; at the end of the clip, seems to be working.
fyi the Audio/Visual in tracks 1 and 2 of my clips have been unlinked, and the audio has been removed from the clips on track 2.

Do you confirm that at this time, your only problem is with the one clip that you have targeted in your screenshot? I want to make sure of that so I am posting a mark up of your screenshot.

Great! I had no idea, that solves a lot of problems I've had with missing keyframes when I use Fade; which; seems to me, is just very squirrely! Look at some the wierd behaviours I've captured in the collection of screenshots!

To get around them I added transisitons and used the "Adjust" options.

what happens if you highlight the clip, go to Applied Effects Palette/Opacity Panel, expand the Opacity Panel to see its options, and click on the Fade Out there?
This has been my work around. When I do that I get the results I desire. I think you suggestion of using the Ctrl key to put a keyframe in place will also help in working with the squirrely Fade feature.
Another supportive information might be right clicking the video in its middle if you are indeed right clicking at the extreme right edge of the video for the Fade Out. You can right click the video at its beginning, select Fade Out, and still you will get the Opacity keyframe toward the end of that video.
That's a good approach, but I'm pretty certain there are no "slivers" I just went through and snipped specific locations in my sound track, then ran Fade on them; so there was no change for a "sliver".

Live streaming a single or multi-bitrate video over HTTP to Flash does not work. I have followed the instructions on the 2 sources listed above repeatedly, but I can’t get live streaming over HTTP to Flash to work. Live streaming to iOS over HTTP works with no problems (single and multi-bitrate streams).
I have tried the troubleshooting steps from the following:

Troubleshoot live streaming (HTTP)
1.      Services window (Windows): Flash Media Server (FMS), Flash Media Administration Server, and FMSHttpd services are running. ✓
2.      Verified that the request URL is correct. ✓
3.      Configured ports:
a.      Configure Apache to use port 80. Open rootinstall/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf in a text editor. Change the line Listen 8134 to Listen 80.
b.     Configure Flash Media Server not to use port 80. Open rootinstall/conf/fms.ini in a text editor. Remove 80 from the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT parameter so the parameter looks like the following: ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :1935 ✓
4.      Placed a crossdomain.xml file to the rootinstall/webroot directory. ✓
5.      In Flash Media Live Encoder, select the Encoding Options tab, choose Output from the Panel options menu, and verify the following:
a) The value of FMS URL is rtmp://fms-dns-or-ip/livepkgr. If you’re testing on the same server as Flash Media Server, you can use the value localhost for fms-dns-or-ip. ✓
b) For a single stream, the value of Stream is livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
c) For adaptive bitrate streaming, the value of Stream is livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
Flash Media Live Encoder uses this value to create unique stream names. To use another encoder, provide your own unique stream names, for example, livestream1?adbe-live-event=liveevent, livestream2?adbe-live-event=liveevent.
The encoder is showing all 3 streams being published and streaming.
6. Check Administration Console: the livepkgr application and the 3 streams are running. ✓
7. Check the logs for errors. Flash Media Server logs are located in the rootinstall/logs folder. The master.xx.log file and the core.xx.log file show startup failures. Apache logs are located in the rootinstall/Apache2.2/logs folder. X
a)   core00.log: these errors did not occur every time that I tried playing the live stream but these are the only relevant errors in the logs.

As I mentioned, everything works on iOS and FMS seems to be creating all of the stream segments and meta files:
a.     The 3 streams are being created in: HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_
b.    FMS is creating the following files in each stream folder (livestream1, livestream2, livestream 3):
1. livestream1.bootstrap
2. livestream1.control
3. livestream1.meta
4. .f4f segments
5. .f4x segments
The appropriate files are also being created in the HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\liveevent folder, in which I have the following Manifest.xml and Event.xml files:

We have an event in 2 weeks that we would like to stream to both Flash and iOS. Any help in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

One step closer:
Changed the crossdomain.xml file (more permissive settings).
Changed the encoding on FMLE to vp6. Working somewhat (don't know what I did to make it start streaming through hds).
But at least now I can get the individual streams in the set manifest file to work:

See the above post for more information - here's a synopsis:
CTRL+SHIFT modifiers are not working while running LabVIEW in a Parallels 7 virtual machine. This problem affects both LV2011 and LV2012. I'm not certain that this is a LabVIEW bug - could be an issue with my virtual machine environment or it's configuration - except that CTRL+SHIFT modifiers work in other applications on the affected VMs. It's just LabVIEW that appears to ignore shortcuts with the CTRL+SHIFT modifiers.
Any ideas?
