How do i get the ' make ' command to work?
This is probably an easy one for you guys...
I have tried to install a few apps and some of them require the make command. But this command doesnt work and i get make: not found in the terminal
I have read i need something called SunPRO make ??It looks like cc is trying to make a directory where you executed '/usr/ccs/bin/make', and it's failing. You don't need to 'run' the Makefile, make will see it and use it - which it has in this case. It could also be a app that needs to be installed as root. Are you root?
Also, better more usefull tools, are at www.sunfreeware.com. Download 'make' and 'gcc'. They will install to /usr/local/bin, so you will need to update your PATH, but things will complie with fewer problems. The local 'make' and 'cc' aren't really meant for anything other than Sun's patches.
temporarily changing your $PATH,
PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin ( you could put whatever you like, whatever makes sense for what you are doing ).
You may have also installed some freeware from Sun, check /usr/sfw/bin.

Who's Idea was to make the make Command-D duplicate not Deselect?
O my goodness who's Idea was to make the make Command-D duplicate not Deselect? Truly an aggravation for Mac Keyboard Shortcut lovers.
Especially if you have used Command-D a Mac with all other programs for years.
Is some one trying to make my Mac Crash?
How about a Keyboard shortcut and menu like photoshop CS2 option? It is already a feature request and a promise for the future to have the Bridge have both keyboard shortcuts customizable and to have the Bridge in general more customizable.

Hi there,
I hope anyone can solve my installation problem.
When running the installer to install Oracle 8.0.5 RDBMS the
installer reports on "O/S error"
Error during action 'creating rdms/lib/psoliblist'.
Command: make -f ins_rdbms.mkb
/oracle/oracle805/rdbms/lib/psoliblist
sh: make: command not found
I haven't been able to find an "make" command/file on my redhat

Is there on anyone else's redhat 6.0?
Thanx 4 any replies.
nullI had this same thought and had made sure the make-7.77-6 was
installed. I restarted linux (just incase) and attempted to
install oracle once again. I am installing Oracle 8051 EE on RH

recieve is listed below.
I continue to recieve the same error as OTN usere "truncate1".
Though i get a bit more text with the error this time around.

Error target not found base-level failed to install the packages
Im trying to install arch on my Virtualbox VM and its just returning:
error target not found base-level failed to install the packages to new root
What do I do? I have selected the right mirrors, pinging google, my own VPS's and a few other servers and they all pinged fine. Any ideas on whats up? Think my VPN's IP has been blocked and thats why I cant download anything? I have tried pacman -Ssy and it worked fine but still no.Please read the following and follow the advice included:

With that, be sure to clarify whether the typo was just here on the forum, or whether it was also in your original command. If it was in your original command, that would explain your results. -

As the user in question, when I browse \\san.f.q.d.n\share$\username, the BACKUP directory exists, but there are no sub directories.
I manually created the sub directories, USERNAME\USMT - so the full path now exists: \\san.f.q.d.n\share$\username\BACKUP\USERNAME\USMT
I re-ran USMT but the process returned the same error.
If I specify other shares not on san.f.q.d.n but on san1.f.q.d.n or server.f.q.d.n or even workstation.f.q.d.n, it works fine.
Can someone provide guidance on how to troubleshoot this further? In Windows, setting the Environmental Variable sometimes DOES NOT WORK.
The -Djava.io.tmpdir=C:\temp setting must be made in the server properties of the oc4j in order for it to work.

matthias isenburgHello,
This is a known problem in the meantime!!!
We use MS Word 2002 SP3! This Version ist too old! The Templates which the Solman want to use are now in MS Word 2003 (minimum)!
The solution is to upgrade MS Word!!!

OPatch encounters the following file roll-back issues: File Back-up Errors!
Operating System: Windows XP
Oracle Virsion: 9.2.0.8
Patches applied:
Oracle Patch: 5726045 - Successfully patched with zero return code.
Oracle Patch: 641703 - Failed with Error Code 200.
Scenario:
I have to apply CPUJAN2008 patch on 55 different servers located at different places in different states. Previously some other DBA had written a Windows NT Script for applying patch CPUOCT2007 on these
55 differnet servers which have the same instances, same filing system, same oracle version, same directories, same oracle_home, etc. In other words they are replicas to each other. For the purpose of
patching, the script is the best option. The Script for CPUOCT2007 was never went through, hence I am trying to test this CPUOCT2007 script and if tested allright, I will make certain amendmends to make it
ready for CPUJAN2008 patch.
Problem:
I tested the script for CPUOCT2007 patch and encountered the following problem:

I have checked all the Oracle Related services including Distributed Transaction Coordinator were stopped. In a summury the following services were stopped before the patched were applied.
1. OracleOra920Agent
2. OracleOra920TNSListener
3. OracleServiceMission
4. OracleServiceReposit
5. Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Here it shows as follows when I execute the command lsinventory:

Truly Yours,
blf2vkr -
this is the complete error I get. I just installed firefox so that I can use this feature and now it is useless.
Error Summary
HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found
The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map.
Detailed Error Information

Error Code 0x80070032
Requested URL http://www.refworks.com:80/refgrabit/install.xpi
Physical Path E:\RefGrabIt\install.xpi

Most likely causes:
It is possible that a handler mapping is missing. By default, the static file handler processes all content.
The feature you are trying to use may not be installed.
The appropriate MIME map is not enabled for the Web site or application. (Warning: Do not create a MIME map for content that users should not download, such as .ASPX pages or .config files.)
If ASP.NET is not installed.
Things you can try:
In system.webServer/handlers:
Ensure that the expected handler for the current page is mapped.
Pay extra attention to preconditions (for example, runtimeVersion, pipelineMode, bitness) and compare them to the settings for your application pool.
Pay extra attention to typographical errors in the expected handler line.
Please verify that the feature you are trying to use is installed.
Verify that the MIME map is enabled or add the MIME map for the Web site using the command-line tool appcmd.exe.
To set a MIME type, use the following syntax: %SystemRoot%\windows\system32\inetsrv\appcmd set config /section:staticContent /+[fileExtension='string',mimeType='string']
The variable fileExtension string is the file name extension and the variable mimeType string is the file type description.
For example, to add a MIME map for a file which has the extension ".xyz": appcmd set config /section:staticContent /+[fileExtension='.xyz',mimeType='text/plain']
Warning: Ensure that this MIME mapping is needed for your Web server before adding it to the list. Configuration files such as .CONFIG or dynamic scripting pages such as .ASP or .ASPX, should not be downloaded directly and should always be processed through a handler. Other files such as database files or those used to store configuration, like .XML or .MDF, are sometimes used to store configuration information. Determine if clients can download these file types before enabling them.
Install ASP.NET.

Links and More Information This error occurs when the file extension of the requested URL is for a MIME type that is not configured on the server. You can add a MIME type for the file extension for files that are not dynamic scripting pages, database, or configuration files. Process those file types using a handler. You should not allows direct downloads of dynamic scripting pages, database or configuration files.

Not found - The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.show was not found on this ser
I have a very simple anonymous block (see below) which I am using to test an area of the database I am developing using OE and APEX. Sometimes the block works and other times it fails with the following error message------
Not found - The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.show was not found on this server
Before the error message is displayed a pop-up window appears with a submit button ( the heading on the window contains --- Enter Bind Variables - windows internet explorer), which I do not understand.
Is the problem I am experiencing due to some memory limitation ? or do I have a corrupt oracle system (everything else appears OK though).
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Best Regards
Lawrence Cattell
Here is the anonymous block (please no comments on the code). If I extend the number of DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINES beyond the current number of 3 it fails everytime, sometimes it works with 3, sometimes it fails. Is it related to the number of variables I am binding to the WSI_QUOTE Type ?

The "Enter Bind Variables" dialog box is coming from something undefined, I'd suggest putting that block into an .sql file and run it via sqlplus.
To demonstrate how a bind variable is handled try setting up a file with:
select * from sometablename where somecolname = &somekeyval;
-- or '&somekeyval' if its varchar2When you connect with sqlplus and run that file it will prompt for the value to use for "somekeyval".
Only other thing is to ensure the "select * ..." has the same column names and in the same order as expected by the fetch, perhaps the table layout has changed and you could be getting an added column or maybe missing one at the end of the list.
If you try running that block in a sqlplus session enable serveroutput to see the dbms_out result (set serveroutput on size 50000) -
How to pass multiple words as a search argument on the Acrobat Command Line?
I am trying to launch Acrobat using a multi-word search parameter on a Windows XP box. However, Acrobat is stripping the spaces between words. For example, I am trying to load Acrobat and have it search for the phrase "vision changes" using a Command Line like this:
C:\>"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /A search="vision changes" c:\temp\theDocument.pdf
When Acrobat loads, it shows the search panel with the phrase "visionchanges" in it. The space between the two words is gone and naturally it can't find the phrase.
I have read both the PDF Command Line parameter documents I could find. This format works fine for URLs, but for Shelling Acrobat on the local system, it doesn't work because of the space stripping problem. I have tried lots of different variants of quote characters, escape characters, even HTML characters like "&nbps;", but nothing works.
Does anyone have an answer?
For the curious here are links to the two PDF documents I found that cover the command line arguments:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/PDFOpenParameters.pdf
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/pdf_open_parameters.pdf
Thanks,
RobertHey Robert,
Did you note that in the "pdf_open_parameters.pdf" document, it says that the value of the Search parameter is treated as a list of (single) words, not as a string of words (phrase)?
It says it explicitly: "You can search only for single words. You cannot search for a string of words."
PS: I'm replying to your query as a sort of thank you for posting the links to those documents. It helped me to find the way of conditioning how to open a pdf. -

Can i get access to the find command in Word via activeX?
Does anyone know if it is possible to search through a word document using activeX commands from labview? Basically i need to use the "find" command from Word.
Thanks for your helpExcellent thanks a lot.
I've now got the search function working but im having a little trouble getting the results i want. What do you mean by "new selection"? is this the output refnum from the execute node?
Im looking to search through a word document for a certain paragraph number then highlight this paragraph in some way.
At present i have used your method to find the section number and then used a frame property on the output refnum followed by select method cascaded from this. This has the effect of selecting the number causing the word window to jump to the desired point but only the first line of the paragraph is shown because it places the found text at the bottom of the screen.
Do you have any suggestions as to how i could select the en
tire paragraph? I also cannot get any output from the select method in this way, am i using it incorrectly?
Thanks again for your time

If you have no issues with the application you can ignore those messages.
Thanks,
Hussein
