Opatch lsinventory

Hi Friends,
I am really new to oracle and unix.
Can you please help me find out OC4J and BPEL Versions with help of opatch lsinventory command?
where(which directory) i need to execute it and how(exact command)?
Oracle Home directory : /dboracle/orabase/product/1013/eippal
Thanks in advance.

My question is: Can't you just look it up in the online documentation?
No, I can not provide the link, as you didn't bother to include your 4-digit Oracle version, as you always should.

Look at the error message.  bash (the shell processor) is telling you it couldn't find an executable named 'opatch'.  And why couldn't he?  Because, unlike Windblows., *nix doesn't by default search the current directory to find executables.  He searches only the directories listed in the path, or else you have to tell it explicitly where to find the referenced executable.
YOu could do any of the following:
    ./opatch lisinventory
(telling bash to look in the current directory .. that's what the  'dot' does
    or
    /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/OPatch/opatch lsinventory
(telling bash the full path to the executable)
    or
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch:$PATH
    opatch lsinventory
(adding the directory containing the executable to the PATH.
    opatch lsinventory -details
    bash: opatch: command not found
If bash couldn't find opatch, he can't find opatch, regardless of what command line parms you may be asking it to pass to opatch if he did find it.

  • Opatch lsinventory does not work

    Oracle 9.2.0.8
We just applied JanCPU patch on this box. When I try to do
    opatch lsinventory it gives
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/transform/S

    Thank you

You need a global what will direct you to the OPatch directory/file system or be sitting at that location and issue the command to get your results

  • Opatch lsinventory    information

    hello experts ,
    database version is 10.2.0.3
    os platform solaris 10
i wan to check whether any patches is applied in my database for that I am using the path and command is :
    "/var/opt/oracle/oratab/etc/oratab opatch lsinventory -all "
I am able to enter upto "/var/opt/oracle" after this when I am going further like "cd oratab" its showing oratab is not a directory ...
can anybody guide me what is the right way to check the patching information in database ??
    thanks

But do You have such directory OPatch at all?
    And what returns
    echo $ORACLE_HOME
it can be that Your oracle_home is not set and as a result $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch is returning no such directory
If under $ORACLE_HOME there is no such directory OPatch, then please read metalink note 242993.1 - it will explain where to get it.

As with all Oracle products Opatch probably has changed over time.
It was introduced in 9.2.0.6 You report 9.2.0 which is an invalid, non-existing version number.
As far as I remember Opatch simply doesn't work for older 9.2 versions.
Also it is quite likely initially it wasn't possible to specify the inventory location on the commandline.
Without further info from your side, it simply looks like you are running an incorrect version of opatch against an incorrect version of the database. It is not surprising this results in exceptions, and those can also not be addressed.
Please make sure you are running correct software.
If you think this analysis is in error make sure you post complete and correct version info upfront.

We had a look at few documents in Metalink, and the wide suggestion was to download the latest version of Opatch; but we couldn't see how Opatch will work on one box and not the other when using the same installation files on 2 similar specs machines.
    Thanks

I just right click on the do prompt and "run as administrator", I set the oracle home, then tried opatch and it did work:

    Ex: d :/> oracle/ora92/opatch>set ORACLE_HOME=d: \oracle\ora92
Step 4: issue the following command
    D :/> oracle/ora92/opatch>opatch lsinventory –all
This will display all oracle homes installed in a server.
    2. How to find the information of the applied patch in an oracle Software?
Follow the above steps from 1 to 3.
Step 4: issue the following command.
    D :/> oracle/ora92/opatch>opatch lsinventory –detail
This will display all the applied patches with respective to all components and also the date when patches is applied.
These two scenarios are common for Both UNIX and Windows environment.

    Anu

    Hello Anu,
this information comes from the "Global Inventory".
    Metalinknote #360079.1 describes this:
    Global Inventory
The Global Inventory is the part of the XML inventory that contains the high level list of all oracle products installed on a machine. There should therefore be only one per machine. Its location is defined by the content of oraInst.loc.
The Global Inventory records the physical location of Oracle products installed on the machine, such as ORACLE_HOMES (RDBMS and IAS) or JRE. It does not have any information about the detail of patches applied to each ORACLE_HOMEs.
The Global Inventory gets updated every time you install or de-install an ORACLE_HOME on the machine, be it through OUI Installer, Rapid Install, or Rapid Clone.
Note: If you need to delete an ORACLE_HOME, you should always do it through the OUI de-installer in order to keep the Global Inventory synchronized.

    Stefan

  • Opatch lsinventory output

    Hi,
    opatch lsinventory:
    Patch  7522909      : applied on Mon Feb 09 09:41:52 CET 2009
       Created on 11 Nov 2008, 05:04:27 hrs PST8PDT
       Bugs fixed:
         7522909, 7462072, 7191744, 6904068, 7515828
This means that fix 7522909, 7462072, 7191744, 6904068 and 7515828 are applied. Is it OK?
    Regards.
    Ganimede Dignan.

    Hello Ganimede,
yes the fixes for the bugs 7522909, 7462072, 7191744, 6904068 and 7515828 are applied.
The patch 7522909 is a merge fix and contains other patches.
If you want to know what a merge patch or any other patch is .. so please read the glossary of sapnote #839187
    Merge patch (UNIX)
This is a patch that consists of several individual patches and groups these under one patch ID.
A merge patch is required if the corrections contained in individual patches cause a patch conflict and, therefore, you cannot apply the patches individually.
You can apply a merge patch only completely or (if a conflict arises) not at all (also see N-Apply-Patch).
You must use the "apply" option in OPatch (opatch apply) to apply this.
    Regards
    Stefan

But when i query olsnodes -s -t,I get just:

    kusnwk02        Active  Pinned
Kindly let me know how opatch from where is opatch fetching this data and hwo to remove "kusnwd0u/kusnwd0v" from the details

    hello,
can you please check central inventory xml file which is usually as below and look at node list?
    oraInventory/ContentsXML/inventory.xml
you can also check at below location for local inventory file
    $Oracle_home/inventory/ContentsXML/oraclehomeproperties.xml
just run all the crsctl and srvctl commands to make sure nothing is part of those nodes in cluster.. My guess is that these nodes might have been removed from cluster but not updated and done correctly
