Opatch process executes automatically every hour

hi,
I installed OCS10g,and patched to the last release.But it seems that opatch process executes automatically every hour,this cause a lot of files like LsInventory--xxxx.log in /OracleHome/.patch_storage folder. This always make my disk full.
How can I stop the process?

This is something funny. OPatch is not a deamon process. I think somewhere some cron job is set to execute OPatch every hour.
If you cannot find the problem, then the best fix is to rename the directory OPatch under Oracle Home to something else.

You installed the ReloadEvery Extension rather and not downloaded it to disk.
To set the reload time for the tab you are viewing you can right-click the page and select a time.

Automatically backing up single folder every hour on an external HD

Is there a way to back up one folder automatically to a hard drive the way Time Machine backs up an entire hard drive? I have a 20 Gig external that I would like to back up a single folder's data files automatically every hour.

Do you mean independently of Time Machine or do you mean also with TM? If the latter then simply exlude everything on the second drive except the one folder.

T60p resuming every hour

Hi everybody,
I have bought recently a new T60p and there is one really strange problem with it. When I put it in hibernation/suspend it (in ~50% of situations) resumes automatically every hour (really precisely every hour). Then it goes back in the hibernation/suspension as it was before. And after one hour again. First I thought that it must be some hardware problem but when I discovered (according to event log) the precise period I went through some Google stuff and started to believe that maybe there is a resumable timer used by some application in windows. Or maybe it is some BIOS problem. As I've said it does not happen everytime the laptop is in hibernation. Also, it seems that it does not happen when the AC is not plugged in (there is a setting in BIOS disabling wake up events when running on battery so I think that this is really some software problem).
Have you ever come over such problem? I am runnning Windows XP SP2 with all the latest fixes, Lenovo drivers and applications. It is not so bad problem because I can unplug the AC adapter and it should be ok but when I want to charge my battery overnight its quite a bit annoying and also surely not good for the laptop to restart every hour.

Thanks for your answer. Yes, that was the first thing - I checked and disabled Wake-on-LAN and similar settings. It didn't solve it. I've been using the same antivirus SW for several years and nothing like this happened (well, maybe my older hardware didnot support this kind of wake-up) anyway it's hard to tell what's causing it.

Automatically run an app every hour?

I need to automatically run an app every hour.
I have a Time Capsule that I am getting rid of because the new UVerse fiber optic internet box does the same router functions but not the back up functions. So I want to make my external drive work like a Time Capsule. That is to mount when needed and unmount when not needed. To that end I have written an application using Applescript/Automator that does exactly that. Mounts the drive, runs the backup and unmounts the drive afterward. Now I am having a hard time finding a way to schedule it to run every hour. Most scheduler apps will only run once a day and Cronnix no longer seems to work or I can't make it work.
Any thoughts?

You really should use launchd. Lingon is a good tool, give it another look.
I created the following plist with Lingon.

There are a few ways to do this: first of all you could write a script file and schedule it to run every night.
Another solution is to use the DBMS_JOB package. Refer to the documentation to see how it is used

I've recently experience aproblem with my phone automatically connect to the internet every hour. therefore i set the connection mode to always ask but the mode pops up asking me to connect to the internet every hour. This kinda irritating. I've tried to reformat the phone using the *#7370# but problem still occured.

Ya, i logged in the facebook and ovi mail using wifi connection. all the while nothing happened , only yesterday after i went to one link site from google and downloaded a movie clips and it happened. i tried to find anomyous file instaled in file manager and tried to delete it but doesn;t do solve the problem.
I suspect must be caused from the movie clip i download but i already deleted the file.... right after i see it.

Automatic BTCI every Hour

I have a peculiar issue, where a BTCI session triggeres every hour & it tries to process a very old contract for saler order creation. I'm not able to track the trigger point for the BTCI creation (every hour), this has been happening from the past 1 and half year.
In the test system I've managed to trigger the BTCI session by running a Z-transaction. However in the production system there is no condition that satisfies the Z-transacion execution but still a BTCI triggers every hour. At the end of the day all the concerned session get processed however there is one from 2009 that always remains in error.
I would be thankful if someone can help me on this.

Try to run your Z-report in job Transaction SM36 for creation or SM37 for view.
You can add a step to run you report every hour.

My firefox stops responding and fades for about a half min almost every hour, OR MORE often.
I am typing a message or information, the screen fades to about half bright. the curser freezes in place and no key responds.
The information bar at the top of the page says "firefox not responding" in about 30 seconds it restores and continues as tho nothing happens.

I might have discovered the solution without starting over with all your places and bookmarks.
Right after i installed 7.0.1 over a week ago,every 10-30 min When i would be watching videos online, it would freeze for 20-30 seconds. Firefox would say ( Not responding) both firefox and the plugin container process would be very large memory files. I tried to go back to Firefox 5.0. No avail it would still freeze.I tried to disable the plugin container . no good. I tried to adjust memory or cache or plugin settings in “about:config”.Nothing fixed it!
I finally discovered why my Firefox 7.01 was periodic hanging fix. It is something to do with some of your personal files. download this this add on and install it

After you install the add on, restart Firefox.go to "tools", then "add ons" and then click “extensions” tab ,then click' options" on the "places maintenance" entry. choose "ALL' or just "expire" and hit "execute", then wait until its done., restart Firefox. should be fine then and all my bookmarks, customizations ,settings, and history stays untouched!
After i did this my Firefox did not freeze once for over 3 days straight. Might not work for everyone. I already read that Mozilla is aware of the problem and are working on a fix it in the full version of 8( the 8 beta did not fix the problem for me) . But they said this is a good temporary fix at least,( might be permanent)
For me at least ,Firefox works fine in 7 now. perfect actually.And many people i saw on similar forums had similar problems.

In our process we would like to read the Oracle staging table and start the instance(s). We want this to happen every hour or so automatically.
We looked into documentation for starting the instances. Looks like there are only two ways, one is through global creation activity, we don?t want to use this approach since it is manual trigger, the second one is API initiate. I couldn't find any documentation on this approch. Some one please point me to right document or suggest me better approach.

You can use Global Automatic activities. This kind of activities
tipically run when a time is timeframe is reached (for example, every
hour) or you can make them to be trigger by some event, like a JMS Message.

How can I get Automator to run every hour

Hello,
I want to run a Unix Shell executable every hour (measuring network bandwidth), but automator only seems to be able to go down to once a day. Is there anyway of getting automator to run the executable every hour?

If you already have the shell script then skip Automator and use launchd(8) to run the script on what ever schedule you'd like.
There are many good tutorials and examples of using launchd see Creating Launch Daemons and Agents - Apple Developer and Mac OS X launchd examples for a start.
Also see http://launched.zerowidth.com/ as one way to automate making the plist file.

At first, the program uses a BGD process in the application server specified in "target computer", but it seems to submit tasks to UPD process in all application servers. As a result, all UPD processes are occupied, and other tasks become unprocessed.
Additional info: in our environment, end users usually logon through logon group over four application servers. Do you think we can solve this problem by asking end users to logon to the specific application server?
Otherwise, I assume there will be two approaches for this problem.
One is to execute automatic payment carefully in order to avoid long time occupation of the UPD processes, even if we can not stop UPD processes being occupied for some time. Currently in our system, UPD processes are occupied for long time (e.g. 1 hour) Another approach is to regulate the usage of UPD as I wrote above. It's approach from the Basis system administration.
Any comment will be very appreciated.

Jobs occurring every hour

Hi Guru's,
I am an ETL Resource and monitoring the process chains every day.
we have Master Chains in it i got Delta Master chain.
We got hourly jobs in to BW system that will continue only for 10 days (Starts every month begining with ALEREMOTE) and get stops automatically.
in this month it has not stopped and still the jobs are occurring every hour.
How can i stop this jobs?
Step 001 started (program RSPROCESS, variant &0000000418925, user ID ALEREMOTE).
Can any one help me on this issue.

But i am unable to veiw the schedule jobs. i have checked in SM37 by checking the Schedule option. but unable to find out the solution.
because these jobs are aleremote coming from source system.
but when we check in the source system the jobs were not occurring in that.
Is there any possible way to trace out who created the job with in BW for hourly and i have to stop that one.

Mac creates a save every hour, quickly filling the external drive. The "delete unnecessary files in Trash" does not work.

I try to delete unnecessary files to free up space.
Trash on the Mac has become very slow, the removal process was take hours.
Then the process of removing all stops.
Why files are not removed through the trash?
What could be causing the removal process?

TimeMachine is designed to back up every hour. It saves only the files that have changed during the hour. After 24 hours TimeMachine culls the (up to) 24 backups to make a single backup for the day. After 30 days it takes the 7 oldest day backups and culls them into a single week backup.
You should never manually touch files in the TimeMachine backup. It doesn't like that. The best practice for TimeMachine is to devote an external drive to TimeMachine and nothing else. Because TM backups are incremental, it is recommended that your TM hard drive be 2-4 times larger than the amount of drive space your computer is using. In other words, if your 1TB hard drive is 1/4 full (250GB in use) you should have a TM drive between 500GB and 1TB depending on how much more data you expect to add to your drive and how long you wish to keep old back files.
Having said all this, you might prefer using some other program for backups. CarbonCopyCloner and ChronoSync are two programs you might want to look at.
