OPATCH utilty for rel 10.1.0.5  patch????

Hello All,
I have applied interim patches through OPATCH.
I used OPatch utility to install CPU patch.
For my other system (AIX 5.2)
I wanted to apply release 10.1.0.5 patch.
Can I use optach utilty for 10.1.0.5 patch?
OR we use OPTACH utility for only interim patches?
Please confirm.
DN

DN,
10.1.0.5 is not a patch but patchset, you install it like a new version but in existing ORACLE_HOME, you don't need opatch utility.
Nicolas.

    libimta.so 5.2 Patch 2 (built 19:30:12, Jul 14 2004)
I heard that SUN have released security vulnerability in Sun Java System or iPlanet Messaging Servers that may allow remote unprivileged users to craft specific messages which contain Javascript to be executed in the end user's browser.
The problem can be solved by using iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 (for Solaris 8 and 9) with patch 5.2hf2.13 or later..
where can I download patch 5.2hf2.13 for messaging server 5.2 ?

    Hi,
If you have a support contract with SUN you can log a service request to get a copy of the patch via:

  • OPatch Automation for GI

we are having 11.2.0.2 RAC Database on 3 node cluster. OS : RHEL 5.6
when OPatch auto is used to apply patch do we need to stop all the instances on the node and the cluster or auto command will automatically stop and start all the processes running from ORACLE_HOME

opatch auto will take care, please refer:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/e15294/options.htm
    auto Command
Ordinarily, a Clusterware patch requires several manual steps before and after you apply the patch, such as:
    Stopping all dependent databases
    Stopping Clusterware resources
    Running pre-patch scripts
    Shutting down Clusterware
    Running post-patch scripts
    Starting Clusterware and dependent databases
The opatch auto command automates all of these tasks for patching the CRS home and all other applicable RDBMS homes.

  • Opatch auto for GI

I am applying GI PSU 11.2.0.2.7. On RHEL 5.6 x86-64
I am using opatch auto. Applying for both GI and DB home.
The output is showing apply successful for db home and then it stopped, when i look the auto log file the last entries are cluster has been stopped. Its been for a while the log last entries are the same. Normally after this it should patch GI home
1)what do i need to understand from this?? it is almost like 1hr:30 mins the opatch auto has started. The opatch is hanging or is still running?
    2) how long does usually opatch auto takes to complete??

I found this last night. Don't know if it applys to you.

Versions 1.25 (for BIOS ID 6Zxxxxxx-based computer)
1.20 (for BIOS ID 6Yxxxxxx-based computer)
    und
Versions 1.15 (for Machine types: 0217 and 0250)
    1.17 (for Machine type: 0221)

  • OPatch failed with error code 74 while apply patch 10093985 - 10352313

    Hello,
In OBIEE 11g, we had a problem that the map only appear if the language selected is English. To fix this error we need to install de pach "10352313" who fix the bug "10093985". I make all the steps that are in the manual. Download the last OPatch, install and configured. All the prerequisites are ok. When I went to the folder of the patch to run the comand "opatch apply -jre $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre" I had this error:
    $ opatch apply -jre $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre

I saw that the Platform ID needed is : 46 but the Platform IDs supported by patch are: 226. But this patch is for linux x86-64, and I didn't understand why it doesn't work. The machine is a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 3050 @ 2.13GHz. Can anyone give a hand? Thanks for the help.

    Hi Experts
We have customer who has 10.1.3 license and they are on 10.1.3.5.0 patchset. We are helping them with some implementation .

    3. Does oracle helps to support a customer with the critical bug fix
    4. Does Oracle help to Processor Perpetual license by providing a bugfix or patch fixes

Hi , I am facing the same issue.
were you able to resolve it.
please let me know if you were.
    Many Thanks.

  • Staff: Why is there no offline installer for 10.1.5? The patch doesn't work for me.

Hi, I'm trying to update Adobe Reader 10.1.4 on a 32-bit Windows XP SP3 computer to Adobe Reader 10.1.5. The Adobe Reader Updater downloaded the update but it tells me:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
    It's looking for AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\ARM\Reader_10.0.1\ but it can't find it.
Normally in a situation like this I could just download the offline installer, and as an enterprise user I want to do that anyway. Yet it appears there's no offline installers in ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.5/ like for example AdbeRdr1015_en_US.exe or AdbeRdr1015_en_US.msi. On Adobe's pages for both enterprise and home users it only offers 10.1.4 as the older version prior to 11, not 10.1.5 as one would expect.
What's going on with this? Am I the only one who's noticed either of these things? I suppose on that one computer I'll have to download AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi and place it in that directory where the patch is looking for it.
    Thanks for any help
edit: link to enterprise patch notes: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotes/10/10.1.5.html
edit: here's a screenshot of the error: http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/7294/capturessl.png

    Howdy,
I'm not sure what you mean by an offline installer, but the available updates, the admin guide, and the release notes are all correct. 10.1.5 is an update (MSP). It is not a full installer. As stated in the doc, full installers are not always provided. Also, full installers or updates don't have any online dependency.
You can install 10.1.5 over that last relevant msi/exe. That's 10.1.4 for some languages but usually 10.1.
Alternatively, you can get a non-enterprise installer from the Reader Download Center. You can probably expand the exe to get to an MSI. That's an atypical route most enterprise admins have not found a need to travel.
10.1.6 will also only be an MSP update.
    hth,
    Ben
