Opel UHP phonebook sync

Hi All,
I have a problem with my iPhone in combination with the Opel UHP carkit.
Some details first: Firmware iPhone: 3.0.1 Firmware UHP: latest (updated today by dealer)
The will work together but my phonebook will not sync at all.
Sometimes the recently called list shows but never the phonebooklist.
I have like 150 contacts on my iPhone, but on my HTC S740 I have 70 sim contacts and is synced with my outlook-contactlist and this one does it fine.
Is there a way to get this working or can there be made an update to solve this problem for the iPhone?
Because I've seen more with the same problem!
Please let me know!

Hi gerdt
You might like to look at this thread as 5230 pretty similar to 5800XM as far as Bluetooth profiles are concerned: /t5/Accessories-Car-Phones-and-Other/Problems-with-bluetooth-sync-Nokia-5800-with-bluetooth-car-Audi...
Is Remote SIM mode "On" or "Off"?

  • 8520 phonebook sync error

After today's sync with MS Outlook, contacts in 8520 were messed up. Instead of number, Work: field got overwritten with each contact's name. On contrary, Outlook contacts were fine.
I was not able to fix this situation by anoter sync. Tried deleting all contacts, another syncing - same story.
Then I edited all entries, typing numbers back into BB. Anoter sync, both phonebooks are fine.
There's only two issues left: Instead of contact's name, Work phone number is shown in calendar on person's birthday. Second one is more frustrating, for unknown reason, some appointments evaporated from calendar miraculously.
    BB is 8520 Curve v4.6.1.314, Outlook 2007
    Any advices?

I still experience same problem with Work Number field being overwritten with contact's name.
When I add contact in BB and make sync with Outlook, all is fine. On contrary, when contact is added in Outlook first, then problem appears just on BB.
Temporary workaround is to type Work number again, which is annoying. This situation is puzzling, as next sync does not mess up number field.

  • 6300 phonebook sync with JVC KD-BT11 ?

Im have problems sync'ing a 6300 phone book with a JVC KD-BT11 head unit.
I follow all the instructions in booth manuals, It asks me to put the head unit into a recieve mode, but this disconnects the bluetooth connection. I then follow the phone manual and set up a new data transfer client and it finds the device but when i try to transfer it comes up "blue tooth connection failure".
Every other feature of the system works just not the sync.
OPP Bt profile is supported by JVC KD-BT11, but what about Nokia 6300?

    hi all
i ve been using the nokia 5800 earlier and now using the nokia c7. the proble described here regarding connection with jvc kdbt11 seems to be an inherrent compatibility issue between nokia and jvc as i have faced the same problem with both the handsets. may be it is the OS as i dont have this problem with phone running on android  or samsung bada os softwares.
if any one knows any way to  set things right please update.
    thanks

  • E65 and BMW Bluetooth

    Hi Guys
Am looking to get the Nokia E65 but want to check it pairs with my cars bluetooth system. (BMW 330ci 2004) Anyone tried this combo ? Do contacts synch also ?
    Cheers

    Folks,
I managed to pair and connect the E61i to a 2007 BMW E92 325 Coupe. The basic phone functions in dialing and receiving calls worked flawlessly the first time, with the caller IDs showing clearly on the iDrive Communications display.
As for the phonebook sync, I did encounter difficulties in getting the phonebook downloaded to the iDrive using the built-in PC suite application found on the phone. I subsequently had to disable the PC Suite by removing contacts from the sync profile. To get the phonebook uploaded to the iDrive, I had to use a Nokia application meant for another Nokia car phone device called N810. Here's the link for the application:
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4164022?url=http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/software/Nokia_810_Contacts_Sync.sisx
You MUST unpair any previous bluetooth connections you may have already set in the iDrive for this to work. Delete all traces of your phone on the iDrive and remove all traces of your car ( should be named BMW xxxxx ). Install the N810 application on your phone and make sure it is running before attempting to pair you phone to the car again.
Follow the usual Bluetooth pairing procedure to pair up with your iDrive and be patient when you see "Please wait..." on your iDrive. Depending on the volume of contacts on your phone, it will take a number of minutes to upload the contacts initially. Once done, you should see your complete phonebook and be able to match caller id to your phonebook as well. If you have contacts with multiple phone numbers, they will show in parentheses. For example, John (M) and John (W) indicating John's Mobile and John's work number respectively.
    Good luck,
    Andre

  • Does E71 (RM-346) support PBAP? If yes, with which...

    Dear Friends,
i've carefully searched the Nokia Discussion forums for the above question, and so far there's no authoritative response. One lucky Nokia E71 owner was able to get phonebook synchronization with his (Audi?), but in many other cases the results were unsuccessful.
The device specs on Nokia Forum also do not list PBAP as a supported profile of the E71
I have an E71 (RM-346), with firmware 400.21.013. In all my tests thus far with my Nissan QQ 2010 head unit (Daewoo AGC-0070RF), i was able only once to successfully transfer the phonebook to the head unit (extremely fast). Despite my many attempts, even by unpairing/pairing, i never managed to get the (phonebook transfer) to work.
I also tested with my company C7-00, which officially supports PBAP. It's working fine with the QQ head unit, and phonebook transfer happens extremely fast, every time the handset and the head-unit establish the (authorized) BT connection.
So, i'm desperately looking for an authoritative response here - does the E71 (RM-346) support PBAP, and if yes - with which firmware version?
    Thank you all...
    Paris

@ aspergerguy: Thank you very much for your fast response.
I had checked this thread in detail, and unfortunately it does not provide a conclusive answer. It is one of the few answers stating that E71 works with Audi cars - albeit using HSP, whereas other threads are negative on E71 working with BMW/Volvos, and are also negative about the availability of PBAP on the E71.
In my successful experiment, which - again - only worked once and managed to sync my Phonebook's 522 contacts to the Nissan Head Unit in a few seconds, was based on the following setup:
    - PC Suite Sync (profile) installed on the E71 device, and successfuly sync'ing all my data to my Windows 7 x64 system using PC Suite 7 on the laptop. Connection = Bluetooth
    - Sync profile on the E71 configured to allow server-initiated sync requests (in our case here, server = car Head Unit), and configured to always accept the sync requests without a prompt.
    - most probably the sync was successful, due to the Head Unit software managing to pull the data from the PC Suite-based sync profile over Bluetooth. In other words, that was probably a lucky shot for me.
All subsequent efforts with this setup were unsuccessful - you can see the sync starting on the E71 device once BT conn is established by the car head unit, but the sync is canceled right away.
So, let's see if we can get an authoritative answer on the PBAP availability on the E71 (and specific firmware for that), as it appears that Nokia handsets that do have this profile, work fine with phonebook sync to the car head unit...
    Thanks again.

My iphone 5c is ios 8.1 as of 2 days ago. I can no longer download my phonebook to MYTOUCH SYNC in my car. There was no problem before the software update.

A new Outlook Identity will most likely solve your issues. If you have any data under "On My Computer" folders, see this link:
How to move your data to a new Identity
BTW, how much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities to find this info. You need a minimum of 10% free but 15-20% is recommended.
Outlook gets very sluggish when you are low on disk space. If you have a bunch of older Identities from previous rebuilds you can delete these to help free up space.

Ovi for Mac has been rumored for more than a year. I dont know if it's Apple delaying Nokia developers from moving forward or if it's Nokia not being able to collaborate effectively with Apple but something doesn't feel right about the Ovi for Mac announcements and factual results.
Ovi Suite for Mac has been promised for more than a year and it would be safe to assume that it is not coming. Apple has supplied the API's that Nokia needs but to date, Nokia has not produced the (not required in my opinion) solution. I currently use: Nokia Multi-media Transfer, and iSync to move data between my phones. The foot print is smaller than a Ovi Suite would most likely be and some of the required apps: iSync, BT, are native to the Mac and would have less problems. Between iSync, and NMT, I have no problems at all with getting my data where it needs to be.
If you need help setting this up, ask, and others here will come to your rescue.

  • BT not syncing with my voice commands on my MKZ, I can physically use the phonebook?

BT stopped syncing with my phonebook in my car. Command says that it doesn't recognize the number in the phonebook, but they are there.  I can physically use the touchpad and make the calls..what's up with that.  Working real well before.

I have to say that is a completely stupid thing Apple has done - they have solved a problem that didn't exist.
I plug my iPhone into my laptop and - bam - everything is synced.  No fuss, no muss.  To force everyone to (1) use iCloud or (2) use another syncing service is inefficient and pointless - not exactly the Apple way which I thought was the whole point of Apple's/Jobs' vision. Perhaps Apple is competing with Google to try to get as much information about us as possible?
Just called Apple at 1.800.694.7466 and they told me the issue isn't with Mavericks per se but with iTunes 11.1.5.
According the helpful woman I spoke to, no one at Apple knows why Apple decided to remove the ability to sync everything via USB.  She hears complaints about the change and knows it makes life difficult for folks.
She also recommended contacting www.apple.com/feedback about the change.  She says Apple does in fact have a group of people who do read the comments.

  • Ford Sync Phonebook

  • Phonebook, Backup Assistant and Verizon Cloud always out of sync

I have a very strange problem regarding syncing. Basically, the contacts in my phonebook on my Droid Razr HD, are never in sync with Backup Assistant Plus and the Cloud. My understanding was that if I edit, add or delete a phonebook entry, it would be backed up and kept in sync with Verizon Cloud, which I subscribe to. But that never happens. Entries are in the Cloud, but never in sync with my phonebook. And when I click on a contact in the Cloud, it is always empty. It is though all 3 entities are stand alone products which remain out of communication and out of sync with each other.
Backups take place at schedule intervals, and rarely fail. Yet nothing seems to happen. Reading other posts about the issues people have with syncing, it is clear to me that sync is the problem child of Verizon, and few if any CSRs seem to understand it. If you talk to 5 CSRs, you will get 5 different explanations of how it is supposed to work, and the customer is caught in the middle. I've tried all the usual steps, including Sync All, Sync Now,
In People-->Settings-->Contact Storage-->Contact Storage Accont, the only options available are Backup Assistant Plus (which I've selected) and Google (unselected). Cloud is not even an option and seems to work in a standalone mode. I don't even know why BAP is offered, when Cloud is being used. I thought Cloud was the replacement for BAP? The whole thing is a bit of a mess, honestly, and needs to be re-engineered from top to bottom. In the meantime, would anyone know how I can get these products to work as they should?

    Ann154 is correct, use gMail.
The Verizon cloud is not acceptable or functional.    I went through the set up with Verizon and was not able to get backup assist and cloud to do it's job.
I just switched carrier, and from Android, to iPhone, back to android.   The only way to get it all together was to use gmail (which I did not have, but opened free, just for this purpose.)

  • Sync not copying all Phonebook entries

    Hi, my current configuration is:
    Windows Vista
    PC Suite 6.84.10.3
    Cable Connection
    Nokia 9500
I tried to sync my contacts info with Vista contacts, but it only copied 59 contacts into Vista. My phone has over 300 contacts.
I restarted the communicator and tried to sync again, but no new contacts were updated to the Vista contacts.

YOu have to force slow sync (slow sync means same as "first time ever sync between 2 devices") because then everything will be read from both devices and synchronised.
Also always use sync on both directions.
Connect phone to PC, open PC Sync, select Settings - Create new settings - run through the wizard of selections to force slow sync.

    It possible, with Socially app.
    Hi nealbajaj,
Furthering on from farlac post, you have to make sure the contacts have the same names on your contact list and facebook.

  • Xperia with Facebook won't sync contacts (no HD pictures in phonebook)

This worked fine on Z1 and in sync options under xperia with facebook there are two options calendar and contacts...
on Z3 there is only calendar sync no contacts...anyone having the same?

Xperia with Facebook is in the process of being phased out and some functionality have already been removed in new products and firmware updates. Therefore is the exact functionality scoop dependent on device and firmware. Right now we are only delivering Album, Calendar and TextInput functionality.
The information i got is that this is becuse of changes from Facebook but older devices/firmwares may still work.
