How can I Open a 3gp file to edit with final cut pro.
You need to convert it to an editable format. Try MPEG streamclip.

Opening 3gp files sent from blackberry to blackberry.
First off, I'm new to the board, so HI ALL. But this question is the reason why I joined. Seems like the knowledge is out there I just need to ask.
I just upgrade my curve 8310 as well as my wife's to OS 4.5. I love it. I love shooting videos with it as well. Here is my problem. I can attach a video to my att blackberry email, my gmail, or try to send MMS and everything is fine. Now when my wife gets it on her phone, and clicks to open the file, all it says is "your device is not compatible with this type of file" (*or something close to that).
How do I get this to work? I would like not to route my vids through a third party and then to my wife. I want to be able to send to her (and other bb owners) and them be able to view it.
Wht gives? How can both of our phones take the same type of video file type, but neither one of our phones play the video when sent?
Any help would be appreciated.First off, I'm new to the board, so HI ALL. But this question is the reason why I joined. Seems like the knowledge is out there I just need to ask.

In what file type and compression format did you download the YouTube content? I.e., to avoid such issues, you would normally download the source files as content that is natively compatible with your target player or convert incompatible file type/compression format combinations to files that are compatible with your targeted media player. -

My mistake, sorry.
Tech specs show the music player is compatible with MP4 H.264, but not video.
Oh, one thing mate: I think MP4 (H.264 ) Audio is better than MP3?
Then, at what bitrate? I mean what is the min. bitrate to get the max. quality??? -
I installed elements 12 on a Win 8.1 computer and moved all my photos from my old XP machine. I updated to elements 12.1. Now, many/most of my photos will not open because I do not have "permission" to open the files. How do I fix this so I can work with MY photos?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -
Using Windows Media player to view .3gp files
I really need help opening up a .3gp file that was sent from a cell phone. It said that I had to choose a file to open it with, and I chose Windows media player, but I keep getting this message.......Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player
might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
Can someone please tell me how I can correct this problem. I must see this video right away.
Thanks!Looking for a way to play 3GP or 3G2 files on your computer? If so,
there are a couple of ways you can do this. First of all, 3GP files are
usually movies that are taken from a mobile phone.
If you want to play these on your computer, you can either install a
codec or download third-party software to play these files. In this
article, I will try to mention all the different ways to play 3GP and
3G2 files.
Method 1 – Install Video Codec
Firstly, if you want to play 3GP files in Windows Media Player, you have to install one of the two following programs:
Haali media splitter
FFFDShow MPEG_4 Video Decoder
However, during the installation, you also have to select a specific configuration in order for it to work properly.
For FFDShow, you need to make sure that AMR is enabled on the Audio
Decoder screen and H263(+) is enabled on the Video Decoder screen.
For the Haali Media Splitter program, just make sure that the Enable MP4 support box is checked.
Method 2 – Convert File
The second way you can play these videos is to simply convert them.
This might be a better way so that you can play these videos on anyone’s
computer or stream them to devices like the XBox, etc. -

Hi, I've shot a short clip with my mobile phone which generates 3gp files. I can't import it in fcp because a message appears saying "access denied, 1 file unknown".
How can I do to get it into fcp project ?
Thanx for answering.
SteveWhat is the file extension? Rename it with a .3gp extension and FCP should recognize it. Not ideal for working with in FCP though, even if recognized. It would be recommended to transcode the file to a more acceptable edit format before you bring it in to FCP. You can use the excellent (and free) MPEG Streamclip application to open this file and Export it to Quicktime Movie format (.mov) using a suitable edit codec such as the DV codec.
MPEG Streamclip can be found here: http://squared5.com -
I am trying to open a GPP video file from my Motorola V3i mobile phone. The video plays perfectly well on the mobile but when I open it with Quicktime on my Apple G4 I only get audio. No picture at all. Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
GlenI have the same issue with .3gp files downloaded via Bluetooth from my Motorola L6.
QuickTime (v7.0.4) player opens the file without complaining, and the sound plays, but video is black.

.3gp files not playing anymore
I have two macs. One is a g4 duel with quicktime 7.0.1. I have been through all the problems with moving up and down versions with this computer. I also have an older g4. Both are running os 10.4.3. The older G4 has never had a problem with playing the .3gp files. The Dual use to play them but does not anymore. Quicktime will play the sound but not the picture.
Is there a quick fix for this problemOk, so I think you're going to want the stand alone projector if you want to be able to open the swf by double clicking. Just installing Flash Player will get you the plugin/active x control, but they won't be helpful unless you are viewing the swf's in a web browser.

I am trying to import developed images from LightRoom 5 Photoshop 6 for further editing. I am receiving this message and the images will not open.....'Could not open scratch file because the file is locked, or you do not have necessary access permissions or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file. How do I fix this? I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond with terms and procedures that a computer ignorant user, such as me, will understand. Thanks.
Have you tried restoring the Preferences yet?

I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3. When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files. I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file. I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud. I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible. Can anyone advise me what to do?
The T1i was first supported by Camera Raw 5.4 which is only compatible with CS4 and later

Some options:
Upgrade to CS6

Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all T1i Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS3

How to read, dispaly and open pdf files
Hi, I am very new to Java butI have VB6.0 background. My current requirement is to read pdf file names from a directory, then
show them on a form in a list (with their path in background pointing to the actual pdf files) and then once a user clicks any
file name, open that file on the form.
For example:
My pdf files are in a directory as following:
C:\myreports\user1\
report1.pdf
report2.pdf
report3.pdf
C:\myreports\user2\
report1.pdf
report5.pdf
The output on the form should look like this if user1 has logged in the system. Side note: I am able to get userid of the logged in person in a variable.
My Reports:
. Report 1
. Report 2
. Report 3
When a user clicks Report 1, it opens on the same form in pdf format.
Thanks
S.yhongFor the first part (Listing thepdf files in the directory) you can use the java.lang.File class.
File f = new File("path to your directory");
File files[] = f.listFiles();
then process the files array to find the files with extenction pdf
You can also use a file filter object and make the listFiles method return only the pdf files.
Please read the documentation about the File class for more info about it.
*/ For the displaying the pdf part is it good enough if you load the accrobat reader and with it. In that case you can do that using the Runtime.exec
Also you can search for free java based pdf viewers I am sure there must be meny.
And also the JTextPane might support pdf but I am not sure about it.
EDIT:
Just to say that this is my 1000th post :)
