Open a Excel in Portal Iview

Hi,
I have put a excel file in KM.
Now, I just want to create a iView for the Excel document.
The Excel should be opened when i display the iView.
Is it Possible to do so?
How to do this? Please help me.

Hi,
For the Docs iView, you have to have KMC installed. With this, just create a new iView from templates, KM Document iView; set path to the KM document in question.

Context Menu in BW Report Iview not opening after upgrade to Portal 7.3

Hi All,
We have a unusual problem that, the Context menu of the BW reports for options like filtering is not opening post Upgrade to Portal 7.3 for End users.
However, with Super Admin role, the Context menu opens for the BW report Iview.
I have tried giving the same permission that the Super Admin Role has on the BW Report Iview to the End users, still no success.
Any idea? Anybody faced same kind of problem?
Please revert for any more info.

This is really a shot in the dark since I have not done much with 7.3. Have you checked for UME actions that are assigned to the administrator but not the end user?

Problem with opening MS Excel files through Portal

Hi All,
I have a user that is complaining about the behaviour of MS Excel files in the Portal. The MS Excel files do not match their behaviour at the windows level. The issue has to do with how MS Excel files never seem to open in a maximized sate when you open them from the portal. The same cannot be said about MS Word files. The behaviour of MS word files is consistent between windows and portal.
Solutions will be REWARDED.

I hav uploaded the excel file into my KM contentafter that when i try to open it , it does not open as maximized.
Let me explain:
I create a new excel file on my desktop:
I open this file:
I maximize the workbook and save:
I close Excel and then open the file right back up:
I notice that Excel and the workbook open up maximized. I close Excel again.
I now upload the file to the portal:
I then open the file from here:
It is noticed that the Excel is not maximized. We would like for it to behave as it does from the desktop. In other words, if it is saved as maximized, it should open from the portal that way. If it is saved as half way open, it should open that way from the portal.
I have found that MS Word documents behave in the portal as they do on the desktop. I create an MS Word file on my desktop:
There appears to be something portal related that prevents MS Excel files from opening maximized.

Getting problem to open Web Transaction from Portal

User is trying to open one link from portal, which is SAP transaction iView.
This calls one custom transaction from SAP R/3.
This transaction is Easy Web Transaction and GUI support for it, is SAPGUI FOR HTML.
Now the problem is, user is not able to open this link from portal. I can open this same link in my login. But this particular user can't.
Whenever he tries to open this link, gets error message, 'Transaction ZXXXX can not be called in the Easy Access Menu; see long text' and instead of opening the transaction in browser, it opens SAP R/3 GUI.
I have checked the portal content and found no error.
Also asked user to login in my system, but got the same error.
This user is able to access same link from Quality portal, but not from Production portal.,
eventhough the data in both portals is same.
What can be the error?

You need to enable SharePoint class in IE. Please follow this
blog and follow this
article.
Once, this is done you can Enable all the IE settings to load for Intranet and Trusted zone settings
Put your site in compatibility mode and trusted zone
Also, make sure that 2 versions of Office suite is not installed on the system. Eg. Lync 2013 and Office 2010 on one single machine
What happen when you by pass your TMG server. To do this we need to make host entry for URL directed to APP server IP Address.

Open a QueryView from Portal in SAP Analyzer

Hey guys,
I have a Query Q1 and a view V_Q1 which was created in SAP Analyzer 7.0. I know how to publish V_Q1 to Portal, see

But using the tecnique above, V_Q1 always opens in Web Analyzer, but I want to get V_Q1 to be opened in SAP Analyzer.
I already achieved to publish Q1 to Portal and to be opened in SAP Analyser (using codelink com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction with Parameter QUERY=Q1 and Parameter SAP-GUI-Type = SAP Gui for Windows).
But how to publish V_Q1 to Portal and to be opened in SAP Analyzer.
All hints are helpful....

thank you for your response.
I created the View in BEx. I still can open the query view from BEx. I am able to open the query from Portal. From that config; i tried to change the iView in Portal, so that it opens the query view. But it isn't working. BEx is just opening blank.
I recognized, that there is also a parameter "Dynamic parameters" which seems to be important. Nevertheless, I didn't managed to open the query from from portal.
Do you have a working config?

Error in BI4 SP04 Olap Analysis Using Portal iview list template

We are trying to host the BI Launch Pad BI4 SP04.1 in the SAP Enterprise Portal (7.3.1.Sp04) on AIX 6.1 using the SAP Business Objects Document List Template, but getting an error when trying to use Olap for Analysis.
When previewng the iview from the portal, the bilaunch pad is opened and the main page is displayed
Then we select the icon Analysis for Olap, select an Olap connection and receive error in
message box titled 'Analysis Edition for Olap'
Login Failed. Invalid, User Name or Password
It seems to be problem with SSO token back to the SAP portal.
We have SSO configured from BI4 SP04.0.1 to BW 7.3.1. SP04 and can login to the launch pad using SAP authentication with the same account.
The security on the OLAP connection is everyone - view.
If we change the Olap connection authentication to pre-defined from SSO, Olap Analysis works correctly from the portal iview, but of course the permissions are not acceptable. Further, we set SSO to false from the global.properties file and restarted tomcat. We can then start the launchpad from the Iview in the portal and are prompted for manual logon, use SAP authentication and Olap for Analysis runs correctly as the same user we tried previously.
However, our requirement is to use SAP authentication and SSO from the portal to BI4 and not logon on manually.
I have entered an OSS message for this issue and making little progress there. If you have made this work or have some ideas you can share, I would be very grateful!

Just want to update with more information-
Again, from the enterprise portal through the ivew - BO Document List template,
Connects through to BI Launch Pad without having to login-using the BW ABAP credentials
Then we try to open a webi document with an olap connection that has sso authentication instead of pre-defined user, we do not get the same user login failed message, the page is just blank
But if I login directly to bi launch pas with the same SAP authentication that was used with the enterprise portal, and bring up the same webi document, the report is displayed as expected.
Anybody successfully use the BO document list ivew using Olap connections with SSO and not just a pre-defined user?

Execute a portal iview from VC

I am trying to find a way to call a portal iview from VC. Here is what I have, I have an iview created in the portal that I want to call from a VC model through a button on a form. Is this posible?

You can call an portal iView from anywhere with in portal (not only with VC) using relative navigation target, but for VC you have to:
assign system action to the button as Hyperlink and provide the relative navigation target url of the iView that you want to open like:
'/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.eu_ws/com.sap.portal.portal_information&NavMode=3'
NavMode can be as follows:
mode 0 for internal window,
mode 1 for external window with content,
mode 2 for external window with full navigation,
mode 3 for external headerless window
Note: "ROLES://portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.eu_ws/com.sap.portal.portal_information" should be replaced with your iView path.
Check System Administration -> Support -> Navigation -> Navigation Types for more options on you portal.

You're walking in circles. There is no magic answer to this problem. Web Dynpro is not an application of communication / interface with other applications, but a presentation layer for the user.
To perform this procedure interaction (simulating an ajax) you will need to use a middleware interface (CAF, EJBs, or any other technology that communicates directly with the Web Dynpro), or use the version 7.2 of Web Dynpro (maybe that solves their problems).
If only the external page you need to open did not have the user interaction (just loading and returning information) you could consume it like a WebService.

How to find the ABAP Webdynpro Component Name in the Portal IView(WDA)

I got one ABAP Webdynpro IView in portal , when i opened the Iview i got the Application name of ABAP Webdynpro in the properties of the Iview but i could not able to find the component name .
Please let me know how to find the component name of WDA , as i already got the Application name of component from Iview i.e WDA_ED_RDF ( this is applicaiton name found in the portal Iview for ABAP Webdynpro)

Right Click on any UI Element in Portal->Go to more field help->TEchical Information. You can see all the information about component, application, ui elements etc.

Excel service and OWA - getting ERROR while trying to open/edit Excel documents

We have configured SharePoint 2013 with Excel Service and OWA (Office Web Apps).
After configuring, we are able to view/edit Word or PowerPoint documents from the browser (as OWA is configured). But we are getting errors while trying to open/edit Excel documents.
We are not able to view/edit the excel workbook from the browser (through OWA).
To open the excel in the browser, decision has to be taken at the farm level on what to be used – Excel Service or OWA Server? Is it possible to do setting at site collection level?

When I export a playlist and then open in excel, do whatever sorting I want, I then save the file and reimport into itunes but not all the songs are there. It appears to be from "comma's" in the song name. Any solutions?

I see songs such as "Monday, Monday" or "Paint It, Black" or even the artist name such as "Fireballs, with Jimmy Gilmer" which have comma's in them, being a problem when I try to do the following:
1. Export a playlist which contains songs which are all there and play fine, but some have comma's in the title such as listed above.
2. I then open that file in Excel and bring it in as a Tab-delimited file. Everything lays out fine, and all the songs are thing (including those with comma's).
3. I then sort the varoius fields I want (which I can't do in i-tunes because i-tunes won't sort it properly), and resave the file as a newly named file, which is also a .txt file.
4. I then import that playlist into my itunes. It is exactly the same songs that I just had exported but i-tunes says some of the songs can't be found.
I have traced this problem to comma's in the file name of the song such as listed above. There must be a solution to this either as the file is opened in excel or in how it's saved or some other solution short of having to rename song/artists without using comma's.

The additional problem is the file name of the song itself. Even if I were able to delete the commas or replace with a space for example, changing the file name would result in itunes not being able to find the file. I would have to go through each file (out of about 15,000+ songs) to find any that have titles such as described in this thread and change not only the song and artist in the fields, but changing the mp3 file itself.
I fear that I am really pretty much going to have to start with a list of songs that have no comma and then do a file compare to find those songs with commas and then just physically moving them into a new playlist I'm trying to create, but this is a royal pain as I want to be able to create a variety of playlists based on these chart dates/peak positions.
I'm trying to sort the songs in this manner: I use different fields in itunes so that I can put the "peak position" of each song based on Billboard charts, as well as the date the peak position was acheived. I use the "comment box" for that. I use the "grouping" field for my peak position.
So I end up with something like "10/14/1980" in the comment box as the peak position for a song which is in the grouping field, and so forth. If I try to sort the comments column in itunes for example, it won't sort properly. If I sort the Grouping field, it will bring up all the "1's", but that's followed by "10", 11, ...19, then "2", etc. This is why I want to export the playlist and sort it as I want, and then reimport the playlist into itunes.
What I'm ultimately trying to achieve is a year-by-year peak position playlist so that I end up with every #1 song (in this case) from, say, January 1st 1980 and then every #1 song in sequential order for the rest of the year falls in line. I have chart position dates from 1955 through 1999. I have entered in all the data from Billboard books I own so I can really create some amazing playlists, but these commas are problematic. Had I known this ahead of time I would have made "Monday, Monday" as "Monday Monday" and not included commas, but it's too late for that.
Any suggestions?

Microsoft Forms and Microsoft Visual Basic while opening the Excel file

I have issues with 2010 64 bit Office Pro Plus Excel. Whenever I open an Excel file (97-2003 worksheet) which has macros then I get below 2 errors in sequence.
Please note that all macro settings are enabled and below are my system configs.
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit,
MS Office Pro Plus 2010 64 bit with SP2.
Googled all and tried but in vein and also note that I dont have any .exd files under ../forms to delete. Please help.
Please note that for others with same system config/office versions and same 97-2003 worksheet it works so issues is only in my system.

Your macro's will not run in a Office 64 environment only in a 32bit environment. The 64bit environment has a whole different setup and macro's created in an earlier 32 bit environment will stop working.
So if you want to use them in a 64 Office environment you have to rewrite the macro's.

"Error -2147352573 occured at Member not found" when trying to open an excel template

I'm trying to open an excel document as a template using the report generation tools but coming up with this error. I've traced the error to NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Excel_Open_Workbook.vi but have to idea why it's happening. The document seems to be fine as I can open and edit it in Excel. Has anyone else seen this? I'm using Labview 8.6 and Excel 2000. I've attached an image of the error and it's source. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing out the compatibility issue. I got the error with version 1.1.3 and therefore upgraded to 1.1.4 - after taking a glance at the readme document. I guess that I was mistaking the supported OS version ("Windows Vista/XP/2000") with the supported version of MS Office ("2007/2003/XP").
I originally received the error when running an executable on a Office 2000 machine. The executable was built on a Office 2003 machine since I have previously been able to build on Office 2003 and run on 2000. I'm not sure what was different with this executable. Anyway, after installing the LV development system on the Office 2000 machine, the issue turned out to be that some ActiveX methods had been disconnected. All I had to do was re-point the Invoke Nodes to the appropriate ActiveX methods.
Please note that my application in this case is very simple and therefore only exposes a small part of the Office 2000 ActiveX API. I'm sure that I would run into a non-compatibility wall if I were to implement more Office 2000 functions with RGT 1.1.4.
