Open a loop of videos on QuickTime?

Hi,
When I select multiple videos and open them at the same time in QuickTime I get a frame for every video, can I open multiple videos that comes up in one single frame and starts automatically playing one after another?

Hello,
No. Unfortunately you can not queue videos in QuickTime. Try another videos player. I suggest VLC, it can handle playlists. Download it from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

I have windows XP with 32bit. I have a DVD that I was told was make in MOV. file. I have down loaded and unloaded Quicktime several times and it is always the same. The audio plays fine, but the only video I get is the opening frame of the video and it stops there, but the audio goes ahead and plays?  Any ideas??

    It should play in QuickTime.
Try dragging the file from the mounted DVD to the desktop (it will copy). It may playback properly.

  • Quicktime Player opens all past viewed videos

As I opened my first video in Quicktime it played fine, then I closed Quicktime Player and opened another video. At that point the new and old videos opened. The more videos I viewed the more that opened. I cannot close individual windows I must close Quicktime to close all windows. I can no longer just open one video.

    Here are the Terminal commands:
to disable Resume in Preview and QuickTime Player X:
defaults write com.apple.Preview NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
defaults write com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
Quit the apps before you run the commands.  Again, swap "true" for "false" to reverse your change.

  • Quicktime won't open files, Get Info Video Preview crashes finder

When double-clicking any .avi video file, Quicktime attempts to open it, and then returns an error report with "excbadaccess kernprotectionfailure".
VLC will play any of these files perfectly. I want to set up file handling so that VLC always opens .avi files, so I right-click a video file and go to "Get Info," but in that window the Finder tries to generate a preview of the video, and after a second or two crashes the Finder with no error message.
It is very annoying not to be able to double-click video files to open them. How can I get this working?
Sorry if this has been asked before. Any advice would be appreciated.
Mac Mini Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Quicktime 7.0.4

Thank you for the quick reply.
That method works when selecting and then right-clicking individual files or groups of files, but I frequently put new .avi files on the machine, and I have to repeat the process. I was looking for a solution that would make any future .avi files open in VLC with a double click.
Furthermore, once the file has been set to load in VLC and the icon has changed to a VLC icon, selecting Get Info for that file will still unceremoniously crash the Finder. Is there any way to fix the preview in the Get Info window, or at least stop it from crashing the Finder?

  • Blank, now garbled video in quicktime osx

I have a Samsung SC-MX20 camera, play perfectly in QuickTime Player 7.6 but the video is blank (black) in quicktime X, up until I upgraded to 10.6.4. Now the video is garbled. Funny thing is it plays fine on my (older) imac. Computer is a macbook (non firewire), late 2008 model.
    Thoughts?
    Rick

I'm having the same problem (no video when I open a MP4 or other video in QuickTime Player). However, I can view videos in iTunes. Candydrop's list is mostly my list too, but I don't have: AC3MovieImport.component or Perian.component.
I do have these that CandyDrop doesn't:
    AppleMPEG2Codec.component
    DivX Decoder.component
    FLV.component
So to sum up, this is my list:
    AppleIntermediateCodec.component
    AppleMPEG2Codec.component
    DivX Decoder.component
    Flip4Mac WMV Advanced.component
    Flip4Mac WMV Export.component
    Flip4Mac WMV Import.component
    FLV.component
Any ideas? This is a huge problem for me and I have to have it solved by the end of the day! Ack!

    Hi Tim ..
    Reinstall Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard
Then restart your Mac. Try Safari.
If it crashes again, uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Quit then relaunch Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info.
If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • I can't play Sorenson 3 video on Quicktime X

I have a few videos that I need to convert into a viewable format on my Mac.  Currently when I try to play the videos on Quicktime X, all I get is audio but no video.
Upon opening Movie Inspector I see the following:
    Format: Sorenson Video 3 Pro, 848 x 480
                 AAC, 44100 Hz, Mono
I already tried enabling legacy codecs on the command line, but I still can't see the video.
Is there anyone that can help me?

Interesting topic. See if the following helps.
    Format: Sorenson Video 3 Pro, 848 x 480
                 AAC, 44100 Hz, Mono
Believe the Sorenson Video 3 Pro codec was a paid multi-pass VRB upgrade to the Apple Standard Sorenson/Sorenson 3 video codec package. Assume the standard package supports Sorenson Video 3 Pro playback but cannot test this hypothesis as I only have the standard codec currently active and no Sorenson Video 3 Pro sample files available for testing. If so, then...
I already tried enabling legacy codecs on the command line, but I still can't see the video.
Under Mavericks and Yosemite, legacy codecs are, by default, available for passive (playback) support. I.e., it is only necessary to re-enable legacy video codecs is you plan to use them actively for export in QT 7 based apps or similar third-party apps like MEG Streamclip. Unfortunately, the "Modernizer" routine for QT X will only pass the data to the converter if it is programmed to do so. If you have the QT 7 player installed on your system, suggest you try playing the file in that media player. If the file plays, then you can either use this player for playback. In addition, if you have the QT 7 Player keyed for "Pro" use or have the MPEG Streamclip app installed on your system, then you can also convert such files to H.264/AAC for compatibility with all current QT media players. On the other hand. if the files are not playable, then it would seem to indicate that the standard Sorenson Video 3 package does not support Sorenson Video 3 Pro playback.
Also of interest to me was the fact that the FFmpeg codec package also supports Sorenson Video/Sorenson Video 3 content. Unfortunately, nothing was stated regarding "Pro" variation playback support in the articles I read. Basically this means that apps, such as VLC, HandBrake, etc, may or may not also support the playback and/or conversion of your Sorenson Video 3 Content. Would, therefore, also recommend you also test your files in these or similar apps. My personal preference for conversion would be the latest version of HandBrake.

  • Can not encode / export videos in quicktime Pro

I have been unable to ever sucessfuly export a video with quicktime pro on my new laptop I got this past July right from the start.
When ever I start exporting a video into the h.264 or other formats the progress will start off at 8% and about 5 minutes later will on average get as far as 21%. But that is as far as I can get. At that time quicktime terminates. I get a Message from the Visual C++ Library saying that QuickTimePlayer.exe has encountered a buffer overun and its internal state has become currupted and must be terminated. When you click OK quicktime Is closed out, and the file you were attempting to create is left on your disk with a file size of 0 bytes.
This is with the latest version of quicktime.
    My system spects are
    CPU: AMD Athlon X2 4800+
    Memory: 2 GB
    OS: Windows XP Professional SP2
Does anyone know what is causing the buffer overrun and how I can fix it or get past this problem. Uninstalling and Reinstalling quicktime does not fix the issue and it has been happening since day one like I said.
I typed out the whole buffer overrun error when It occured about 10 minutes ago here trying to post this thread, however I should of known better then leaving the buffer overrun errors open and quicktime ideling with the termination message. Windows Decided to BSOD on my just as I was getting ready to post this message=\

QuickTime is not supported on the 64-bit version of Windows (look here for the official statement), so if that's what you have (as I presume you do from the processor description), it may well not work correctly. Some people have managed to get it working (at least tolerably), but from what I've read, a recent security update from Microsoft has caused a lot of problems. You might try rolling back recent Windows updates and see if you can get things working, but it may just not work for you.

  • Keep getting error code 2048 when trying to open wmv files, says realplayer cannot open with the installed version of Quicktime, any suggestions?

Keep getting error code 2048 when trying to open wmv files, says realplayer cannot open with the installed version of Quicktime, any suggestions?

wmv is a Windows Media format.  I don't know why Realplayer is coming into it since that deals primarily with Real format files and maybe a few generic formats.
    You need
    Free Flip4mac QuickTime player components - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx
After installation a new Flip4Mac pane will appear in System Preferences.  Make sure you set the boxes to ensure that it will play WMV files in Quicktime.
or play the files with VLC
VLC media player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - general media player that plays just about anything.
While you're at it you might install:
Perian codecs for Quicktime - http://www.perian.org - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats
Quicktime audio problems, Perian, VLC - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9013669 - read note about uninstalling prior DIVX support before installing Perian.
Perian doen't do WMV but it's handy to get many things to play in Quicktime.
Note, if these are protected WMV, nothing on a Mac will play those (unless you also have Windows installed).

Why does Quicktime tell me it can't play certain videos created with my Phantom 2 v3 drone ? I fly the drone and switch back and forth from video to still pics and while I may have filmed four videos , sometimes Quicktime tells me that one of them can't be played . Checking the info shows that each of the unplayed videos was saved in the same mp4 format as the playable ones yet some of my most important videos won't play . It's getting very frustrating .

first; I use Perian, that helps even though it is no longer supported, (must have for avi files)
the apple-cores at apple have gotten very sloppy -- quicktime is a bit finicky and flakey.
example,   occasionally (when copy file from quad's card to hard drive)  the avi will show up as a 'mov' file and qt plays it no problem and no conversion.
but that is very occasionally,  most of the time qt won't convert the file,   -- iMovie won't open an avi without Perian installed  ,  I don't know how that effects qt.
qt 7"pro" is no good either, (qt 10 does everything it does and for NOT the extra $35)
I have gone to VLC  and MPlayerX  for direct playback for drones and cameras.

Get ClipWrap2 and convert to an editable format for your version of FCP5.
    Probably DVCProHD will work

  • Why can't I open a Quick time video (QTCON) on my Macbook 10.6.8?

Why can't I open a Quick time video (QTCON) on my Macbook 10.6.8? This should be straight forward right? But its not.

Quicktime X is a great little piece of software. However, Quicktime X is very finicky on which codec/file format it can decode/play.
Luckily, there are DOZENS of alternative video/media players and extensions available for the Mac. Some of them are even FREE. Some of the better FREE ones include...
    PERIAN (quicktime extension)
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22923/perian
    QUICKTIME 7.6.6
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923
    VLC Media Player
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/5758/vlc-media-player
    NICEPLAYER
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15136/niceplayer
... And if none of those work, there is a possibility that, that video file may be corrupted.

  • How to loop a video?

What's the best way loop a video so it will replay for the duration of a trade show? Have an iPad 6.1.3, Samsung Smart 5500 TV, and an iphone 4S. Can I load the movie in the iphone to play, and how do I get it to loop? Thanks in advance.

    Hi michael,
If you aren't able to get the looping option to work, here's another option...
There's an app that will do it for you… and its free!
    LOOPYLOOPY
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/loopyloopy/id435457141?mt=8
First connect your iPad to your computer. Open iTunes. Select your iPad in iTunes, and click the Apps tab. At the bottom you'll see File Sharing. Select LOOPY and click the "Add..." button at the bottom of the LOOPY documents window. Add the movie. Click the Sync button in the lower right corner. Open LOOPY on your iPad. Tap the Menu button in the lower right and select your movie.
There are some other apps (paid) that will do it for you like VideoLoop Playerhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/videoloop-player/id432855782?mt=8 and LoopVideoPlayer https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/loopvideoplayer-video-loop/id398897303?mt=8 so if LOOPYLOOPY isn't right for you then you could try the other two.
    Hope this helps!

  • ImageJ in Yosemite can not import video from QuickTime plugin

ImageJ in Yosemite can not import video from QuickTime plugin.... it seems can not found QuickTime_Capture.jar within QuickTime_Plugins.jar but I'm sure it is in the plugin directory.

    Thank you Benjt and Sue:
I have first chosen to followed Sue's suggestion concerning the firewire connections since that looked to be the one most easily done quickly. I therefore had to make more room on the hard drive in my MacBook Pro since the drive is only 100 GB. I normally use an external 400GB drive to hold my video files since one of the plays last May required about 200GB! However, the play this time was a short one and not really High Density anyway like the one was in May with a much finer camera. I have been connecting the external HD via Firewire800.
I simply moved a number of files from my MacBook Pro drive and put them in the external HD as well as another HD and then disconnected the external HD from my MacBook. I was, indeed, able to import the entire tape in one shot into iMovie. iMovie is still not working right since I found that I had to click "import" in iMovie to start collecting a clip and then hit "play" on my camcorder to actually import the tape contents into the clip. I found the whole play, just 50 min this time, in that clip when we returned home this evening.
I can now get the editing done one their last play for the kids and have DVDs for them when I go back up to Gainesville to record their current play on Thursday evening.
I will then devote some time to trying to solve the rest of the problem, looking into Benjt's suggestions.
Thanks very much for your very timely critical and positive help this afternoon. For your information, I also have been working on learning Final Cut Express but as I tried to put all of my reading into practice, I now I can't even get FCE to open - but that's another story and a very different problem.
    Thanks again.

  • Can't play MP4 videos in Quicktime

    Hi,
I have uploaded some videos from my camera to my iMac. They are in the MP4 format. When I am in the Finder, I can preview the video and I am able to see video and sound...But when I double click and open in quicktime, then it only plays sound with no video. I also tried to open the video in Final Cut Pro, but it doesnt recognize the file.
Any solutions??? Please respond asap- THANKS!

Download a copy of MediaInfo Mac and tell us what codecs are being used. MP4 is less of a hold-all wrapper than AVI but maybe there's something strange in the video codec.
    Also try:
[Perian codecs for Quicktime|http://www.perian.org] - plugins to add functionality to Quicktime for playing additional audio and video formats
[Quicktime audio problems, Perian, VLC|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9013669] - read note about uninstalling prior DIVX support before installing Perian.
