Open a site created on another computer

I bought a new computer. One of my muse sites will not open. The files all seem to be there but when I go to the directory there is no muse file I can click to open.

Hello,
When you say you can see the Muse file of other site and it works OK, are you referring to the folder where you had Exported the site?
It all depends where you have saved your .muse file. It can be inside the folder where you have Exported the website or it can be in some other folder.
It might be possible that the .muse file was residing in some other folder and not in Exported folder which you copied over to this computer.
You might have to check for .muse file on your old machine.
Regards,
Sachin

    Hi,
The link you provided is for the HTML fillable form. Is that what you are trying to download?

Is there an ADOBE pgm that will properly read in PDF files created from another pgm and convert them to ADOBE PDF so they do not error when they are opened to be viewed by ADOBE pgm?

There is no way to know all the different scan/fax/pdf printers that are used to make the original PDFs...

  • Load site created on 1 computer into iweb of another?

i created a site for a friend in iweb on my own macbook and want to load it into iweb on his macbook so that he can maintain it. does anyone know how to do this? i tried loading the domain file from library/applications support/iweb, but he does not have an iweb folder in his applications support folder. any help would be appreciated
    macbookpro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

He doesn't have such a folder probably because he's not launched iWeb yet. Just have him create an iWeb folder there and put your Domain.sites file into it. When iWeb is then launched it will look in that folder and open the file.

  • Does anyone know how I can edit a site created by another user on my imac?

    Hi,
We are a family new to our imac. One of us created a site with iweb. Now I want to get to the site and edit it? I don't see the site when I start iweb...Can someone provide an answer and any recommendations on how to set up multiple sites so that we can share editing privileges?
    Thanks!
    imac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    elegantKB,
Welcome to Apple's Discussions area, and congratulations on your new iMac!
Here's what you need to know about creating/sharing websites with the iWeb application; iWeb stores everything you create with the app in a single file, called Domain.sites. It lives on the hard drive of the computer that created it here. If you duplicate/copy this file and move it to another Mac using the same version of iWeb, that machine will open it and you will be able to edit the site. If you configure the second machine to publish to the same .Mac account (assuming you are using .Mac), you can not only edit the site, but you can also publish the same from two separate machines.
You will need to keep track of the latest version of this Domain file if you share it.
Be careful with this file and back it up often. It contains every single page and/or Site that you create with iWeb.
See these notes for more details on how to edit and publish the same iWeb site from two separate machines.

  • Unable to open a project created by another team member in my Captivate 4

I have installed Captivate 4 on two PCs. According to my license I am allowed to install on my home laptop and on my work PC.
I am using Version 4.0.1 Build 1658. I also have all the latest updates as of October 13, 2009.
I am able to develop and publish an instance that runs on my desktop or on the Internet. The problem is when I try to edit an instance on my WORK PC that was created on my HOME PC.
When I click on OPEN and the file name "SampleDemoCourse.cp", Captivate actually goes through the motions of READING PROJECT and the LOADING PROJECT and it displays these actions on the lower left corner of my screen. Then it tells me the PROJECT PATH showing the directory on my hard drive where the file is located.
But it never really opens in Captivate. I cannot do anything after that.
    Any ideas, please?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled software many times with help of Adobe Support. I have checked to make sure my preferences are identical.
    Thanks,

    Hi Drew
    Normally it's pretty simple.
    1. Copy the .CP file(s) from source computer to intermediate media. (Network server, USB drive, CD, Etc.)
    2. Copy .CP file(s) from intermediate media to destination PC.
    3. Open Captivate and open file(s) in new location on destination PC.
At no point should you ever consider leaving the .CP file on a network drive and opening Captivate and browsing to the file to make edits while it is in the network location. You always want to work locally.
Another thing to consider is that Captivate seems touchy with CP files. You will want to ensure that all PCs are using the same version of Captivate. This includes patches. I wouldn't want to save a .CP file from a patched version 4 and expect to open it without issues on an unpatched version 4.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Unable to open a Page document on another computer

I used Page to create a document and then emailed it to my home to continue working. I have Page on this computer, but when I try to open I get the message -- Unable to open “Gardiner List.pages” because it isn't a valid Pages document.

I have just had the same problem. Another Mac user sent me a Pages 09 file that had been saved in Pages 08 format, but I could not open with my Pages 08. Then he sent me a Pages 08 file he created and I could not open that either. He also sent me a DOC version of the file, which I could open in Pages 08. Also, he had no problem opening a Pages 08 document that I sent him. Help.

  • Cannot open .odc files created by another user - Unexpected error

I have exported an .odc file from Excel into a shared Data Connection Library. The connection file works fine for myself and the data refreshes, however when another user tries to either open the .odc file direct from the Library or refresh
the data from the excel file they receive an error.
I have checked the Sharepoint permissions and all the users attempting to access the connection file have the same as myself. The library has also been saved as a Trusted Location by each user and the Excel Services Authentication when the .odc
file was created was set as the standard Windows Authentication.
I asked a user to create another .odc file for the same data and they were able to save this into the connection library. However the same error occurs when I try to access this new file. The error I recieve is 'An unexpected error has occured. Changes to
your data cannot be saved'. I can open the connection files that I have created but not ones that others have.
I am only an end user so I don't have access to Central Administraion to configure the Unattended Account in the Excel Service Administration page as suggested in another post.
So is there any other way around this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
An ODC file is just a txt file and can be opened with notepad to edit. A Data Connection Library needs to be Trusted via Central Administration, Manage Service Applications, Excel Services Application, Trusted Data Connection Libraries, Click Add Trusted
Data Connection Library. However, you should still be able to  open someone else's ODC file unless its been saved as a draft?

  • Errors opening a proyect created in another machine

Hi... I am new in Java specially with Sun Java Creator 2.. I created a Web Application JSF with some controls like combos, lists, trees, and I added some programation to them. I run it, and the result was great: no erros, but when I copied the project's folder in order to open it in another machine it, the project's name was in red in the project's windows, and when i clicked over it an option of resolving reference problems appeared. I don't know what happened because I downloaded example projects from Sun's web page, and they don't present this problem? I think that my project is being managed through dinamic libraries? Am I right? If not what is happening? Is it possible to manage static libraries in order to avoid this problem?

  • Viewing an iMovie that was created on another computer

Hi. A friend who made a movie but didn't have a superdrive to make the DVD asked me to do it. I copied all the files (about 40 GB worth) onto my hard drive but when I try to open the file, I get "There are 171 files that don't belong in the project" and "Do you want to move them to the trash?" (I say "No"). Then it says "There are 325 stray clip files in the project folder." If I "Move files to clips pane" they just appear in alpha order and there's no movie. Is there some hidden file I'm missing and not copying that lets my computer's iMovie know what's in the original timeline? Also, both the main file name and the tilde version have blank icons and the files are only 800 KB. Something's wrong, obviously. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Recover a book created on another computer

    Hi,
One of my colleage has created a book with iPhoto, that I ordered from her computer using my apple account(login/pw).
What I need now is to recover the book file on my laptop to be able to make modifications on it before next order.
We only managed to get some video readable with itunes... Does someone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Either on your friends computer or on yours if you follow the directions in Old Toad's Tutorial #9a - Archiving an iPhoto 7/8 Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date. you can get an iPhoto Library that contains only the book and the photos in the book.
If you do it on your friends computer you can burn the resulting book library package to a disc, CD or DVD depending on the size of the library, using the Finder and transfer it over to your computer to add additional photos to it, etc.

  • How to access my website created from another computer and location?

I am a beginner.  My nephew made an e-commerce site for me using dreamweaver on a Mac.  I purchased dreamweaver cs5 and have windows vista.  He sent me the FTP address, username and password.  I opened dreamweaver and am asking what to do to access and download the files?

but it keeps saying that the local files should match exactly to the web which I obviously don't have.
    What's the exact message?
The whole purpose of connecting is to download remote files to local so they mirror each other.
It describes how to up load but not download.
Download is the exact opposite of upload.
Select Remote View, select all files, click Get.
When I get to that point, that will download all the webfiles into my local folder rewriting everything there?
    Yes.
But you don't have any files locally which will be overwirtten, do you? Just an empty folder waiting to be filled with files from the Remote server.

  • Can you open Logic 8 sessions on another computer that only has Logic 7?

My and some friends are working on a project. I have Logic 8, they have Logic 7. Is it possible for me to open session from my computer on theirs?

If the storage device is a network attached storage (NAS) then it will have its own operating system that offers sharing services through protocols like AFP or SMB. This means the device itself manages access permissions, and to access files you will need to log into the NAS with the appropriate credentials.
If the drive is just an external FireWire, USB, or Thunderbolt storage array, then you can select it in the Finder, press Command-I to get information on it, and then click the option to ignore permissions on this volume in the Sharing section of the information window. This will allow you full access to the drive's contents.

  • PP CC won't open a file saved on another computer

A co-worker saved a PP CC edit and passed the file on to me to re-link the media and continue the edit, but my PP CC is telling me the file was created in a newer version of premiere. We checked both of our computers and they are both running the latest, updated version of PP CC. Any thoughts?
