Open any file

Question

Hi
I have the follwoing code which open a file and it works fine.
/// examples
try {  
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c start c:\\temp.txt");
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c start c:\\goodwebsites.doc");
catch(Exception e){
System.out.println(e);
If the file name contains a space example ( good web sites.doc ) I get an error ?
Any idea please

You might want to check out a different signature of
exec--one that has the command as one string, and each
arg as its own string, all in a String array:

So you'd do something like this: String[] cmdArr = {"cmd", "/c", "start", "c:\\good web
sites .doc"};
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmdArr); I'd think that this should take care of passing things
correctly to the OS, but I haven't had a chance to
test it.
