Open Aperture and don't have any images in my library.. but library is 2GB
I used to use Aperture a lot, not so much any more. But I opened it tonight to look at some photos (1.5.6) and I have nothing in my library. My Aperture library is almost 2GB, so I know there's information in there, but I can't see any photos. Anyone have an idea why I'm experiencing this?

Check the location of your "Aperture Library.aplibrary" module, the default location is in the Users/Pictures folder... dbl click to open the "Aperture Library.aplibrary" module... this will open Aperture.app and your photos should appear.
If the module is not there that might mean it's lost... go for a spotlight search.
Still no photos, (and you've checked to make sure the module has data, (you said 2GB), then you may want to delete the "com.apple.Aperture.plist"
This far and no Photos? Delete Aperture.app then reinstall a fresh copy of Aperture from the install disk.

Apple can't seem to help me with this verification of payment information message that I'm getting when I try to rent a movie. My payment information is correct, and they don't have any issues billing me for anything else. What can I do?
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
I don't have any photos in my mac at all yet here it's show i have almost 1 gb of photos how? i don't understand i tried looking for it yet i couldn't find it anywhere.
Having a 128gb mac space is a big issue for me and all these are uselessly taking so much space.

What part of "Ignore" is not clear? No you shouldn't worry about it.
You have loads of photos on your Mac - things like icons and other interface elements, screenshots in Help files and such things.
Really. You don't have a problem. You can remove all those images files if you want, it's just that your Mac won;t work if you do. -
Neither finger swipes on the mouse nor moving the scroll bar works at all. On problem sites, you have to expand the window just to get the scroll bar to show itself and then when you try to drag it with the mouse, it doesn't move at all. Some sites behave normally (like Apple's), but most don't.

You havn't got notifications muted have you ? Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to notifications can be muted either by the switch on the right-hand side of the iPad or via the taskbar (whatever the switch is set to control, the other function is controlled via the left end of the taskbar). In my apple store, they replaced my hard-drive. Now, it is only 273GB free instead of almost all my 1TB. I can't see what are the files with such a size!

I need some help on being able to sync my computer with my Iphone. It says I can do up to 5 computers and that I already have my limit. Well I have a new computer and don't have any of those 5 computers any more. What can I do?
If you don't have any of those computers you will have to email iTunes store support to reset your account. If you have just one of them, open iTunes, go to the Store menu, and choose to deauthorize all computers on the account.

I have upgraded my ipad2 to the latest ios. shortly after this message came up: "ipad is disabled, connect to itunes". I have never synced my ipad2 to itunes and don't have any backup. Is there any way to bypass this without restoring the device? I have many articles on "iAnnotate" that can not afford to loose.
You can't bypass it, you will need to connect iPad to a computer's iTunes, and you may need to put it into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad, which will remove all content from it.
You haven't been backing up to the cloud either, and/or keeping copies of important documents/files elsewhere e.g. on your email account, Dropbox etc ? -
I am getting an error message that "A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time" and I don't have any copy open. How do I correct this problem? I really like firefox because it runs many technical programs on the web that do not work with safari. I have FireFox version 32.0.1 installed on my MacPro PowerBook OS X 10.7.5. My activity monitor does not show any FireFox activity, so do not know what it is seeing
This worked, I used the method described in this link http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=365156, and opened the Mozilla profile screen with the terminal on my mac, using the language given in the links. Then I duplicated my original profile to save the bookmarks, etc. Put them in a folder listed Duplicate profile with the date. With the open profile screen, I deleted my original profile, created new profile folder and then a new profile. Note that profile cannot be created in the system library, it must be created on the disc, because the library will not allow writing into it. After I created my new profile folder, I dragged all my old information into it, and it worked. Firefox closed and the error disappeared. You must be VERY careful to make sure Firefox is closed anytime you are doing anything with the profile folders. I think that is what caused my original problem.

Hi, I'm having trouble saving the documents when merging in Preview. I don't have any problems merging the pdf documents by dragging them in preview, but when I try to save and open afterwards, only the last shown doc was saved, not the combined files I wanted to merge. I've tried save and export, but none merge the documents after saving... how can I create the file (with all the pdf files) after merging?
That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

I downloaded updates for "Office for Mac" a few days ago and it won't finish. It keeps saying I have to close Safari, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint and I don't have any of these open. Can anybody help me?

The picture ID on my outgoing Mac mail is not mine -- it's the photo of boyfriend of my mother in law is appearing as my ID photo. I have no link or connection with anybody or other accounts whatsoever, and I don't have ANY third-party networks myself. HELP!!!
Nobody but you sees that photo, it does not appear on outgoing emails.
To remove the picture rather than change it, open Address Book and select your personal card, then from the menubar select Card > Clear Custom Image. Now the system will use Apple’s generic user picture in the login window and System Preferences’ Accounts pane. Mail and Address Book will remain blank until you designate a new picture in Address Book or System Preferences > Accounts. -
I took my computer in to have the Backup restored onto my computer after having a new harddrive put onto my 1year 1/2 old MacBook Pro. When i got it home there was a new User that i had to logout of to getting into my normal user. Don't know why this was, just figured the Mac guys that installed my backup did this for some odd reason. Today i could not open any of my files in the backup on the time machine. All the folder had line going thought them and when i clicked on them I revieved this message: can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents. After talking with that same mac store. I decided to just delete all the files out of the time machine as it was just put back on my computer and i have everything i need. Hours later when i tried to empty the trash i got this messsage: the operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003).
Any advise how to fix my problem?
thanks in advanceWhile you see a single trash can, in reality there are trash folders on each mounted volume. I don't use TM but what you are describing implies that a TM drive is no different with the way trash is treated. So when the TM is unmounted the trash folder on there is gone and thus the trash looks empty. Remount the drive, the trash folder on it now causes the trashcan to look like something is in it.
If TrashIt! could not remove the file, I'm sorry, you will need to use the terminal. We can do this one step at a time so you only have to copy/paste the lines into terminal (except the first time). So launch Terminal (in utilities). You might want to make the window that is shown a bit larger with the grow box since it's pretty small.
This first line is the only exception to the copy/pasting since you have to enter some information.
sudo ls -laR /Volumes/your-TM-volume-name/.Trashes
where your-TM-volume-name is the name of your TM volume. That's the part you have to fill in since I don't know it.
When you hit return the sudo in that command will cause a prompt for your admin password. Enter it and hit return again. Note the password will not be shown as you type it. Post the results so I can tell you what to do next.
Note this ls command is not doing anything but listing the files in the TM's .Trashes folder. Remember I said each drive has it's own trash folder. .Trashes is it. -
I am trying to finish the installation of Reader from Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium and it will not let me proceed because it says "Please close the following applications to continue. Google Chrome.exe" , I don't have any Chrome applications open and I have even gone to Add/Remove Programs and removed Chrome from my PC. Still get error. Any advice?
