This is my first go at this so be kind,
My question concerns launchpad. Coming from Snow Leopard I had been using spaces. I like to keep certain bundles of programs on separate desktops, for example all word processing related tasks in one place. I have set up the equivalent on Yosemite.
My problem is concerns the loss of exposé. Now I know when you swipe into launch pad you get a very similar effect but the issue I am having concerns the "zoom out" effect when you swipe into launchpad. With exposé all open apps/pages etc would be fully exposed - in my case several (sometimes as many as 9 word documents). What I am running into is when I do this in / into launch pad the "pile" of docs is exposed but they are still overlapping so I can't get a good look at which is which and visually identify where I want to navigate to.
My question is this; Is there a way to adjust the settings on launchpad so that when I swipe into it all the open apps/pages are fully separated (like in exposé) so that I can fully view all of them simultaneously? If so, instructions on how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Any alternative suggestions to doing this outside of launchpad are also welcome. If there is an exposé app for example, I would be quite willing to go that route.
My main concern is being able to quickly (ie a touchpad gesture) expand all the open pages so I can bounce between them.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

My app store is not working after installing mavericks. When I open app store it repeatedly asking me to login with apple ID and to provide User name and Password for proxy authentication in a loop.I am a newbie to mac,Please help me.
Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?

ipone 4s display suddenly doesn't work any more. most of the time i can't even unlock my iphone as it puts the numbers itself. and if i am lucky to unlock it opens apps and does everything else whenever my finger comes near the display without even touching it. I did reset and also updated my operating system. But the problem stills shows up... can anyone help please?

Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

I wanna know what do i do to close open apps such as chat,watsapp..bucz i thought not being them means thewre closed. Buh wen i wanted to go on my mail it said to much opened apps, then it showed me all that was open an choose one. So i wanna know how do i close them...i still have alot that opened but im not using them...plz help thank u !
It would be helpful to let us know your phones model. In the meantime, to close applications on an N8 running Anna you simply long press on the menu button to open the task manager and tap on the cross on the top right of the app you want to close or long press in one of the windows and tap close all to shut down all running apps.

I can't open apps on my iPhone. The touch screen doesn't work. I have restored it already but it still won't work. What can I do.
If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.

By default, on a mac keyboard F3 lets you see all the open apps and the such. However, I changed it so that I use those keys for keyboard shortcuts; But i'd like the normal F3 key to still work without me having to press FN.

in the Keyboard pane of System Preferences, select the Shortcuts tab, and then select Mission Control on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side, make sure that the Mission Control checkbox is checked, double-click on its current key combination (by default “^↑”) so that the key combination is highlighted, and then press the F3 button — that will set its shortcut to be F3. You can now press F3 to bring up Mission Control without needing to also press the Fn button. -
My iPad won't open apps without crashing

My iPad mini (1st gen) keeps crashing as soon as I open apps. I've tried resetting and turning on and off but this doesn't do anything. I'm trying to restore but iTunes say I can't because "Find my iPad" is turned on and tells me to turn it off in the iCloud settings on my iPad but obviously I cannot do this as the Settings app crashes when I try to open it. I am on the latest operating system (iOS 8.3)You should be able to do a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, then release the buttons and let the mini complete its startup routine.
If that does not help, you can login to your iCloud account from a computer or another device that has the Find My Phone app installed, go to Find My Phone, and remove the iPad Mini from the devices list. That will free it so you can to deeper reset. -
i have an internet connection but when i open app store it shows error message "cannot connect to app store".when i try to sign in with my valid apple ID and password it says "connection failed".i tried keychain access settings but it did not help.please help me!!
Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
Make sure the Firewall is turned off. -
Problem description:
(MacBook Pro 15” late 2008, OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 installed, no pending updates) computer is running very slow - takes 2-3 minutes to open apps such as Pages, even when no other apps are open. Randomly freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring forced power down. Randomly logs off. Removed Kodak AIO software via Clean My Mac2, but BonjourAgent still there and requesting access. Cleaned weekly with Clean My Mac2 and running Sophos AntiVirus. 2GB memory installed. Currently 169.99 GB available of 249.2 GB capacity.

How to force open apps to close on auto logoff?
Can anyone help me? Several family members use my iMac under a single profile, the ADMIN profile (I know - misteak!). Well, now I want change this. I plan to create an account for each user. Then, because everyone is used to leaving apps open and walking away from the computer, I want to make the computer automatically logout after a period of inactivity. Unfortunately, since users leave apps open, I want the computer to automatically close any open apps at the time of the auto logout. The problem I'm trying to resolve is that the auto logoff gets inturrupted if a user leaves an app open. They are then asked if they want to save their work, then someone else comes along and starts using the computer. I just want the computer to logoff regardless of any open apps and I don't care if any data may be lost. Any ideas on how to do this automatically? Thanks...
When I do that mine wiggle but there no "x" like there used to be.

Before I upgraded to 8.0 I could double click and see all open Apps and then close them. Now when I double click I am not sure what I am seeing or what to do?
The format keeps changing but the basics remain...in the center of the screen are large images of the recent apps which you can close by swiping up and away.

Adding string methods? not concat
How can I add together strings such as "1" + "2" = "3" not "1" + "2" = "12" if there is no way to do this, how can I convert a string value such as "1" to 1, so I can then add these integers together? Any help is appreciated. thanks, Patrick.
