Open Attachment option in Mail opens incorrect invite in Calendar

My issue: if I double click or use the Open Attachment option in Mail for calendar invites, an invite from 2 years ago opens in Calendar for me to accept. If I use the Add to Calendar function, no problem & reads like it should do.
I upgraded to ML about 2-3 weeks ago and Mail was spectacularly painful with the merge from SL not working at all. Calendar seemed to be ok, however this usse has started to appear in the last 24 hours.
Ivites can be accepted no dram using the iPad or my wifes iPhone just seesm to beon the Mac that its a problem.
Any thoughts/ideas/fixes would be great.
Cheers.

  • Disable attachment option in Mail

For security reasons, I would like to disable the attachment option in the Mail app in iPhone to prevent any data leakages.
Is there such in-built capability or option where I can enforce such policy?

    Thank you, Ralph.
Yes, I tried all of that. The best I could find is Mail > Edit > Attachments > and check "Always Insert Attachments at End of Message." Its better than nothing!

  • I can't use the add attachment options in mail

    Hi all,
Im having a little bit of trouble here. Everything was working fine. but all of a sudden I can't add attachments to an email in Mac mail by using the add attachments shortcut button or by file add attachments.
All that happens is after aproximatley 30 secs the button or 'file' is depressed and i can continue using mail but no attachments window ever appears.
Its not the end of the world as i can still drag and drop files into the email but it can become a pain when having to scroll through the network to find the attachments i require in finder.
    Please Help.
    Ben

Please follow these instructions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
    Quit Mail.
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste (command-V) into the box that opens, then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Relaunch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you'll have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

  • Update reply to invitation in Calendar - Iphone -

I received an email with an invitation as an attachment.
I opened this invitation in "Calendar", but refused in error.
When I tried to opend it again I cannot update the status from "Defclined" to "Accept" (sorry if i am not precise, but i have the iphone set in Italian).
How can I update the reply?
This happened when for the fiorst time i used an icloud Calendar, why this option to accepd didn't appear on "local" calendars?
    Thanks,
    Carlo
Ps. The mail is from an utomated server and the invitation is actually a  memo of a train ticket with codes etc. So i cannot ask the sendender to send it againg.

Logging to icloud.com, i was able to edit the reponse and having udated on my Iphone calendar. But it's so unconvenient. Is there a way to do that in the Calendar app?
Another thing, if i use icloud calendar I have the "Accept" Decline" and "maybe" buttons always visible, whilst using a "local" calendar i don't have them visible, and thati is better because it's harder to tap the reply by accident. Can you hide the rply button once i sent tghe reply?
    Thanks,
    Carlo

    Hello Mats in Sweden!
I'm from Austria, not so far away! The file that you've received seems to be a Windows Media File and you may need a special software for your iPad to be able to open it. I've found something HERE.
If you open this link on your iPad it should take you to the App Store, resp. open it. The price for this app is 1,59 €.

  • How to open a pdf attachment in imac mail

I am unable to open a PDF attachment in Mac Mail. There is not a PDF Icon in the email message. Is there a setting that should be checked?
I have a new iMac (less than a month old) with Mountain Lion.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It is an actual PDF that is an attachment to an email. There is not a link to click on to open the attachment.
The attachment is a statement that I normally open, then print..
What I am seeing on the monitor is the heading portion of the email with the statement image, all on one page..It prints exactly as seen on the screen.
I have checked my Mail>Preferences>Viewing Tab."Display remote images in HTML" messages is checked..
    Thanks for the help.

  • Error while opening PDF attachment sent via mail

    Hi,
I am attaching PDF file to PO in me22n and sending the same file as attachment in the mail to the vendor using class CL_BCS.
The mail is sent to the vendor successfully and they are able to successfully open the PDF attachment. But in some cases the mail is successfully received but while opening the attachment it is giving the error as file is corrupted.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

    Hi,
I would like to know what font type, you are using in the forms.
Ideally it should be HELVETICA .
If you are using any other font in your style/form,try changing it to HELVETICA & Test.
Also Check the OTF data at the call of gen. FM,before converting it to PDF.

  • Cannot attach with the attachment  button in mail. Can drag them in directly.  But they won't open.  or are corrupted

Cannot attach attachments via the attachment button in mail.

    Help!!!

At some point, Apple started doing this annoying stupid thing with certain app updates (among them QuickTime Player, and iTunes, and Mail) where if those apps do not reside in /Applications they will not be updated properly.
Correct. It has always been that way in OS X. Applications, particularly from Apple, belong in the Applications Folder, where update installers can find them and link to associated system files that may be updated as well without you realising it.

  • Can't open documents (doc, pdf, ppt..) attached to e-mail

After updated to iOS5, I can't open any documents (doc, ppt, and pdf) which are attached to e-mail.

Do you have a word processing app on your ipad? Like Documents to go, Pages, Keynote or some such? Without one of those I do not believe the iPad can open document files. If it's something you could do before iOS5 and can't do now it's possible that your word processing program isn't iOS5 compatible and the app creators need to update their product.

  • Opening PDF files attached to e-mails

    Hi there
I experience problems opening pdf attachements to e-mails. I have an error message telling me that the file is damaged and cannot be open.
Nevertheless I can read the exact same attachment from mail on my iPad, I have that problem with my Mac Book Pro only.
I use the Apple Mail software in both cases.
This is recent, no new software installed, and Adobe Reader is up to date on both devices.
Any hint? I'm getting fed up about these Apple specific issues, what a loss of time I've never experienced such things with PCs.
    Eric

Did you find a solution to this issue? I am facing the same problem. It was fine before, suddenly it says that all files are damaged and cannot be opened.
    Thanks so much!

  • Attach to e-mail option mobile app (IOS)

One of our users notified us op the missing option to e-mail a file from the Filr mobile app on iOS. Sure enough Filr let's you open files with just about any app on the device that can handle them but the option 'E-Mail' is missing. It would be a nice option to quickly send a file to someone outside our organisation. Dropbox has that option. Wil Filr 1.1 perhaps make this possible?

I'll have to test the iOS app later, but with the Filr 1.1 Android app
I have the option to "share with" the email app. There's also the new
option to generate a file link, and from the dialog for that I can then
send that via email as well.

    Hi, Dipankar:
Thanks for your reply. But I have no idea about how to group parameter from all uploaded file to "Send an E-Mail in Background with Attachment" CO?
For the situation, I write a background CO program to get all uploaded file (from first three block) and grouping this customized CO parameter with "Send an E-Mail in Background with Attachment" CO.

  • Mail problems,,no attachements options

    HI,
I just started to use iPad 2 And having problems with mail accounts. I am trying to compose mail and I am not getting an option to add or change front, add attachements.... And all the other options associated with creating emails... All I am seeing is to, from, subject . Please help. Thanks

With attachments, you don't add them to the mail as much as you go to where the attachment is stored or the app that manages it and send the attachment to the mail to be mailed.
In other words, I can't go into mail and attach a photo, but I can go into the photo app, choose the photo I want to mail and send it to the mail app to be attached.
The symbol for that is the little box with the little arcing arrow coming out of it.
As to changing fonts, etc, I believe that the options for that are pretty limited on the iPad.
