I'm looking for Open Document Method Passing Parameter and Logoon Toke Examples. Is it possilbe for a user inside the firewall to click a url link with all the logon token and parameters built in using open document method, i have not bee able examples? Thanks

Make sure to apply the latest Patch2.11 and retest.
Also, please state your datasource type. This can influence the syntax (i.e. when passign BEx variable values)
Finally, have you tried the Web (DHTML) editor (bilaunchpad webi preference)? it has an OpenDocument 'wizard' to help you build-up the correct syntax .

I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you.

Unable to open documents in Office (Word and Excel) - 3 authentication prompts followed by 'Could not open ...'

I am getting multiple authentication prompts when I try to open or create a new .docx or .xslx document from SharePoint 2010.
I tried this on different machines and on different browsers (IE and Firefox) and see the same behavior. I am the site collection administrator. I see the same behavior on other sites also. Other users are also seeing the same behavior.
If I download the document, I can open it without any issues.
The Web Application IIS authentication settings is NTLM and Client Integration is enabled.

According to your description, my understanding is that you could not open the documents because of the authentications.
Go to IIS, make sure that the Security TokenServiceApplication pool is started.
Please do as the followings, and compare the result:
Add your site to the Trusted Sites Internet Zone.
Go to Internet Options - Security - Highlight the Trusted Sites Check Mark - click on custom level - scroll to the bottom and in the user authentication section select "Automatic logon with current username and password."
Also, you can do via group policy in DC server.

How to debug PL/SQL functions? Passing parameter and debugger error

Hi,
How to debug a PL/SQL function in JDeveloper? There are two problems with it:
1) Don't see how it's possible to pass parameters required by function call (in the dialog opening after Debug -> Debug FUNCTION_NAME)
2) In a function returning table_name%ROWTYPE (and having a record declaration for table_name%ROWTYPE), debug gives error:
PLS-00103: Encountered symbol "/" when expecting one of ... in line
v_Return PL/SQL RECORD;
Debugging procedures works as expected.

Previous days data based on passing parameter and date

Hi,
i have one rek..that requirement to to show the previous days data based on the number passing to the parameter parameter.
lets suppose if user enters the date '25 Mar 2012 in one dashboard prompt and in another prompt user enters the no.of days(Ex: 5).then report should display the last 5 days data i.e 25 mar 2012,24 mar 2012,23 mar 2012,22 mar 2012,21 mar 2012.
can anybody tell me how can i achieve this..

Webi OpenDocument "Opening Document"

We are trying to run our report from our custom front end application. We are using the OpenDoc syntax. I am able to open the document successfully in the Web Intelligence Rich Client. But, when I call it from the front end, I get the login screen for InfoView; I think I log in, then I get the "Opening Document" pop-up window and it never goes away.
How can I see where the problem exists? Are errors logged anywhere?
Theoretically the error could be URL (constructed by the front end) or the database.
But we are using an ODBC connection to a SQL Server database. I do not see any information in the ODBC trace log either.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

If you are opening from a front end System, That system also contains the Java Virtual machine .
Just check out that one.
Just do one more try
open the same link from the where the BO is installed or where JVM is available. then you observe the difference.
And also you can by pass the user name like this
You can try this
OpenDocument app, here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\OpenDocument\WEB-INF\web.xml"
Open it in notepad and search for the parameter opendoc.authentication.default
And set it here.
Then all open docs URL will use same authenticationu2026.

Cannot open document (Error: INF)

We have migrated reports from version Business Objects 6.5.1 to Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2. We have been receiving sporadic 'Cannot open document (Error: INF)' now and again whenever you open Desktop Intelligence reports using Infoview. Have any other users come across this issue using BOXI 3.1 SP2. I do not believe that this issue occurred on SP1.
This error is very frustrating.
I have browsed various forums and implemented changes which have had no effect whatsoever including the SAP Marketplace.
We are also receiving SetPrompts Failed errors. When a report is opened in Infoview and you refresh a report, a blank dialog appears with a red cross. if you refresh the report again then the SetPrompts Failed error appears. I have evene made changes according to article 1364437 based on this error and this has not resolved the issue.

We're on BOXI3.1 SP2 aswell and we have had the same sporadic issue - Cannot open document for Deski reports. This is causing some serious concern amongst our users over system stability.
You can recreate the situation by shutting down the InputFileRepository server and you get the same message. I've noticed that when this happens there is a mesage in the fcproc log file 'm_repFileMgr.Download failed'
My theory is that there may be some congestion in linking between the desktopintelligence server and the inputfilerepository. In addition, we had some logging on the fileserver and at the time of the error there was no mention of the report that failed or any error. We contacted SAP about this but did not get a satisfactory response. There were some heavily utilised DESKi reports which we managed to convert to Webi to take the load off and we also dropped the timeout to 20 minutes (not brilliant but it did mean that if we got the message the users wouldn't have to wait too long before it was resolved in case they couldn't get hold of IT).
I also upped the parameter for Maximum Retries for File Access in case it was having problems getting the file.
The result of this was that the error appeared to go away... until yesterday!!!
Any further insights welcome.

I have previously been able to open documents in pages, iAnnotate and good reader. For the last week I have not been able to. Drop box also affected. When trying to open a document, the screen pauses and cycles, but nothing happens....please help.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

Table names must be explicitly given when a SQL statement is compiled. That's why I usggested a preliminary query; so by the time you compiled the main query, the table name would be known and could be passed in a substitution variable.
If you really want to do it in one query, you can do a UNION of two queries, one of which returns nothing because of the parameter. It's not very efficient.

Update BP name in open documents - not in Deliveries

today I experimented the new function that lets you update open documents when a Business Partner name is changed. I did this in SBO 8.81 PL04. In OEC Computers, I picked a customer with the following open documents: 2 Deliveries, 2 POs and 6 Opportunities. I changed the BP name and said Yes when asked if I want to update open documents. The POs and Opportunities where all updated, but not the Deliveries.
I was wondering why the Deliveries were not updated. I went across Note #1529237, which states that this function was corrected in 8.8 PL18. The note does not talk about Deliveries. Is it a bug or a feature ?

It is not a bug but a feature. Delivery will affect financial data. That is why you can not update.

Office 2011 not opening documents

I recently installed Office for Mac 2011. I have 2008. The 2011 version does not allow me to open documents on my computer, and it seems to not recognize the Normal template.

Thanks for the reply.The file is not available in the server. Though, I checked CMS and I found an instance in history tab and the status is failed with error below.
Error Message:
A variable prevented the data provider Query 1 with BANRRD30 from being refreshed. (DMA0008).When I checked my codes, I found out that the object Im using is for web intelligence data provider. However, I cannot find any documentation and example for passing parameter values in desktop intelligence data provider. Any idea on this? You think this is not suported by Report Engine SDK?Thanks.

Passing Parameter to XSL document (in XDK forPL/SQL)

Here i' trying to pass parameters to my XSL document.But the value is not getting populated in the final document, can anyone help me on this.,.?

This does not work because of the following two things:

In your stylesheet, you've illegally used <xsl:param> inside a template. You need to switch from the "simple form" of a stylesheet to the "normal form" of the stylesheet to use a top-level parameter. Thank you. This does the job for "opened documents" in TextEdit and other applications. I wish there were a similar method for "open recent" items. Each application (TextEdit, BBEdit etc) seems to handle the "open recent" items in its own way!
