Open e-mail in novel groupwise

Using Groupwise in Safari on iPad how do I double click on a message to open an e-mail message?

hello, there are reports that the foxit pdf plugin is causing this issue. you might want to disable this plugin in firefox > addons > plugin until foxit offers a fix/update for its plugin.

  • Setting up Mail with novell groupwise

I'm trying to set up an account in Mail and I'm getting confused on how to do it. There's just so much stuff out there and they're telling me differnt things. My school used Novell Groupwise. Does anybody know how to set it up?!

I have set up Growl with Leopard, have opened the mail feature in the Extras folder, have tweaked the mail preferences, and yet it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

  • Forwarding e-mail from Novell Groupwise

I have an iPhone 3G. For about the past year, I have had my work e-mail forwarded to my Gmail account for access outside of work. It has worked perfectly. The work e-mail sysyem is Novell Groupwise on a Dell. This past weekend, the e-mail started showing up on my iPhone mail account, using the "Mail" app, with a proper title but showing "This e-mail has no content". My regular Gmail account, using the Gmail app, on my iPhone receives the e-mail with content. I noted that last weekend Microsoft was updated on my work computer. Any ideas what causes this problem, and any solutions?

OK I think I've got an answer.
Forwarding doesn't seem to work because it now seems that Iphone can't pick up forwarded as attachment emails.
If you just forward an eamil not as an attachment it will be ok but the problem is Groupwise when it forwards by rule does it as an attachment.
If you use the delegate option instead of forward it forwards in exactly the same way except not as an attachment so you can see what has been forwarded.
Hope that makes sense - basically use delegate not forward!

How do I go about setting up my work e-mail? It is through a server called Novel Groupwise Webmail and I can't seem to figure it out. Is this server even compatible?

  • Export Mail Address to GroupWise

    Hello,
I have a customer at Santa Clara University who wants to change from a Mac to a PC go figure! He is currently using Apple Mail and wants to export his e-mail addresses to GroupWise (Novell) on the PC. Can you tell me what he would need to do in order to export his addresses? I know GroupWise is a proprietary e-mail application, but what about maybe into Entourage or Outlook? Is there even a script the customer can run?
    Can someone let me know.
    Thank you
    Phil

I updated the script. It now creates a text file on your Desktop. Simple open "Apple Script Editor", cut & paste this into the text area and hit the Run button.
set the_file to ((path to desktop as text) & "test.txt")
set crlf to (ASCII character 13) & (ASCII character 10)
    try
set dataStream to open for access file the_file with write permission
set eof of dataStream to 0
    tell application "Address Book"
    repeat with aPerson in people
log ("Person : " & name of aPerson)
repeat with anEmail in emails of aPerson
log ("eMail : " & value of anEmail)
write ("<"" & crlf) to dataStream as text
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end tell
    close access file the_file
    on error
    try
    log ("Error")
    close access file the_file
    end try
    end try

  • Does iPhone calendar sync with Calendar in Novell GroupWise?

My business calendar is on Novell GroupWise; will the iPhone sync with this calendar if I set up iTunes on my office PC?

Here is an update for anyone who has a similar problem. I worked with our IT guy for most of a week. I also used this thread and a conversation with the iPhone call in support. Alexander at iPhone support really took time and consulted others. No one could come up with a solution. Finally, the IT guy and I found a computer in our office that was still using GW 6.5. After adding Outlook 2003 and iTunes, the sync worked. We then stripped Groupwise, Outlook, all the .ics files and profiles, and iTunes from my computer. We added GW 6.5, Outlook 2003 and iTunes that order. The sync worked. We added GW 7 to the other computer and got the orginal error message about the file store. In adding GW 7 to the other computer, the IT person noticed that GW 7 gives a notice tha GW 7 is changing some files. We then added the GW 7-Outlook Connector. The connector allowed Outlook to open and see the GW 7 calendar. However, ITunes could not sync the iPhone with Outlook. Even completely stripping iTunes completely and reinstalling did not allow Outlook to sync through iTunes to the iPhone. I am back to using 6.5. My conclusion is that GW7 makes changes in the files that do not allow syncing to an iPhone at present in Window XP. I cannot speak to whether it would work on a Mac. This is an issue that Apple needs to address (are you listening Apple?)

  • Mac compatibility with 'Novell Groupwise' PC network

    Hi all
I'm currently working on a PC, but my company is 'looking into' buying me and my colleague Macs (We're the Graphic Designers for a large organisation).
I've worked on Macs for 15+ years. However, the company uses 'Novell Groupwise' for all its e-mails and network stuff.
They are very nervous about Macs, and wouldn't want one on the network, which would make sending/receiving e-mails and printing to network printers next to impossible!
We could use a USB printer, but we also have large format stuff, which is network only.
Does anyone have any experience of using a Mac on a Novell network?
I'd welcome any information, as I would like to be able to have some definitive stuff to go to the bosses with to try to convince them that Macs aren't poisonous and likely to infect the rest of the system!

    Hi Mikey.
First: sorry for my bad english
After years i work with a MacMini in a PC Network organisation.
Our mail server is a Novell Groupwise 7.x.
    I have 3 choices:
    1. Groupwise client 7.0.3 (a Java client similar to PC Client).
    2. Groupwise web Access (web client)
    3. PC Groupwise client in a virtual machine with VMWare or Parallel.
My MacMini is a 1gb machine and my light solution is 2.
    Unlikely GWclient doesn't support notifications.
I'm in network and smb connection works well.
So.. i support our graphics minds all in mac.
In august is my first birthday with mac at work
    Hope this can help you.

  • Novell Groupwise 8.0

At my work we use a e-mail system called Novell Groupwise 8.0. We are allowed to check e-mails at home either by using a web version of this or simply downloading the program from the website at the job. I prefer using the program that you can download because it works better.
When I bought the Imac I tried downloading the version for Macs. I downloaded, followed the instructions and was able to install. There's a problem though once I tried signing on I kept getting a message stating: "Cannot Launch Java Application: Uncaught exception in main method: Java.lang.nullpointer exeception". Anyone familiar with this issue? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it a dozen of times but I still get the same thing. Also, when this happen I have to force quit groupwise because it just doesn't close.
I did put in a work ticket at my job on their IT site but I figured I post this here since they tend to take forever.

    Good day
We use GW 6,7 and going to 8 throughout our company. When we started to rollout Intel based macs, the software was available to download but the exact same java exception errors occurred. We noticed some macs had an older java client installed and the software would launch. This lead us to believe Novell was producing their software on older non-apple patched systems. The software would only run if your system matched theirs software level for level.
We approached Novell and they recompiles the java application again using newer java and the problems was solved. The updates received were tiny upgrades to the web posted version. Contact them of have your IT Support do so and request a newer version.
    Take care

  • Novell Groupwise Setup for iPhone

I have finally set up my iPhone to receive e-mail from my Novell Groupwise 7.0 mail system. To accomplish this, I used IMAP, entered my server's host name, my user name and password as requested. The hangup appears to have been that my server did not allow me to send mail via the phone since the phone is on another network (ATT's) than the mail server and relaying was prohibited. For the outgoing settings, I entered the generic ATT smtp host name of cwmx.com with no user name or password entered.
I disabled the wireless connection to make my initial account connection and to establish the account verification. I did this because I understand that cwmx.com only works on the EDGE network. Also, while trying to set up the iPhone mail account on wireless, if you don't have all the settings correct, or can't make the full verification of both incoming and outgoing, you will get a verification failure.
Once I took these steps, I was able to immediately connect. This connection created the account on my mail application so that I could then go deeper into advanced settings. I ensured that SSL was turned off. I saw that the incoming port was set to 143. The Apple technician had suggested using the default setting of 110, however, this did not work for me. When I reverted to 143, it worked immediately. The smtp port was set automatically to the default :25
I was able to receive all my work mail, and was able to send myself a reply using the EDGE network. When I then connected to wireless, I was also able to receive an e-mail. However, when I replied using wireless, the e-mail did not send, as expected. Once it failed, I found the message in the outbox and expect that once I disable wireless, or am on the EDGE network naturally, it will send. As I type this, I am on the EDGE network and the phone indicates that it is 'connecting', so I may still have some bugs to work out, but at least 60 messages came through from the server when I had not been able to connect ever before.

I have similar settings for Groupwise at work, I believe. What you posted is similar to what I see when I try to log in and it fails. It gives me a manual log in screen which has the :1677 portion.
I'm not a tech guy, I just worked with my tech guy to figure out that our Gwise server (for a city government) wouldn't allow me to access it remotely to send an e-mail so we had to trick the phone into using the ATT outgoing server to send an e-mail.
Once I had my account set up, I was able to create an account for a colleague while she was trying to access her account on her Treo. While she was fiddling with it, I duplicated my settings with her account name and password and it immediately worked on my phone with her account.
Our settings are IMAP. We didn't have to use the 10.21.1.20 type of settings at all.
As I re-read your post, it's not clear if you are using the wireless connection or if you are on the edge network. I couldn't get the account to connect initially until I disabled wireless within the settings section. Once I did that, it connected, created the validation and gave me an established account under the mail tab. Once I had that, I could go into the advanced settings and disable SSL, etc.
Now, I seem to be able to receive Groupwise e-mail through wireless connections, but have to be on the EDGE network to send.

  • UCCX with Novell GroupWise

    Hi,
I use integration UCCX with Novell GroupWise. All the abilities has working good. But sometimes, when i send e-mail to customer, I have double mails...
    Why is this happening?
    Thanks
    Sergei

    Hi Gergely,
    UCCS Version 8.5.1 SU1
    UCCX Premium ( not UCCE)
Unfortunately, I do not know what it is a problem. When i send email (answer) to a customer, it is duplicated. But it happen sometimes, about 7 out of 10 sendings. First, I thought that the problem is WAN, because of EMAIL Server and UCCX are in deferent cities, perhaps it is problem in network.
Last week, I used other EMAIL Server in the same city as UCCX (LAN), but that problem happened again

this is probably best asked in the GW forum... and ZFH is only management
not really access to other novell products..

  • Novell groupwise email wont work on playbook

My school uses novell groupwise for emails. My account easily works on my BlackBerry phone, but it gives errors on the playbook when setting up the account. Anybody know how to get it to work? Maybe how i can get any extra informaition i need about the account to sync it on my playbook.

    Hi burton21
I would recommend contacting the IT department to verify the server settings. The following article will also assist in getting your email account configured on your BlackBerry® PlayBook™.

  • Synching itouch with novell groupwise

Our university uses Novell groupwise email. We are contemplating purchasing itouch for our nursing students but wonder about whether we will be able to use groupwise. any advice?

I have set up my Novell Groupwise account at two separate Universities (I study at one, work at the other) and both work fine with the Touch mail program - no need to use the web interface. You may need some help from your IT department to get port numbers or server addresses but the Touch does auto-detect quite well.
To sync calendars and things, you will need to have outlook installed on your computer and set up to access your Groupwise server - easy enough - as the Touch syncs with Outlook. Interesting thing is that you don't have to every USE Outlook, just make sure it is set up to access data from your GroupWise account.
I wish Apple would include direct GroupWise conduit!

  • Novell Groupwise email access

I know this isn't exactly an Apple question, but I imagine others have had similar trouble. I was recently granted a university email account with access only through Novell Groupwise webmail (V 7.0). I can't stand logging into the webmail, so I'm trying to add the account to my Mail application, and thus my iPhone as well. I can't figure out what protocol is being used, nor can I determine any server settings. Their IT department appears to be non-existent. Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

Take a look at this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5964059&#5964059
You'll need the appropriate server information from the university.
