Open ePrint from a web link?

Hello,
I'm looking for a way to open ePrint (app) from an iPhone via its web browser (Safari) when a link gets clicked. Is there any built in tags\parameters that would allow the ePrint app to open if a link was clicked with a specific parameter?

Only a few file formats can be opened and displayed in a Web browser. These files can only be viewed or saved to the local drive.
In order to be used by other applications the file must be downloaded to the local machine and then opened.

  • Accessing a schedule from a web link

    Hi All,
    Is there any way I can open a schedule from a web link?  I can see that there is a Java Class involved to get the BPC for Excel to run and I'm assuming it'll be a small addition to that.  I'm struggling to get it working though so if anyone else has done this I'd be most appreciative of some assistance.
    Basically what I am trying to do is link schedules to a website in the same way they are linked in a BPF.
    Thanks

    Just a few clarification statements. You are trying to build a web page that resides outside the BPC framework that will call various Excel based files/templates upon click, correct?  I assume each user that has access to this web page would then have BPC for Excel as a client?  If yes, then had you considered using a Custom Menu?  That allows you to build lists of access points to templates, in excel, that may look like the web as well?
    Otherwise, I have never been able to query a template from a web connection.  I think I would need the code used for the query, similar to either the BPF code, or what is built into the Custom Menu coding, but is locked from view.
    Hope this helps.

         How can I download a .pdf document from a web link without Adobe Reader starting automatically and preempting the download?

    That depends on your operating system and browser.  On Windows, e.g. using Firefox, you right-click on the link, then select 'Save link as...'.

  • Open file from a web page?

    I would like to create links to some files that will open in their proper application when I click links on the web page. Is there a simple way to open a file from a regular href web link?
    If I put in a posix path of the network file that I want to open, the finder will open a window and show you the file, but the file does not open.

  • Opening pdfs from the web

    Hello,
    I am having a wierd issue with pdfs from the web.  I have adobe acrobat pro 9 (patched up to date) and I have enabled the 'do not open in browser' setting.  When I click a pdf link, it opens acrobat 9 as it should but the file name/file type is not .pdf.  I do not have reader installed and cannot figure it out.  The main issue is when I click the email link, it sends the link for the unknown file rather than the .pdf as I intended.
    The short term work around is to save as and reopen the newly saved .pdf.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Go to Adobe Acrobat Reader Preferences and, under Internet, it asks if you want to display PDFs in Acrobat Reader (or Acrobat Pro, etc.). If checked, uncheck the box. Then CTRL-click on a PDF file and select "Open With". If you hold down the Option key at this point, this Open With" will change to "Always Open With". Select Preview. That should do it. Watch out for Reader or some other Adobe programs that ask if you want to make Reader the default PDF viewer when you open them. Always answer "NO".

  • How to prevent mail from breaking web links into multiple lines?

    Hey all!
    When I send someone a long web link that is pretty long, Mail breaks it into several lines and at the end the user cannot use this link right away, he needs to "assemble it by parts" first.
    Is there a way to prevent mail from doing this?
    Thanks,
    Artemiy.

    Also you could use tinyurl - this is exactly what its designed for.
    ie
    Turn this URL:

  • How can I prefill an xdp file from a web link

    Hi
    Prior to using LifeCycle Designer, there was a means to use a document javascript to parse through a url and set values of a PDF with the url's parameters.
    Now with LifeCycle Designer, that document level javascript is gone.
    So how do I have a list of web links that point to my xdp file, but each has parameters that I want to pass into the xdp before it ones?  Things like firstname lastname,etc.
    I am not using LifeCycle Server.

    You can't. PS doesn't do SVG and even if it did, it wouldn't retain SO vectors in teh way you probably expect it to. That's simply not how SVGs work. You will have to use Inkscape, Illustrator or otehr tools, if you realyl need vector SVGs.

  • Unable to open PDF from IE web pages

    Windows 7, IE 11, Adobe Reader XI
    I have no problem opening same when using Chrome so there must be some setting that I've failed to find in IE. I've reinstalled AR several times and adjusted as many IE settings as I've found suggestions for in the forum and elsewhere. Obviously, it's a real pain to have to go to Chrome every time I want to save a statement.
    What would you suggest I try next?

    Thanks to those who made suggestions. THE PROBLEM IS NOW, magically, FIXED.
    Yesterday I, once again, opened AR from the desktop icon. Then I selected Repair Adobe Reader Installation and followed the steps to do that. I have successfully opened and saved all online the PDF statements that I have tried since.
    Obviously the problem was with AR 11.0.10 and the repair (finally) worked.
    I just noticed, as I mentioned above the installed version is now different than the version I was having the problem with.

  • Opening a pdf from a web link

    I recently installed Acrobat Pro in both my IMac and MacBook Pro. When I click on a hyperlink with a .pdf extension, nothing happens - blank screen. When I used Acrobat 8, I had no such problem.

    What browser are you using?

  • When I click file- new tab, or the + to open a new tab, nothing happens. The only way I can open a new tab is to right click from a web link. Additionally, this only happens for 1 of the 3 users of this laptop.

    I am running version 3.6.15

    That can a problem with the Ask<i></i>.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

  • Open Document from a webi report

    Hi
    I am trying to open the webi document from a report and the data source is BW , can u guys help me out and give me the syntax
    thanks

    Hello,
    There no fine-grained control over the "Document Properties" frame specific to visibility of the "Created by:" field displayed, either in the Java Report Panel or DHTML Interactive Editor Extension Points.
    You can try editing the Interactive Editor JSP file that controls that panel - it's relatively straightforward - but that would take your deployment out of support.
    One way for definiteness would be - instead - to modify the "createdby" Web Intelligence document property to something else, using ReportEngine Java SDK:
    documentInstance = reportEngine.openDocument(id);
    properties = documentInstance.getProperties();
    properties.setProperty(PropertiesType.AUTHOR, "pookie");
    documentInstance.setProperties(properties);
    documentInstance.save();
    Of course, this isn't what you want if you want to keep the "Created by:" field, but merely prevent it from being displayed in the viewers.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Opening pdf from harddisk with link

    Can i set a link to a pdf-file on my harddisk in my keynote presentation? or to another document?
    I am sure this question has been answered a thousand times, but i couldnt find it. sorry.

    No, you can't. Well, I should say not in an easy user friendly way. Keynote allows you to link via http: which then opens Safari so if you turn on web sharing, point the http: link to localhost and your sites directory and place a file there then Safari would pop up, download the file then Preview would pop up and....
    whew! This IS easier in PowerPoint because it allows direct linking to documents, Keynote doesn't. You CAN have the pdf's already open before starting your presentation and then view them that way. A little more elegant than the above.
    Another question, is this meant to be a kiosk type thing for people to play around with or are you using the PDF in the presentation?

    Mike,
    It looks like ni.com is not supplying that particular console object which is causing an issue with the embedded instance of IE9. Every other website I've tried works correctly. I've looked around the ActiveX methods to intercept and ignore this error, but I haven't found anything yet.

  • Problems opening PDF files/folders/web links please help

    I have Windows XP, run Internet Explorer 7 and have Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
    Now please understand that I am not terribly computer literate to I will do the best I can to describe my problem.
    When I click on a link on a web page that requires Adobe Reader to view the new page, the new page is opened in Microsoft Word and of course is all jumbled.
    So to actually be able to open and view the page I have to right click the link, click Save As, save it to a folder, left click Open Folder then Right click the document and choose Open With Adobe Reader 8.
    So my question is how can I set the computer/Adobe Reader/ or whatever to automatically open things that require Adobe Reader to be viewed to open in Adobe Reader and not Microsoft Word.
    Many thanks to anybody who can help me.

    I also have Windows XP, run Internet Explorer 7, and have Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
    Melissa is more computer literate than I am so bear with me and provide me with all the help you can.
    My problem is that when I click on a new link on a web page to view or fill up or print a document, sometimes the document or the link will open and other times it will not open at all. What can I do to rectify this problem?
