Open few pages in opera always hang

i'm using this opera version. when i open few website, after opera cpu usage high. can't normal close opera. always need to force kill. i remember before "pacman -Syu", my opera is ok. after "pacman -Syu", always opera few pages then hang.
did anyone got this problem?:|

this has been going on for months. I've reinstalled safari a few times. No luck. If I have more that one tab open or click a hyperlink to open a new page it crashes. I've looked through the other posts that seems similar, but I don't have a file called "input manager" in my library, so I'm not sure how to fix this. It looks like you've just been looking in the wrong location:

You've probably been looking under your Home folder, where these are at the top level of the hard drive. I.e.:
Hard drive > Library (anything in here applies to ALL user accounts)
and not
Hard drive > Users > Your Username > Library (anything in here only applies to your account)
Remove the 2 folders I highlighted above and you should be good to go.

Cannot add much more to the question. The bar appears below the toolbars and above the open page, at the right of the bar it has a button which says Allow? Would hope there is an answer to the question Regards Vivien

All browsers hang after opening a few pages

Hi,
I'm using a MacBook pro with OS 10.6.8 with 4 GB of ram and a 319 GB hard drive showing 71 GB still available. On both safari and Firefox, after I open a couple of pages in either browser, pages stop loading. They get hung up and never load. If I restart, I can visit a few pages again and then it hangs up again. After searching for solutions, I have emptied my cache and added two open source DNSs. Neither helped. Also downloaded sophos home for Mac and scanned for malware and it found none. Any suggestions?

Dies after first few pages open

Everything works perfectly for the first few pages I open. After a few web pages are viewed it stalls trying to load a page and then nothing will load unttl I quit Safari and restart it. Then it works fine again for a few pages and stalls again. It doesn't matter where I browse. I'm always just a few links away from a total hang-up. All the menus still work. I can cancel the stalled page load. It doesn't help, nothing will oad once the stall ocurs until I quit and restart Safari. Very frustrating.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling three times. Same problem every time. I've never loaded more than 4 or 5 web pages without getting stuck like this.
I thought this might be a known bug, but I haven't seen anyone else complaining of this here or in any other forum.
Can anyone explain what could be causing this?

I just wanted to ask one more time about this persistent bug. The laptop this is happening on is a three month old Dell Latitude D620 with Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office, and very little else installed. It's a pretty clean machine as far as I can tell. I've been studying this discussion forum every day and I can't find another complaint that resembles this behavior. Lots of people seem to have font compatibility problems, blank menus, commands that don't work, internet access getting flipped off, and crashes galore, but no one else has reported this weird problem with Safari consistently appearing to completely lose the ability to load any pages without a restart. I am a Mac user at home and a Windows user at work, so I would love to have Safari working on my office laptop. The problem isn't caused by the company network, because the same thing happens when I bring the laptop home and try it. All the fonts, menus, commands, etc. seem to be working perfectly. It just doesn't want to browse the internet for more than a few pages. In other words it's a browser that doesn't like to browse, even while IE is working just fine.
So before I give up on this forever, I will try asking this question: Has anyone out there had any similar experience with Windows Safari, or am truly I the only one out there with this type of Safari problem?

Safari prefs open Pages in Tabs "Always" not working??

For some reason Safari "open pages in tabs"+"always" setting has just stopped working. Tabs can be created by opt-clicking, or from within the tab menu bar but NOT by clicking on a link in a page - which it used to. I have deleted Safari plist and cache but no luck. I have made numerous changes in the prefs menu and saved and reset and relaunched Safari but it does not work. I used to be able to open every link into a new tab just by clicking but this has just stopped happening and there was no new software added to Safari. Restart of machine does not help either. Reinstalling the same version of Safari would have no effect. What I'm asking is whether there was a change in the behavior of the same version (not the same copy.) If there was, please link to a page that exhibits the change and specify exactly what it is.
It's normal for Safari not to open all links in a new window, regardless of settings. The effect of that setting is to open pages in a new window when the page code calls for them to open in a new tab. That's all.

Mac won't open pages in browsers. Chrome and Firefox won't open any pages - Safari will only open a selected few.

I've had some strange browser issues, with Conduit being added to Chrome (which I've tried to remove via the browser settings). Chrome will open my Gmail account but no ther pages. Firefox won't open anything. Safari opens a few pages (this forum thankfully) but is very selective.
Google is returning results to me via Google.es rather than Google.co.uk
I can use all browsers freely on other devices on home network (although Google.es has popped up on my iPhone now). I've run anti-virus software which hasn't picked up any problems. I've tried uninstalling Chrome and Firefox, but am unable to do so.
Any help or guidance would be really, really appreciated.

My iMac just crashed, and I had some documents open in Pages that were unsaved. Is there a temporary file or backup file that I can access as on a PC? (I have just looked in Timemachine which I had operating, but it did not seem to have any temp files).

If you didn't save, nothing is recoverable.
iWork apps don't create temp files so, as far as you on't save something, Time Machine can't archive it.

Put your first emphasis on memory. Don't even consider 2 GB.
Second, maximize your SSD size according to the ability of your wallet. Lastly is your processor.
For what you describe the MBA is plenty fast.

Always open with Pages '09 doesn't work? (Pages 3.0)

i have a copy of Pages '09 and a copy of Pages 3.0 on my MBP. unfortunately my Mac Pro only goes up to Lion so i cannot use 3.0 and this machine cannot /read/ 3.0 pages document.
consequently, i would like to almost always open Pages documents with the 09 version or i would like to temporarily unload 3.0 so that i don't end up with a mess of files that only open on my laptop.
unfortunately when i right click on a PAGES document and go to PAGES 09 and check "Always Open With" - this single document opens with pages 09 but other pages documents seem to open with pages 3.0.
am i missing something here or is this the intended implementation? i mean, can i set pages documents on this computer ot always open with 09 unless i manually tell it to open with 3.0 or am i somehow supposed to tell every pages file on my HD to open with 09 (which is obviously not workable).
any ideas on what i am missing or if my system is acting buggy.

somehow i forgot this fact.
does seem like for new users they could put a prompt in Open With Other to direct people to Get Info and in Get Info they could put a prompt to direct people to Open With Other in the event one has one workflow need as opposed to the other. this is a pretty basic user need, there is nothing obvious in the prompts that tells you what in fact you are doing, and even after having been back on the mac for a number of years now it is not one i remember even when working in the UI.

After I have opened a page in a new window Firefox after a few secs return to the previous page.

I click on a link in one page to open another page in a new window. This happens and I am brought to the new window, but after 1-3 secs I am brought back to the original window.
To go to the new window I have to move the cursor to the list at the bottom of the screen and click on the entry for the new window.
This behavior started a few weeks ago (say early September).
The problem is consistent.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Safari hangs while opening specific page

So when I try to open one specific page (which is working because I could open it with Google Chrome) safari hangs in the middle of the blue bar and I can't open any other pages, it's like the internet had stopped working
I already tried to reset it, deleted the files in the hidden library, disable plugins etc

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem? After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it. *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. Step 2 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. Test while in safe mode. Same problem?

Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo.
