Open file in Netscape (or SeaMonkey) Composer window

anyone know a script for this?

swanker,
so, "keystroke e using command down" prompts SeaMonkey to open in Composer?
The command "open theFile" actually causes the chosen file to open in SeaMonkey Navigator. The command *keystroke "e" using command down* then simulates using Navigator's keyboard shortcut, ⌘E, located under File menu > Edit Page. This command can be used for any page opened in Navigator.
sometimes it works and some times it does not... must be something with the delay command
"delay 2" was the minimum delay time I was able to get away with, as "delay 1" would occasionally cause the script to fail. You might try increasing it to "delay 3" and see if that makes a difference. Keep in mind that not all files will open in SeaMonkey Composer -- a Safari web archive, e.g. would not open for me. I only had success opening html files.
Thanks for posting back; Good luck.

  • Saving and Opening files from Flash Drive Mac to Windows Computer

    Hi!
I recently purchased a generic Flash drive (2gb). I am having problems saving things on it. Sometimes when i drag a file to the flash drive icon it doesn't load properly or transfers well. I try opening it and it says: "FILE ERROR
Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn't recognize." Some documents do open well. I also tried opening files on a windows computer and it says it has to be formated. I format it and of course everything deletes.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks

    OK. I did.
But here is the problem, it still doesn't save certain file on the flash drive. Most of the files are either jpg.,cwk.,pdf., or mov.
The mov. won't even play. It works fine when i save files from a windows computer, but not when i save from my mac.
I really have no idea why its doing this. I am aware that certain file can't be opened from a mac to a window, but i just don't know why, when i place a file into the flash drive icon and try to re-open it, it says the error message again (On my mac).
    Thanks.

  • "Open file location" option from the search window replaces the search window to open the file location

After searching for  some files, when I right click on any file from the search window and click "open file location", the file location is opened in the same search window there by detroying my search. In Vista this option would open the file location in a separate window. This is really annoying if I want to open locations of several files from the search window.

The more thorough explanation of how to do this is right-click the item then CTRL-Left Click "Open file Location". This will open it in a new window.
I agree that Microsoft makes unnecessary changes to the operating system which cause it to behave less productively. The search is an important part of an operating system and Microsoft managed to make it the worst part.
Bring back the XP search option. I'm very sad so see this terribly executed search is still the norm in Windows 8.
To put it bluntly, I don't use Windows by choice, it's my job to deal with it.

  • Cannot open files created in shared folders by Windows 7

    Hi.
I've been having issues with my shared folders.
My scenario is that I primarily work on my Windows 7 machine and save a copy on my MacBook so I can work on the same file when I'm out and about. I have no issue saving the files, or even browsing the shared folders on my MacBook. I can create, edit, save and delete files in the shared folder from my Windows machine without problem. The issue is that I'm unable to open any of the files created by Windows on my MacBook; it shows a prompt saying "You do not have permission to open document (filename)." I can't even see the thumbnails of image files created by Windows.
On the MacBook there is only one Standard user account which I use to login, and one Sharing Only account which I use to connect from the Windows machine with Read/Write permissions granted on my shared folders. The WINS workgroup has also been set to the same value as on the Windows machine.
I am able to move the files to Trash, but that's all I can do to them, which defeats the entire purpose of me having a portable computer. My shared folders were setup when I was still on Snow Leopard and had no issues before.
It's a hassle to have to bring a USB drive around to my meetings, and I'm completely clueless on what actions I must take to rectify this issue. Anyone out there ever have this issue? Any and all help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

CR 8.5 is not supported on 64 bit OS's or ANY Terminal Servers.
The location for 32 bit applications on a 64 bit OS is \windows\syswow64.

  • Cannot create/open files in CS5 for Mac, no windows pop up

Hi there, I am extremely frustrated and in need of some help. I have CS5 for my Mac (running on OSX 10.7.5) and I cannot get any windows to open. If I open the program, go to File > New and try to create something when I hit OK there is no new blank window popping up. Over on the right hand side there is a layer for background but no window. If I try to drag a file into Photoshop, it will show the layers on the dashboard along the side but the file doesn't actually pop up. Has anyone else had this issue? Could someone please help me out?
    Thanks!

  • Photoshop CC opens files at 100% but at 50% window size. Bug?

    Hi all,
Since I updated to CC I've had a bug that drives me a little nuts. Because I have a Retina MacBook Pro connected to an Apple Thunderbolt display, Photoshop seems to get confused about the size of the window to open. It thinks it should be sized to fit on the Retina screen (which I use as secondary), but at 100% on the non-retina screen (the primary display). The end result is that every time I open a document the window is only showing the top quarter of the document I'm opening. I always have to hit command plus, command minus to get it displaying right.
Is this a known bug? Is there a fix planned?
    Cheers,
    Arlo

Once again... a but that Adobe ignores and it's been a year since discovery. Thanks to Creative Cloud, Adobe can speed bug fixes to it's user base fast response and incremental releases... no... Thanks to Creative Cloud, I can no longer open my PSD files if I decide to stop renting it from Adobe. Microsoft, meet Adobe. Adobe, meet Microsoft. You two were made for each other.
I'll probably get a response (as I did to my last bug report), that it's Apple's bug - and Adobe has reported it and awaits a fix... 1 year later. Not buying it.

  • Problem open file using Virtualized Office 2007 on Windows 7

    Hi,
Need some pointers here. I have virtualized MS Office 2007 and register it with xreg. All seem fine when i launch the apps from the All Programs menu.
However, when i try to open any of the office files such as doc or excel, i got the following error.
"The applicate has encountered an error. This action is only valid for the products that are currently installed. (0x80070645)"
But if i launch Ms Word (from All Programs), and open via File > Open > and select the desired file - it works.
Seem to me that the xreg doesn't really associate the file correctly.
Even though the file shows as the correct ms icon for either ms word or excel?
I dont encounter this same problem on a XP machine.
    Help please.

  • Folder appears in Windows Explorer, but not in the Open File dialog

    Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, please let me know where is.
A friend just showed me a weird problem he is having with his computer. He is using Windows 7 pro, and has a folder under My Documents, in which he keeps his work files. He emails these files using Gmail, which he accesses via Internet Explorer.
All worked fine until a few days ago, when he noticed that when he clicked the link in Gmail to attach a file, his folder wasn't listed in the Open File dialog. He looked in Windows Explorer, and could see the folder OK. I tried opening Word and using the Open
File dialog there, and the folder wasn't visible.
If he clicks in the address bar, and adds the folder name to the path, it opens the folder, but shows it as empty. I actually has two subfolders. If he adds the name of a subfolder, then the Open File dialog shows the files in that folder.
I checked the permissions on the folder, and couldn't see anything odd. What I don't understand is how the folder can be visible in Windows Explorer, and not in the Open File dialog.
    Anyone any ideas? Thanks

    http://dotnetwhatnot.pixata.co.uk/

I can confirm - I'm having the exact same problem.
When I try to lookup or save a file from an IE file dialog some folders do not show up. I can type the folder name into the directory field and it then goes there, but this assumes you know the directory name and it's a PITB.
Firefox can browse to the directory directly.
It would be interesting if anyone else found a fix for this - I'll post here again if I find out more somewhere else, but there are not too many threads out there as far as I have found for now.
Found a solution over at answers at Microsoft dot com. (can post links here yet - will update once I can)
In short: There's a fast fix for this issue by resetting a hidden flag that IE sets for some folders. I believe this part of the "protected mode" feature, though I can't confirm and also have no idea how this would protect me from any intruders,
if only (unimportant) subfolders are protected ...
Anyway - if you know the name of the missing folder (e.g. from browsing the directories form windows explorer): in the parent directory that has the folder missing do a Search (in box at top right) for the missing
folder name. In my case the hidden folder shows up in the search - now right click -> Properties -> clear hidden flag. Note: this "hidden" flag is independent of the flags set in windows explorer - that's why you have trouble going there with IE and not
the file explorer from the desktop.

  • How can I view open files?

I am trying to view currently open files as I can do in Windows 7 by hovering over the task bar items. How do I see a list of currently open files on the mac without closing or minimizing the window I am using?

Not having windows, I am not sure what you are after, exactly.
    What OS are you using?
To pretty much see all open files...
In Snow Leopard you can use Expose.
    Mac 101: Exposé
In Lion you can use Mission Control.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/mission-control.html
In either, if you want to see what files are open only for a given application, you can click and hold on the appropriate dock icon.

  • PLEASE HELP! Unable to render any Quicktime format - after effects error unable to open file (-1610153459)

I just can't render any type of Quicktime file in AE CC 2014. I'm on Windows 8.1.
Even in CS6 was it not possible, but I never really used any Quicktime filetypes.
Normally I just rendered to .h264, but now that's only available via the insane slow Adobe Media Encoder, I want to use the Quicktime -> h.264 option, but it's just not possible.
I also want to render some footage to the Avid DNxHD codec, but this is also not possible.
Doesn't matter what type of footage, dslr footage, pictures, AE solids. Everytime I want to render in a Quicktime file I get this error:
AE error: Rendering error while writing to file (File-Location). Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Installed the latest Windows version of Quicktime, didn't help...
I saw some topics about this, but they didn't provide a good solution. All they discussed was the hardware of the computer. I have enough space available and render to a NTFS drive.
Please can someone help me with this!

Yes! I just solved my own problem. I still think that the internet doesn't provide an easy to find answer, so I will post this.
I had the latest version of Quicktime, but this version causes the problem. After some searching I finally found a page on the Apple website that confirms this.
Updating to QuickTime 7.4 may cause issues while rendering footage in Adobe After Effects - Apple Support
So I uninstalled my latest version of Quicktime and installed version 7.4.1. Everything works now the way it's supposed to!

  • Open file-download window from servlet

    Hi all,
This is the scenario I'm trying to achieve:

              - the file-download pop-up window should appear,so the user can save the

  • Opening file in a new tab/window

    Hi,
I have a form (HTML added through a widget) and a number of images on one page. I want each image to be a link to a file, where the images will be seen full quality. however, doing this takes visitors away from the page instead of opening a new tab/window - then clicking back means that the form data is lost - i.e. tickboxes are no longer ticked, etc.
I cannot use the photo viewing page included in iWeb, as the pictures will then overlap with my form because the enlarged images are loaded on the same page.
I hope this makes sense, and if anyone could help with opening files in new tab/window it would be great, or a way of opening a photo viewing platform in a separate tab/window directly from a click of one of the photos. I have seen other sites - http://www.aroundthebusch.com/Folio/London%20to%20Istanbul.html
(this is not mine) where the photo viewing "platform" is IDEAL. I would love something just like this if someone could advise.
i do not want the photos to link to an external page (which can be opened in a new window) as it would mean me creating separate pages for each picture, and linking them all... no way!
Also, it would obviously be preferable to be quick to set up, but also to change. I would need to have multiple pages of many photos, each with the viewing facilities so it could not take a long time to set up. I may also need to add/delete some photos, so if all the linking work was done automatically it would be fantastic.
    Any help much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance, James

  • How can I put OSX 10.7 on a new Macbook Air. Maverick no longer allows "open file in a new window" and I really miss it. At the Apple Store they told me it can't be added to the new OSX 10.10 so I  want to change the OSX on the new Macbook Air and it

I have been using a 2012 Mac pro to do HD video editing. I bought a new portable Macbook Air only to find that Maverick no longer has "open files in a new window" which I use all the time in the very large folders of video clips and royalty-free music. I asked at the Apple Store how I could get this back on the Macbook Air and they said it couldn't be done so I thought I would re-format the HD and install 10.7 on it and was notified by the Macbook Air I can't put 10.7 on that computer. Apple use to give this as an option but now they have gone more to the attitude of "Do it our way or go to ****!" In anger I went out and bought a Dell Laptop and Pinnacle Studio 17 which I have been learning to use. I have been an Apple/Mac user since 1979 and would still rather do my video editing on a Mac. Is there any way that I can force the Macbook Air to let me load in OSX 10.7 where there is still the option to  "open files in a new window" or is there a way to add this to Maverick? The experts at the Madison, WI Couldn't give me any help on this.

Choose Preferences from the Finder menu, click on the General tab, and uncheck the box to open folders in a new tab.
