  • Form Builder crashes while saving .fmb file when connected to db

    Hi,
I am getting error The instruction at "0x679c352c" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be "read".
Forms version is 6.0.8.11.3 and database version is 10.2.0.3.0
I am doing the following steps:
    1) Open .fmb file in forms builder
    2) Connecting to database
    3) Making some changes in form
    4) Compiling (Ctrl+Shift+K) and generating form (Ctrl+t)
    5) Saving form <--- Here I am getting the error and form crashes
If I do not connect to database then builder is allowing me to save the file
    1) Open .fmb file in forms builder
    2) Making some changes in form
    3) Saving form (Successful)
I did some exercise just as a guess that may some part of the form is causing this error. I full expanded all components of the form i.e. blocks, canvases, triggers etc.
This exercise produced that 3 program units were giving same error while full expending those. I deleted those 3 program units and re-created them. Now it is not showing me this memory error while full expanding all program units. I can now fully expand my full form.
But I am still getting this error while saving the changes when I am connected to database.
    Please help.

  • Cann't open a *.fmb file (with the same version of Form Builder)

    Hello everybody,
My Form Builder 6.0 cann't open a *.fmb file, created with the same version, even with the same Form Builder tool.
I worked for long time ago at this module, I saved it many times, I compiled it and it worked very well. But last time it didn't want to work(open). I couldn't open it (FRM-10043: Cannot open file). But the corresponding *.fmx file is working.
    Here is some additional information:
When I try to rename or replace this file an Windows "There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use" error appear. But that file is not in use and it is not shared. Is this helpfull?
Is there something which can be done?
    Thanks in advance,
    Euge

Sure. I did that many times. I checked the volume for the errors. I interrupted any share connection. I tried to change the extension of the file and to change it again to *.fmb(I did this on a copy of that file).

  • 10g Forms Builder with error "cannot attach library" opening R12 fmb file

    Hi all,
I had set up my Forms Builder with all the necessary PLL and FMB files for developing R12 custom forms. I have used the builder to do few custom PLLs and one custom form, and I did not have any problem opening seeded Oracle Forms. Today when I need to enhance that custom form I did 2 weeks ago and I opened Forms Builder, I got the error "Cannot attach library.." for APPCORE, APPDAYPK, etc.. Same error for opening TEMPLATE.fmb.
I have done these to troubleshoot:
    1) I verified my Windows XP registry "FORMS_PATH" to include the folder where I store all the PLLs and FMBs.
    2) I updated default.env to include that file path.
    3) I create shortcut to Forms Builder and put folder path with PLLs under the "Start in" field of the shortcut.
    4) I rebooted my machine after changing the registry
    5) I moved the folder with PLLs to under C:; I seperate PLL to "resource" sub-folder and FMB to forms/US/ sub-folder just like the server structure.
    6) I install one more copy of Developer 10G Suite and set up the registry.
None of these work and the key is it used to work with no issue. Any suggestions what may be the problems?
    Thanks!
    Mike.

Turned out I reloaded all the $AU_TOP forms and PLLs to my desktop and it worked fine. I think I did not FTP correctly the first time.

So, just go to that directory select that 20 files and double click or hit enter it will open in one form builder session.
Note: You can not open from Form Builder.

  • Cannot open library files(.pll) in 10G

    Hi,
When I try to open or create a library file in 10g I get PDE-PLI018 Could not find library error. I can open or create fmb file though.
I could not create or open in Forms 10 g. 9.04 and again in Forms 10g 10.1.2 version. Operating System XP.
Edited FORMS_PATH by adding the location of .pll files.
Edited default.env varible adding the location of .pll files.
Modified environment variable to C:\Temp for Temp and Tmp both.
Modified Report_tmp in the registry to c:\temp
Modified Forms_Path in the registry added the location of the plls and fmbs.
Also get the following error when I try to save the forcefully created .pll file twice
    Rebooted the pc.
Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience......
    Can anybody help??

You said that the error was:
"Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem..."
Are you in the Oracle Forms Builder or Oracle Designer when this error occurs?
There are several possibilities. Here are a few:
    1. You are trying to read/write the pll to a network share. Ensure that you the files are stored locally.
    2. For the Builder (design time), the FORMS_PATH must be set in the Registry or in a batch file if you use one to start the Builder. The total length of all entries in FORMS_PATH should not exceed 1024 (recommended, however that it remains under 512)
For runtime (in a browser), the same setting and rules apply expect the entry is made in default.env
    3. If you have more than one version of the Builder installed on the machine, ensure that the system PATH reflects the version you are using as first in the list.
    4. The installation may have been corrupted.
    5. Be aware that the correct environment variable for 9.0.4 is FORMS90_PATH and the correct variable for 10.1.2. is FORMS_PATH
    6. Once opened and re-saved in 10.1.2, you will not be able to open in an older version.

  • Big FMB files

We have a strange case with big FMB file (approximately 3 MB).
When i open the file in Forms Builder and store it in other directory the file change it size approximately to 2.5 MB.
After compilation and resaving the file it returns to original size - 3 MB.
Our programmer told me that sometimes he lose some triggers from the FMB while storing the file to other directory.
    What can be a problem?
P.S. We are talking about v. 6i of Forms Builder.
    Thanks!

The varying size of your form is nothing to be concerned of. see:
    FMB size shrinks dramatically
Our programmer told me that sometimes he lose some triggers from the FMB while storing the file to other directory. Are those referenced triggers? Did you/he investigate a little? It's a little bit hard to diagnose a problem when the only information you have is that it exists (you know what? My database sometimes throws a no_data_found. Do you know why?) makes the solution to the problem more like a quiz show then a investigation...

  • Forms 10g (couldn't open .mnu file)

Hi all. Installed Forms 10g. Opened my previous fmb file, converted it to 10g. Then I start "OC4J Instance" and run my Forms program. It opens Internet explorer and gives this error
    FRM-10221: Cann't read file **.mnu
    Why?
    Thank you very much

You will probably be better off asking in the Forms forum which you will find Forms.
