Open GL graphics card

What HP desktops have graphic cards that fully support Open GL. I am wanting to buy a desktop to run Google Sketchup that needs to have Open GL supported graphics accelaration.

The gaming desktops on this HP web document fully support Open GL.
The high performance desktops on this HP web document also fully support Open GL.

  • Adobe Premiere Supported Cuda / Open Cl graphics cards (Ram issue)?

I purchased an IMAC last year with  a AMD Radeon HD 6770M, graphics card. I was looking forward to using the Mercury Playback Engine in Premiere. It's on the list of supported cards in Premiere, unfortunately it didn't work because the cards ram was under the requirements. I wish it had mentioned that on Adobe's site, but you live and learn.
Now I want to get a macbook and not make the same mistake. I'm looking at the Intel Iris Graphics 5100 and the Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200 in some macbooks. Are there any of these cards out there that are unsupported due to low ram memory like the 6770M?

If I recall correctly, there are two flavors of the 6770M, one has 1 GB VRAM (supported) and one that only has 512MB VRAM. Sorry you weren't aware of that.

I would go with a MacBook Pro with the NVIDIA 750M in it. That's the GPU I'd use if upgrading my MacBook Pro. Underpowered GPUs are not really great if you want to keep a system around for a few years.

  • "Photo Booth cannot open" due to graphics card, but nothing has changed!

I've been using Photo Booth on my computer, and it's worked for over a year. Yesterday, when I tried to open the program, I received an error message:
    "Photo Booth cannot open
The graphics card installed in this computer does not support Photo Booth."
Which is strange, because nothing on my computer changed since I last used Photo Booth - in fact, nothing has changed whatsoever! What could be the problem? It's a Mac OSX 10.5.6 with 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

Try using PhotoBooth in another user account--create a new one if necessary. Does it open?
Also repair disk permissions using your Install Disc 1 DVD. To do this:
    1) Insert the DVD and restart your computer while holding down the C key.
    2) Once the Installer has loaded, hit the enter/return key to move past the Language window.
    3) Move your mouse to the top of the screen--some menus should be there. Click Utilities and choose *Disk Utility*.
    4) In the left-hand column, click your hard drive's icon. (xx.x GB Fujitsu, for example) If you have Windows installed through Boot Camp, choose the "Macintosh HD" icon.
    5) Click the *Repair Permissions* button. This may take more than a few minutes to complete--be patient.
    6) If anything CAN'T be repaired, make a note of it and post it here. When the repair finishes, restart the computer.

  • Problems with graphics card with Windows 8 bootcamp on new imac

I just purchased a new 2013 imac (27inch, with the nvidia geforce gtx 680mx 2gb).
I partitioned the drive using bootcamp and successfully installed windows 8 pro 64bit as well as the support softward from Apple for the drivers.
My problem is that the display in windows says it is being run by a Microsoft basic display adapter and only using 256mb of memory and doesn't seem to be an Nvidia card at all, let alone the 2gb of video memory I am supposed to have.
I have tried downloading drivers directly from Nvidia, but when I run them it says I don't have compatible hardware.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.
    Please help.

After I read other discussions on the same topic, I found out that the problem is that when you install the drivers via the Bootcamp "windows support software" USB key, for some reason the NVIDIA drivers are not installed, although they are present in the Bootcamp folder.
How I solved the issue: Starting from the Peripherals Manager window (the one that shows all what is inside your machine), I opened the Graphic card "folder" and double-clicked on the "VGA standard card" line.
Then I clicked on a "install driver" button, browse through files, and selected the NVIDIA folder within the Bootcamp folder on the USB key.
It took some time but after that it had fully recognized the GTX 680 MX card.
I rebooted and the system itself set up to the 2560 x 1440 resolution.

  • Photo Booth & Graphic Card

I have a MacBookPro with a 3.06 GHz processor, 4GB memory, and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card running OSX 10.5.8. I've used Photo Booth without incident in the past but today when I tried to open it it gave me an error message stating that
    Photo Booth cannot open
The graphics card installed in this computer does not support Photo Booth.
The only thing that I can think of is that for some reason when I reinstalled the Studio suite yesterday, after my harddrive had crashed/been replaced, that somehow the installation could've messed with the settings? Are there other ideas people have of what may be causing this new error message or what to try--short of dragging it in to an Apple Store--to get the software working again?

That model MBP (3.06GHz, mid 2009) has dual graphics: the 9400M (standard mode) and 9600M GT (high performance mode). Switch from one to the other--toggle via System Preferences > Energy Saver >  Better battery life [=9400M] / Higher performance [=9600M GT]--reboot to get the system to recognize the change, and test Photo Booth again. Any change?

  • Jdownloader and graphic card problem

Whenever i open Jdownloader, graphic card changed to nvidia gt 650m. I have 15" retina macbook and my firmwares are all up-to-date. I have Jdownloader version. 2.
This discussion forum maybe for only mac and their parts and not for 3rd party apps , if it is like this, sorry
    Thanks a lot.

after a restart it works for a time, but always slow. I went to the Applestore this afternoon and the made a check and said it would be the logicboard and they would have to change it for CHF 600 and it would be ready in 10 - 15 days

  • Is there a difference between the ati radeon 2600xt mobility and pro graphic cards?

After checking apples support website for compatible open-cl graphic cards, they list the ati radeon 2600xt as not compatible. The models listed for this card is the mac pro 2008. However, I have an imac 2.4ghz dual core with the mobility version of the same card. Does anyone know if my imac is compatible?
    Thanks

    I found the discrepancy.
Under bootcamp, windows vista identifies the graphics card as an 'ATI Mobility HD Radeon 2600 XT'
Under Lion X, the graphics card is identified as an 'ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro'
    Go figure

  • Photo Booth suddenly not supported by Graphics Card

    Hi all,
I've got a serious problem and need it to be rectified as soon as possible.
Ok, here's the story - I've had my MacBook Pro since 2006, Photo Booth has worked like a breeze. In 2007, I installed Mac OS Leopard and Photo Booth still worked like a breeze.
Just last week, I installed Adobe Illustrator CS3 & Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Today, I open up Photo Booth to take some pictures for an assignment and I get an error message that says:
    "Photo Booth cannot open
The graphics card installed in this computer does not support Photo Booth."
One thing that confuses me is that iChat and Skype still work fine using the iSight built in, it's just Photo Booth that refuses to open.
I don't understand, Photo Booth has worked perfectly fine for the last 2 years and now suddenly my graphics card installed doesn't support Photo Booth. Please, I need any help I can get to rectify this problem, it's never happened to me before so I'm quite worried about it.
The reason why I need this issue to be fixed as soon as possible is because I need the PhotoBooth effects for one of my assignments in Photography. Please help me, I need this to be fixed urgently. All help given will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Try using PhotoBooth in another user account--create a new one if necessary. Does it open?

  • [Solved] The framebuffer, Grub, and graphics card driver

I'm running Arch on a 15.1" laptop, and the natural resolution for my LCD is 1366x768.
X has no problem of adjusting itself to the right resolution. The console can do this too, but only when I have the open-source graphics card driver (xf86-video-ati). If I try catalyst in the AUR, the console falls back to 800x600, characters being wide and blur. Grub seems to suffer from a similar problem. It always present me with a 800x600 menu, and the early userspace booting is in this resolution too.
I followed the instructions in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gr … resolution and the following is what I found out.
I couldn't find the package lrmi in the repo. (I doubt the wiki page is outdated.) I did find vbetool, but it doesn't provide vbetest. Taking the next approach, running sudo hwinfo --framebuffer gives:

No 1366x768. Taking the last approach, I added "vga=ask" to the Grub entry. Again no 1366x768. How can I get the resolution set to 1366x768 during Grub and/or early userspace booting? Or is it simply impossible?

So...  I should follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AT … _KMS_start, since I have an ATI card and I've decided to stick with the free driver(at least for now).
Still one question: to use KMS early(this is what I want), I need to regenerate the initial image(mkinitcpio). What's the worst result if it fails? Will mkinitcpio make no complaints but give me an unusable image? I'm asking the questions both in general and in my specific case(trying to enable KMS during early start).

Look in your Applications folder.  If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder.  Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.

Hello, I have a Mac computer with NVIDIA 750M dedicated graphics card and monitor EIZO but the problem was there when I was working with Windows and Acer monitor. When I open a file from Camera Raw in PS this is smaller than the screen so I double-click with the tool "hand" to fit on the screen, but the picture loses sharpness and becomes blurry. If you magnify the image even only slightly with the tool "zoom" the picture comes back clear. In Camera Raw instead is always sharp. I solve the problem by turning off the graphics card in PS but often use plugin that need the graphics card otherwise the processing time is much longer. I ask for help.
    Thanks.

  • Upgrade MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. to recommended system requirements for heli simulator: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB.

I want to install a helicopter simulator into my MacPro1,1 with ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB and Open GL 1.7.7. Recommended system requirements for the heli simulator are: OpenGL Version 2.1 compatible 3D-graphics card from NVIDIA or ATI with 512MB (at least as fast as NVIDIA 8600, 9400 or ATI Radeon HD 2400). Is there such a graphics card available that will work in my Mac Pro?

Are you really still running 10.6.3? you will need 10.6.5+ so do that and make a clone.
ATI 5770 from Apple Store - like 1000s of others have done and in the comments section on the store page.

  • AE CS6 Open GL crashes. Graphics Card ?

I've recently done a clean install of my Mac OSX lion 10.7.4. I updated my Production Premium CS software from CS5 to CS6.
I'm having a lot of trouble with Open GL crashing.
This happens when I was playing about with video copilots Optical Flares. (I am going to get in touch with them as well !!)
I'm worried that my graphics card isn't compatible with the CS6 software.I currently have a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB graphics card.
This isn't on the After Effects suggested card. Do I need to upgrade to an Nvidia card ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Alex
Processor : 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 EEC
Graphics : ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
    Software : Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4

So I have been having the same issue and I think I found a resolution.
Since CS6 automatically chooses whether it should use GPU for OpenGL or not you cannot disable it within the After Effects preview settings. Instead disable it within Optical Flares preferences.
Open your project and put cap locks on. Go into your Effects Controls panel for the layer with Optical Flares (or add Optical Flares to a layer).
Click the Optical Flares options link to open Optical Flares. Choose File from the menu and click on Preferences. Uncheck the box for "Check for GPU render errors" and check the box for "Disable GPU rendering."

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
