Open GL, nVidia 79000GS, XP Pro

Using nvidia 7900 gs, XP Pro. The Photoshop CS4 "use open GL box" is checked in preferences and the GS7900 is recognized, but the open GL features of CS4 do not work. Does anyone know if this is an XP Pro issue or a 7900 GS issue. Anyone using a 7900GS on Vista?

Solution for one monitor: In case anyone else is having a similar problem with nvidia cards: the solution that worked for me was to (1) start Photoshop and uncheck use OpenGl (very important step) in Photoshop if it is checked. Close Photoshop. (2) delete the installed nvidia driver via device manager under system in the control panel; this requires a reboot to complete. (3) your system will now start in 640 x 480 mode; install the latest nvidia drivers (186.18) for XP; adjust the display resolution(s); reset the icc color profile(s); reboot (or run the program you use that installs the color profile; this doesn't happen automatically in windows XP when you set the icc profile(s) in in the control panel via the display control or via the color control (add on from Microsoft); I also had to reboot to get the thumbnails on the windows display to be display correctly at 125%. Start Photoshop; select use OpenGL. Close Photoshop. Restart Photoshop.
Now all of the functions that require openGL work for me on monitor 1 - even though my card(s) only have 256 MB of memory each. I have two 7900 GS cards and four monitors; and everything in Photoshop now works on monitor 1 of video card 1- at least, everything I have tried. Photoshop does not work properly on the other monitors [not just the OpenGl-related functions, but almost everything is broken on the other monitors. Note: Photoshop use to work on the other monitors when OpenGl was not working.
If step 1 is skipped the process does not work; for some reason Photoshop will use the old drivers after new drivers are installed if step 1 is skipped.

Reinstall it.This time delete the receipts first.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Important:
As you're on 10.9.3 you'll need to update iPhoto to v9.5 before opening it. Use Software update.

A few thoughts for diagnosis/testing purposes:
Have you recently run the disk utility and repaired HD and permissions? If not do so.
Boot into the Safe mode - hold down shift key on boot - and see if the problems are still there. Some functions won't work but see if anything odd happens.
Check your startup items. Get rid of them temporarily.
Create a new user account and see if the problems occur with the new account.
Lastly, be sure your backup is up-to-date.

This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

Thank you very much for your response. This was not clear from the Australian App store, where there was only one other reviewer (who also could not open the bundle and must have also thought he was purchasing MS Office, rather than a supplement to it.)
So, I've purchased the disk of MS Office Home and Student 2013, however now can't seem to instal it on my MacPro. (I returned to Mac recently after numerous yrs on PC, so am clearly still working out how to use the Mac Pro well.) I'm having difficulties locating instructions for the 2013 version on the MS website, and the instructions for the 2011 version indicate that an icon should appear, which hasn't happened here. If I select any of the files through Finder, they don't activate the disk.
Your first response was beautifully clear. I now would appreciate any advice on how to instal a MS Office disk.

Actually you need to quit Safari which is different from closing. With Safari open go the menu bar for Safari/Quit Safari.

After I successfully install the adobe photoshop elements 12 for mac, I try to open organizer and a window pops up that says
