Open GR/IR question

Dear Guru's,
We were able to load the GR/IR balances to a dummy takeover account using LSMW direct input program RM06EEI1
Scenario was:
PO = 100 EA
GR has already happend for 50 EA in legacy, so Open GR was loaded for 50 EA
Invoice qty in legacy = 0, so the PO can be invoiced for 100 EA.
But when we try to post an Invoice for the PO via  MIRO, the line items do not get selected.
Anything that we are missing?

Okay. Solved the issue. As always with SAP, u learn something new everyday.
We have Material Ledger Active in our environment. In such environments, the ML Help Desk needs to be installed. OSS NOTES: 502213 and 481034 are related to the issue.
Once the PO history is loaded, the migrated documents need to be processed through the ML Help Desk. This makes database corrections in the background.the POs need to be corrected via the HELPDESK cockpit.
You can the create invoices and GR in SAP after the migration of GR/IR BALANCES.
Thanks for all suggestions.

  • Open Directory Migration Question

    Setup:
My company has two servers, both running 10.5.6. We are migrating from the server Fubar (xserve) as it has had a lot of problems and we want to do a fresh install on it (I was not the admin who initially set it up).
In order to get a 'fresh' OD going, we are recreating all the accounts on the new server Edoras (powerpc mac pro), making sure to preserve UID of the users.
    Problem:
User A cannot change his password on Edoras after Directory Utility has been changed to point at it. He can change his password locally, but it does not propagate to Edoras, nor does a password change on Edoras affect his local machine.
The questions I haven't been able to get answers for are:
    * Should the OD search string be different on Fubar and Edoras? Currently our search string is 'dc=fubar,dc=domain,dc=com'.
    * Are there other attributes that have to be setup in OD besides UID? I noticed when using the Target tab in Workgroup Manager that there is a GeneratedUID attribute, does this need to match?
    Thanks for any information/help.

I did something like this recently. Unfortunately I couldn't get an answer on the Internet and had to re-configure Directory Access on the client machines manually.
I moved our system from a POwerMac G4 with several upgrades (eSATA card, eSATA Coolgear Enclosure, 7200.11 (yeah I know, bad drives to use) Seagate drives, 1.8 GHz PPC 7447 upgrade, 1.5GB of ram) to a new Mac Pro with a Highpoint RAID controller. The old G4 was very unreliable and couldn't hand
I had to go to each machine with ARD, open Directory Access, delete the LDAP entry and re-enter it. This was really annoying and confusing for me as the old server and the new server had:
The same version of OSX (ok, one was a PPC version and I special ordered the Intel version from Apple Tech Support), but they both were running 10.4.11 with the newest security patches.
    The same OD Search Strings
The same IP Address for the Server
The same DNS name for the server
and the same user IDs and group settings
and I still had to re-do Directory Access using the client machines. Before re-doing the Directory Access re-binding I would try to login. The "other" icon would appear on the loging window, but when I would loging with the correct username and password the login windows would "shake it's head" and wouldn't let me login.
The biggest pain was that portable directories didn't sync correct anymore, so I had to manually backup, then delete the account, then re-bind, then re-create and restore the portable directory on each laptop manually.
Unfortunately I do not know the unix command to change directory binding to client computers using ARD. If such a command exists it would make things much easier for you. Does anyone know if a command exists?

  • Open Office Startup Question

    Hi All -
I recently bought a new MacBook. My first Mac, so I am on these forums a lot asking questions that to long-time users likely seem silly. Thanks in advance for your assistance and patience.
When I start Open Office I see in my Doc an application called X11 start. I understand this is some sort of Windows Translator (?) or something. It opens up a small text window with "bash-3.2$" in it.
That box will 'hang' for a while. Then I get a small box saying "Command Timed Out."
I click OK, then I can see the Java start (again in the dock) and Open Office will start.
What is happening here? Can I get around this, or is this the (small) price I will have to pay to use Open Office on the Mac?
    Insight / Suggestions appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
Open Office for Mac uses X11.
X11 is a framework for building Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) and has its origin in the Unix world.
Right now it is indeed the price to paid when using Open Office.
As an alternative you can use NeoOffice http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php which is based on the Open Office sources, but doesn't need X11.

  • OPEN SQL performance question

    Hi friends,
I'm going to read and process data in an interface coded in ABAP and OPEN SQL. To improve efficiency and reliability I'm processing the data in packets of a fixed size of rows - reading rows up to a predetermined numer into an internal table which then is processed and then finaly written back to database followed by "commit work". Then the process will continue with reading the next fixed number of rows, process them, and so on ...
The general question is, which is the most efficient way to implement this scenario?
I think of two basic approaches:
1.1) Loop over results from a cursor using FETCH NEXT CURSOR inside a LOOP appending the lines to the internal table.
2.1) Execute SELECT ... INTO TABLE <itab> FROM <table> UP TO <data packet size> ROWS.
My assumtion is that approach 2 would be the more effecient, is that correct?
The processed data will be written back to the database in one single statement:
    2.2) INSERT <table> FROM TABLE <itab>
Which I assume is more efficient than doing the same using multiple inserts within a loop?
    Regards,
    Christian

In native SQL you can also use the packet options.
SELECT  <Fields name>      appending corresponding fields of table <Internal table>
                <b>package size 20000</b>
                FROM <Database table name>
                WHERE <Condition>.
    ENDSELECT.
By using this the system will fetch the records from database table in packets [20000 records per package]
    Regards

  • Open Hub Destination question

    Hi,
We want to be able to extract data from a cube and would like to use Open Hub Destination for it. We also want to extract deltas.
    The question is ..
Should we be making a single info package for this with delta capability ..
or 2 separate info packages .. 1 for full mode and another for delta mode.
    Regards
    Vandana

    Hi,
Yes what you said it is write
from which cube do u want to retract the daat that cube will be the source
first create the open hub in RSBO tcode and
in open hub destination select aht and create the transformation between the table( to where u want to export)
then create the DTP between the cube to the table
and directly u can use the delta DTP first all the records will come and later onle delta records will be updated.

  • Customer open balance analysis question

Question: How do you easily track open balance of an invoice without using residuals?
    Scenario:
    Create invoice using transaction FB70
Apply a partial payment to the invoice or apply a credit memo to reduce the invoice balance. We do not want to use residual items as this closes the original item and reopens an item with a new reference number.
How can we easily and quickly tell the remaining open balance on the Invoice?
    Example:
Invoice 1800000000 is created for $150
Credit Memo 1600000000 is created for $50 and applied to above invoice as a partial clearing.
When the Customer Line Items are displayed, the Original Invoice, 1800000000, still shows the full amount of $150 and a partial payment of document of <$50> also shows but with no link to the original invoice. Short of using the Text Fields, is there any way to display the remaining open balance of an invoice?
Calculating the open balance is easy when the customer only has a few open items; however, this is a nightmare when the customer has more than a screen full of open records.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Greg Brown

When you post the partial payment, the system marks the document number of the original open item in the line item for the partial payment. The original open item and the partial payment remain open.
The system stores the document number, fiscal year and number of the invoice item in the partial payment. <b>You can find this information in the 'Payment for' field.</b> Thus you can refer to the original open item from the partial payment. When you post the remaining amount for the invoice, both the partial payment and the invoice are cleared.
This is per documentation for <a href="http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/01/a9bb94455711d182b40000e829fbfe/content.htm">partial payments</a> , you may want to test it out. Hope a similar feature is available for credit memos.

  • ECC6 - Line item display and Open item management Questions.

    Hi All,
For SAP ECC6, although I do not maintain line item display and open item management for Recon GL (for Debtor), I still can use FAGLB03 to view the GL balances and even Drill down to line item level by double click the value from FAGLB03 until line item level.
    Questions:
Could anyone confirm whether my assumption below, true?
    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
    In ECC 6
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
Additionally, we can use FBL3N to check the line item data for NON line item display GL as well.
In SAP R/3 4.7, if not mistaken, if the GL is NOT line item display and open item management, we cannot drill down the line item reading and CANNOT use FBL3N to check the line item data.
    Kindly advise on these.
    Thanks.
    sbmel

    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
BSIS is an open items table. You can see all GL open items there. GL's which are not open item managed can't go here
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    Yes. Your understanding is correct
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
Yes. In case of partial clearing data will be there in both the tables BSIS & BSAS
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
These are New GL reports and report is based on document split object. if your document split is active at segment level then you can see line item report at segment level using FAGLL03. These reports has no link to FS00 settings.
    Hope this helps

  • Finder Shows all Mail Attachments as opened today - security question

Hi, I used wifi at a coffee shop and last night, when looking for files opened recently by uing the "search for all documents" function in the finder menu, it shows that practically all the attachments I've ever sent in Mail were opened TODAY. I haven't looked at some of these in over a year. No other files seemed to have been opened. Is it possible that someone got into my computer through the wifi network? I should note that this is a brand new macbook and as soon as I saw that all the files had been opened, I checked the system preferences and sure enough, "sharing" was enabled. Needless to say i disabled it right away. Anything else I can do?

Thanks, Barney. I ran Apple Disk Utility, as well as TechTool Deluxe and DiskWarrior, and the drive is fine.
To clarify, I don't think a hypothetical intruder would have copied one user account's folder onto the desktop of another deliberately. Ham-handedly, perhaps, but not deliberately. I'm not saying there was an intruder, but if there was, perhaps the person was attempting to copy the folder elsewhere (his own desktop?) and got sloppy or careless.
Here's are the things that raised the question in my mind.
-The desktop where the folder appeared was pristine -- no other objects on the screen. I think a system-created folder appearing on a clean desktop would have been placed in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This folder was not; it appeared about three inches from the bottom of the screen and four inches from the right edge.
-Of the several user accounts on the MacBook, the copied user account was one that would have contained the most personal information. The others are specially-purposed accounts with limited contents.

  • Terminal: "open -e/t" question.  Windows group question

    2 questions regarding Terminal
    1. Is it possible to make it so the open -e, or open -t command, instead of opening TextEdit, opens a different text editor?
    2. Is it possible to open a Windows group, and have JUST 1 of the windows execute an ssh command?

    1. Is it possible to make it so the open -e, or open -t command, instead of opening TextEdit, opens a different text editor?
Sure. 'open -t' uses the default text editor application, as defined by LaunchServices. On a standard system this is TextEdit.
If you want to have 'open -t' use a different TextEditor then you need to specify an alternative application as the default text editor.
This is easiest done by selecting a plain text (.txt) file in the Finder and choosing File -> Get Info. In the 'Open with' pane you can choose an alternative text editor and clicking the 'Change All' button will update the LaunchServices database with the specified application as the default.
Now any .txt file you open will launch in this application, whether it's opened in the Finder, or via 'open -t'.

  • Iphoto won't open just has question mark over icon

My iphoto won't open on my iMac spotlight doesn't akknowledge it.  Just a question mark covers the icon on my dock.  Any help to get it back would be great

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Security, Encryption, Open/Closed Network question

I use a 2010 model AirPort Extreme base station and set it up via Airport Utility. During setup, I selected "Closed" network and WPA2 encryption. I keep my "Guest Network" not enabled. In my residence, I can pick up signals from over 10 other networks going on in the neighborhood. I have both AirRadar 2.0.2 and iStumbler (Release 99). AirRadar says my network is "Open" and is not listed as "Secure" but lists "WPA2" as the encryption type. I've emailed their support for assistance understanding what seems to me to be conflicting information. iStumbler finds my network but as an "invisible" network. With the amount of wireless activity in my immediate area, I am very concerned about security issues.
My question: Is there a procedure I can follow that will help me determine the robustness of the security currently in place of my network?
I have only basic understanding of WiFi in general, security issues, and have only low to moderate computing skills. I'm no security expert, but a concerned consumer wanting to protect my family.
Thank you in advance for assistance in this matter.

a hidden (closed) network does not add much security, if any. there are freely available tools out there that will easily pick up a closed network. additionally, some wireless devices (iPod Touch, iPad) on your network may have problems picking up a hidden network when attempting to re-connect.
your network will be well protected with WPA2 and a long, non-dictionary password made up of letters and numbers - it would take a determined hacker with plenty of time to crack a thus protected network.
also make sure the extreme is password protected (again, choose a non-dictionary pw made up of letters and numbers.
you might find this useful: _*Take Control airport setup manuals*_.

  • Open DNS & Airport Question

I have a wireless network (Airport Extreme and Airport Express for range in the back of my house). Have 4 Macs on the network. All have Open DNS set in System Prefs>Network>Airport>Advanced>DNS.
Should I set one or both of the Airports to Open DNS also? If so, how? I looked at Airport Utility and see no ready way to do it.
If I should add OPen DNS to Airport, can someone tell me how in an easy to follow fashion?
    Thanks in advance!

    No, sorry.
All my machines are individually set for Open DNS: System Prefs>Network>Airport>Advanced>DNS: 208.67.222.222; 208.67.220.220.
The machines have been set this way for a long time.
My Q: Can/Should I set my Airports (Express and Extreme) somehow for Open DNS?
    My general configuration is:Cable>Modem>Airport>4 Macs.
The hardware configuration is Cable into Router (Cox), Ethernet into Extreme, broadcast to Express 5 rooms away (to serve 2 of the 4 Macs); Ch 1 all.
Perfect connection - so don't want to mess with that.
Just want to know (if I can to speed up download time) --
Would (if possible) setting the Airport settings to Open DNS help my speed? If so, how in the world would one do that - - > set the actual base station to have Open DNS settings?
    Make sense? Hope so!
    Thanks!

  • Open Data Unit Question

Has anyone been able to retrieve parent members when using the new user defined list functionality within the OpenDataUnit function?
    Set DataUnit=HS.OpenDataUnit(A{MyCashFlowList}.I#[ICP Top].C1#TOTC1.C2#[None].C3#[None].C4#[None])
The user defined list "MyCashFlowList" includes both base & parent accounts. Only base accounts are returned.
    My workaround is as follows:
' Define account list-> All balance sheet accounts assigned to a CF account
    lstCFSource = HS.Account.List("","MyCashFlowList")
    For Each CFSourceAcct in lstCFSource
' Start to process balance sheet accounts assigned to the cash flow chart
    Set DataUnit = HS.OpenDataUnit("A#" & CFSourceAcct & ".C3#MOVEMENTS" & TOPS_NO_C3 & ".W#YTD")
I would think the user defined list in the actual set statement is faster since it is calling the dataunit one time.

  • Open Directory Configuration Question

I've got a Mac-Mini based server running Mountain Lion (10.8.3) and Server.app (2.2.1).  The server was migrated from Lion some weeks ago, the Server works OK, but seeing odd CPU usage and fairly frequent non-specific error reports which suggests that there are still a few odd gremlins lurking around that I'm trying to track down.  So I'm trying to find things that appear odd.  I've found one such in the reported configuration for Open Directory.
The server is configured to be an Open Directory master, and is the only Open Directory server we have.  The panel for Open Directory in Server.app lists the single entry as follows:
    * www.2gc.org (master)
    * 10.0.1.2, 10.211.55.2, 10.37.129.2
The first IP address is the IP address of the server on our LAN.  I have no idea what the second and third IP addresses are - they do not appear to have anything to do with any network we have configured.  They are from the "private" address space - so I'm guessing they are non-functional since we don't have a network using either with these IP ranges within them - but they must have come from somewhere.
It is also not clear where / how these entries are set within ML.
It may be that this is all perfectly normal, or maybe symptomatic of something that can be cleaned up.
    Would value any thoughts.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Simon
Thanks for the thoughts.  There are no other servers on the network - this is an isolated computer parked on a fixed IP with no downstream LAN - the 10.0.1.2 address is the one assigned it by the router that connects it to the outside world - but no other devices are connected to the sub-net the machine sits on: all services are provided through the fixed IP to machines accessing it directly from internet via FQDN.
All of which makes the presence of the other two IPs curious, and apparently unnecessary.
Good housekeeping suggests they could be removed - but unclear how these entries are set.  But in the interim good to know that the presence of these IPs is probalby harmless.

  • Open Format Timeline Question

    Hello,
I'm planning on switching to FCP soon. I am editing on premiere right now and if I get a positive answer to my question I will probably make the switch really soon.
I have a project coming that includes SD footage, HDV and XDCAM EX. Would I be able to edit in real time in Final Cut Pro even without any cards (AJA or Blackmagic)?
    Thanks a lot.

    Yes.
Will you need to eventually render? Yes.
Will the quality be EXCELLENT on all formats? No. SD blown up to HD won't look the best.
Can you mix frame rates? 23.98 and 29.97...25? Well, it will work, but it won't look good. Mixing formats is one thing, frame rates is entirely different. Best to match frame rates before you edit, and if you do that, might as well make the codecs match too. Because mixing frame rates is a BAD thing. Avid doesn't even let you do it. FCP does, and people think that they can then get away with it and are shocked when it looks juttery and horrid.
