Open Hub multiple sources

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create an Open hub that combines some fields from 2lis_11_vahdr and 2lis_11_vaitm.
What is the best way of achieving a flat record Open hub which is delta capable?
All thoughts appreciated

Create a DSO with the fields you need and extract the data from the sales order header and item into the DSO. Create an Open Hub Destination with delta mode.

    hello,
BI objects such as InfoCubes, DataStore objects, or InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can function as open hub data sources. It is because they physically store data.
BUt multiprovider, infoset do not hold any data, hence not posible to define them as open hub datasources.

  • Open Hub: Using Infoset as the source.

I found SAP documentation indicating that an INFOSET can be used as a source to a OPEN HUB. See  below.
    Structure
The open hub destination contains all the information about a data target: the type of destination, the name of the flat file or database table and its properties, and the field list and its properties.
BI objects such as InfoCubes, DataStore objects, InfoObjects (attributes or texts), and InfoSets can function as open hub data sources. Note that DataSources may not be used as the source.
My question is When creating the Open Hub Destination in the Template section; What Object Type do I select for an INFOSET? I do not see an INFOSET as a choice.
We are BI 7.0 NewtWeaver 2004s.
Thanks for your assistance and expertise.

  • Open Hub destination in BI 7.0

I am trying to create an open hub destination to extract data from an mutiprovider to BPC, when I get the step where I need to assign the infocube to the open hub destination, I cannot find the mutiprovider from the drop down menu, is this means that open hub cannot use the mutiprovider as the data source?

    Hi,
Infocubes, DataStore Objects or Infoobjects(attributes or texts) can be used as open hub data sources.

  • Open Hub destinations

I am using open hub destinations to transfer the cube data into database tables in BI.During activation of open hub the database tables with names /BIC/OH* are created. I am facing problem with the reference fields associated with this table. It is taking the field name itself as the reference field for Quantity and currency fields.Suppose I have a field CRM_NETVAM in table, the reference field shown for that in table is CRM_NETVAM only. This is the problem, so it wo'nt allow us to activate the databse table and ulltimately will be cause of failure of the open hub functionality.
I need quick help for this and will give full points to anything which can help me out in solving this.

    Hello,
Open hub service is to distibute data from BI system to non SAP systems. In open hub service for data export from BI system to non SAP system the central object is Infospoke and within infospoke BI Objects acts as open hub data source  from which data is extracted in full and delta mode and flat files and database tables acts as open hub destinations basically the target system into which data is transferred and data can be transferred using Business Add In (BADI)

  • Hierarchy Extraction using Open hub Destination

    Hi,
I need to extract hierarchy data for Application code(YAPPLCD) using OHD. In the Hierarchy there are 4 components(Industry, Market, Application Group and Application Code). i need to get all the 3 details for the Application Code(i.e to which Indusrty does it belong, Market and Application Group). But HIerarchy table is having one record for each apllication code, Market, Application Group, Application code.
How to get relevant data for the application code?
    My file format should be:
    Appl.Code | Appl.Group | Market | Industry.

    Hi Suma...
The SAP Open Hub service enables you to distribute data from an SAP BI/BW system into external data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. With this, you can ensure controlled distribution using several systems. The central object for the export of data is the InfoSpoke. Using this, you can define the object from which the data comes and into which target it is transferred, leveraging SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) as the transfer/transform mechanism.
SAP BI objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, or InfoObjects can act as open hub data sources. You can select database tables or flat files as open hub destinations, and then use those destinations as actual sources within SSIS.  To automate the extraction using SAPu2019s Open Hub Service, youu2019ll need to setup a process chain. Note that both a full and delta modes are also available as the extraction mode.
As stated already with direct extraction from SAP R/3, once data is extracted out of SAP NetWeaver® BI (SAP BW), the destination of that data could be any relational database (such as SQL Server), and then reports (from SSRS) and multi-dimensional cubes (from SSAS) can be created from that database data.  The resulting SQL Server reports/cubes could then be used within the Microsoft Business Intelligence delivery mechanisms, such as through Excel, SharePoint, PerformancePoint, etc.

  • Open Hub Vs Infospoke

    Hi All,
In BW 7 We are using Open Hub & previously using Infospoke in BW 3.5. My question is in infospoke we have the flexibility of using BADI but in Open Hub we dont have that option. can we still use infospoke instead of Open HUB. Are there any advantages of open hub over infospoke.
    Thanks,
    Kiran.

    Hi,
The open hub service enables you to distribute data from an SAP BW system into external data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. With this, you can ensure controlled distribution using several systems. The central object for the export of data is the InfoSpoke. Using this, you can define the object from which the data comes and into which target it is transferred.
Through the open hub service, SAP BW becomes a hub of an enterprise data warehouse. The distribution of data becomes clear through central monitoring from the distribution status in the BW system.
    Functions
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, or InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can act as open hub data sources. You can select database tables or flat files as open hub destinations. Both a full and a delta mode are also available as the extraction mode.
Components of the Open Hub Service
The open hub service is made up of the following objects:
    InfoSpoke
The central object for the data export is the InfoSpoke.
    The InfoSpoke defines the following:
u2022 The open hub data source from which the data is extracted
    u2022 The extraction mode
u2022 The open hub destination into which the data is delivered.
In addition, you can also select which data selection is to be extracted from which InfoProviders. This selection ensures that a destination for different points in time from the same InfoProvider can be supplied with data for different selection criteria using a delta. The selection set is freely configurable as long as extraction has not taken place in the delta mode. Once it has, this no longer applies.
    Open Hub Data Source
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, MultiProviders and MultiProviders and InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can function as open hub data sources. If you use an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures as a data source, refer to the note regarding the settings on the Selection tab page in Creating InfoSpokes.
    Extraction Mode
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways: in full mode (F) and in delta mode (D). See InfoSpoke Extraction Mode.
    Open Hub Destination
Database tables (from the database in the BW system) and flat files (CSV) can act as open hub destinations. See also Extraction to Database Tables and Extraction to Flat Files. You can extract the data from a database to a non-SAP system using APIs with a third-party tool. See also Extraction to Non-SAP Systems.
The open hub destination includes all information about a target system for the InfoProvider data: type of destination, name of the flat file or the database table. It also contains a logical target system. The logical target system is used to structure the individual open hub destinations in the open hub monitor. The open hub monitor groups the requests according to logical target system, open hub destination and InfoSpoke. By specifying a logical target system, you get a better overview of the individual open hub requests.

  • Open Hub - Data from multiple sources to single target

    Hello,
I am using Open Hub to send the data from SAP BI to Flat files. I have a requirement where I want to create a single destination from multiple sources. In other words in BI we have different tables for attributes and text. I would like to combine the data from attributes  and text into a single file. For eg. I want to have material attributes and text in the same single file as output.
Is this possible in Open Hub? If yes could you please help me to understand the process.
    Thanks,
    KK

    Hi,
    1. Create the Info Spoke and activate it
    2. Change it and go to transformation
    3. Check the box InfoSpoke with Transf. Using BAdI
    4. You are asked if you want to generate the spoke. Say yes & Simply set some texts and activate here, then return.
    5. You can now change the target structure. Simply create a Z structure with all the attributs & text field in it in the SE11 and enter it here.
    6. Double click on BAdI implementation & then double click again on "TRANSFORM" method of the implementation. It will take you to method
    "IF_EX_OPENHUB_TRANSFORM~TRANSFORM"
    7. Write a code to select & fill the text field & map other filed with the attribute fields.
    Example:
    ZEMPLOYEE_ATTR_STRU - Target Structure for InfoSpoke EMPLOYEE_ATTR
    EMPLOYEE     /BI0/OIEMPLOYEE     NUMC     8     0     Employee
    DATETO     /BI0/OIDATETO     DATS     8     0     Valid to
    DATEFROM     /BI0/OIDATEFROM     DATS     8     0     Valid from
    COMP_CODE     /BI0/OICOMP_CODE     CHAR     4     0     Company code
CO_MST_AR     /BI0/OICO_MST_AR     CHAR     4     0     Controlling Area of Master Cost Center
    HRPOSITION     /BI0/OIHRPOSITION     NUMC     8     0     Position
    MAST_CCTR     /BI0/OIMAST_CCTR     CHAR     10     0     Master Cost Center
TXTMD     RSTXTMD     CHAR     40     0     Medium description
Note: Text and attribute are in same structure.

  • Multiple data sources to open hub destination ??

    Hi,
Is it possible to assign multiple data sources to open hub destination?
At present we are FTP'ing a file to users. Users need one more field added to this file. The information for this field belongs to another ODS. I  checked the infospoke but it does not accept multiple data sources.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
Edited by: BI Quest on Sep 4, 2008 8:12 PM

You can create multiple transformations for open hub destination. Create destination of open hub destination to be file on application server and then use transfer mechanism to transfer files to desired destination.

  • Creating multiple flat files from a single source using Open Hub

    Hi All,
I am not sure if its a common scenario but we have a requirement where in we have to split the data in the target into 3 different flat files depending on certain conditions. For e.g.
If the value of an attribute in a record is A then I have to create a file, if it is B then another file and if it is C, then another file.
Is this possible to achieve through open hub? We have a requirement to load only delta records. Any inputs is appreciated and would be rewarded.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sundar

    Yes it is possible,
All you need to do is create 3 destinations each of type Flat file.
For your data target link to the and Open Destinations1, link by creating a transformation. and while create DTP use filter A.
Again for your data target link to the another Open Destination2, link by creating a transformation and while creating DTP use Filter B.
similarly for Open Destination3,  use Filter C.

  • Open Hub with DataSource as Source of Transformation

    Hello,
I have created an Open Hub Destination to a database table and activated it.  I now try to create a transformation with the new open hub as the destination and a custom datasource as the source of the transformation.
I get an error message that says "Cannot connect DataSource to an open hub destination".  We are on BI 2004s service pack 12.  I was able to perform this task successfully on previous support packs.
For instance, I cannot open an existing transformation from a datasource to the open hub that was created before the application of the support packs.  I get the same error message.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help,
    Jason

    Hi Michael,
I was loading directly from the DataSource into a database table because I was only going to use the table as a lookup table in a transformation.  The data doesn't really need to be in a BI object.
I did the same procedure one other time while we were on service pack 6, and it worked fine.
Anyway, I have loaded the lookup data into a DSO and everything is fine.  Thanks for your helpful response.

  • Open hub destination with datasource as the source

    Hi,
I am trying to use the new features of BI for open hub destination where you can use datasource as the source for extraction.
I have created an infopackage, loaded data to PSA and from there to open hub destination via the DTP.
When I try to execute the DTP, I get the following error:
    <b>Datapackage processing terminated.
    Error in substep
You are not authorized to use this transformation.</b>
I have been able to use the DTP to load open hub destination targets with datastore and infocubes as source.
Also when we turn on the security trace, it doesn't fail anywhere.
Has anybody faced a similar problem?
    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Payal.

I have created to OHD - one for a 3.5 data source and one for a 7.0 data source (both are different data sources). While creating DTP for the 7.0 data source, it did create a default mapping for transformation.
But I still get same error in both cases.
When I create the DTP, it tries to create a transformation. But I get an information message :
    Exception CX_RS_MSG occurred (program: CL_RSBK_PATH==================CP, include: CL_RSBK_PATH==================CM00I, line: 16).
I can still activate the DTP and when I run it says I don't have authorization to this transformation.
I think there are issues while creating the transformation, but I don't know what!

  • Open Hub  - Infosets as source and 'template fields' button

    Hi all,
Two questions re Open Hub on 04s (we are on SP8).  I've surfed OSS, help.sap.com and SDN with no luck re answers to these:
    - I've defined an infoset as my source of an open hub destination.  It appears I must create a transformation, but it generates no proposal, and I'm not sure how/if I can add a virtual object (such as an infoset) as a source in a transformation.  It appears that the DTP requires this transformation to be defined.  Am I missing something?  So far, testing on all other objects has been successful.
    - How does one use the button 'Template Fields' when defining fields in an OHD?  I expected to see options to insert groups of fields (ex. all fields of an infoobject and its attributes), but I don't see any options available.
    Thanks!
    Lonnie

    Update:
I was able to create the transformation (issue found btw keyboard and chair).
New problem:  I am unable to activate my DTP.  When choosing the source for my DTP, I get a popup window (as normal) to choose the possible sources, but the infoset is not available for selection.  Only the 'pieces' of the infoset (the two DSO's that comprise the infoset), and this doesn't help me because my source is the infoset, not the indivudual tables of it.
Also, I cannot change the extraction mode to FULL.  Only delta is available.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Open hub service - Cube as source system

    Dear gurus,
i am new to open hub concept.
i need to transfer values from my query to a custom table in R/3.
    im using bi7.
    Questions:
    1) i guess pen hub is my solution. is it correct?
    2) do i have to transfer values from my cube or can i send values from my query too?
    3) i have created openhub service under modelling tab, i have selected target type as TAB. it says database table /BIC/OHZTABLO.
    is it correct?
    4) then i am trying to create Transformation from open hub ZTABLO to/ BIC/OHZTABLO. ?
in that case it shows that transformation target is DEST- ZTABLO? i mean open hub service is my destination? then what is the source?i am confused in that point.
    5) Thanks all!

    1) i guess pen hub is my solution. is it correct?
->If u want to transfer dat from yr query then APD (analysis Process designer) will be the best bet to go for. Create APD and schedule it in process chain
    2) do i have to transfer values from my cube or can i send values from my query too?
->Using OH(open hub) you have to use Cube as a source,,,you cant use query then.
    3) i have created openhub service under modelling tab, i have selected target type as TAB. it says database table /BIC/OHZTABLO.
->ya,correct,there are two ways to do that,,,either u send the cube data to a open hub table(as its happening in yr case) or send it to application server/flat file
    is it correct?
    --> yes
    4) then i am trying to create Transformation from open hub ZTABLO to/ BIC/OHZTABLO. ?
in that case it shows that transformation target is DEST- ZTABLO? i mean open hub service is my destination? then what is the source?i am confused in that point.
---> yr source is InfoCube and target is Open hub table /BIC/OHZTABLO
    5) Thanks all!
    Than you.
