Open hyperlink in numbers in ipad

Hi,
I started to use Numbers on my iPad and tried to open hyperlink
to view website in my spreadsheet, but I don't know how to.
Checked the Help Section, but don't understand it.
Tap Open to open a URL.                              Numbers recedes to the background and Safari opens the linked webpage.
Because when I tap, I was presented with a few option, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete and Fill,
none of them ask to open link.
Please advice.

Here you are in a forum dedicated to Numbers for OSX.
Your question is about Numbers for iOS which is a different application.
Would be more efficient to ask in the forum dedicated to iWork for iOS.

  • Hyperlink in Numbers on iPad??

How do I create a hyperlink in Numbers on the iPad?

    Ivan,  Yes that helped.
What I did not know is that links may NOT appear in tables.
"Only text within a text box or shape can be made into a hyperlink, not text within a table cell."
I created a link inside a text box, and then positioned the text box over a cell.
But when I deleted the row above that cell, the text box did not shift up to maintain a position over the cell.
So it seems text boxes cannot be "anchored" onto a table.
I guess there is no workaround for this is there?

  • Hyperlinks in numbers on ipad

I take it that hyperlinks on a spread sheet in Numbers on the Ipad is not supported? I've transferred an excel file with hyperlinks and the hyperlink is not there in Numbers. I'm i correct that hyperlinks are not available yet in Numbers on the Ipad.

For the iOS version it's available at :

Would be useful to get also the ones dedicated to the OSX applications.

  • Hyperlink in numbers for ipad 2 do not work why?

All the tutorials online said tha is automatic writing a valid url. But this in not real

Your friend was close, but forgot one thing. If you want it to be blank if either cell is MT, then you need an OR as well o test if either one or the other is blank...
    =IF(OR(ISBLANK(a1),ISBLANK(b1)),"",a1xb1)
The isblank can also be represetned by ="" in many cases, usually accompanied with a trim to make sure there are no spaces were entered...
    =IF(OR(TRIM(a1)="",TRIM(b1)="")),"",a1xb1)

  • Hyperlinks from Numbers open incorrectly

In Numbers' document I define a hyperlink to a csv file. That link opens in Safari (my default browser) as a text web page. So I have to save it as a file, then go and open that file manually in Numbers (and still later manually delete that file to avoid the disk clutter) . This is unacceptable, Firefox for example gives me an option of directly opening that link in Numbers (saves it in temp directory, and tells Numbers to open it).
So how do i get the Safari to do that?
Here is the link generated by Numbers:
    http://download.finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?s=FNMIX,FCNTX,FNORX,FIREX,FCYIX,F BALX,FSLBX,FIEUX,MINDX,&f=sl1d1t1c1ohgv&e=.csv
The idea here is this. My Numbers' document contains some stock symbols and the hyperlink to Yahoo to download a csv file with the latest prices. The idea was, click on the hyperlink which will open in a browser which will in turn download the file and automatically open it in Numbers so I can paste the most recent numbers back into my original worksheet. This is how Firefox works but not Safari.

I have a table in database that has files uploaded from front-end like XLS, DOC, PDF,TXt etc.
    >
in my humble opinion it's not good solution
why in table? why not use bfile?
if you want select blob from your table you must always download it to some directory on server in sql/plsql way
or if you use, as example, c#client then you can download it as byte stream to client side
if you use bfile then your file stored on some server directory and you can work with by ftp, http as for ebs sample
so in this case you can't have problem with attachment, you can use url+filename in your report
    --add

  • Limitations of number of populated cells in Numbers for iPad?

Does anyone know what the maximum parameters are for Numbers on iPad? I have searched for a knowledge base article on this but cannot find one. I am trying to bring in a excel sheet I converted to Numbers on my MacBook Pro and then brought it into Numbers on my iPad. It crashes midway through opening it on the iPad and I think its because of the file size and number of sheets. Before I redesign the spreadsheet to be smaller, I would like to know what the maximum size should be (rows, columns, sheets etc).

    nick_harambee wrote:
I too can't open a Numbers '09 file on the iPad. Its around 600KB with 7 sheets. Sometimes similar sized files open, sometimes not.
Is it crashing or is it giving wrong results ?
I understood that with the late changes it opened but some formulas give odd results.
I sent the test file to some one which is often on this forum.
Just hope that he will respond.

  • Numbers for ipad sizes of docs

Hallo, do you know if numbers for ipad do open edit and save an excel file of 1mb?

    Thanks a lot.

Conditional formatting does work in Numbers for both iPad and iPhone, but it involves using MS Excel.  Either copy or create your spreadsheet into Excel and create your desired conditional formatting.  Then transfer the spreadsheet to either iCloud Numbers or e-mail it to yourself and open it in Numbers on your mobile device.  The formatting doesn't completely work in the iCloud Numbers Beta version yet (read further), but it will work in the latest version of Numbers on iPad and iPhone.  Here's where it gets interesting: Even though iCloud Numbers Beta doesn't "show" the new cell formatting based on the data within, rest assured the conditional formatting is working in the background.  To prove it, make your data updates in iCloud Numbers Beta then open the spreadsheet on your mobile device to see the new formatting.  And, even more interesting: The snap shot of the spreadsheet in iCloud Numbers Beta will show the proper cell formatting!  So there's definitely something happening on the Numbers Beta server that isn't ported to the iCloud App yet.
I'm using this method right now to track engineering drawing releases through our detailing group.

  • Numbers in ipad crashes after deleting a file

when i try to delete a file from my numbers on ipad it crashes and i am forced to reset the engine. the app is updated. i reinstalled it. no result.

Apple’s iWork Team investigated the problem and subsequently asked me to check Accessibility settings and turn “Bold Text” OFF if it was set to ON. It was set to ON in my case. Turning “Bold Text” OFF fixed the problem. My iPad3 no longer freezes when deleting or renaming documents and spreadsheets.
Here’s how to do this if you want to give it a try:  Open the “Settings” app. Select “General” tab if it isn’t already selected. Open “Accessibility” page. The “Bold Text” option is ON if its switch is green. Turning it OFF will reset the iPad. Let us know if this works for you.

  • How can I export hyperlinks from Numbers?

I have a Numbers file with lots of hyperlinks used in it. I would like to export the data WITH the hyperlinks so that I can post it on my website. Exporting as CSV and copy-paste do not bring over the link references. Is there a way to do this?

    Francis,
You are going to Export... to CSV...
The important thing is to have a Table with one Header Row with field descriptions that EXACTLY match the field titles in Contacts.
The easiest way to do this is to Open a blank Numbers template and Delete the default table. Then drag a sample contact into the Numbers sheet, creating a table with the proper format. You may not see all the columns you need, so the next step is Unhide All Columns.
Give your transfer document a FileName.
Begin Pasting your data one column at a time, making sure that you are using the proper headings for the data. When you are done, double check that all the data is properly aligned.
    Save the Document.
Now File > Export > CSV.
In Contacts, Import the CSV file
    That's it.

  • Can't open previously created spreadsheet on iPad

    Hello--
I have an iPad 2.  Have had Pages/Numbers/Keynote for some time, but have only recently tried to start using them for work related stuff.
I cannot seem to get spreadsheets from my MacBook Pro to open on the iPad 2.  I've tried making them available via iTunes, I've tried opening them as e-mail attachments, I've tried opening in both numbers and excel format.
I could understand if this was a real hard-core spreadsheet, but this is a simple loan amortization schedule.  Only195kb in Numbers format and 459kb in Excel format.
    Suggestions?

I am also having the same problem. I cannot open a spreadsheet I created.  Very frustrating.  Have tried to update from app store but it has made no difference.  Can anyone help?

  • Problem when opening an iCloud-Numbers-Document

    Hello!
I cannot open a iCloud-Numbers-Document either on my iPad, neither on my MacBook. It only shows me an error message...
I hope you can help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan

I too have this problem, but I have found a work around for it.
First I turned off iCloud storage for Numbers in the settings on my iPad. Then on my iMac I logged into iCloud.com land there is a Numbers app, which is still in beta, clicked on it and choose the file I wanted and choose the option to download it. Once downloaded I fired up iTunes and tried to import it into Numbers, but that didn't work so I choose another app, I have Textastic imported into that and then on my iPad opened the app and choose to open with Numbers from there and it worked.
I have also emailed my spreedsheet to myself and choose the option the open with Numbers from there and it worked. This method should also work with Dropbox, which I haven't tried but I will be adding my spreadsheets there for backup!
Hope this helps, it's a bit of a long winded hack, but it works. Hope Apple fix this soon.
