Open in new window error shuts down Muse

In latest version of Muse when I like to set "Open in new window" I get this message:
and Muse is shutting down immediately. I am getting this message when I am setting the link into Lightbox widget.
Please advise.

In your documents folder, you should have a file MuseLog.txt. Could you send this file, as well as your .muse file, to [email protected] with a link to this thread? Also, if you could include a description of what element or text you were trying to apply this to, that would be helpful. If your file is over 20mb, you can use Adobe SendNow or SendThisFile. We'll take a look and see if we can't reproduce the issue.

  • Link to URL -- pdf should open in new window - Error

    Hi experts,
I have a Web Dynpro Application with an ALV and a link to url in one column. The code is ok. It works fine. When I click on the URL a new browser window opens with the correct URL, but I get an Error --> "The requested URL could not be retrieved".
It should be a pdf. But Acrobat Reader does not open. If I put the URL in Firefox Browser, it works perfect. Acrobat Reader opens and shows the pdf.
The same happens when I use Windows 2000 System with Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106.
I have normally Windows XP with Internet Explorer version 6.0.2900.2180 with sp2.
What can that be? On both computers I have the same version of Acrobat Reader with the same configuration.
Had someone of you this problem, too? Who can help?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,
    Ingmar

I answered it myself. I had to look that for the called server no proxyserver will be used...

  • Avi opens in new window - crashes - not responding

i embed an avi in director.
it works in win xp but not in win2000
avi opens in new window and crashes down.
how can i solve that problem?
    thank you,
    andi

    Hi Andi,
First, I don't quite follow what you mean by embedding the
    video.
Director always treats video as external casts. So, when you
    import an
AVI file, you just import a pointer to the file and that
    video needs to
be bundled with the Director movie when you want it to play
    on various
    computers.
    So, is that's what's happening?
The video could have a compression that the XP computer likes
    but is
problematic on the 2000 one. Try playing the video outside of
    Director
and see if it plays fine on each computer.

  • If Firefox is set as the default browser, and any application attempts to open a new window, this fails and I get the error "Firefox is already running..."

Here is what I am running:
Microsoft Windows 7, Service Pack 1, Fully updated to 4/10/2012
Fresh Install of Firefox 11. No add-ons enabled as a result of troubleshooting.
I am a user with administrator rights
    UAS is disabled.
To begin, this has been going on Since Firefox 10 or so. A few months now.
I am able to open Firefox. My add-ons worked (ABP, Flashblock, ABP Element Hiding Helper, IETAB2, Downthemall, Greasemonkey, 4chan extension) had no problems. Firefox is set and has been set for the last two years as my default web browser.
However Since approximately Firefox 10 or so, maybe before that, If I have a Firefox session open, and any other application attempts to open a session in a new window, I get the Firefox is already running, but not responding error."
I attempted to follow troubleshooting advice already posted (look for parent.lock files left behind [none present], multiple sessionstore.js files [none present], create a new user profile, attempted to clear out the "read-only" permission in windows 7, however as soon as it is cleared, the read only permission returns.)
As a last resort, I deleted the Firefox folder, the %APPDATA%/Mozilla directory in its entirety, then utilized CCleaner to remove any and all references to Firefox in the windows registry, then did a full re-install, no extensions installed right now.
I checked preferences and have the option "open new windows in a new tab" checked off. The problem persists regardless if this option is checked on or off. This problem persists in or out of safe mode, even with the brand new install.
    Test Cases:
    All cases:
Firefox is selected as the default browser for windows 7
Case 1: Open a firefox session. Utilize any other program that attempts to open a link to their website in a new browser window or new browser session. Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 2: Open a firefox session. Right click on Firefox on the task bar. Select "open in new window". Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 3: Open a firefox session. Select the Firefox Menu > New tab > New Window. A new window will actually open.
This is the only method of opening a new window in the same browser session or profile that actually works on my system. Attempting to open a browser session from the task bar "open new window dialog" or opening a new window while a current window/session is running will not open firefox in a new window or a new tab in the current session. The "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" error will occur every time.

Cor-el's suggestion resolved my problem. Apparently the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable was set to 1 on my system variables. I never made it, and really have no idea how it got there, but deleting this variable and restarting firefox has resolved the issue. Thanks Cor-el!
    Marking case: Solved
Solution: Verify the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable is NOT set to 1. This can be achieved by simply deleting this variable.

  • Doesn't start when starting as administrator. Error Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

Update firefox, it asked me to update flash, I tried to update flash but it said I had to close firefox. A box came up and said the Flash install would continue when I closed firefox. I closed all firefox windows and no update of flash occurred. I tried relaunching firefox but got the "Doesn't start when starting as administrator. Error Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." message. I rebooted the system, no improvement. I tried to run firefox as administrator and got the same message. Either I find a fix or I won't be able to use firefox and will have to go back to ie.

-> press '''CTRL''' + '''SHIFT''' + '''ESC''' to Open Task Manager -> Processes tab -> right-click '''firefox.exe''' and click '''End Process Tree''' -> close Task Manager

When I use the shortcut to open a new window in safari (command N) on my Macbook Pro, I get a 404 error message from Google. How do I change where 'Command N' routes to?

It's not necessary to change the Command N keystroke..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • When I try to open a new window in Firefox, I get an error message

When I try to open a new window in Firefox, I get the following error message:
    "Not Found
The requested URL /en-US/firefox was not found on this server."
...but other websites, such as Google or CNN.com, work just fine.
I'm running Firefox 3.6.28 on my MacBook Pro, with OS 10.4.11. I can't update to the latest version of Firefox unless I update my OS, which would be costly and also involve increasing my RAM.
But the Firefox homepage worked fine until this morning. Is this likely to be a temporary glitch? If not, how can I fix it?
    Thanks,
    Emmy

At least at the moment, the default Firefox homepage is back! So maybe this was a momentary glitch. But see below.
BTW, here's the URL for the page:
    http://start.mozilla.org/en-US/?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
'''But, '''the "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" currently lacks a menu bar at the top with various Google options such as "Gmail," "more," etc. I found these very useful.
I'm wondering -- did Google tell Mozilla to stop including those links on its start page? Maybe Google wants us all to switch to having Google as our default homepage. Or is the lack of a menu bar just another temporary glitch?

  • Unable to open a new window you must first close exsisting firefox process or restart your system. There is no firefox process running why should I receive this error msg?

I closed a Firefox process. Then clicked the FF icon to restart my browser. I received an error message. " Firefox is already running, but not responding. To open a new window you must first close existing Firefox process, or restart your system. However there is no Firefox process running to begin with. I checked the task manager.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

It takes Firefox 5-15 seconds to completely close and for the OS to release the processes; it may take longer if you have a Flash animation/video running in one of the tabs. If not waiting long enough is not the problem, you can try the following to determine if an Extension or Plugin might be causing Firefox to hang at exit.
    <u>'''Kill Application'''</u>
In Task Manager, does firefox.exe show in the <u>'''Processes'''</u> tab?
    See: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application Kill Application]
'''<u>Causes and solutions for Firefox hanging at exit:</u>'''
    [[Firefox hangs]]
    [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs#Hang_at_exit Firefox hangs at exit]
[[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
    <u>'''Safe Mode'''</u>
You may need to use '''[[Safe Mode]]''' (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes <u>'''before'''</u> starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
    See:
    '''[[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]'''
    '''[[Troubleshooting plugins]]'''
    '''[[Basic Troubleshooting]]'''
If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>'''one at a time'''</u> until the problem reappears. <u>'''You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change'''</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

  • I can no longer hold down the Safari icon on the dock and open a new window

I noticed after installing Snow Leopard that I am unable to hold down the icon for Safari on my dock and choose the option to open a new window. I have had to revert to (Command-Tabbing) through my open applications to get to Safari, then (Command-N).
I found it much more convenient to do it the other way. Am I missing something, or is this something that has been removed with the new Snow Leopard operating system?
    Please help. Thanks!

Thank you. What a pain though. Why would they make it a separate command now. It would be so easy to have kept it in the pop-up that shows when you hold the cursor down on it.

mail opens in new window, must close window to get to next msg, unable to arrow down to next msg, help?

from my son, in mail version 4.5,
In the "classic layout", at the bottom of your email list, there should be a thin gray bar with a little gray dot in the center.  Hover over that spot until the cursor turns into the "bar arrow" and drag it upward.  You messages should appear below like the second screenshot.  Alternatively, if you are using the newer version of Mac Mail, you could change your Preferences> Viewing to the "new layout".
