Open inquiries in quotation

hi,
i have a requirement ,
While creating Quotation (in VA21 create with reference) in inquiry field (in F4 help) it should show only OPEN Inquiries.
for this i have created a Z search help and added to VMVA search help.
In my Z search help I have used VBUP and VBAK tables.
in Selection conditions i wrote VBAK-VBTYP = 'A' (i.e. Quotation)
and VBUP-RFGSA NE 'C' (i.e. not completed)
but in VA21 it is showing all inquiries (i.e. open and closed).
But i just need OPEN inquiries.

First, in transaction VTAA, you have to set up copy control from the inquiry/quotation to your sales order. Then, you can create the sales order with reference to your inquiry/quotation, and the data will be copied. If needed, via transaction VOFM, you can maintain alternative data transfer routines to copy more data than the standard copy control does.

Mass convert Inquiries to Quotations

Hi SD Experts,
Can any one tell me how to mass create Quotations from Inquiries? Does SAP offer any standard program or transaction code to do this?

Till now I thought Inquiries will have only validity dates and expires after that date. I was under the impression that the valid inquiry can be referenced any number of times and there will not be any updation of the status of that inquiry (like open, closed etc.,)

Open quantity update in quotation

Hello,
How we can deal with Return orders where in we need to have quotations automatically updated with the returned quantity? What settings are required in the copy control?
The order is created with reference to quotation and the return order is created with reference to order.
Open quantity in quotation is decreased when an order is created with reference to quotation. Open quantity in quotation is increased when reducing quantity in order.
The issue is - return order created with reference to an order doesnu2019t increase the open quantity in the quotation

Hi Viju,
I have never seen this done in the system, normally this is controled by a business process, when the returns order is completed and there is a requirement to replenish the returned material normally the orignal sales order Qty is increased or there is another line added to the sales order and not called from the Quotation. This will keep the called off quantity in balance.

Script or GREP search line for missing quotation marks (opening or closing)

Hi there,
I've being trying to figure out a GREP search that will help me find quotations that haven't been opened or closed properly. Does anyone know if there exists a script that will mark/help me find the quotation marks that incorrectly stand alone? A GREP search line would be fine too.
Following is an example - just to make sure I made myself clear:
'why is the closing quotation mark missing after the question mark? I asked.
'I don't know, this line seems to be fine, with opening and closing quotation mark,' I answered.
Although this line is missing an opening quotation mark.'
Hope somebody can help me, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person searching for a solution on this issue - sorry, I'm not to bright with scripting or GREP.

As you say, it's not waterproof, but it is really helpfull, thanks. The unclosed quotation are easy to find this way.
In Dutch we mainly use single quotation marks (double quotation marks are only used for quotations within quotations). This brings an extra dimension to the issue, since the apostrophe and single quotation mark are the same character. So a phrase like ' I'm having problems finding unopened quotations' with your GREP suggestion will mark the apostrophe in I'm as the closing quotation mark.
So what I'll do is:
1. find unclosed quotations ‘[^’]+?‘ and mark them with a character style WARNING;
2. GREP search ’[^‘]+?’ two following closing quotation marks and make them C=100;
3. GREP search ’[^‘’]+?’ the correct quotations and mark it all K=100;
4. Do a regular search for '^$ any apostrophe/quotation mark followed by a letter and mark them all K=100;
5. Do a regular search for any closing quotation mark left in C=100 and manually WARNING-mark the ones that need to be looked at by the editor.
Step 4 is a bit tricky since any error like 'I agree,'he said (no space after quotation mark) will be marked back to K=100 as well, but those errors I'll probably notice since they're underlined by the grammar control option.

RH adding characters after opening quotation marks

I have just discovered that throughout my help project, RH has added characters after the occurrence of either single or double quotation marks.
So what should read as "values" reads as "r;values" in the editor and as &rvalues" in the compiled file.
In the editor, it also flips the opening set of quotation marks so they are facing the same way as the closing ones.
This is an especially big problem as a lot of the help content contains examples of logical expressions where these characters look as though they belong and will confuse the heck out of the user.
I should be able to remove them using find and replace but how do I stop it happening again?
I have tried adding quotation marks, then closing and re-opening the project and also compiling it but I can't seem to make it happen intentionally.

Open Quotations

Hi,
Is there any option other than VA25 to check the list of open quotations .I want the list of customers with there open quantites of quotation.

I am presently in the same boat as Rohit. VA25 could not fulfill this. I am working with my ABAP team with the business requirements on what they want to capture (open quotes, completed quotes, status of open quotes, materials on quote ordered vs not ordered and quantity)
I think you have to build a custom report as earlier advised. Involve your ABAP'ers with the requirements for the report.
If you have already achieved your objective, I am curious to know how you went about it, as I could use a pointer or two myself.

List of All(open /closed Inquires)

Can some one help me witht the program / main select Query that gives me the complete list of all the inquiresy (Open/Closed) unlike "VA15" gives only the details for open Inquires irrespective of the customer entered .If we need All inquires in "Va15" it ask for the customer code.I want all the inquires from certain period for all customer .I treid with Tcode "VA15N" but it doesnt show the inquiry description and the customer name .Its confusing for the users.Do some one have a "Z report for the same?

VA15N calls the function module SD_SELECT_SALES_DOCUMENTS to extract the data. Internal table structure T_VBMTV of this function module stores the extracted data (which include customer name etc.). Put an external break point on this function module & execute VA15N to see how the input parameters are passed to the FM.

Quotation Items are not displayed on SRM Web

Hi experts!
I did a program to create a quotation based on a Bid invitation.
My program creates the document correctly, but, when i try to show the quotation on the browser, the quotation items are not displayed.
If I open this same quotation on the SRM Gui (TCODE = BBP_PD), the quotation items are there.
Anybody in here already had this problem?

I got to fix my program!
My code is like that below:
ls_quot_item_e-src_guid = bid_items-guid.
ls_quot_item_e-src_object_type = 'BUS2200001'.
The business object BUS2200001 is the BO of Items of Bid Invitation, now, my reference is complete.
It works fine now.

Requirement for Quotation Report.

Dear Experts,
I have a requirement for Report for Quotation.
In the Report Client wants to see for Particular Quotation Inquiry Number, Inquiry Value, Sales Order and Sales Order Value.
I have checked in VBFA Table if the Sales Order is Open for that Quotation it doesnt gets updated in the VBFA Table.
Is there any other way I could capture the Sales Order Number for that particular Quotation.
Please suggest the way out.

Hi,
The logic would be
Give the input value as quotation number.
Pass quotation number into VBAK- VBELN and get VBAK-VGBEL to get Inquiry number
Pass quotaion number into VBAK-VGBEL and get VBAK- VBELN Sale order number
subsequently pass these Inquiry and quotation numbers and get the relevant details of Inquiry and Quaotation
check this logic using t.code:SE16n

Purchase Quotation only can be done by professional user?

I am concern about Purchase Quotation in 8.81 version, after did test for all type of license, only Professional license type can use this document, other license type (Limited Finance / Logistic / CRM) cannot use it. Is it true?

Yes, I did give full authorize for Purchase Quotation. But, system prompted this error message " You cannot open window Purchase Quotation with your current license."
Meaning that, only manager level (because normally manager will use professional license type) can do Purchase Quotation?
I thought quotation can be done by normal user because Quotation is a lowest document level in Procurement process, right?

Read in Quotation document total

Hi fellow developers,
Scenario : I want to open the Sales Opportunity window when someone tries to add a Sales Quotation and the document's total exceeds some amount (1000 lets say).
Problem : I cannot even for starters read in the total from the sales document for some reason under God's blue sky.

After approver reject RFx response(QUOT), is that possible tho open back?

We are now implementing SRM 7 EHp 1 and with workflow in RFx creation and evaluation. During RFx evaluation, once the approval reject the quotation and the status will turn into REJECTED. Is there anyway to open back the quotation in order leave it as rejected.
There is few scenario we facing at the moment.
1. 5 lines item. Bidder A been partial award 3 items and Bidder B partial award 2 item. Both quotation route to approval in awaiting approver status. If approval reject bidder A quotation and put a remark to purchaser that bidder B should get the full award (5 items). Is that possible to handle by the system?
2. 5 lines item. Bidder A been partial award 3 items and Bidder B partial award 2 item. Both quotation route to approval in awaiting approver status. The approval reject bidder A and accept bidder B. Could system handle the 3 items back to the sourcing cockpit?

Kindly refer to the thread Re: Quotation in Release Rejected Status, how does the purchaser can review it? , to solve your issue here.
As per the standard functionality delivered with SRM 701, purchaser user should be allowed to view the details for the Rejected RFx response and he also he will be provided with the Undo Reject option to re-submit the response for approval to the purchasing manager.

Thank you for the question. In our scenario, we are not quoting a specific quantity. We are quoting the scales. Below is a theoretical example:
Customer: 12345
Validity period: 21.03.2014 - 30.06.2014
Material: 123456 Widget with order UoM of EA
Price:
Up to 10,000 EA: $2.25/1EA
10,001 EA to 50,000 EA: $2.00/1EA
50,0001 +: $1.75/1EA
I am very familiar with inquires and quotations, and I understand that we can maintain scale price condition records and the price routine will determine the price based on the quantity of the inquiry, quotation, or order. Unfortunately, I do not have a quantity to enter in the quotation. I only have the scales. I do hope this clarifies the question.
