Open item manageable GL account

Hi
I have a gl account and there are around 10 documents posted and the gl master data was NOT set to open iteme maneable.Later we have activated Open item management for this GL account and able to save the GL master. Now if i go in to
F-03 to clear the GL account i am not able to display my documents though i have activated open item management in the GL.
Any sap recommendations?
Full points assured.
Thanks in advance.

When you run the program you get the following message:
Do not use the report program to set up open item management for the
account.
Create a new account with the correct account assignment. Post your
items to the new account. If you want to use the original account
number, you must bring the account balance to zero, change the account
assignment, and repost the items.
*You can remove the old items by
archiving the documents*

  • Posting in a non leading leadger with an open item G/L Accounts

    Dear all,
    Iu2019m facing the following problem.
    Iu2019ve a document posted in a non-leading ledger with a openu2013item G/L account.
I taught that this kind of posting is not permitted by SAP-standard.
    Is that so?
The management of G/L Account was never changed: it is always been defined as open-item in FS00..
    Thanks in advance
    Alberto

Correct, if your account is open item managed, then you CANNOT post to that account in individual ledgers.
Please check the setting 'Clearing Specific to Ledger Groups' in the 'Control Data' tab of GL account maintenance transaction FS00.  Please read the help on that checkbox.  If you check that checkbox, then you can post open items to that account in a specific ledger group and then also clear that item specific to that ledger group.

  • Change GL account cause Open Item and Recon account both set .

    Hi,
I have problem, user want to change a GL account into an open item ... an there was some transaction ... so I change it by ZRFSEPA02 ... and when I checked, that GL account had been changed into an open item, and when I try to open the "Block Posting " there was message " FH031 : Open item management is not defined for reconciliation accounts " ... then yet I check my GL and sadly it was set as " recon account vendor " ( I forgot to check the GL Before did ZRFSAPA02) .. and know my GL Account has been set as a recon account and an open item ... I try to changed by un-tik Open item .. message pop out is " FH087 : You cannot change the open item management setting; (see long text) " ... and I tried to change the recon account into " none " message appear : " FH110 : Modifications to reconciliation account not permitted " .. I realized by GL account display, that the transaction is not clear, there was not zero balance ...
    Please give me solutions ...

    Yes .. I Agree with you ...
Actually I accidently, did not check the GL first, but run the ZRFSEPA02 first .... because of that, my GL is check as an open item and as a recon account too ...
    any solutions ?

  • Activate "Open Item Management" for account, line items posted previously

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I am having a problem when do a clearing for GL account due to "open item management" check box in Txn FS00 is not activated and only "Line Item Display" is activated. For your info,  there are line items already posted and now we want this GL as an "Open Item Management". We are using ECC 6.0.
I did referred to a previous posting in this Forums Activate "Open Item Management" for an Asset, line items posted previously but i received these errors when following the solution. The errors are like below:
*Account 0039091200 is a reconciliation account in company code 5000
*Company code 5000 is not considered for the activation
What does it means by these errors? How do i rectify this error?
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    Nazrul

    Hi,
    1. Executing report RFSEPA02 has a risk and also doubtful since it is not applicable in ECC 6.0 (New GL).
    2. Create a New G/L with Open item management and transfer the balance to the newly created G/L.
Refer the earlier threads / replies else last option contact SAP (OSS).

  • Open Item Manage - GL Account

    Hi,
I have earlier created a GL Account without choosing the option of Open Item Manage.  Now this account has certain entries and have balance.
Can anybody guide me for converting this account into "Open item managed".
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hi,
If you want to change the flag "open item management", you need to follow the steps described in message FH087:
"If you want to switch this function on retroactively for a certain account, you should create a new account with the correct setting and use this to make a transfer posting of existing items."
"If you want to switch off the open item management function   retroactively for an account, you must first clear all the postings   currently on this account. You cannot make any changes to the account  management method until this is done."
The only  possible workaround available for the same is:
Create a new account with the correct account assignment. Post your items to the new account. If you want to use the original account number, you must bring the account balance to zero, change the account assignment, and repost the items. You can remove the old items by archiving the documents.
Please assign  points if it useful.

  • Partial payment tab problem when clearing two open items in vendor account

    Dear All,
I have the problem with partial payment procedure.
As SAP is presenting the process, partial payment should work as follows (i.e. with vendor):
    1. Incoming invoice is posted -> Credit -100
    2. Credit note is posted  -> Debit +20
    3. Payment (without clearing) is posted to vendor account -> Debit +50
I'll run transaction F-44 and go to tab "Partial payment".
I see 3 items (as above).
    I mark Item -100 and +20
I double click in filed next to -100 and it changes to -20
An now it should make no posting but only assignemet of one item to another.
But in my case, if I click "save" icon, it makes postings Debit 20 and Credit -20 on vendor account.
Is there any possibility that such clearing will not generate any posting but just make assignement of one item to another. Or maybe there is something wrongly configured in the system. At the moment the partial payment makes some kind of residual items.
    Thanks in advance for replay.
    Best regards
    Greg

    Hello,
Yes, it's right, whenever we clear vendor or custmoer account, the system creates document, but as I remeber from other instalations, the document had header but there was no postings.
It case described, the system creates posting:
    40       Vendor      20 EUR
    50       Vendor      20 EUR
This is strange for me. As ther should be clearing document but with no postings.
Have you got any idea how to configure the system, so partial payment tab in clearing transactions creates clearing document but with no phisical postings.
    Best regards
    Greg

  • Automatic Clearing - Open Item GL Account

    Dear Friends,
We have created the Bank Clearing Account as an open item management account. The account would be credited while making the payment to the vendor thru automatic payment run and debited once the payment has been cleared from the Bank. We would like to do the automatic clearing of the open items like GRIR account. Could you please advise what maintenance is to be done on the Config side and which T Code is to be used.
    Thanks for the help!
    Regards

    Dear Raj,
Bank clearing accounts is used to for Bank Reconciliation purpose . If you like to automate this process you have to configure Electronic Bank Statement process. You can check the below links

  • Posting to G/L accounts with open item management not permitted Fagl_post

    Dear Expert,
When i run the foreign cur rev. through FAGL_FC_VAL then system is not post the currency rev on open item on GL account.  It showing subject message and also show below mesaage:-
    Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
    Diagnosis
You use GL account 210012 in company code 1000 with open item management. However, posting  are not permitted G/L accounts in individual ledger with open item management.
    Please advice on this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hello Pankaj,
Is your adjustment account was defiined as OI management. if yes, then t is generally not permitted to use the O/I managed account as an djustment account. The adjustment account is the same as O/I
managed GL account, so the error message FAGL_POST_SERVICE012 is issued. This is justified because open items must be made valid for ALL ledgers in the client but FAGL_FC_TRANS posts ledger specific posting by having ledger group in the document header - Ledger Grp 0L.
The best solution is to assign non-O/I managed account as an adjustment account, and this is the 'standard' solution. Please also check note 884639.

  • GL Account Change - How to Transfer the pending open items

    Hi
I am working on a critical issue.  Currently I have a open item managed clearing account which got already some postings.  Now, due to some reasons, I would like to change this GL account to a new GL account.  I can make a transfer entry to pass the opening balances from old account to new account.
But, my issue is what will happen to open items.  How will be the open items get cleared for the old account.  Is there anyway I can transfer the lines item wise?
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

    Hi
Thanks for your suggestion.  But, I am not sure it may work like that.  Because, let me explain the problem with examples:
My old GL account is 1000 and my new GL account 2000.  Under 1000 GL account, I have two open items A and B with $100 and $200 respectively.  When I open a new GL account, I will start my new GL account with an opening balance of $300.
When I want to clear the above lines, how can I clear because, all my future postings will be done in 2000 whereas the line items are in 1000.  It will be an automatic posting to 2000 and auto clear.
    Is there any way.
Thanks.  The full points will be given to you.
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

  • URGENT PL - Transfer of open items to new GL account

    Hi
I am in middle of a crucial situation.
My situation is like this. My current GL account is non-open item managed account. I have some thousands of line items for this account. I would like to open a open item managed account for a different purpose. I would like to transfer all these balances to the new GL account. Please note that it is not just transferring of balance. It must be transfeered each line item wise, instead of transferring a single balance. I have one more old account with the same scenerio which is a open item managed account and which should be transferred to a new account which is also a open item managed account.
My base requirement is to transfer all the current account open items to new account open items as line items instead of total balance. Is there any way to do so.
Please note that when we use F-04 with Transfer posting with clearing option, it will clear all the current line items in the old account and post the net balance to the new account.  This is not what I want.  In the new account, I would like to see all the line items also as open items.
Please suggest me.  Full points will be awarded for the right suggestion.
    Thanks and Regards
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
This is only possible with program FAGL_SWITCH_TO_OPEN_ITEM which is available from ECC6.0 EP3.
    See note 175960.

  • "Open Item Managed" for Bank GL accounts

I am trying to tell my users that they should set the bank GL accounts (not the bank clearing account) as "open item managed".  Our users have been clearing the bank accounts down to make it exactly the same as the bank statement.  All the SAP Helps and manuals suggest that bank accounts shouldn't be open item managed.  But what is the implication?  Is there any auidt issue?
    Thanks

    Hi
The main Bank Account is the GL Account that is used for all the accounting transaction by default including the payment transactions. Bank Sub Account is used as a clearing account for payment transaction to track the payments that are not yet cleared by the bank. It would not make sense to make the main Bank account Open Item managed from accounting perspective. This account will come into picture when actual clearing happens and gets confirmed from the Bank.
It may not be an Audit related perspective.

For this error, i have already untick the Open Item Management

Aslo see help on open Item managed field by pressing f1
    Indicator: Open Item Management?
Determines that open items are managed for this account.
    Use
Items posted to accounts managed on an open item basis are marked as open or cleared. The balance of these accounts is always equal to the balance of the open items.
    Procedure
Set up accounts with open item management if offsetting entries are to be assigned to the postings made to these accounts. Postings to these accounts represent incomplete transactions.
    Example:
A goods receipt/invoice receipt (GR/IR) clearing account should be managed on an open item basis so that you can check at any time whether invoices have been received for the goods received for an order.
Set up accounts without open item management if no offsetting entry is to be made against a posting to this account.
    Examples
Accounts that are managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
Accounts that are not managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
Reconciliation accountsThese are managed implicitly using the subledger open item function.Profit and loss accounts
Materials Management (MM) accounts posted with a posting key that has account type 'M'
