Open items splitting -Go live

Hi,
In case of ECC 6.0,will the legacy open items like Customers/Vendors /GL split during the data upload in case of fresh implementations.
What is the configuration required for the same to happen.
Please let me know.

To the extent i have understood your question the answer would be like this.
In ECC 6.0 by default document splitting is to be activated by default and accordingly the open items of your Customer/Vendor/GL will also be having the split character.There is no other customization required for openitems specifically.

    Dear All,
    We have upgraded from 4.6 to ecc 6.0 .I have a problem of document splitting .
    Suppose there is open item of previous year i.e vendor  and after 1.4.09 the liability is transferred to another vendor the system gives me error that' profit center field in line item 001 is not filled' which seems correct as open item before 1.4.2009 does not have profit center.If the same liability is paid through bank than bank a/c is maintained in 3kei and document gets posted.
    Also when salary is paid ,some salary is deducted for paying lic premium so salary payable account is credited  on 31.3.09 and after 1.4.09 the same a/c is debited and credit is given to LIC OF INDIA.
    Both payable a/c and lic of india are balance sheet items and system gives me error while posting the documents.
    If the same transactions are after 1.4.09 the system inherits prctr from previous transactions but since in above examples there is no prctr in previous documents the system throws error message
    'profit center field in line item 001 is not filled' .
    Kindly provide me suggestions

    But my client is to close books of accounts so it is having the said requirement of vendor to vendor transffer,kindly suggest me other alternative

    We have done document splitting in 2011, Now all open items before 2011 to be migrated into the new fiscal year (2011).
    Please suggest us how to migrate all the open items into new GL with document splitting activated?

    Hi Raghuvir,
    There were critical reasons why the split of the open line items of prior years has not provided within the standard migration scenarios.
    The structure and the account assignment information of the already posted documents from the prior years is probably does not satisfy the new document splitting. Therefore it is not possible to split the documents form phase 0 (migration cockpit) based on the new the splitting rules set in the customizing.
    It is also too critical to allow a customer based split in the BAdI since it cannot be garanteed if the sum of split amounts in all the
    currencies still equal the old amount. Furthermore it cannot be traced any more where the split amounts are coming from which would lead to a problems regarding the auditability of the new g/l migration.
    The only possiblity that SAP can offer to the customers is to take over the split amounts from the already existing SL ledgers which have been used before the migration to new g/l.
    I believe that this answer your inquiry. I am sorry that I cannot give you a more positive answer regarding your issue.

  • Line item split - open item clearing (FB05)

    Hi,
    when clearing open items we need to preserve the line item split in clearing document as it was in cleared items. For example if we have two line items with different assignment (ZUONR) system generates only one line item in the clearing document (where amount is equal to sum of amounts from both cleared items). We need one item per assignment in clearing document. Thanks for any suggestions.

    You can always go to the "Analysis" button in the Condition Tab of the Particular Line Item and see what has exactly happenned.
    Now to understand your setting.... Was that Manual Condition Type .. A Header Condition ....In process... Once you enter a value in the Header Level automatically it will be transfered to the Line Items in the document ???

  • NewGL  Migration -  Process  Open items BADI

    Hi , 
    We are migrating with   document  splitting, in the  process  document split for open items BADI we  can assign a account assignment  object to enrich the document with the splittign characteristics defined.  Currently  it works for   blank  open item  docuemnts ( meaning if the business area is blank it fills with the right value)  but if the field  already  as values, it throws a validation error, that the field changes are not permitted  Error FAGL_MIG_022.
    Any help on  how to replace the old  values to new values will be appreciated. Its  for Business area and its defined as
    split characterittics  with required  indicator.

    I think It's more of question for business users, coz you can accommodate either way;
    1) Upload balances with original invoice rate, so that at payment correct forex gain/loss will be booked.
    2) Alternatively,Business 'Realize' the forex diff. at the go-live date, and upload the balance in Gain/Loss GL accordingly. Now, all the AR/AP balance are uploaded with the rate maintained at go-live date, and later on SAP will calculate the diff. between the payment date and go-live date. This way also forex is booked correctly in accounts.
    I'd suggest option 2 because it's straight forward. In option 1, you will have to upload the exch.rates for each invoice which could be different.

  • Open item mgmt activated for A/C with old program instead of new in NEW GL

    Our version is ECC6.0 (EHP3) and activate NewGL, the open item management parameter for the account was forgot choosing during go live, Now the account have actual posting ,we can't tick open item management parameter directly. so we run these programs are ZFSEPA02 and ZFSEPA03. 
    the program run successfully and activated the Open Item mgnt but now this is giving error "document splitting error; no open items to processXXXX/XXXXXXXXX/XXXX", because these programs only for below ECC6.0, unfortunately couldnt run the new program which is suitable with NEW GL(ECC6.0)
    checked even with FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP and OSS 175960 but there are other threads which are not suggesting this.
    Please, valuable suggestions are needed, I know there are many threads which spoke about this but not in this same case.
    hoping to solve this issue with great ideas from all SAP gurus.

    the note you specified (1309427) tells :-
    "Solution
    Use the log (transaction SLG1, object FAGL, subobject OPENITEM) to find the clearings specific to ledger groups. Use these documents as templates to manually make the return postings using transaction FBB1. If you require help with regard to the manual return posting, contact SAP Support and refer to this note."
    with this I understand that for the account, the program(trns FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP) executed is not able to post to rest of ledgers except the leading ledger and need to post by manually in FBB1? what is return postings in the note?
    for more information for the account used is a balance sheet account and has open items after execution of old program "Z"RFSEPA02. so while trying to clear them by F-03 it sends the above(in 1st port) mentioned error. Here I understand that first need to post(clear) manually to those open items which are posted before marking OI. am I right?, please enlighten me.

  • Deleted Items Appearing on the FBL3n Report for Open Items

    Hi All
    We just went live and I am facing a huge issue;
    I deleted many migration entries from loads of GL Accounts for multiple Co Codes, but on the FBL3n report, whenI execute with the option of 'Open Items' only, I  still see the deleted items with a green check sitting there.
    How can i get those from being visible?

    Hi:
                This is standard behavior. Your GL accounts are managed on line item basis hence despite of the fact you reversed the entries they will continue to be shown in open item selection criteria which in fact are not open items. It makes no sense to see a GL account in FBL3N on open item date since this account has been configured on the basis on line item management and i will continue to be shown as line item with green sign . Execute report FBL3N with open item or with all item (with date you give in open item) you will see the same figures and same line items. However you can exclude the reversed entries by fetching reversed with (BKPF-STBLG) field from menu ..settings...special fields and hence excluding the entries having this filed update.
    I hope this will solve your issue.

  • Vendor Open Item Was Not Offset After a Replacement Check

    Hi FI Guru,
    We have an issue with vendor replacement check.  Our vendor open item still apears in FBL1N after a replacement check is paid.  We initially issued a check against a vendor invoice and we had to void that check because due to check printing problem.   The check was cancelled in FCH8.  We then issued a replacement check in F110.  When I displayed open items for the vendor in FBL1N, the vendor invoice still showed up.  The replacement check already sent to our vendor.  So we have to apply the payment to the vendor's invoice.  It seems the second transaction (for the replacement check) is incomplete because I dont't think it hits our bank account.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Is there another transaction our user needs to offset vendor invoice?
    2) If we have to fix it manually, what is the best option to offset the open vendor invoice and still be able to hit our bank account.
    Any help is appreciated.

    In order to change the Open Item Management for a G/L account using
    ZFSEPA02 the line item total(Total of open items)for this account
    should match/tally with the account balance for this account (FS10),
    otherwise the open item activation will not be possible.
    Unfortunately as per note 175960 you find reports RFSEPA02/ RFSEPA03
    are no longer supported as of release 4.5A.
    ALTHOUGH you can find a possible solution on how to tally the line items
    to the balance in the NOTE 403744.
    1.  Active New General Ledger
             This note applies ONLY WITH RESTRICTIONS to Release ERP 2004 or ERP
             2005 with activated New General Ledger and activated document
             splitting.
             In these releases, it is not currently possible to subsequently
             activate the open item management under the specified conditions.
             The only option currently available is to set up a new account with
             open item management and to use this instead of the original
             account.
             However, it is also possible to deactivate the open item management
             using report ZFSEPA03 under the prerequisites described below.
         2.  Migration to the New GL:
             If you are planning to migrate to the new General Ledger using a
             migration type that enables the use of document splitting, ensure
             that in Phase 1 and Phase 2 NO changes are make to the open item
             management. Phases 1 and 2 indicate the period between the migration
             date and the end of the actual migration (the "Migration Completed"
             indicator is set)

  • Clearing GL with Open Item Management

    Dear Experts.
                    A liability GL (Remuneration Gl account) has been created by the client in the system without open item management. After that several entries has been posted in that GL account. Few months back they have activated Open Item Management for that GL using a program.Now they want to clear few entries in that GL account and while clearing the GL in F-03 system is displaying an error
    Document splitting: Items for clearing 1000/9300000661/2012/001 not found
    Message no. GLT0002
    Diagnosis
    Document splitting cannot perform clearing because it was not possible to find complete splitting information on the items to be cleared (company code, document number, fiscal year, item).
    System Response
    Clearing cannot be performed and the document cannot be posted.
    Procedure
    Exclude the affected item from clearing.
    It may be that this item was not posted with active document splitting. In this case, this item or document would have to be migrated.
    This error occurs due to the Open Item Management activation in the GL after entries were posted.
    Now the client wants to clear few entries in this GL account for which Open Item Management was activated recently. The client is not willing to create a new GL and post transfer entries. Is there any other possibility to clear this GL account.
    Please provide your valuable suggestions.

    The reason for the error GLT0002 is that there is no values for
    document in tables FAGL_SPLINFO and FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL
    Regarding the clearing process in the FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP:
    The clearing of the 'old' items is the standard process in the report.
    Here is the part from the documentation:
    (Please review the documentation on FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP via se38
    enter in FAGL_SWITCH_TO_OPEN_ITEM view documentation)
    The system then activates open item management and clears all existing
    open items. After this clearing, you have the option of having the
    system repost the amounts that were initially written off.
    This is done to start newly with the OI management once it is activated.
    So if you want to activate the OI management for an other account in
    your  system, please take into account that the clearing should NOT be
    opened again in standard.
    I would request you to please read the documentation in SE38 for FAGL_SWITCH_TO_OPEN_ITEM
    and please check whether all criteria's are fulfilled or not.

    Document splitting :-Item for clearing 1000/100020603/2006/005 not found,
    Daignosis as given in error:-document splittting cannot be performed clearing because it was not possible to find complete splitting information items to be cleared(company code 1000, doc. no.100020603, item 005). procedure as provided by the error massage is that the item  was not posted  with active document splitting. In this case this item or document would have to be migrated

    If you need information about open line items of a certain day, you have to use ABAP.

  • Z report logic- Customer open item analysis

    Dear Experts
    Our client is using S_ALR_87012178 report for customer open items due analysis.
    Now,here they also need sales group wise & division wise split up. Sales group from SO, not CMR, since   a single/same customer may have different sales groups for different SOs.
    I tried.. but no other report..satisfying this..
    So, decided to go ahead with a new Z Development , wherein I plan to call in the program to our customized prgram/report &  then to code it, so that sales group & divison are reflected to the corresponding customers.
    Now, the challenge is, most (infact all) of the std credit management reports are customer master based, but this requirement (sales group & division) is transaction 9from SO) based.
    Now, how do we write the logic/join the tables for me to write FSpec, so as to develop  a Z Report.
    Anticipating your guidance/suggestions/help.

    this is to inform you that,
    take the program with RFDOPR10 copy the same program under the name of Z report.
    add these fields in selection screen and keep them mandatory on the selection screen & take logic from these tables and fields
    1. Sales Group - VBAK-VKGRP
    2. Division - VBAK-SPART
    take the program with RFDOPR10 copy the same program under the name of Z report.
    i think so you cannot capture the total functionality of RFDOPR10 which is the extract of plenty of tables.
    finally if it is exectued then entire effort goes invain.
    so my suggestion is catch hold of ABAPER and follow the above.
    note : if sales group wise and division analysis is coming in the same report then it is very to populate the data from the Z report.
    first confirm that.
    if it is coming then go ahead with Z reprot itself

  • Interest Calculation on only future Open items

    Hi,
    We are adopting the interest calculation functionality, we do not want to calculate interest on past open items, i.e, if we go-live on 15.06.08 we do not want to calculate interest on open customer items before this date. We want to calculate interest for all future open items after 15.06.08.
    Does anybody has any answer for this. Can you please guide me in this.

    While creating reference interest indicators give the calulation from date (your required date). Then the system will calculate from date whatever you have mentioned.

  • Switch on open items for ECC 6.0

    Hi gurus: With reference to SAP OSSNote 175960 - RFSEPA02/03 not supported as of Release 4.5A.....
    We have ECC6.0 here, with active new GL as well as document splitting. I want to switch on open items for an account that has postings in it.
    I copied RFSEPA02 to ZFSEPA02 and changed coding per note 175960. I checked the program and it has table GLT0 referenced in the code. It was my understanding the GLT0 is not populated if you activate the new GL.
    When I execute ZFSEPA02, it comes up with an error message "Line items do not match totals"....When debugging, it appears that SAP is looking at GLT0 to get a total balance. If it doesnt match with the line items SAP generates the same error message.
    The note also says that "This note applies ONLY WITH RESTRICTIONS to Release ERP 2004 or ERP 2005 with activated New General Ledger and activated document splitting. In these releases, it is not currently possible to subsequently activate the open item management under the specified conditions. The only option currently available is to set up a new account with open item management and to use this instead of the original account. "
    What do I do? I dont want to create a separate GL account..Should I change the code to refer to table FAGLFLEXT instead of GLT0?

  • FI-FM: Partial clearing on account assignment (tcode fmfg_aapay)-No open items found

    Hello!
    We have activated business function PSM_USFED_PPAP3, then :
    -  Federal Government Functionality - activated ;
    - settings in Financial Accounting (new)---> Basic Settings --> Ledgers --> Partial clearing on account assignment:
                   - Activate partial clearing by acc.assignment:   Check
                   - Maintain relevant ledger for Split view : no entries maintained (there is only one ledger "FM", which is the leading ledger, no special purpose ledgers)
                   - Set supported document types: KR
                   - Set payment block: B
    Other settings:
         - FM activated, update profile 000101, document splitting (method 00...012), splitting characteristics: vobelnr, knbelnr, fipos, geber, gsber, fkber;
    document type KR : business transaction 0300 (vendor invoice).
    When we use tcode FMFG_AAPAY no open items are found (message FMFG_AAPAY009), even though there is a vendor invoice posted (tcode FB60, document type KR). The invoice is displayed in FBL1N as an open item and it is split according to the splitting characteristics (e.g. table fagl_splinfo is showing the split vendor items).
    Can you, please, explain why there are no open items found in FMFG_AAPAY?

    Dear all,
    I am closing this issue since I got the solution apart from the mentioned above.
    There is no need to change the Document Type since that will only change the Document type for e.g. from KZ to ZR, nothing will happen in the accounting entry.
    Solution was there in the "Posting rule" which i defined for making Cheque Payment.
    There are options of "Posting Type" - 1 which is for "Post to G/L Account" - In this case, system will Post the following entry Dr. Outgoing Bank Account & Cr. Main Bank Account without looking for any "Open Item".
    Posting Type" - 4 is for "Clear Debit G/L Account", menans that if you are having "Open Items" and you want to clear those then only use this posting key.
    While testing I had not posted any payment to vendor in Bank Outgoing Account hence no question of having "Open Items" in Bank Outgoing Account. And I had made the selection of "Posting Type" - 4, which require "Open Items" for direct clearing, hence was getting the subject error.
    This is for everybodies information.

  • GL Open Item Managed Flag Changed Historically - Orphan items left on acct

    Back in 2000 for some of our GLs the Open Item Managed flag was changed.  Initially it was not checked but now it is. We know that SAP doesn't really let you do it anymore but apparently back then whoever did it didn't follow what was then the suggested procedure.  As a result we have an account balance of say 500,000 which I can see in FS10N however if I run it for all open items in FBL3N I get 450,000 because 50,000 are not open or cleared.  I can't go in and clear these off against anything because they are not open item managed.  Is there a program that can be ran to make them open? 
    I thought RFSEPA01 would do the trick and after running it in our QA environment the log states:
    Line Items Year Remark
             1 2000 Document selected
             1 2000 Document changed
    However when I go to F-03 it still won't bring the documents in as it says they are not open item managed.
    Sure enough if I go look in table BSIS at the document the Open Item Managed flag is not set. 
    What's the best procedure to resolve these?  Do I have to create a Z program that will flag the Open Item Managed field (XOPVW) and then clear these documents off against something?

    Please check the SAP note 175960.                                                                               
    As explained in the note 175960, is not possible to subsequently          
    activate the open item management under some conditions.                                                                               
    With NewGL, the split information on open items is stored in              
    FAGL_SPLINFO and FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL which are only updated when the         
    document is being posted through active document split. Also RFSEPA02     
    does not update these tables.                                                                               
    If you are NOT using NEW/GL with doc split (inactive), you may create     
    add-on report by copying RFSEPA02 and adding modification on the report   
    per note 175960.                                                                               
    As the note states, if you decide to take RFSEPA02 approach,     
    please do so at your own risk. Possible problems (such as data            
    inconsistency) can only be handled by SAP within chargeable remote               
    consulting.
