Open mailbrowser with attachment
Hello together!
I need to open the window to send a new mail and attach a file to it, but I need to be platform independend.
Is that possible and if yes can anybody give me a link of a similar example so that I can get familar with it?
Or is it better to use Desktop.mail()
(but there the problem is the dll)
Thanks for your help.
it seems that Mustang does not support desktop.mail(Message msg) in JDIC) package.. so no way to do so

New to this device and forum. Trying to open email with attachment I click on the attachment and click save from the full menu and nothing happens. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I can open and click and view easy on my pc. BB8330 with Verizon service. Thanks Jim
hello,
when you chose "save", it saved the message and not the attachment.
saving a message is like tagging it so that you can find it more easily by going to the tagged messages folder (the name of that folder is "saved messages".
what is the filetype of the attachment ? did you have a line called "Open attachment" ?

On Mac, Firefox crashes when opening Yahoo Mail with attachment
On IMAC using OS 10.4 Firefox crashes completely when using Yahoo Mail to open email with attachment. Also crashes when attempting to attach photo to outgoing email. Email without attachments do not crash Firefox.
Installing a Flash plug-in took care of this problem

How do I get Keynote to open a PPS attachment in Mail using OS 10.8.5
It now opens automatically with Preview and I want to change this to KeynoteOne more thing. I know you can do the "get info thing" and then change the "open with" however this only works when I drag the attachment to the desktop NOT in Mail.

I have iPad 4th Generation with iOS 6.1.3 Since my iBooks was updated to version 3.1.1 I cannot open pdf file attachment in my email. When I tap of the attachment, the iBooks icon no longer show itself. Can someone please help?
Thanks for all (Ocean20 & Courcoul) who replied.
Reset the device did not help me but it does triggers me to attempt to resend the PDF file attachment on email--and it works the 2nd time. My problem is now solved.
The Adobe Reader is very helpful--it allows me to scroll through the document easily, unlike iBooks, where I cannot scroll straight up or down. -

When I try to send an attachment using Word for MAC people have a hard time opening it with a PC. Can I do anything different?
shldr2thewheel already sent a teach-yourself way. Perhaps you could be more specific: any .doc file written in Mac OS is opened with difficulty? what version of Office on mac and what version in windows? any format, e.g. .doc or .rtf? Even a simple rtext of, say, 2-3 pages? or only long docs, e.g. 100 pages or more? what language is used? English or any other West European, Latin based text, or other scripts too? What do you understand by ‘people have a hard time opening it with a PC?’ takes a very long time? or does not open at all? etc. etc.

Open Default Email Editor with attachment
How I open default email editor with attachment. Now I can just open the email editor with mailto,subject,body BUT i cant open it with a attachment, which is in a server.

es5f2000 wrote:If you can use 1.6, Desktop.mail() will at least open the mail application, though it won't let you auto-attach. If you must use 1.5, you may have to hand-roll a solution for each environment you support. I'm not personally aware of any 1.5-compliant library that provides this functionality.Since youve replied, the 1.6 solution of opening an email but without an attachment is not good much use to me, and the creation of various support files and putting them into an attachment is the part of the process that the user has most problems with. So either I could either just create the attachment somewhere and let the customer handle the whole email side of things OR I could make use of the fact that my customers email address is embedded in their license and that an smtp server can be used to send an email from anyone, to open a form for the user to write a problem description and then send it from within my application, but the trouble with this approach is they can't have full control over the email they send. -
How do you open a .dat attachment with Lion?
Can anyone tell me how to open a .dat attachment now the Lion no longer supports the Tnef Enough program?
The problem is that MS Outlook thinks that it is sending attachments to another Windows-based Outlook installation (actually its MS Exchange that's the culprit but we won't go there). So an easy fix is to have your son change your entry in his Outlook address book to indicate that you cannot receive RTF format files.
Also, you can download a very nice app, TNEF's Enough http://www.joshjacob.com/mac-development/tnef.php
It will enable you to drag and drop those pesky .dat files into TNEF where the attachment will open and enable you to save the individual files in their proper format. -
HOW TO SEND A HEBREW EMAIL WITH ATTACHMENT USING DEMO_MAIL
Hello All,
This is Not a question , just attaching something I've implemented and might be interesting for few of us,
This package I'm attaching allows to send Hebrew Language email + attaching files to it.
This package is based on demo_mail package (combined here but you can search at google for more example information if needed).
My Package is supplied as is , for any specific information regarding it , please contact me directly at : [email protected] or POST here.
* Please also note , that this package allow file to be attach via URL (meaning you will have to define a link to this file, if you would like to implement a link to a local file , e.g : c:\temp\myfile , you will have to customize the package your self with database directories option etc ...)
First I will attach an example of how to use it :
==================================
begin
demo_mail_heb.send_html_mail_attach(p_sender => '[email protected]',
p_recipients => '[email protected]',
p_subject => 'שלום וברכה עולם',
p_data => '<hr><b>בוקר טוב</b><hr>',
p_file_name => 'but_choose_file.gif',
p_file_mime_type => 'application/pdf',
p_file_URL => 'http://10.172.246.160:7777/i/but_choose_file.gif');
end;
Second Here is the Package (please note you will have to modify few settings in order to enable it , such as mail server address ..etc)

How do I open a mime attachment on my iphone ?
How do I open a mime attachment on my iphone email?
You can't.
All attachments must be encoded before being sent and MIME 1.0 is the industry standard for message encoding.
When receiving a message with an attachment file type that cannot be recognized by the email client and/or by the computer/device used, MIME attachment will appear instead.
This can mean the attachment that was sent is a file type that cannot be accessed/viewed by the iPhone. I also see the same on occasion when a received message was forwarded by the sender and the message received by the sender contains an attachment that can be accessed/viewed by the iPhone but the original message that was forwarded was composed in HTML which can do screwy things with email on occasion - personally I wish HTML would be forbidden with the exchange of email - this along with forbidding the use of the AOL program to send email with attachments. -
Problem by Sending an Email with attached Adobe Interactive Form (Code)
Thanks. I have written Programm, but it does not work as i want it to do. I will send an Email with attached Adobe Interactive Firm to [email protected]. I tried it with "*lo_recipient = cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( sy-uname )" at the marked(bold, fat) position. It worked but the Email was send to my SAP-Account, but i want to send to [email protected], so I tried this (see at code in bold, fat):
lo_rec TYPE adr6-smtp_addr VALUE '[email protected]'. " Empfänger Receiver
lo_recipient = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address( lo_rec ).
But it doens`t send the email.
Can anybody help me please???

How can I email a document created on Pages '08 that doesn't have to be opened as an attachment by
the recipients????
(I am using AT&T email)"when I try save to PDF it just wants to save it to a file?"
Correct. The difference between "Mail PDF" and "Save PDF" is that the first opens a new Mail message with the file attached. the second saves a file which you may attach to an email message.
"Terrainathome is a good example of what I am trying to do."
Not familiar with Terrainathome, but my guess is that the company is sending an email message containing HTML code that downloads what's essentially a web page into the displayed message. To do that, you'll need a website, software that will produce the necessary HTML code, and recipients with email clients capable of interpreting HTML (which is 'most email clients' these days).

Barry
