Open Nat for WRT54GSV4

Ok i been tryin to get my NAT set to open for MW2 for abit now but cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Can anyone please help me with opening the NAT for this router for Modern Warfare 2 on the PC, not Xbox or PS3.  Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Honestly ive never had to mess with my routers ports before and honestly dont know exactly how to do it right. I know where to go in the routers settings im just abit foggy on what numbers to put in where. There are 4 boxes across each line 2 for port triggering and 2 for port forwarding, then the option to enable it. Dont mean to sound like an idiot but abit more help would be greatly appreciated Thanks for the help btw greencross

  • How to open NAT for Linksys E1000 on PS3?

    question in title:
it seems as though my gameplay on my ps3 has been very THICK(lag and delay on screen), I have tried changing the MTU and some other options and I already notice the difference but i think I can maximize my lag-free gaming if I completely open up NAT on my PS3.
Does anyone have a great guide that works?
Also would changing the MTU/ Disabling UPnP and unchecking anonymous internet requests effect my Download/Upload speeds or anything else, or does it just help fix gaming lag?
Input towards topic and questions i've mentioned will be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks.

disabling the WMM has something to do with the support you get from the servers  and from i was told that's not needed to be enbled it should be disabled, and by the way the linksys support team explained it's better disabled instead of enabled and it wouldn't hurt to get a actual gaming router .. i went with the E3000 and i ended up having to ship it back  for some defective that i didnt even cause, i would look into a actual gaming router that supports gaming like the e3000 or the e3200 , it should said for gaming consles or something like that but i will totally look into your problem personally and go from there! intil then i would try to get in contact with playstation gaming system and  figure out what ps3 ports are so you can go from there - there should be a way to test the nat type (there  3 nat type's on playstation 3 )  there's nat type 3, there is nat type 2 (which is open)  and there is nat type 1 and the one we want is the nat type 2 i believe, which means open nat type (meaning plug and play enabled and open ports  on the router )

  • Need an open NAT for 3 consoles and computer

Have 2 Xbox 360's Ps3 and cant get aOpen NAT on any of them. I have done what I needed to do for the open but both xboxs read Moderate or strict Nat rating and the same for the Ps3. I need help. I am using a E1000 Linksys Router.

Well it is not recommended to play two (2) Xbox 360® units on the same network connected to the same game server since the modem will only generate a single WAN IP address. But still you can do certain settings on router to make (2) Xbox 360 working.
Here is the link which can help you in opening NAT: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=23787&userrole=Links...

  • 2 xboxes or ps3's with open nat for the rv042? yes i can!

i signed up specifically to tell future and current rv042 users that after a year of muckin' around with this fairly advanced networking technology, i've finally discovered how to open the nat types of 2 xboxes, instead of one being open and all others being moderate or strict. i'll break it down simply, 3074 port forwarded for the one, and dmz host for the other one. i couldn't figure out for the life of me, why the dmz host wouldn't open the nat type of the 2nd xbox at first, thats when it dawned on me that xboxes aren't capable of understanding the rv042 dmz host. so i tested the dmz host on my computer and it worked, putting my computer wide open to all ports on the internet. so what i tried was internet connection sharing, plugging my xbox wired into my computer which is set as the dmz host. i was all excited, jumping up and down for joy when i had succeeded in what took me an entire year to figure out. why so happy, do you ask? i don't think all of you know just how painful it is to not be able to open the same port more than once on the same network, very, very, aggravating. if you are having the same problem and don't understand how to do what i've explained, just ask. i cannot stand the thought that there are others out there like me that haven't been able to figure this out, it just causes me more pain. i will help.

I am having the same issue.  My roommate and I both have our own copies of MW3 and our own xbox 360's connected to the same router/modem. We have Verizon Fios and the modem is an Actiontec MI424WR. We have no problem playing at the same time online as long as we are not in the same match. However, when we try to play in the same match, we can never get into a match. It just keeps cycling through the "searching for matches screen.  We were at one point having issues with the OPEN NAT type but that has been solved, don't have me how, it just started working after I set the router back to defaults and we haven't had issues since.
I tried the link above, but that doesn't seem to help my issue and I think you are having the same issue has me.  If you figure it out, please let me know.

  • Opening NAT for Modern Warfare 2 on my PC

As I'm sure many of you are doing as well I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 since the night it came out. It is telling me that I have a strict NAT on my router (WRT160n V2). I've searched on the forum and all I can find is information on opening the NAT for the xbox 360. I run mine on my PC and I'm wondering what ports I need to open, and whatever else it would take to make Call of Duty run the absolute best possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

i had this issue for a while. first i dmz'd through my dsl router to my desktop and everything came through fine. it wouldnt allow me to do this with my lap top though. i know that is not a good idea and it was just to check if it would open the nat at all. After some tinkering i had to call my isp and ask them to help me set up the modem so it would just pass all the info to the router. I know that the original poster of this thread has cable but i am posting something in here since it is a similar issue and it might be able to help some one. Once i set my router to PPoE and had the correct ports forwarded my nat opened on the laptop. i also turned the firewall on my router off and left upnp.
    * UDP 1500 (outbound only, no forward needed)
    * UDP 3005 (outbound only, no forward needed)
    * UDP 3101 (outbound only, no forward needed)
    * UDP 28960
    I have dsl and a wrt160

  • Opening NAT for Xbox 360

    Hey all,
I live in a fraternity house, and we just got an Apple Airport Extreme (802.11a), but we are having trouble playing together on Xbox Live, specifically Call of Duty: Black Ops. I've tried following many manuals across the internet but I can't seem to get my NAT to "Open." I followed Tesserax's manual that he posted for someone a while back, but I ended up only making go from "Moderate" to "Strict." I'm using a wireless adapter for my xbox as well. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    1) It's not the only router directly connected, we have 2 others in use as well.
It will be critical to understand the current network configuration with both the AEBSn and these other routers. XBox Live relies on certain ports opened for on-line gaming. It also uses UPnP to do this automatically. Unfortunately, the Apple routers do not support UPnP. Instead they have a similar technology called NAT-PMP, but I don't believe this is recognized by the XBox.
The key is that the router, which has NAT enabled and typically is the one connected directly to the Internet service, is the one that either supports UPnP or must be configured for Port Mapping/Port Forwarding or a DMZ to allow the XBox to have an Open NAT status.
If your AEBSn is downstream of another router, then the AEBSn should be reconfigured as a bridge. This would disable its NAT service and the mapping or DMZ configuration would need to be done on that upstream router.
    2) I tried Port Mapping, not DMZ cause I was unsure how to do the DMZ part.
With a DMZ, you are basically disabling the NAT firewall for a single device on your local network. In this case that would be the XBox. Apple calls a DMZ, the Default Host. Again, this would only be potentially helpful if the AEBSn was directly connected to the Internet source.

  • Opening NAT for Xbox 360 (HELP!)

Ok, I really need help. I am trying to open my NAT for my Xbox 360. I recently contacted Xbox Support and they gave Port numbers and told me to contact linksys to help set the numbers up on my router. When I called them, a man told me that my that my router 's warranty is done and it would cost me 30 dollars for him to tell me how to do this. Please, someone help me fix this without giving Linksys 30 dollars. I have the Port Numbers, all I need to know is how to put those numbers on my router. Please someone help!

IP Address: 192.168.X.[last part of ip in your device]    e.g. if static ip given to the device was 192.168.X.10 get the last part and put that to the empty box.

  • WRT54G2V1 Need Open NAT for Destiny PS3

I currently have a Linksys WRT54G2V router. My Playstation3 has a wired connection to my router. With my current settings when I play Destiny on my PS3 I have a moderate NAT, and would like an open NAT. My ISP is Charter Communications. I do get a public IP through to my router, and have tried portforwarding. Am i missing anthing? Do i just need a better router?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAT6 is recommended.
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=88e63d78588142e6bb68e22d7faf2046_Configuring_the_M...
If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

  • Open NAT for xbox360

I've done almost everything I've read onthis forums but nothing seems to be working...
    I have Wireless-N Broadband RouterWRT160N. UPnP disabled.
    Port range forwarding:
    TCP 80
    UDP 88
    BOTH 3074
ALL FOR 192.168.1.12, assigned to the xbox
    Port range triggering:
    trigered range 53 to 3074
    forwarded range 53 to 3074
Both are enabled, but I have tried every combination of enable/disable and still my NAT is set to moderate...
    Help anyone? Thanks...

As you have tried all the settings on your Router and still the NAT is Moderate on your Router, I think in this case you need to upgrade the firmware of your Router.
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop..
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Open NAT for xbox 360 live???

I am using a westell 6100G with a linksys wrt54g wireless router.  xbox live is saying my NAT is set to moderate.  How can i set it to open?

#1 Check the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers on your computer.
    a) For example if on Windows XP, go to Start -> Run.
    b) Type in cmd and press enter.
    c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press enter.
#2 With your web browser go to the Default Gateway found, and log-in as need be.
#3 If you get access to the Linksys, go to Administration -> Management
#4 If you do not have at least two game consoles behind your router, turn off UPnP in the router.
By game console, a special type of computer with no keyboard or mouse (and it/they are usually connected to a TV).
#5 In the Linksys go to Status -> Local Network.
#6 Setup a Static IP on the Xbox, outside of the DHCP Server range. http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-xbox360.htm
    For example..
If the Starting IP Address is 192.168.1.100 and the Ending IP Address is 192.168.1.149, you could set the Xbox to use 192.168.1.6
#7 In the Linksys forward to the IP Address that you setup on the Xbox.
#8 In the Linksys go to Status -> Router.
#9 At portforward.com there is text that says Your external IP is
#10 In the router at that screen, you should see the same IP Address.
#11 If you do not, then follow this FAQ to get the modem into bridge mode.
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13600

  • Open nat for XBL

how can I open my nat on my time capsule, so i can play on xbox live

The basics of it are discussed in the user guides in Extreme section.
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/wireless/airport?view=documents
Look at port mapping in whichever utility you use, v5 or v6. You will have to manually forward the required ports.
But note.. this isn't easy and doesn't just work. Apple made their series of routers deliberately to not handle UPNP which is how the rest of the world works.. to auto open ports so you manually have to do it...  and the DMZ method in the TC simply doesn't work. As people often find manual port forwarding.. it just doesn't work.

  • Need to open NAT for Xbox 360 using AirPort Extreme 2012 Model

Alright this is driving me crazy haha.
Here is the equipment im working with.
    Xbox 360
Motoroloa SB6141 Modem from time warner cable
    Airport extreme 2012 model
    Early 2011 Macbook pro
if its been released i have the update for it. haha
So i have not had this issue before i got the SB6141 on Saturday.
I have read things about it and none of it is clicking. trying to get more personalized help here.
    Any Help is appreciated.
    Thank you in advance!

So i have not had this issue before i got the SB6141 on Saturday.
    That.....is the problem.
Right now, you are getting Double NAT because the modem is providing NAT firewall and the AirPort is providing NAT firewall. That equals Double NAT also known as Strict NAT.
Contact Time Warner support to get the default IP address for the modem so that you can get into the settings and turn off the firewall in the modem.  It needs to be set to pure bridge mode. A decent phone tech will know how to do this.
If you have other modem options, you won't have this problem with a Netgear CMD31T....also on the list of TWC recommended modems.
